This is a great publix. I love the location, because it's right next to the Food Lion so we can stop by after for specialty items. It's also very clean. Amazing deli section, great bakery omg the bread is so good. I love to come here for the cheese and onion bread. The build your own sandwich section is great too, anything you want and its a large size for 10$. I love the chicken tenders, popcorn chicken, roasted and fried chicken there as well. I love when it comes to celebrations and folks rave about the cake and as usual the response goes, "thanks, it's Publix!" The bakery department pulls all the stops in making sure your cake is scrumptious when you order ahead of time. I even browse the wedding section cakes for their "naked" cakes because they look so pretty but can downsize to fit your celebration needs, not just for weddings. I like the fresh fruits, light whipped cream frosting, herbs like mint or sage. The signature cakes aren't overly sweet and truly elevate any occasion plus the best part about being an adult is having cake for breakfast or tasting your name in frosting haha I love the BOGO deals at Publix plus they carry some unique, hard to find items as well. I like perusing the international section for different meal ideas to switch up meal planning. Easy in and out plus their pharmacy is wicked fast. Had a quick turnaround time getting my flu vaccine plus they have the forms for your job to show the lot number and manufacturer which makes it easier for work requirements. It is rare in today/s world to find people like Mrs. Charity who used to be Pharmacy manager and now Assistant Pharmacy manager- if she is there she can tell from the voice- quickly like AI -artificial intelligence, recognize your medicine and thorough in her work- speaks truth, honesty and great customer service- has a great smiling good nature- her husband and kids are the same. some of her employees like Theresa, Linda are all oustanding.. Present manager Sarah and one more i forgot are all nice by the way Please ensure her upper management recognized and put a good note for them and give them a piece good thing like free lunch or promotion or so - this is not like one day - it has been past 7 years-seven years with her....no doubt or no change about it- truly exceptional as you all know i speak my mind without thinking and tell things as it is- absolutely great- when she takes the phone call it is easy to handle compared to others. This is strictly for the bakery Department. I go into this establishment 2 to 3 times a week and Customer service, cleanliness and quality of products are still top-notch however, the birthday cakes you order from the bakery are not cheap and in May I ordered a quarter sheet cake and got an 8 inch round and this week I ordered a quarter sheet (the chocolate delight) and it was a quarter sheet, but it didn't have any strawberries on top and I checked and it's supposed to have strawberries. I did not complain either time to any of the employees in the bakery or anyone at Publix because it seems today it's almost taboo to correct someone and in the grand scheme of things yes it doesn't matter because we got our cake both times but that's not what we ordered. we paid for something more. I don't think I will be able to order a third time because if I'm paying full price, the cake should be the right size and it should have the toppings that are in the description.. read more

Manager of the establishment is a complete embarrassment to the entire store. He insisted on bagging our groceries himself and then bagged them horribly, on purpose, while making snide comments about how we wanted certain items in bags (that he left unbagged!). He packed the bags so full that several of them broke while trying to walk the groceries into my home. Between that and the disrespect, I find it appalling someone like this is a manager. Over all this is my go to shopping spot. I spend 100 of dollars here a month and always get the best quality service but hunny a few days ago was not it. I grab a box of the already cooked chicken from the deli not thinking twice, I pay for my food, and walk out the door. please tell me why I take a bite and blood drips from it. I instantly went into panic mode and lost it. I really wish I didn't have so much trust into throwing away my recipe when leaving this location. I definitely would have come back for a full refund. I have shopped this store since it opened. They used to have some pretty good managers / front end help (Like Mr. BLACKSTONE). Unfortunately those days are gone. They seem to get a new manager at least once a year or more. The majority of the staff hate life or theor job there because how poor of service they provide. There are a few great employees there but most of the time they end up transferring to other store or seeking employment elsewhere. That should tell you how bad this store it. The Walmart used to be known as the worse customer service provider in Goose Creek but it seems Publix is try to take that title away. I would recommend trying the Lowe's Food in Hanahan or Summerville... some have said the other Publix towards Moncks Corner is better but they could be because theor new so time will tell with that store. Others have also mentioned the Summerville location being decent as well. So as long as your fine with being treated badly and not able to get half the things you need when you go to the store then go ahead and shop there, otherwise spend your hard earned $$$ somewhere that isn't as horrible. read more

I wish I read the reviews before i shopped! This used to be my favorite store. I cannot get anyone to assist me and it looks like from the lack of responses to any of the critical reviews here that this one will not be addressed either. I purchased milk through instacart for someone who is not mobile. The milk is close to expiration, 4 days. Publix admitted that it's their fault, "they usually check" and that I ought to call instacart because they didn't pick up the milk and there's nothing they can do about it. You know what instacart said? You got it! "There's nothing we can do. Call back when it's expired and make a report about the health concern." Frustrated with both entities. I could shop again and that's right -- pay the service and delivery fees, along with the automatic tip! No use crying over spoiled milk! read more

How anyone doesn't love Publix is beyond me. From the second I walk in the door to the second I drive away smiling, I have had nothing short of a wonderful shopping experience. I walk in, there is a friendly person stocking something or other who greets me with a smile. I wander the store and am always impressed with the selection and reasonable prices. The meats, seafod, and produce are always super fresh. The seafood counter guys really know their stuff, and I am always bugging the poor produce dept with " where's this or that?". I am always helped out with a smile. Checkout is speedier than your average grocery store. There is always a bagger to take my groceries out without my having to ever ask as well! As a matter of fact last week I had 8 very full and very large canvas bags, and because it was thanksgiving week, and they were SUPER busy, and I am a fit 40 year old, I said that I'd just take my cart out without help... the bagger looked at me like I was silly, and insisted on helping me out. It is time for Goose Creek to get another grocery store like Whole Foods, Earth Fare or Harris Teeter. This Publix is one of the worst locations I have ever been to. The service at the deli counters is terrible. I have been there when it has been slammed and when there is literally one other customer there. It doesn't matter when or how many people are waiting the service is consistently slow. What is perplexing is that there are so many employees behind the counters doing a whole lot of talking and walking around and nothing else. If you order ahead online truly order ahead of the actual time you need because I have arrived there several times and my orders are nowhere to be found. Beyond the deli area the bakery is pretty good. Our favorite is the mountain bread and the staff in that area are quite friendly. Cookies are offered to the kids free of charge. As for product selection...pretty bad. They are usually out of most things, especially Greenwise products which is so odd given that it is a Publix brand. Produce is terrible. Bell peppers are always on the verge of being shriveled; strawberries look nice but last a day when you get them home. It just isn't good and it is so frustrating. Checkout is always interesting. Sometimes you strike gold and you are in and out and other times you get stuck with a cashier making comments about every product they scan. They also use an excessive amount of bags. I have gone there with my own bags and they put plastic bags in my reusable bags. What even?! For me it is usually worth it to go to Summerville to get the products I need without all the hassles this Publix presents. But sometimes I have to go here and it is the saddest of days for me. read more

This Publix is always neat and tidy. Everyone working there is nice and helpful. They usually have some good deals going on and I love their bogo's. If you plan your shopping you can really save. Their bakery stuff is nice and they have some yummy stuff in deli (hummus,sub's),wraps, Publix is my favorite grocery store. I think that publix brand products are pretty good in fact I prefer their dairy (yogurt, cottage cheese and their sour cream!) over some or most name brand. Stopped in to pick up some items for a quick dinner. Went to the deli counter to get some chicken and after the associate served the lady in front of me, she walked away, leaving several of us waiting in line. She was boxing something, the. Went to the back. After about 5 minutes she re-emerged but still didn't come to wait on us. There were several other folks behind the counter but I'm guessing each person had their area of responsibility so they didn't come over to help. The original associate eventually came over and took my order. I am a loyal Publix customer and go out of my way to shop at their store when there is one in the area. Our Publix is great. The employees are overwhelmingly polite and attentive, eager to assist. The fact that my blood pressure medication is free lures me in at least once a month and of course I must shop. They have a class beer selection, with specialties I can't find at other grocery stores, and produce just gleaming and begging you to take it home and make something great. Their sushi selection is always fantastic, though often heavy on the brown rice, which can I say has NO PLACE in sushi? It's so gritty and nutty. Those are always the last choices left in the cooler. But the squid salad and seaweed salad are always perfect, and their non-brown rice rolls are always great, as well as nigiri sliced properly and fresh as can be. If I were wealthier, I would do all my grocery shopping here, as they have it all. As it is, I still shop here more than I probably should, but it hasn't broken me yet. read more

This Publix is not good, I've gotten instacart from them maybe 3 times and have had issues every single time. I don't think it's an instacart issue since I usually get my orders from cane bay Publix (I have done maybe 30+ orders from that location) and they haven't ever missed a beat. This specific Publix has issues with instacart every time. They also have staff who isn't as kind as the other Publix stores in the area. I've always considered Publix a fancier grocery store and expect it to be nicer than other stores since the prices are elevated and from every other Publix besides this location it's the standard. This Publix is no better than bilo or food lion so don't waste the extra money they charge on their items for a nicer shopping experience, just go somewhere else. read more

I've been going to this Publix location the past weeks for the great deals; $10 off $40 coupons they have been mailing me and $10 off a $50 gas card when purchasing $50. It's not hard to spend that kind of money at Publix since they can be pretty expensive on things; for example this week they have Haas Avocados 2 for $4 while I can cross the street and get them for $.78 each or 4 for $5 at BiLo. But Publix offers some good deals too, you just have to shop wisely when coming to Publix or you'll overpay for something; it's a shame that you do have to go to multiple grocery stores for the best prices. The parking lot at this store can be pretty tricky, not sure if it's just the drivers of Goose Creek or the parking lot; but you have to leap frog to get in and out of the store. The store is clean and the employees are super nice here. That's the great side of shopping at Publix is the employees and their attitudes. read more

Of all the Low Country Publix stores I've visited, I have to say this is the most messy & stressful. The lighting is dark, the store is packed because the aisles are too close together. There are tons of additional end cap items and seasonal displays that block the main walkways. I honestly equate Publix stores with bright, clean and large spaces - but the Goose Creek location is none of those. Not sure I'd make a trip here again. read more

I'm sick and tired of the deli! It's hard to get the soup that is supposed to be on the schedule. The problem? They don't order enough! I've brought this up to the deli manager before and it was fixed briefly but now it's right back to it! He is super nice but I just can't wrap my head around why this problem is still being allowed to go on. The best soup that Publix makes is Chicken and Wild Rice and it is supposed to be there Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They can't order right so they keep mixing it up!!! I went there today and the only day they seemingly will have it now is just Friday!!! Unreal!!!Cane Bay isn't like this and I bet you the new Publix in Moncks Corner probably won't be like this either. I'm so sick of our lousy location, here in Goose Creek! I'm to the point that I'm willing to travel another 4 to 5 minutes just to get what I want from a reliable store, instead of the dysfunctional location. It is super annoying anymore! There are a limited number of grocery store options in GC if you are trying to avoid Walmart and Publix is one of those. The only complaint I have is that sometimes on restock days, carts are left in aisles and it clogs traffic. Sales are on point, prices are reasonable, and they have a great selection of local items (beer and coffee to be specific). The bakery's cupcakes never disappoint and the deli's sandwiches are on point. read more

I grew up in Rochester, NY, home of Wegmans, which otherwise means I was spoiled in the grocery store experience. Until I found this Publix I had thrown in the towel on good grocers with reasonable prices (Whole Foods and Harris Teeter are nice, but expensive). The Goose Creek Publix has a great selection of breads, fish, poultry, steaks, pork, etc. Their produce section kicks ass. Their birthday cakes are perfect (come with servers) and their meat/cheese trays are fresh. Here's what puts them above the rest: 1. When you walk past or near an employee they will ask you with a smile if they can help you, and mean it. Everytime I had forgotten something on another aisle they would find it for me while I continued shopping. 2. I never checked out with a baggage person not politely asking me if they could help me load my car. 3. When my pregnancy pouch started to show the Manager found me on an aisle and signed my up for their Baby Club! About two months before Rease arrived I received $50. in coupons and the 'AAP Caring for you baby and young child Ages 0-5' book. I continued to receive coupons until I moved out of state when Rease was 3 months. 4. When I came in to pick up a deli tray they had lost my order. They quickly put one together and gave me a 50% discount. Those are only four examples of why this Publix goes down in my book as they best grocery store. read more

What could you not like about Publix besides the prices? Publix carries the freshest fruits and vegetables and their bakery products are unbelievable. Their cakes are the moistest and just melt in your mouth. Publix also has a fabulous deli. I have ordered sandwiches here on many occasions and never had a bad experience. Their customer service is top notched and always extremely helpful. I've never had a cashier with an attitude or a bagger that was completely rude which could be seen at Wal-Mart in North Charleston. The prices are a little high but that is the cost of quality. I mean I guess you could go to Food Lion and buy rotten fruits and vegetables for less. Publix is a well kept grocery store with great products. Their deli meats are perfect, shelf products are organized and pretty easy to find, and my favorite product from their store is their Southern Style Potato Salad. OMG. I think I could eat a whole container of that by myself. It is SO good. I subtract one star because usually the cashiers aren't great, although all other employees are AWESOME. But they sure need to work on their cashiers' customer service... I personally only shop here for items the commissary doesn't carry, but I always end up buying something else because the store is so well set up. read more

Publix has been my favorite grocery store since I was a kid. I remember only seeing them on beach trips to Florida, then in Atlanta, and now when I moved to the low country. This Publix lives up to those memories. The store is always clean and every employee will bend over backwards to help you with a smile. On top of that, I've found many of the Publix brand items to be quality alternatives to brand names. Brand name items can usually be found on sale and overall the prices aren't much different than Bi-Lo or other similar chains. Their deli and bakery all have quality items made in-house. It's hard to pass up some of the items in the bakery case. Overall this is the main grocery store for us. read more

Favorite store to go to, great customer service, very clean, good sales. Unfortunately I cannot give them 5 stars because of one department. The Deli. It's like they take every employee who does not care and sticks them there. They used to show you the cut but it would be very rare for that to happen anymore. Not too mention there will be 6 employees but only one cutting meat. So always a long wait. A little advice also, if you want sandwich slice or thick. Tell them you want very thin because that's how it always comes out when I order it that way. So frustrating, I wish my favorite store could just fix that one thing! read more
