Great Walmart - I once found a really competent guy here in the electric department who helped me find some cell phone stuff and a turkey baster. Solid character had the whole place memorized. I usually just wander in a daze - can't find what I'm looking for - get distracted - buy stuff I don't need... not with this guy. He helped me stick to my shopping list and efficiently find everything. Most recently I went in for some laundry detergent. I usually use All free, clear and gentle pods for HE (high efficiency front load machines) but I wanted some other stuff in pod form for my top loader that is maybe not as gentle. If laundry detergent doesn't come with lots of perfume and give you a rash it can't be the strongest, right? Found some stuff with Oxy clean and I will give it a whirl especially in my top loader with the whites and bleach (I use my front loader for more gentle cleaning of darks where I wouldn't want to put my fragile holy jeans in anything with an agitator. I usually go through two extra rinse cycles - why not? Water shortage is over. Found some $10 leather repair in the car aisle, a pillow made with rayon bamboo cover (good to keep you cool - the best hawaiian shirts are out of rayon) and another magnetic phone mount for another vehicle I just bought... I usually need GPS and am always lost - did you know Tassajara and Santa Rita was the same street?! Those sneaky people. read more

Went here on a Monday to the optical area. No one was in there and it was the WORST!! The two men running the front are complete morons. I sat here for an hour and a half while one man was trying to figure out how to work the computer so I could purchase glasses with insurance. He's sitting there stalling and eating right in front of me waiting for his co worker to get back. When he gets back it's even worse. They both have no clue what they are doing! This Walmart is an average store and can certainly be improved. I have visited this store a few times, and I have mixed feelings about it. When you shop here, beware of the large number of homeless people who are parking out by the north end of the parking lot. For your safety, park close to the store and away from them. I have used the Moneygram services and this was done easily and very fast. I would recommend the wire services they provide, their rates are also very competitive. The grocery store has an average selection of products, they have a small frozen section and dairy section, but do not have a produce department. They also have a few aisles with groceries. I was able to find here a few things from different brands that other stores do not carry. I like this only because it offers some variety. For example, they had Famous Dave's cornbread, Palmier pastries (in the Hispanic aisle), and also Mexican Frosted Flakes (Zucaritas) and Cocoa Crisps (Choco Krispis) which have SUGAR as an ingredient instead of the awful fructose corn syrup! I also discovered a detergent with no Phosphates called Blanca Nieves Snow White! So you can tell I was having fun just buying different things not usually found at other stores. I removed a few stars for the following: Since we are during Covid-19, I was hoping to find antibacterial gel, disinfecting wipes, or some other cleaner near the carts, but the dispenser had run out. I also noticed that some of the employees were not wearing their masks correctly. A couple of them were wearing homemade masks that were not fitting correctly and left almost all their noses exposed, I also noticed some customers inside the store who had removed their masks and were wearing them around their neck. Also, I was trying to find some dumbbells that according to their website they still had 5 in inventory, but when I showed up, they had none at all. So their inventory on the website is not very accurate since this is the second time this has happened to me! Other than that, prices are very competitive and you can save money by shopping here. This is also a convenient location to purchase 5-gallon water jugs. I would recommend that you check out their Hispanic selection of products, and consider trying them out, I noticed that if the products are manufactured n Mexico, such as soda pops, jam, cereals, cookies, the items use SUGAR instead of the awful High Fructose Corn Syrup. read more

I order a pair of tires on the so call .com place the order on the 9th and they could not give me an ETA on the store so I schedule my installation for the 18th went there just to be told that the tire were there but they don't have the release form ?? Went today to return a battery that did not hold a charge. I waited at the normal return line for a bit before the lady told me to go to automotive because the front will not accept batteries. When I got there I spoke to another lady who had asked me why I was returning it, and I told her because it only lasted one day before it wouldn't crank anymore. They must have a new company policy in place because she then wanted to test the charge on it. Not a big deal to me but silly because I didn't want a battery that failed on me. Regardless of how much charge it may or may not have, they should still accept it, (in my opinion) because most places have a good return policy. Anyways, she grabbed one of the shop workers to help her conduct the test, and of course it came up with a low voltage, but they were mumbling to each other so as if I should not hear the conversation which was shady. I felt very disrespected because they did not believe me that my battery had failed, and on top of that were unwilling at first to help me out. I asked if they could do a cash return too, just because I don't know how long it takes to go back on my card, but then they told me I should have gone to the front return desk. Bullshit. they just didn't want to do it for whatever reason. I usually buy my batteries from here, but this time it was a pre charged battery, which had me suspicious from the start, but i bought it anyways for about 90 bucks (used to be about 65 dollars) so of course I am upset that I was treated this way. The old batteries they sold allowed you to charge them at home which never ever failed on me. Thank you for reading this, I will never buy a battery from this walmart again especially after the way I was treated, and if anyone else is looking to buy them, or use their automotive services, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere even if you have to spend 20 to 30 bucks more for an oil change. Two months ago, I had given the same Walmart a FIVE star review, I generally do not write bad review for anybody but this incidence really triggered me to do so. Last week I had bought 4 money orders using my Debit card and due to some reasons had to return it. At the customer service/returns counter I met this arrogant, rude and racist person named "DIANA" one of the most chronic senior person at Walmart as I have been seeing her for ages (since 2000), ahead of me there were two Caucasians customers returning their stuff and she spoke so well with them and when my turn came she went out of her counter to meet her friend (who was with her family) and started yapping for a long time. On her return I was polite and wished "Good Afternoon" without any response from her and when requested to cancel my Money Orders, The first thing she said that was "it's not REFUNDABLE" and when insisted why? she asked rudely "Where is all the paperwork give me paperwork, paperwork, paperwork now" I asked her should I fill up any specific papers?, as this was my first return in years, she said I need all the paper works I too was bit confused and asked do you want the receipt and proof of purchase she 'yes' in a very rude way, I had scanned copy of the receipt on my phone when showed her she said we cannot accept this and need the real receipt then only I can try. I had to leave the counter with a bitter feeling. I had receipts in the car, but I was mad with the whole experience and wanted to complain this to the Supervisor or the Manager, but I respect Women and as she was a senior citizen too, so I just went home. Today, I came back with the original receipts and to my misfortune I saw her on the counter talking to a white Guy for minutes and never paid attention to the customers they were talking about his fitness and he showed her he could jump and he is physically fit, probably they were having a great time flattering each other and here I come again, seeing me she was not happy at all, neither she told me to wait nor asked me to be patience, on my turn she again asked me the same question why do you want to return the Money orders, I stated my reasons and then she did this whole New Drama that her counter was not processing the Money orders and checked with other counter too and used words like "FUCK" and threw those Money order at me and said the machine does not work so I have to call the Support team, for which I said please call the team, I can wait, to which she said it will take more than an hour and I have to wait so I again insisted her to call the person responsible for which she said I can't call and there a big line and said she is busy (THIS ATTITUDE CLEARLY NARRATES THAT SHE WASN'T INTERESTED IN HELPING ME AND SHE WAS NOT HAPPY TO SERVE AS I WASN'T CAUCASIAN THIS IS NOTHING BUT A DISCRIMINATION ON HER PART AND WALMART). THEY HAVE CAMERAS THEY CAN CHECK IT, THERE WERE ONLY TWO CUSTOMERS. When we are in the queue we wait for hours sometimes, but she wasn't ready to call the support team and when I raised my voice, she become so furious that as if she wanted to trash me, and I became adamant to see the support staff. Then I meet a most wonderful person named DIGNA who was able to help me, even though she never knew all the process she had a will, a desire to help and was continuously on the phone getting instructions to do the right thing and she was able to refund me. I am sure DIANA is a rude, arrogant, racist, mean, and self-centric, chronic fragile staff in The Whole of Walmart chain stores. these types of people fuel hatred and animosity while Walmart loses its reputation, it's the people who make the companies great!! Hire some good People. I would urge the Managers to investigate this matter on a serious note as this may have a potential for a lawsuit for lying and discriminating customers. read more

I am not a fan of Walmart, but I needed a certain item that the Walmart in Oakland didn't have in stock and the Davis Street one in San Leandro had 4 of them. I did some research on the Walmart website to see which one of the store had the item I was trying to purchase for a birthday event in September. I needed at least 12 Libbey's Royal Grape Floral Bud Vase. Since I was not familiar with the store layout and it was my first time being in this store, I had the model number, the Walmart number and the UPC code ready to pounce on these vases. Get them, pay for them and head out the store, but not so quick because my GF's were with me and they wanted to purchase a few items, too. I had the manager to assist me on this one. I gave him my information and he was nice enough to take me to the section where they carried the vases. Alas, they only had six on the shelf and none in their stock room. I grabbed them and started to get to the checkout stand, but one of GF's stopped me dead in my track and asked me to put my items in her cart, as she was not done shopping. Okay, I wandered around, I found movie theater boxes of candies (milk duds, raisinets, jr. mints, etc) at .98 each, Palmolive Oxy for $2.64 (25 oz bottle) and Dove Hair Spray for $3.64, grabbed those items, too...that's it...no impulsive shopping...no more looking and browsing around...otherwise, I'm gonna end up spending more money. Thank goodness, I walked out of there, just paying about $25.00 on my purchases. I still had to get another six of the Libbey's Royal Grape Floral Bud Vase...okay, on to the next Walmart - the one in Pleasanton - to find them. The venture continues on and off the freeway before I head home. Finally, this Walmart is cleaner and a lot more organized than the one on Davis Street and hella lot better than the one in Oakland. Walmart is an essentials-only store. This one was okay. It was decently organized and had a clean restroom, and the greeter was friendly. Normally, I shop Target but since there are no Super Targets, things close early, and many Walmart locations are open late. I've been buying the store brand soy milk at Walmart over the past 6 or so years, and there are a few other essentials. I don't really care for the circus-like atmosphere of most of the stores but this was one of those times when I needed a thing or two. The employees cannot be bothered to even say hello at checkout. I came to this Walmart even though it's almost 30 minutes away from my house because they had a certain bike I was looking for. I noticed that the bike I wanted seemed like it was a return. I kindly asked an employee to help me possibly get a discount because of the scuff marks and dirt on the tires. Plus it had no tag or manual. Also didn't have the cardboard in between the wheels which has the bike size. All the other new bikes had these to identify that they are brand new. The employee told me to go find manager Chiu. When I found manager Chiu I politely showed him the multiple scuff marks and the dirt on the tires. He said no I can not help you. Even if it was not a return, majority of big companies would provide a 10% off discount just because of the damage to the bike. But no Mr Chiu said no. I asked him nicely to come with me to the bike section so I can show him the difference between the newer bikes and this used one. Again he said no I don't want to go there. I don't know how Mr Chiu is a manager if he can't even help or even show good customer service. I wouldn't have made a big deal about it but he seemed like he just didn't want to help. To be fair I did come near closing time but that does not excuse his behavior. read more

She hollered, you have to take your stuff outside and bag it. I asked if I had to pay for a bag to get it in a bag and she said yes. This rating is mostly for the fishing and outdoors section of Walmart. I deducted 1 star because the customer service is usually TERRIBLE (read on to find out why, or skip to the bottom), but they do have pretty good selection on rods, reels, and bait & tackle for a pretty good price. Although, they are not very well made. And I will tell of my experience with that: I bought a combination rod and reel here to experiment with while fishing, and was pretty excited to try it out on the lake. The brand was Tiger, obviously an inexpensive rod, but we college students don't have a lot to work with, so I parted with $40, and took my new rod out on the lake (and my old one, my dad gave me as a back up. Thank goodness I did). So I cast out and play the waiting game. What happens when I get a bite? My reel SPLINTERS into a million pieces of cheaply made plastic all over the boat. The rod was perfectly fine and has NOT caused me any trouble since... BUT my fish got away. So I was not a satisfied customer. Be weary when you buy them together for so cheap. They are probably that price for a reason. I didn't bother returning it because I couldn't find my receipt, but the rod has held up pretty well, so I guess it wasn't all bad. Good prices will only come so far if the materials they make your product out of are so cheap and poorly designed. I will probably restrict my purchases to designated tackle shops from now on, with the exception of soft baits. (The selection is huge) One comment from the cashier irked me to this day though. As I was purchasing my rod, the cashier looks at my friend (a guy, who, btw has never fished before. I was teaching him), said "aaaw, cute. You're teaching her to fish?" I thought that was a little presumptuous if not somewhat rude, I know plenty of girls who like to fish and are quite good at it. :-) read more

Not a fan of Wal-Mart in general but I needed a printer and this was the only store that had my model in stock nearby. I came by during off-peak hours. I utilized purchase online and pickup in store. This feature was great! Knowing that my item would be waiting for me and I didn't have to search for it in store was such a help. The only downside is that pickup is in the back of the store so you have to walk through the entire store. In Target it's in the front of the store so it's much faster. read more
