First time I had ever been in this store and it was a wonderful shopping experience! We stopped to get my husband measured for a dress shirt and a friendly sales woman was super helpful. He got the right shirt in a very short time. There's a lot of selection here and the store is clean as well organized. The prices are a good value too. It is quite sad when Walmart, Ulta, and Sephora have a better return policy on makeup than Dillards who can see my previous purchase history and how much I spend annually with them. Unfortunately they won't take a $40 foundation that was poorly matched to me back. read more

This Dillard's is nice. It is the most expensive department store in the mall. Dillard's carries quality brands with prices to match. This store is organized. The layout of the store is good and it's easy to navigate between departments. There's a good selection of fashion jewelry, watches, and accessories. The women's shoe department seems smaller than the one at Northwoods mall. I saw a few associates and only one acknowledged me. They carry vintage high end handbags and wallets from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Fendi. read more

Security Employee very obviously lacking social awareness confronted me and my friend for picking up merchandise without checking out immediately as we were obviously still looking around shopping. He claimed that we were trying to walk out despite us being no where near any exit... employee was overweight with glasses and a cap, I would definitely make sure he knows how to properly do his job next time around. read more

Dillard's is the most upscale department store in West Ashley. I don't shop there often, but it's always been my go-to for dresses for things like cruise formal nights. If you're looking for dressy clothes for a semi-formal event or even for work, you really can't beat the selection here. I also feel like the clothes are good quality and as always, you usually get what you pay for no matter where you shop. Dillard's is still cheaper than boutiques and they have sales. Sometimes the sales are really great with additional discounts off already discounted prices, too. I have also shopped here for Vera Bradley items, but the selection varies depending on what's in stock. I'm not sure if Dillard's is understaffed, but it can be hard to find workers to check out your purchases, especially on the second level. Fortunately, you can take your items downstairs and usually find more cashiers. Also the store itself is a little dated looking compared to department stores in other cities, but that's an issue for the entire Citadel Mall, not just Dillard's. Also: They have free wifi! read more

Dillard's at Citadel Mall in West Ashley is one of my favorite department stores in the Charleston area. They have a large selection of quality clothing and other items that are nice and a good value. I really like the men's section as they have one of the largest men's sections of any store in Charleston and plenty of different sections that are causal to business to more formal. The staff here is very helpful and accommodating and does everything that they can do to make you have a great shopping experience. I can reliably find exactly what I am looking for at this Dillard's and am always impressed with the clothing I purchase here and the low prices I am able to get them for. My experiences at Dillard's have all been great. Their shoe department is outstanding! They have excellent variety of shoes, and the sales people are very helpful. I wish Dillard's had more Sales, but I believe that the original prices are lower than their competitors. Dillard's at Citadel Mall is the Charleston region's nicest and most upscale department store. They carry all of the better designer brands that often times can't be found in any of our other area department stores. The location is so convenient and centrally located and the huge 2-story building is always immaculate and well-organized. They always have tons of stock and are never out of specific sizes. It's so odd that an area as prestigious and award-willing as Charleston only has this one Dillard's store as the region's "nicer" department store. This store location would actually make a perfect Dillard's flagship store given its proximity to Kiawah & Seabrook Islands and historic Charleston. With as many socialites and dignitaries always in the area, we're very fortunate to have a store of Dillard's caliber at Citadel Mall. Horrible experience both times I shopped. I figured the first time was a fluke, and the store was having a bad night. I try to give the benefit of the doubt, so I tried shopping there again after a long hiatus. The second time was, unbelievably, even worse. I went with a friend last week and made several large purchases. Two of the staff were short with us and grumpy (even though they were making some good commission off of us). Two other employees, when we asked them something, just shrugged their shoulders and made it clear they didn't want to be there. Another employee chatted on a personal call for a good 10 minutes, while we waited to get help. I called later to speak to the store manager and got disconnected once, hung up on once, and sent to the wrong department the final time. In the future, I'll spend my money in a place that knows the true meaning of customer service. read more

Dillard's at Citadel Mall is the nicest department store in Charleston and the only department store in the tri-county region that carries nicer, upscale brands of clothing and merchandise. It's a very large, two-story store with a really nice home department on the second level. I wish they'd add more exclusive brands of cosmetics (like Chanel). The store is very clean, modern and much nicer than the Belk store in this mall. I can always find anything I am searching for and the salespersons are very friendly and helpful. I love this Dillard's location! read more
