If you live long enough, you will experience a first. For me, my first happened this Christmas. I was so busy between working and caring for my mother-in-law that I let the neighborhood grocery store close and I didn't get my dinner items. Talk about being mortified. I knew that I didn't have an option. But I talked to Google and I discovered Opie Drive-Thru Grocery. I was able to place an order and my husband went to Mount Pleasant (1 hour and 7 minutes away from Santee) to pick up the groceries. I prepared our Christmas dinner and it was possible because of Opie Drive-Thru Grocery. Placing the food order was a snap and although there were some items that weren't available, I had those staples in my pantry and fridge. My husband said that picking up our items was a great experience as the young man who assisted him was very friendly and professional. All I can say is that Opie Drive-Thru Grocery saved my Christmas dinner. We could have been eating ham sandwiches and potato chips but instead we dined on homemade lasagna and a garden salad. Found this lovely drive-through gas station/food shop in Mount Pleasant while looking for a tasty treat on yelp. Got a coconut mocha iced coffee that was absolutely phenomenal and then we also got some pastries a doughnut and a homemade pop tart which is absolutely delicious and baked fresh Customer service was exceptional and I love this easy inconvenient concept of a drive-through gas station with amazing prices. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Mount Pleasant. read more

Opie is always an awesome experience. The staff greet you with a smile around the clock. It is very convenient that they are open 24/7. I appreciate all of the staff. I have worked third shift aka the graveyard shift before...it's a completely different universe... vampire mode. Their egg bites make my taste buds dance. The custom beverages are amazing and the sky is the limit! The atmosphere is chill, classy, nostalgic, and has awesome music as the soundtrack. Overall, the Opie experience is awesome. Just a quick little note about this unexpected treat! If you didn't know it, this unique grocery store actually has a drive-thru café! My co-worker told me this week and so I gave it a shot today. I picked up an cold brew and little breakfast sandwich. Cold brew had nice smooth notes and the sandy was delicious. Light fluffy eggs, well seasoned sausage and lovely toasted croissant bun. The smell was heavenly. Really sweet staff, lots of smiles and genuine eye contact. Thank you for making my morning start with such a pleasure. read more

The drive-thru grocery store. A new concept and it's worth trying. So it might be the height of laziness, however this is not designed for all your groceries for the week. Lately I've been working 2-3 late nights a week. This is perfect for the odd one or two items you might need and the idea of parking and going to a grocery store past 9pm doesn't seem worth doing. Go to OPIE!!! You can order ahead and have your items brought to your car. Absolutely love the ease. The items are just your regular groceries and the pricing is much the same as any other grocery store. Definitely a huge help for the workaholics, the physically limited and moms with kids in the car. It gives us all an option to shop! Thank you!!! read more

Literally just drove away from there after getting our order and would have been a more fun experience if the boys working there seemed like they enjoyed working there. Our first time and we had no idea how it worked. Since it's gone viral around town we drove over from James island to check it out! We didn't know what we wanted and obviously didn't want the kid to stand in the heat while we ordered so he walked away and said turn your hazards on when we "figured it out" would of been nice for some direction or suggestions. Then a new kid came out when we put our hazards on and we gave him our order. I figured there was a tip option since the kids were doing a service and I was glad to tip since I do work on the F&B industry. There wasn't and he literally walked away before I could even see on the screen that my payment had been approved. No eye contact or "have a great day thanks for coming" it was just a plain old have a good day huff Maybe some hospitality training would help. read more

Ordering was confusing and the employee seemed mad to be working. Had never been, so asked what to do/ what drinks they had and was told "just normal stuff" and when I specified to what flavors they did redbull he said "there's too many to name so say something and i'll tell you it we have it." The whole concept is confusing for someone pulling through the first time and wasn't explained well upon asking. Drinks were fine at best. read more

This was my first time at Opie and I was very excited as I had only heard great things about it! I arrived around 10 pm and me and my friend waited 15-20 minutes and no one appeared. I tried calling and we even honked but still there was no one. We ended up leaving and I was disappointed I never got to experience it considering they are 24 hours but I understand people have off nights. read more
