We had an agreement to wait for a replacement for the couches that SMELL LIKE DIRTY FARM FEATHERS and WOBBLE (legs are not the same sizes) and I then heard from the owner threatening me. Just like all the other posts here, their customer service is awful yet the owner tries to claim after 27 years he hasn't had any issues with customers. Yeah, ok pal. I love their style and the furniture, . I spent 3000 dollars on 2 chairs and within 2.5 years the slipcovers are faded so badly that they look tyedied. . Its a lot of money for poor quality. I have to say the customer service has been great! They offered us new slip covers at no cost.. so I update my rating to 5 stars since they stood behind their product. so I went and bought a coffee table and some other stuff. great unique selection! read more

Two stars for rude employee's -maybe one was the owner. No welcome when 3 staff were hanging out in the front area. As I strolled, I lowered my mask to itch the top of my nose. That's when one woman ( maybe owner or Mgr) addressed me to raise my mask which of course I obliged even tho she hadn't noticed me until I moved my mask while she randomly was coming up an aisle. Then she made a dramatic curve to walk as far from me as possible, I guess, to show me also how to distance. I think she should reconsider her career choice in these scary times. Confrontation while trying to spend my hard earned money in her store is last on my list. I walked the store hoping to find a basket I was looking for but didn't see. We came in during the week. Working on a project. Spent thousands of dollars. Not one worker was eager to help us. All the girls up front were irritated that we were adding items to our bill. We asked one girl to help us load up our bags into our car and she was told by another employee she did not need to help us. The employees were openly talking about their personal drama instead of helping. We understand a bad day but we went back the following day to pick up large pieces we had paid for the day before. The employees told us that our order was sent to another location but then told us we could only pick up if we could be at the store in 15 minutes. Unbelievable. It will be very difficult to support a company with such disrespectful customer service. By far the worst we have come across. read more

Celadon is a one of a kind furniture - design - home decor shop. There is nothing else quite like it in Charleston/Mt. Pleasant. They do have a lot of old - retro - antique things. They are very expensive and the Customer Service is so-so at best. They do have a loyal following of "hipsters" and trendy people. (People seem to dress to shop.) It is a must see place for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary with a lot of style. I like their styles very much - and the building they are in is perfect for the things they sell. Absolutely love this place! SO many amazing pieces - they have bedroom/living room furniture, art, table decor, pillows, rugs, figurines, picture frames, mirrors etc. They get new shipments in regularly, so it's constantly changing too which is nice. The employees are always super helpful and they have free wine and beer to sip on while you walk around and shop. No matter where you're at in your decorating stage, there's something here for you to fall in love with. I absolutely love this store. I live close by and shop here frequently. I've never gone with a purpose, but it never takes me long to find something that I "need". There is a small but beautiful selection of house plants and planters when you first walk in, which is one of my favorite parts of the store. If you want to learn more about plants, there are often a few coffee table books about plants, as well. The plants are very reasonably priced and always look healthy. The gift section is wonderful. There are a lot of unique accessories, like purses, bangles, necklaces, and earrings. I love gift cards, and always buy a few whenever I go in because the selection is so quirky and fun. There are lots of different candles and trinkets to buy, as well as gift bags and rolls of wrapping paper to package them in. Mostly, the store has an awesome collection of furniture. There are lots of rugs, couches, tables, and even fun chandeliers. There is a small section for furnishing children's rooms with stuffed animals and a good selection of books. There is also a clearance corner where you can score some awesome deals. I wish I had more space in my home (and a bigger design budget), because I would do a lot of shopping at Celadon! The items they sell are pricy, but they are also high-end and of good quality. This store is amazing and in sane. Absolutely love the vibe, the decor and furniture selections. I just wish I could take it all home and put it in my house. I've seen several comments on here about employees being rude and I did not have that experience but they are very particular about your mask if it slips the slightest on your nose. My mom was the first to introduce me to Celadon when I was a freshman in college, &, even though most of their stock is outside of my twenty-something budget, I've been a fan ever since! They have an eclectic, earthy vibe to all of their items, & everything is excellent quality. My previously mentioned budget may keep me shopping for furniture at IKEA, but Celadon has some great standout pieces to mix with your budget items at a reasonable price. I don't really know how to review a furniture store, but one thing I can say is that this place is huge. I've driven past it every week since I moved here and when I finally went inside it was four times bigger than I had imagined. Not that I had been daydreaming about Celadon, but you know. They had a lot of things that I thought were nice but nothing that really fit exactly what I was looking for. I mostly noticed big dark wood shelves and cabinets. "Old world" decor is here, as are antiques and retro furnishings. A good tip is to check in frequently, as their inventory changes often. I recently purchased a table - thank you to the new young lady who helped me - she's a breath of fresh air to the Celadon staff who are usually very blase with customer service. However, when I returned to pick up the table, this young lady was busy assisting other customers and her fellow staff members didn't even offer to hold the doors open for me as I carried the table out to my car - fortunately, some fellow customers witnessed our difficulty and came to assist. The content of this store is great that's the only reason for the 3 stars. I received the worst customer service and that's putting it politely I was looking for new leather sofas, I walked all the way around the store without anyone saying so much as hello, one worker rushed by me 3 times, she was there putting out new inventory, I get it she wasn't working the sales floor, however say hello and get someone to help, I finally approached her because no one else was around. She found someone to help me, however when I asked what sofas came in leather she was baffled, she left for a long time, finally came back with another employee and a book for me to look through then that lady left and didn't come back forever when she finally came back I asked her about pricing and she didn't have any answers she left again! Now I'd been in the store for almost an hour with no answers to my request for a leather sofa, I finally had to leave I wrote down 2 styles I was interested in and the leather I wanted with my name and number for the woman to call me with a price. That was well over a week ago and I never heard back. Anyway needless to say a very bad experience I won't be ordering my sofas from them. read more

I went there with my daughter last Friday and the employees were very kind and were telling me about there other location in the Charleston area. One of the ladies employees said she would go get me the hours for the other bigger store. She left, but never came back with the hours. I kept walking around and then she came over and asked me to pull my mask up which had just fallen under my nose. She never gave me the hours, but she sure did take it upon herself to come be the mask monitor. That is not good customer service. I nicely told her the masks really are ineffective and we could probably find a better way to which she said. "Well, we have to follow the rules." Then she walked off. Mind you, I was completely social distanced from everyone and it had just fallen! I guess they have lost out on the thousands of dollars worth of furniture I need to furnish our new home. I am not into having people monitor my mask, but not really into helping me find the right products for my home. read more

Some little things for the home, some smaller rugs, a few pieces of mismatched furniture and LOTS of attitude. I've been trying to like this place for the past 10 years since there isn't much else around. On this occasion when i walked in 4 "designers" were standing at the front desk and a two others floating around the store. Not one greeted me or asked if I was looking for anything in particular. When i asked if they had any other picture frames than the one i found, I was told (with a somewhat unpleasant smile ) that I should "look around myself ". Furniture is scattered around but doesn't seem to be terribly well made or of high quality. I wasn't impressed years ago and still not impressed today. Try to return any purchase - you will get to enjoy the fake -friendly and somewhat condescending demeanor of a man who is possibly the manager ? (maybe owner?) If you need a planter or a basket however, this is your place. I'd put this small store in the category of a World Market knockoff. This was my last trip . read more

I went to a co-working popup here recently and it was awesome. We could go sit anywhere to go get work done and I even took a meeting at a private table while I was there. After getting my work done, I made sure to peruse the merchandise. I'm kindof a furniture junkie so I currently have a furniture ban at my house. Until something goes out... nothing comes in. It's okay to look thought right. The store is gorgeous and 100 percent my style. I even saw a buffet table that was almost exactly the same as the one in my dining room. They back a ton of of merch into this space and it seems it will always be rotating because people were coming in to purchase all day. People even bought the table and chairs we were co-working from! I could redo my entire place with the inventory at Celadon. But first I would need to lift the furniture ban on my place and also become very wealthy cause the style at Celadon comes with a hefty price tag too. read more

What a cool place - lots of lovely, unusual pieces with a bespoke vibe. Desks and tables from reclaimed wood, textiles, you name it. There's definitely a coastal feel to the stuff, but not so ostentatious that it would look ridiculous in your non-coastal home. We have purchased a good bit of furniture from Celadon. A lot of their pieces are pricey but they often run 20% off specials. You have to pay for delivery unless it fits in your car :) Overall, I think it is a nice place to get pieces that are unique. They have rugs, accessories, pillows, mirrors, and you can custom order furniture as well. The staff is usually very helpful and they are knowledgeable about the products. I love the style of Celadon and it is a rare gem in the sea of commercially produced blandness that I often find. read more

Lot of cool stuff in here but be prepared to break the bank! Saw lamps for $400, chairs for $1500. Pretty outrageous. However, there was some stuff on sale and they had 20% off on top of that which got things down. Great place to get some ideas and then try to replicate at another store where you could find for cheaper. read more

There is absolutely not a better furniture and gift store in the world. I have bought so many pieces from them including large furniture items down to their super cute greeting cards. And the warehouse is such a bargain. People are constantly complimenting my farm table which is my fave piece by far (only $800 from the warehouse!) read more

I LOVE this store. It has the cutest stuff- it is a bit pricey for certain things but overall I think it's very reasonable. The sad part is, every time I go in there, I have the worst experience with customer service. Every sales associate in there is pretty rude- never greet me, ask if I need help, say anything to me and then when I ask if I can have help with something, they treat it like its a huge inconvenience. Great stuff for the office and home, with a wide range of design and styles, very unique. Pricing is a little over the top, but not absurd. My big complaint is the customer service. My wife and I have both been twice and have experienced a less than favorable experience, solely due to customer service, or lack thereof. Better service would go a long way. read more

I've shopped here for years it has really gone down hill in the last few years . The furniture is very poor quality but the prices are sky high. Drawers don't close smoothly , wood is nicked, but the prices don't reflect that. Plus the staff is very blasé ... Unfortunate!
