Love shopping at Costco, I always buy more than I need. I do regularly shop for essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, vitamins, cat litter, etc. I also love their wine selection and their prices. But there are many, many products to shop for here. My husband recently bought prescription glasses and saved a good amount on the frames. The store has a busy parking lot, but the spaces are wide. The only improvement would be the checkouts. The self checkouts never have enough room for customers to que up and people end up blocking the area. But the store layout is good, the merchandise always is varied, and service by cashiers is friendly. They have a separate liquor store and you csn save on purchases here too. read more

Terrible Experience!! I used their online service to select the tires. No one contacted me to let me know that they had them. I called them and scheduled an appointment. I checked in at the scheduled time, but they forgot that they had my car. After catching that they hadn't even started on my car after the 1 1/2 hours it was supposed to take they then took another half an hour to determine that the tires they sold me wouldn't work and they didn't have anything that would. The only thing I wish they would change is open earlier and later, especially on weekends. Closing at 6pm on weekends can make it challenging to get here in time, especially when they don't open until 10am. Otherwise fantastic selection, very clean store. The fruits and produce section is incredible with variety such as dried jackfruit or fresh dragonfruit! Just the best warehouse experience in town. Better than other location or competitors. My go tos here are rotisserie chicken cheaper than I can make it, dog supplies, paper products, cleaning products, berries, and cheeses. Wines are hard to beat in selection and prices. Food court pizza and hot dog w soda for $1.50 (same price since 1984!). Did you know that Costco sells 4X more hotdogs than all of MLB stadiums combined?! Plus we get our tires here and appliances. Last week of February Review This is my favorite place to do my everyday shopping. I'm lucky enough to live close to the Mount Pleasant Costco. It's February 28th and Spring is in bloom at Costco. They have their patio and garden giddies in stock. They have furniture sets, garden lighting, fire pits and heating lamps. There are gardening tools, soils, planters and bulbs. This week the specials that caught my eye- Beyond Burger $10.99. This is the best burger ever! They also have chocolate bombs in stock. THE thing of 2020-2021! For me, buying a pair of glasses is just about as difficult as finding a swimsuit. You see, my face is small, necessitating a petite frame, and let's just say, the selection is not plentiful. I've spent crazy amounts of money on frames and lenses at a high end optical retailer downtown but for my last pair, I switched to Costco and they worked just fine. So, when my prescription changed last month, I headed out to Costco, again. They are COVID responsible ... everyone was masked ... and social distancing is enforced. Shoppers in the optical department must have a prescription, there to pick up glasses, or for an adjustment. Every pair of glasses tried on by a customer is placed in a tray and sterilized before returning to the displays. The number of customers in the department at any given time is limited. I actually called ahead to scope out the available of narrow frames and had a delightful conversation with Amy. I got her schedule. Arriving before her, I had an opportunity to browse the frames and found two pairs that I thought would work. Obviously, this was challenging as customers must remain masked. Amy arrived on the selling floor, looked at my prescription and evaluated how each pair of glasses looked on me. She then said that she wanted me to try a pair that she thought would suit my small face, better, as well as accommodate my complex prescription and she was right. They looked and felt great. I'll have my new glasses within 10 days. Thank you, Amy! read more

Of all the warehouse clubs, I feel like Costco's premium membership is worth it because my cash back rebate each year more than pays for the cost of membership- not to mention, I save a lot of money buying gas and groceries (especially specialty items) here. Plus, you can order a lot of items on Costco's website and have them delivered, and shipping is free. This location is a little different than the West Ashley location, layout wise. The biggest downside, for me, is the lack of a self-checkout. I often pop into Costco for one or two items, and here, I have to wait in the line (West Ashley has six self-checkouts now). The food court has a self-serve kiosk, but I'm not quite sure that saves much time as the line just accumilates at the kiosk rather than the counter. If you're close to this Costco and want to join a warehouse club, I'd recommend it. You can shop at any Costco, which is a plus, but I'll stick with West Ashley's since the differences are minimal and it's closer to my house. read more

Folks. I love Costco. You can't beat the price on the Kirkland vodka. The 12 yr old single malt blend is affordable to the average person. It isn't McCallan but then nothing else is. The ravioli lasagna is surprisingly filling. The pierogi is as close to home made as you will find (not frozen ). Put them in a slow cooker w stick of butter and an onion for 4 hrs. Yum. There are a lot of deals if you shop smart. Only 4 stars because of the angry old guy working electronics who ignored us for a while and then acted like we were taking him away from his break. The newer Mt. P. Costco has tons of parking and never seems to be busy. Currently they have TONS of Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas for the summer season. Produce, dairy, frozen foods, beer, and wine are my favorite deals to shop in Costco. Gas prices are great. I've noticed this Costco does not have as great of a wine selection as the West Ashley location. If you see something you like at Costco, snatch it up then, because inventory is always changing. I'd recommend paying the extra $60/year to become an executive member. The refund check I receive always pays for my entire membership and then some. read more

After taking a year off from Costco to give Sam's Club a try I am very happy to be back as a Costco member again. Sure it's more expensive for a Costco membership, but so worth it. This Costco location in Mt. Pleasant is very nice. They have everything you would expect of a Costco from the tire center to electronics to deli to meats to produce to cleaning supplies to etc.... They got it all in one location. The store is very clean and most of the workers were very nice; there were a couple of women working with that Mt. Pleasant attitude, but the rest seemed really cool. Believe me when I saw that Costco was going up in the woods behind Highway 17 around Carolina Park and near Wando I shook my head! However I am thrilled they are there. My daughter goes the Wando is extremely active and this makes it very convenient for me to stop him on the way there and back. I've been to Costco now, several times. The store is so close by it makes sense to go for supplies including gasoline whenever I need to stock up. I love it here but I always make a list. If not your in deep water. Everything looks so enticing and when in the store you feel you need it. Then you are at the check out with sticker shock so to speak. They have everything and more that you need. I love the specials they have once or twice per month. Currently it's handbags from the likes of Michael Kors and Kate Spade to name a few. Not all Costco stores are created equally and this Mount Pleasant location is evidence of that! When we moved to Charleston I was excited for West Ashley Costco despite the distance from our Summerville home. It was busy and chaotic but filled with the same upbeat positive employees I have been accustomed to meeting at Costco locations across the country! But then... Mount pleasant costco arrived! With their streamlined food court ordering, mostly the same products as West Ashley location and surprisingly and consistently less dense crowds, I always prefer to go to "New" Costco. Also, for me in Summerville/Goose Creek, the locations are about the same distance so, when given the choice, I'm dealing with Mount Pleasant traffic over West Ashley's! Lastly, I have somehow convinced myself at least 3 times that I lost keys or a wallet etc at this Costco location. And I have to give big props to the admin office for always being patient and kind with my "please check lost and found!!" Pleas. (Note: each time I found my items at my home or car. This particular Costco in Mount Pleasant is a monster store. If you're looking for things to be in the same general location as the West Ashley store then you will be, like me, wandering around for quite a while trying to find something. With a larger size store you have a lot more variety and each one of the areas such as men's clothing. Also the checkout Lanes have more room for the grocery carts to be lined up without blocking people trying to get through from one part of the store to the other. Of course this location also has gasoline and that also is larger. As always with Costco it was a great experience and a heck of a lot more money spent than I ever had planned for. read more

So I gas up(motorcycle )at Costco(Mt. Pleasant ), the only station I use and spend upwards of 12k a year in gas just my 4x4 not even counting the cars or bike. About 3 weeks ago literally 2 minutes after leaving about a mile and a half after the gas up my bike shuts off and it hasn't cranked since. So I troubleshooted the entire day not finding the problem. Then I thought it couldn't be the gas it's Costco! However I went back the next day and spoke with the gas attendant(she happens to be the manager) she was there the day prior when I filled up and she speaks to me EVERY TIME I'm there and told her what happened immediately after leaving there yesterday, she was shocked, concerned and told me when I find out the problem to please let her know, if it actually was the gas they would take care of it, because she absolutely remembered me gassing up both vehicles there one after the other as I ALWAYS do and it's on cameras/have receipts. In fact EVERYTIME I've been there since the mishap, gassing up my truck(there every 2 days), she's inquired about it. So I made a service appointment which is a 3 week wait. I get the diagnosis and IT IS CONTAMINATED GAS that caused my bike to quit working, so now I need the tanks, lines flushed and needs a new fuel pump. I take the printed out diagnostic test to them, stating that it was in fact the gas, from the shop. For one, whoever the store manager is that the gas manager took me to.......his energy was all wrong, attitude was rude and very very passive aggressive to where I had to tell him I'm not the enemy here, I'm a very loyal customer that spends alot of money there just on gas alone......etc. So after convincing him that I was a human being and deserved respect like I gave to him, he began to be more receptive, then he gave me the claim sheet to which we filled out and was to be contacted by the claim department. To which it was denied, because they said no one else had a complaint that day. I'm one of a few motorcycle owners that gases up there, because of the way the nozzle works. Then I learned that it very well could've been a concentrated patch of detergent that they treat their gas with, to which in a 10 to 20 gallon gas tank(car/truck) it may have space to disperse evenly therefore NOT strain the engine and drive fine, however in a 2.5 gallon tank(motorcycles) not so much therefore ruining the fuel pump, lines, have to be flushed and hopefully not ruin the engine. However they're still responsible! SO I WILL PAY FOR THE DAMAGES OUT OF POCKET(close to $1000) AND TAKE MY NEARLY 20k a year in gas purchases (all my vehicles) somewhere'z else from here on out! MORAL: GAS UP AT COSTCO AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DIME, I WILL NEVER AGAIN!‍ read more

You can shop here with blinders on and know you are "always" getting the best price and highest quality be it food or clothing. It is our go-to place for meat and vegetables and they always have an organic option. Bulk packaging isn't as big as other club stores. Clothing is high quality, eyewear, RX, and hearing depts are convenient. The $1.50 hot dog and the rotisserie chicken is the best deal in America.
