It was so hard to leave at the store without picking up every single thing it's crazy so much fun goodies if you're into all the knickknacks and whatnots. Walked away with a food boards book, sketchpad, markers and some fun pins. This is my first time going definitely making plans on heading back.

Five Below is great, offering a wide variety of items for $5 and below. There's something for everyone--workout gear, clothes, hair and beauty products, home decor, tech accessories, toys, and so much more. They have a good selection of Halloween and Christmas merchandise. The candy section is huge. They carry on trend brands, like Frozen II. The layout makes it easy to navigate between sections. Prices are clearly marked and they have a decent size clearance area. There are rarely associates on the floor.

Phone cases and chargers galore.

Five Below is a discount store where everything is $5 or below (hence the name). They carry a lot of items you wouldn't expect to find in a dollar store like cheap jewelry, yoga mats, and even some clothes. Many of the items are seasonal, and it's a fun place to take kids to pick out toys for the yard or pool. If you do Operation Christmas Child boxes or something similar around the holidays, this would be a great place to find toys and items for those as well. Personally, I love the candy selection at Five Below. There are two large towers, and you can mix and match candies for two price points- 4/$1 and 10/$1. The price is per piece, and they have a lot of candy I grew up eating, like Laffy Taffy, Cow Tails, Lemonheads, Warheads, and Sour Patch Kids. It's like a trip back in time, and I always pick up a dollar or two worth (I don't want a large bag of candy sitting around my house!). Not everything here is the best deal, and the quality is a typical dollar store. The stock changes often, but it's always a fun place to stop after you leave Walmart and the other stores in this shopping center.

W O W I wish our…read moreMaryland TJ Maxx stores would have the same purchasing power demographics! The South Carolina buyers and merchandisers are on-point. This is the store to come to for designer jewelry!

I have found some great pieces here before, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I picked up a few items, including two expensive white pieces, only to realize they BOTH had visible stains on them. I brought them up politely and simply asked Scarlett P if they could be discounted, as this is something that has been done for me at multiple other TJ Maxx locations without any issue. Right from the moment she responded, her tone was rude, sharp, and unnecessarily argumentative. She immediately said, "I can't discount them, but I can put them as is and if the stains don't come out you can return them," in a way that felt dismissive and irritated, as if I was bothering her just by asking. That alone would have been fine if it was store policy, but the delivery was completely off putting. I still calmly asked if this location just does not allow discounts, because I was genuinely curious, not confrontational at all. From there, her attitude only escalated. She became even more aggressive, short, and dismissive, saying, "I'm just doing what I'm told. We don't do that here because it's already a discounted store," in a tone that felt belittling and confrontational. There was absolutely no reason for it. It was uncomfortable enough that even my partner, who was standing there, asked me afterward what her problem was. That is how obvious and unnecessary her behavior was. I want to be clear, if this particular TJ Maxx truly does not offer additional discounts on damaged items, that is completely fine. Policies are policies. But the way I was spoken to was unacceptable. It felt hostile and completely out of line for a simple customer interaction. To make matters worse, she said the items would be marked "as is" on the receipt, but she never actually did that. So now if the stains do not come out, I am stuck having to explain this entire situation just to attempt a return. I have shopped at TJ Maxx for years. Honestly, the majority of my wardrobe is from there, and I have NEVER been treated this way. I have always had positive experiences, which is why this stood out so much. This interaction was so uncomfortable and unnecessarily aggressive that it genuinely made me question whether I want to return to this location at all. No one should feel talked down to or borderline bullied for asking a simple, reasonable question. I want to be clear, this was not about what she said, it was entirely about how she said it. Her tone was so aggressive and confrontational that it honestly felt like she wanted to argue or escalate the situation. I was genuinely confused by the reaction, and to be honest, it made me uncomfortable to the point where I felt a bit intimidated. I also encourage anyone reading this to look at my profile. I rarely ever leave negative reviews, so the fact that I felt the need to write this should say a lot.

There were five of us making decisions, all also remote from each other. Not an easy assignment but Karen was enthusiastic and encouraging all along the way. Karen guided us with Power Point slides of all our choices for our review. Her assistant Emily is equally wonderful and competent. When we finally got to Mt Pleasant to sign papers and make final fabric/rug choices, Karen and Emily were so well organized that we finished in record time with no drama. The store is beautiful with a HUGE showroom floor and many sales. You can't go wrong with this store of Karen. We will be back to buy more after we move into our new home.

That was, until a Black Friday ad showed up on our TV and my hub called out, "Hon, come look at this chair." "Yeah, it could work," I casually replied. I had a plan. First thing, Small Business Saturday, I stopped into J&K Furnishings in the Belle Hall Shopping Center (Long Point Road) as soon as it opened. I was approached immediately by Karen who took me over to the advertised chair. She was knowledgeable and patient, even knowing that there would be no sale. I was there just to check out the chair. Yes, it was comfortable, genuine buttery leather, priced well and was exactly what I wanted. I told Karen that I'd be back the next day with my husband. We returned on Sunday and worked with Ryan who also was patient and low key. He closed the sale. We both appreciated that he did not try to upsell a higher priced chair or other items. We actually asked for a protection plan. Delivery was set and confirmed with an automated phone call. The drivers called as they were on the way. The chair is perfect ... even our our fur son approves! The entire experience was easy. If you're looking to feather your nest, or freshen up tired decor, be sure to check out J&K. I know you'll be satisfied.
