Shopping at TJ Maxx is a totally different experience--it feels like a hidden boutique tucked inside the store, with elevated finds at discounted prices. It's definitely a treasure hunt, and honestly, I never leave empty-handed. Every trip, I walk out with a full buggy. In the jewelry section, I found a beautiful necklace and bracelet set for my husband, plus a box of six pairs of small hoop earrings for myself. From there, we moved to bath and body--where I stocked up on everything from vanilla-scented shimmering body oil to goat milk & honey lotion, bergamot & hinoki body wash, and turmeric brown sugar exfoliating wash (plus a few extras I couldn't pass up). The candle section did not disappoint either--men's DW candles, Dayroom candles, #96 heavily fragranced options, and my favorite DW pink rose scents. I also came across crystal bookends, Citrine spheres, and white quartz geodes, along with four posing Buddha statues that are perfect for my bathroom. And I still wasn't done. My grandson found a toy archery set, and I picked up two outfits for his little sisters. One little dress came with a hat and the other with sunglasses. The pet section was packed with toys, accessories, and high-end shampoos and conditioners you'd usually only find in boutiques--I grabbed a few squeaky toys and an oatmeal shampoo for my itchy pup. Of course, we ended at what I call "the trap"--the checkout line surrounded by snacks, gummy vitamins, jelly beans, greeting cards, and novelty mugs. It gets you every Single time. Overall, the store feels organized and thoughtfully curated, which makes the entire shopping experience easy, fun, and hard to walk away from without a great find. This TJ Maxx definitely had more of a variety of options I thought when browsing. Overall, the store was clean and it was easy to navigate. The checkout line went fairly quickly and the cashier accidentally did not ring up the items correctly on the first attempt so took a bit longer than anticipated. Purchased an adorable Valentine's Day cup for $7.99, most definitely will be using for the month of February. read more

Honestly this TJ Maxx can be hit or miss as any can be! It's generally really busy so going early in the day is the best for best products, organization, and shorter waits! That being said I've never walked out empty handed. They have a great toddler clothing selection! I have found Ralph Lauren and a lot of Nike for my son! I also luck out on beauty deals! I can always find diy lash extension sets for half price as neighboring target! They also have a fantastic jewelry counter if you can find someone to help you without a long wait! Very dirty, smelly, hot and cluttered, the lines are astronomical and the bathrooms are disgusting which I mentioned to Amber the manager, she looked up from her phone shrugged at me. You can very well tell that they are severely understaffed and these poor associates are obviously overworked. I use to love tjmaxx until a couple months ago. It was clean and the staff was nice and the products were neat I don't know what management has been doing or lack of recently but whatever it is they need to fix it because it's reminding me of Ross. read more

Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting every single time I go. I talked to the manager tonight Chris P, told him there was toilet paper everywhere and crap in the toilets, all he did was shrug his shoulders and asked what I wanted him to do about it. Said "no offense, but it's always the women's room that's disgusting. We clean it every day and it still ends up looking like that." So not only is he aware, but he doesn't care. I witnessed multiple employees coming in and out of the bathroom and not a single one of them bothered to clean it. My husband called the other manager Amber later on, acted like she couldn't be bothered and when asked if there was an interval bathroom cleaning schedule she wouldn't answer the question just "umm.. umm.. we clean it when the customers complain about it" but then said "every 2 hours it's cleaned" Make up your mind it's either cleaned routinely or someone has to do your job for you and remind you, pick one. Management has absolutely NO regard for cleanliness and waits to be told to do their jobs by customers. I'm starting to think TJ Maxx hired these managers out of pure desperation and nothing else cause the lights are on but no one's home. Very dim people. Also doesn't know who the health inspector is for the store, but best believe they're going to be very well acquainted very soon! I like shopping at TJ Maxx because they have great prices and a variety of stuff. The clothing is nice. I just wish they offered more in their plus section. Household items are plentiful and you can always find something unique. It's a place I like to shop for gifts for others. During the holiday season, more specifically Christmas, you can always find products that you wouldn't think of being sold here. I always love coming here to buy nice little gifts for friends and family. They have a huge selection of beauty products, kitchen items, clothing, and home decor. There's something for everyone, men, women, children and pets. Halloween items are already out in August. The employees are always quick at the registers and the line moves fast, no matter how long. There is always a sense of clutter though and no order to certain sections. You really have to dig around to see things and it creates a mess. I like it here and enjoy shopping for gifts. read more

I ran in this location today to browse around, and it was nice! They had a nice selection of everything, the employees were friendly, and the store seemed clean! I'm torn about how to rate TJ Maxx. Sometimes, I walk into this store and want one of everything. I have to make decisions about what my credit card can handle. Other times, I walk in, look around for a few minutes, and think, "eh, nothing for me today." I think that is the nature of TJ Maxx, but there are times this store just has a different vibe. When they're on, they're spot on. When it's off, I can't leave fast enough. So, my rating has everything to do with the friendly nature of the folks who work here. I've never had a bad experience. I rarely have to wait a long time in checkout, and the store is mostly clean. There are times the racks get a little crazy, but there are a lot of customers who just throw things on the floor as well. All-in-all, it's a TJ Maxx. You know it won't the be same every time. I am truly a "maxxinista" but this one has an overall low end selection. You can probably come across a decently priced designer bag but there are never any designer finds in shoes or clothes. I have seen Gucci shoes once, size 6, so some really tiny lady or child with grown up designer style got lucky. You will find mostly Zara, lucky, American eagle, and Micheal Kors here plus similar "American lifestyle brands". That's great for wardrobe staples and quantity over quality type clothing though. Compared to other locations I have shopped at, I go in to this one and leave with nothing about 95% of the time because I am looking for that unique piece or that designer find. t.J MAXX got no love for us Summerville gals. I tell you when I do shop here- Christmas time. Can't beat the hundreds of fancy wrapping papers and bag sets and the home goods section sky rockets with neat finds that will be worth an hour wait on line. read more

I visited this TJMAXX on a Saturday during lunch time. Obviously they were very busy, but the manner handled it very well constantly calling more cashiers to help with the rush. The store was a little crowed, but I imagine all TJMAXX stores look like that. Giving four stars because there is literally no cart stalls in the parking lot.
