One place that will always dominate any neighborhood besides that other depressing behemoth store is Target. A huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. This brings me to Target in Summerville, SC. Located in a safe albeit busy part of town this place will have, almost anything you need since it's a Super Target. They're aren't many people walking around so if you need something be prepared to "hunt." Finally the place is always clean and stocked so that's a huge bonus. As for the food, it has what one has come to expect from Target, average products at a low cost however when it comes to fruit and veggies, the supply is always needs a lot of washing. The baked and homemade food items are average but better than that other "blue" store! I've also found they're limited in toys as I tried to purchase some items for my kids but they only have the absolute most popular items. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you won't find it here, or at least anything new. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is limited, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Target as it's the cheapest. Overall, Target is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Other than those items, it's Target so you already know what you want. read more

Who doesn't love target?! This one stays pretty busy and it seems at any time of the day. I love their value section right when you walk in with Knick knacks and right now it's cute stocking stuffers. The bathrooms are pretty clean and right next to Starbucks. That Starbucks is crazy busy so I avoid going there. I always find at least a few things from the back sales rack for great prices which I love. The grocery sometimes can be a little lacking depending on the season I can't find certain things but they have a decent selection. I was returning some things this visit, it did take a bit longer of a wait given the holidays, but the gentleman that helped me was very nice and friendly despite the piles of returns surrounding him. Target is always a necessary stop. They really found that balance between fairly priced, every day essentials, and more premium household goods. I love coming here to shop for cute outfits for my daughter and to grab a delicious Starbucks to enjoy while I shop. The lines here are normally long, but they move quickly thanks to the attentive employees. The only thing I need to worry about here is leaving with something I don't need because it's so tempting. This review is specifically for one employee. An older lady. My partner was there at 2:45 PM January 30, 2026 looking at Pokemon cards. I picked up two. The employee said "you can't take any yet, I have to take a picture." He said "ok," put them back and walked away. He came back a few minutes later and went to grab two again. The employee said "you can't take those, you already took two earlier." He responded with, "no ma'am, I put them back and walked away when you said you had to take a picture first, now I'm back to grab them." She said "no, I saw you, you took two." He replied "I had two in my hand, then I put them back so you could take your picture." She kept arguing and would not let him take any. He asked her to go look at the security footage and she said "I don't have to, I saw you take them." He let it go and just bought a few of the new releases but bummed because he wanted those certain packs for our two daughters. He's not confrontational but I wish he would have spoken to management. We haven't been to Target in years but decided to look for a few things that have been hard to find due to the upcoming snow/ice tomorrow and got all excited when he saw some being cards put out. I was in your store at 8:30 pm. I'm disabled and was not able to maneuver my handicap buggy around the isle and ended up needing help to get the buggy out of the men's clothing department. I will never visit another target location as I've had similar instances. I will be registering a formal complaint to the ADA. I will give it 1 star review only because I can't select a zero. I really enjoy this target! It always has a good selection of products and it stays true to its app in terms of stocked items. I'm always able to find everything I need and the lines/self checkout is pretty quick. Even on their busy days which is usually the weekend! Can't really complain! read more

I have been to this Target several times and I'm surprised I haven't written a review on it yet. The majority of the time, I have had stellar service here. The employee who pushes the carts in has helped carry my bags to the car when I was wheelchair bound. The store employee who grabbed my purse and locked it in the back when I absentmindedly left it in the cart on my way out (How did I do that? Facepalm). The electronics employee who recommended the most amazing earphones I've ever owned and was so sweet about it. The clean store that seems to never be messy...even though we know there are a ton of people who leave Starbucks cups everywhere. I have so many good experiences here, it's almost intertwined in great memories with my family. There has only been one bad experience (nobody is perfect) and that was the shoe debacle. I'm sure someone came to clean it up within the hour though. I would definitely recommend this Target. All the amazing employees that work here deserve a pat on the back. Seriously. This store is always clean, organized, and well lit. Target carries a ton of speciality brands you can't find in other stores. There are always plenty of registers open. There's a Starbucks inside. The parking lot can get a little annoying to get out because of the set up for the area but it's nothing too bad. read more

Decent Target store in Summerville. We went this past Black Friday and it was B.U.S.Y. There were crowds, there was shoving, there was name calling, etc; everything one expects at a Tarshae on Black Friday. We went through the store and got what we needed, including a couple of deals. I love the dollar spot. They have so many cute things and none of them are over $5. You can find gift bags, hats, decor items, as well as toys. They have a nice selection of just about anything you could need. From clothes and shoes to baby items, movies and home decor, target has it all. The staff is generally friendly and helpful if you need anything. And it's a bonus that they also have a Starbucks inside in case you need a coffee fix. read more

Anytime I'm up in Summerville at the Kohl's I make the rounds of a few different shops including this Target. I'm a fan of Target. Especially the cleanliness, nice big aisles and great home decor items. I always find great holiday or theme hand towels for the kitchen, welcome mats, picture frames, etc etc! Also I've been buying the same pair of sunglasses from here for over 15 years. I love them and love that they still carry them after all this time. Price started out around $10.99 and is closer to $17.99 now. But I don't care, I'm still going to buy them. To be at the self check out in the evening and to see no registers open except for two people, one at self check out and the other at customer service, the employee working self check out was complaining and exhaling loudly going "ugh finally I can sit back down" after having to help customers at the self check out was quite astonishing. Then to sit back on the computer chair with wheels and literally wheel over to customers when they need help was quite the representation of the work ethic here in target. Target is my go to place when I want to be alone, but be surrounded by people and noise. I rarely am bothered, except around the holidays because it's busy, but that comes with the territory. I love walking down the aisles of the store looking for nothing in particular. I do enjoy shopping at Target until I get to the checkout. I will say this Target usually has everything that I need when I come to pick it up. Their shelves are not bare. However, when I go to check out especially when it's crowded I tend to get very claustrophobic. This Target squeezes three and four buggies into a single check out line or they're directing you to the second row of check out terminals and then there's a traffic jam with all the buggies. On several occasions I'm not even getting my bags in my buggy when they've already thrown the person behind me with their bags in with mine as I am trying to gather. Even though they have somebody directing people to check out terminals, they still had too many in the check out lines area with all the buggies. This last time, I suddenly became very overwhelmed and claustrophobic, and bout had a panic attack because of how they were just throwing people in line to get checked out. My suggestion is to avoid this target on a Saturday. I also tried to mention this to customer service and the response was a shrug of shoulders. read more

I find the clothing and apparel is generally overpriced based on the quality of clothing sold there in my opinion, they do have a nice clearance section for the deal seekers where they mark down things like work out apparel and other items that most of us don't want to spend a fortune on. It is a shame that their Optical side cannot be reviewed separate from the rest of their establishment, but it is what it is. I have been getting my contact lenses from this location for nearly 2 years now. When I got my first 6 month supply, after my eye exam, one of my last two contacts ripped. Since driving is a large portion of my position, this is obviously not very safe. I had to negotiate with whoever was working in the office over the course of nearly 3 hours, and threaten to just "wear a friend's contact until I went elsewhere" just for them to finally tell me my prescription so I could call around and see if someone had a pair of lenses I could purchase while waiting for my order from them. Here we are, a year and a half later, down to my last pair, and they refused to answer the question again. Keep in mind this mind blowing context- people I have been giving my business to for 2 years are refusing to give me information on my own prescription for contact lenses. Instead they favor bullying you into paying $300 between the lenses and a forced eye exam because the prescription is now invalid. (Because apparently as soon as a prescription is invalid it self-deletes, and you can never again find out what your prescription is. Right xD) I will be getting my next eye exam elsewhere, and recording my prescriptions from here on out so I can order them online in emergencies like this in the future. As fun as it'll be to risk wearing out my final pair during the wait, it'll be worth not giving my dollars here. Do not go to their Optics section. Side Note: I have never had any issue with any of the other Store Staff. read more

I like the location as it easy to get in to and out of and is close to many other stores that I also like to visit. The store is well run compared to some other Targets I have experienced and the staff here is friendly and helpful. The pharmacy and home sections really stand out at this location. Not a bad Target overall. Cleanliness is good, location is great, but the staff level of professionalism could be kicked up a notch. It's a pretty good spot overall and kept well stocked. They do place some displays in the main aisles that take up a bit too much room so it literally impedes the foot traffic of customers. The staff professionalism does need some work though. The hand baskets at the front are never restocked. I usually have to grab a bunch when I go in from the area by the cash registers and bring them over myself (good karma?). It wouldn't be a big deal, but when employees are on their phones or just hanging out, well there is work to be done. But what was a real downer was my cashier having a full blown conversation with another worker (clearly friends) and they were walking between my girlfriend and me while we were checking out. One girl was messing with buttons on the register while we were being checked out by the other. Not professional at all. I'm all about making work fun, or at least doing your best to get by without going crazy, and I get they were young employees (there's a learning curve, right?). When compared to other discount department stores, this store is a nice change of pace when shopping for needed items. This location is always well-stocked, clean, free of clutter, and the employees are friendly. There is always plenty of parking. The store has a Starbucks and their own cafe to offer its customers refreshments for their shopping experience. I particularly enjoy shopping there in the early morning or later hours when I can go in, get what I want to purchase, and leave in a relaxing environment. This a super target, so it has grocery, clothes, food and Starbucks. Best thing here is that this Starbucks isn't nearly as crowded as the individual location on main street. This particular target is usually really busy, but on the other side of the coin, there's alot of checkers open. Lastly, there's also a recycling station by the bathrooms on the left past Starbucks where you can recycle plastic bags, cans, printer cartridges, and all other plastic materials. read more

This is a nice Target store, in a well-shopped area. I like the fact that I can go to Target, Kohl's, PetsMart, and TJ Maxx and leave my car parked. This Target is on the small side in comparison to other Target stores; but, I can still find everything that I need. I particularly like shopping at Target during after holiday sales (including Christmas, Halloween, and Easter), and I like their Back-to-School clearance sales. I rarely buy groceries or pharmacy at Target because their prices are a little too high for me. The thing I like most about Target has nothing to do with this one store but with Target in general; their politics. I like that they stand up for equality and equity and acknowledge that times change and people evolve. I really like this location. I often stop here when I'm craving a TJMaxx and Smashburger run (Saturday afternoons, mostly) and the store is always clean and well stocked. They have pretty decent clearance end caps, so be sure to check those out while you are perusing all of the aisles. As far as clothing and accessories, I sometimes have a little trouble finding my size, but I just assume that means there are a ton of people who are my size that also love Target! There are plenty of check lanes open, so your line wait time is minimal. Plus, be sure to check out their mobile app for great deals. read more

Nice store, same as most Targets, this one is a Super store though its a small grocery section compared to other Super stores. Every time I have gone, the store is always nice and clean. The shoe section is awesome, as is the book section. We cant ever seem to find what we need in the electronics section though. All in all, its a good stopping place for your essentials and accessories for the house or for yourself. read more

I wish I could just review "Target Tech" by itself, but I have to review the whole store. Here goes: I bought tempered glass for my phone, which is expensive by itself. Usually, when you buy things like this from a phone store such as AT&T or Verizon, they offer to put it on for you. I asked the worker if there was any possible way to put it on, and was answered with a simple "no". Okay, fine. Handed her my tempered glass and phone case (which were not cheap!) and she responds, "Do you want these?". No dip, Sherlock! Then proceeds to turn her back and not say anything to me. I had to find her register while she was yelling at her coworkers to hand her a set of keys. Proceeds to say nothing to me. Are you kidding me!?!? I love Target! I prefer Target over some other department stores that I won't mention. It's always clean here. The staff are friendly and helpful and they have great prices on certain items. Check out the clearance sections throughout the store (normally at the ends of certain aisles) cause you can usually find something for a great price there. Agree on the more Cashiers thing, but at least the ones that do work here are always super friendly. If I order anything online, it's usually ready quickly for me to pick up. Could update their Blu-Ray section a bit...too many DVD's in stock (we're in 2018). Nonetheless my fave Target. read more
