No question that they will be coming home with us. As we walked on through we actually got assistance another good thing. We than picked out a dresser for our Master bedroom and a console for our family room. We were led outside to another location that had dining tables. We saw one we wanted but not the right size so we ordered the table and four chairs and two chairs they had we got. So it was a love fest while checking out we got octopus decorative bookends and two glass octopus as well. The bad news minus a star they don't deliver. However they do assist in finding someone who will do it at an additional cost$$$$$$. Several months later the same delivery person delivered the table and four chairs. Very happy with our purchase as well as design advice. Would highly recommend to anyone shopping for furniture.

I feel like the overall vibe of the furniture fits the Charleston area, there was sort of a beach house or summer home feeling to quite a bit of the furniture. I really liked the color schemes and the variety of materials and woods utilized to make the furniture. They have a design center in the back of the store with several fabrics to choose from, apparently they offer some customization of the furniture based on the fabric selections that they have on hand. The customer service was prompt and courteous, I would certainly return.

I visited ALL of the local furniture stores and finally decided on CHD. As soon as I walked into their Showroom, I was greeted warmly and told that a designer would be on the way. As I strolled through the Gallery looking at the items on the floor, I knew I had selected the right place. Mary Kate and Kara were assigned to me and this Design Team was able to pull together a presentation/vision for me in a few days. They worked through every aspect of the planning and implementation with me checking to ensure that I was on board through email, text and by phone. As a Type A person, I enjoyed teaming with these women!! These ladies are professional, detail oriented, and extremely customer focused. When we did encounter a road bump with the dining room chair fabric length, they were able to mitigate the risks with the vendor, come up with a new game plan, and ensure that I was always in the communication loop. We purchased two sofas made by century from chd about a year and a half go. We paid about $10,000…read morefor the two of them. Since we are part year residents here, the sofas didn't get much use until late in 2025. The material is an off white nubby fabric. By early march, 2026 we noticed that fabric, mostly blue, from our jeans and throw pillows, was sticking to the couch. It was sticking in a way that much of it was hard to remove from the sofas and the sofas had developed a blueish cast. We called chd and they said that they would speak with century about it. Things moved slowly so we had the sofas professionally cleaned. That helped a lot but we got stopped using the throw pillows and covered the seating with throws when we sat down. Chd eventually told js that we should bring one of the cushions in to send to century for testing. Before doing so we used a cushion enough so that it picked up some blue fabric from clothing and the pillows. About a month after giving the cushion back we heard from chd that century wasn't going to do anything about the problem. Century could see the problem but decided the blue fabric was easy pull off. It isn't. Centruy said the fabric was not defective and our one year warranty had lapses. Chd suggested we get the sofas cleaned or that we purchase replacement cushions, perhaps at a discount. We passed on that offer since there was no guarantee that the issue wouldn't arise again after spending a lot to replace the cushions. We told chd that we were shocked that they and century saw the problem but were unwilling to do anything anything about it. We told chd that we didn't see any option other than making sure that people were aware of what happened to us and that chd and century would do nothing to stand behind their expensive products . We received no response to that email. So here we are As the expression goes, in our experience m when it comes to chd, its buyer beware

What makes it…read moreso fascinating is their unique collection of varying antiques from places such as Spain, France, England and even Sweden but I'm sure other places as well. They also have a reproduction collection line of their own they term their ACQ Collection with reproductions having been done in Italy. I was shopping for a lamp and trying to visualize how it would look with my other home furnishings. To my good surprise they had a person who handles their in-house decorator and design services who was able to assist me. So if you're looking for a little something out of the ordinary and not found in most other such stores, Acquisitions might be the place for you to go.

A number of these pieces are five, ten, twenty plus years old and still look fabulous and classic. The staff (many of whom we have known for years) are so gracious and helpful and knowledgable. Definitely our favorite stores - and they have wonderful pillows, entertaining pieces, linens, etc. We always look forward to a visit to either store!
