I was a Seller. Be VERY CAREFUL if you're getting ready to MOVE some distance away or out of state and think this would be a good place to sell some furniture, etc. Also be VERY CAREFUL if you are older and are used to good personal customer service. You won't get it....You're on your own, here. 1) Read every single word of the contract before you make that decision. 2) Communication was extremely difficult....couldn't personally talk to the people who could actually answer a question.....even if you go directly to the store. The people you need to talk to are never there. The contract so heavily favors the store owners 3) It will cost you money to transport any bigger items to the store (unless you have friends with pick-up trucks). 4) In the end....we made hardly any money......not worth the energy. 5) And since we were already gone.....we couldn't go back and pick up a piece of furniture (they said did not sell) to see if we could sell it ourselves. Personally.......I would not recommend. I was very disappointed. It was a horrible experience during an already stressful time. read more

I left a piece of furniture with this business on the pretense of a consignment sale. I discover, with no advance notice, the store is closed. All the furnture was removed from the property - just gone! Where is this business and where is my property?? No returned phone calls, consignment website is dead and no returned emails. There must be some legal recourse to pursue here?? read more

This place has got some great deals! They are jam packed with furniture from couches to chairs to tables and more. They have some very high end items that I cannot afford, but that would be a deal for someone with a higher furniture budget. I really love that Lowcountry Resale frequently updates their Facebook page with new items and pictures. They are also very friendly, and will hold an item for a short time to give people time to get over there and buy. I will definitely return soon! read more

As a seller, I would give my things away rather than take them here. First, you have to pay someone to deliver your furniture. then they charge you $10 just to sell your furniture so you start out negative. If they sell your item, you get half, they don't price things very high as they have a lot of people thinking this is a good way to sell items. The small print, that no-one reads, is that if they owe you less than $50 (that means they have to sell your item for more than $100) you don't get anything except for store credit. It's a brilliant way to run a business. You never purchase any merchandise and you rarely pay for the merchandise even after you've sold it. And....everyone owes you to come to your shop whether selling or buying. I did much better on facebook. Lesson learned read more

This review is as a consignor. This is a nice shop, they have a lot of high end items. They try to identify make, manufacturer and original pricing of their items. It's not a bargain basement place, items are good quality and priced accordingly. I sold three items with them. They have a step down pricing scale depending on the time it takes to sell. They also have a $10 account set up fee and you pay a % if the sale is charged to a cc. You can have them pick up your items, which you take a hit for on the percentage of the sale, but if you have large items it's an option. My items sold in a reasonable amount of time but communication with them was a struggle. The online system they use is flawed and does not show you the correct sale price of your items (which they acknowledge). They also do not have a set time to pay you out. My items sold in mid November; I didn't get a check until January 10th (lots of emails, some excuses and just plain non-truths). Seems not ok to charge a % of the cc cost, a $10 account set fee for a system that displays wrong pricing and then take over six weeks to pay me out. I've sold in other consignment shops in the area and have never had a problem with their systems - they simply pay you out on the 15th of every month. Despite them having nice things in the shop, as a consignor the issues with payout was disappointing. read more

I found this store by accident, and boy am I glad I did! The store has a unique blend of traditional and beach decor, with prices that are very reasonable. It's 3:20pm on Saturday and the shop is closed. I have traveled over half hour to visit this place and even called before I left to make sure it was open! The recorded voice mail says if they don't answer, they are on the floor helping people. Update your recording and place your hour of operation accurately on Yelp and your door! So frustrating! Chris and Daniel have a great selection of quality furniture. They went out of their way to find the perfect vanity for my wife's birthday. I used to live in the area and would always pop in and out. Their inventory was always so good and changing daily. Super friendly staff. Their re-upholstery suburb too! I recently moved out of the area and used them to sell the items that would not go into my new place. They sold everything within a month at prices I couldn't imagine getting on my own on.
