I love this pharmacy! I changed from CVS a year ago and have never looked back. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient, and they have all of the necessary vaccinations I need - include the egg-free flu vaccine that nobody around here has (I used to have to drive to a compounding pharmacy in Fremont to get it). They also have a nice private waiting room just for pharmacy customers awaiting their vaccinations, and another private room where they give the vaccinations. I have never had to wait long either. They are also great at getting ahold of my doctor if a prescription runs out, and prescriptions can also be filled automatically should you opt for that. They also give you a coupon for a discount on your grocerys when you have your vaccination. I notice that most of the bad reviews here are quite old, so maybe they have had a change of staff. I have been very happy there and would recommend it to anyone looking for a better pharmacy and vaccination experience. read more

I had a really good experience here, once (when women were working), but then I went back with my daughter, to get her a booster, and the pharmacist (a dark haired short man) was incredibly rude to her. She has a disorder that makes her immune compromised and yet he refused to let her have a Covid booster recommended by her doctor. Mine was so easy to get, and the 10% off coupon was so great, I told my daughter we could get her boosted and then go shopping. What a mistake. He didn't even let her explain she had immune issues- and really, does she have to be grilled over that where everyone can hear? I will never, ever go back here. It's horrible to be treated badly when you are just trying to do the right thing. I'd find somewhere else- anywhere else. read more

Pharmacy Hours- Mon - Fri 9 - 8 PM Sat - Sun 9 - 5:30 PM I had been bitten by a random pet owner's dog on a weekend day & it just so happened that it was also about 8+ years since I had had a tetanus vaccine. Looking for a cheap alternative than going to my private Dr., I called local pharmacy drugstores. I found a gem in (I'm reading from her biz card) Karen Maguire @ the local Safeway pharmacy in Livermore, CA. She was great! Not only got me in on a Sun. like 20 mins before closing, but also had returned my calls, arranged an appt time... answered any Q's I had about the shots... and the vaccine itself took less than 5 mins. It cost me less than $50. (cheaper than Walgreens & CVS) she explained any adverse reactions if I did have them, gave me her card & also gave me the peace of mind knowing that I could return for say a pain killer recommendation if needed. Highly recommend Karen for flu shot / tetanus & any other vaccines avail. at this location. read more

One of the worst pharmacy's when it comes to customer service. I had arranged for a delivery due to the pandemic. I was told that the delivery would happen between 12 and 4. I called at 5:30 and the lady who answered the phone seemed very angry that I was calling to "bug" her. I asked about my delivery and she said I did not exist in the system. After telling her that I did exist, she found me and said the delivery man had just left and should be there between now and 7:30pm. I tried to confirm what she had said because she had a heavy accent and it was hard to understand her at times. But I guess she was done with me because she hung up. I need to go back to Rite Aide. They have the nicest people at all their branches! I will transfer my script. I suggest all of you do the same and hopefully Safeway will get the message and educate their team on better customer handling and service. read more

This pharmacy is fantastic. I can call this pharmacy and speak with someone right away. They have called my doctor for additional information. They call you direct if there is a problem. There is no 5 hour waiting. I changed from Walgreens as I got tired of getting frustrated and waiting days for my prescription. We have been using this pharmacy for many years and have always had good and accurate service. In the last 2 months they are making mistakes in dispensing amounts and the wait at the counter has been long and not very friendly. I have medication that I have been picking up on a regular basis for years. Now it's been 3 days going on 4 because they ordered it but have no idea why it's not in stock. The old staff was awesome and this replacement staff sucks!!! I ordered the refill 1 week in advance so this should give these geniuses time to order it and have it ready so I'm not sitting without medicine for however long. You call and they give you the same explanation over and over again. I'm sorry we ordered it a while ago and have no idea what happened our computer shows that we should have it Monday after 3. Did any of you think to check and make sure things are ordered and supposed to show up when they are? This is people's lives not some Christmas toy or an Amazon product! This will be the last time I use this stupid pharmacy for my medication, and I will also let others know to switch because this place is a JOKE?!!! I have always had issues with this pharmacy. The staff is not very friendly and you are standing there waiting several minutes without any explanation of what is going on. My prescriptions are never ready when they're supposed to be. Do yourself a favor and pick a different pharmacy so you don't have to waste your time and energy. read more

I thought I had written a review already. This pharmacy saved me from my pharmacy nightmares since leaving kaiser. First off, never go to CVS; you will wait until your feet hurt, then wait in another line, then hear excuses about why your insurance won't cover your medicine (sometimes different reasons from different employees). But then I went to Safeway and met Kay and never had to deal with any of that ever again. I'm always in and out in 10-15 minutes, even when they need to fill my RX. They let me call ahead to order RXs they don't usually stock, even though I don't have the paper RX yet. All the employees are always extremely nice. Kay and Annie have, in my eyes, gone above and beyond to get pre- approvals, refills faxed, and RXs filled before I left for vacation. Even though I live much closer to the other Safeway and could use Rite Aid to my RXs, I still come here because I know it'll be a hassle free experience. Keep it up Safeway Pharmacy!!! read more

I've had 2 scripts that ended up being speciality drugs. My insurance would not allow Safeway to fill them. The pharmacy coordinated the transfer of both to my insurance choosen company as well as notified my doctor. Both required them to really go above and beyond as it wasn't their job to be the middle man to get me my meds. I am grateful. Everytime I go into the store to get meds they are helpful, friendly, and work as quickly as possible with the highest customer service. They really do try to attend to the needs of us all. read more

I have on several (More than 10) occasions spoke to cashiers and the bakery department about the Safeway select Sourdough long loaf,most of the time the shelf is empty in the afternoon,when It is actually in stock the loafs are out of date. The Pleasanton and store 910 don't have this issue, as well as Lucky's. In fact in the afternoons most of Safeway#1257 has stocking issues in almost all of it's departs with the exception of Produce and the Meat departments. The deli is never staffed properly. I have actually called the customer help desk after waitng 20 minutes for someone to show up behind the counter. Time to shop elsewhere, because obviously the management hasn't cared enough to resolve these ongoing issues! read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for as long as I can remember. When I first started going there everyone was so friendly and was very helpful. I knew everyones name, everyone knew both me and my mom. Then when they redid the pharmacy not the last time this month, but the time before that in late 2012, they changed their staff. There was a new guy who was very very rude, and made me feel uncomfortable. He got all of my information wrong, told me I was wrong even though I knew for a fact I wasn't. I called in for my prescription to see if it was ready, and one lady said it was all ready to be picked up. He kept denying that they had filled it. He said over and over that I had to wait another hour for it to get filled. Turned out it was right in front of him on the counter. The second incident was with the same man. I needed my prescription early. It was birth control. I don't take the placebo pills so I need it about three weeks early. I had my doctor write a note and send it to the pharmacy. I have been doing this for a good 2 years now. This was the first time I have ever had trouble with this. He was very rude and would not fill my prescription for me. Eventually another lady went on the computer and 5 minutes later found the note my doctor wrote for me. This last week was another rude encounter with yet another new employee. I gave her my name, and said I was picking up my prescription. She asked my name three times in a very rude tone. I spelled it out for her she still didn't get it. Then she asked what I was picking up. I ended up having to tell her what I was picking up 4 times. She then asked me my birthday. Yet again she asked 4 times for my birthday. Every time she asked me my birthday she repeated it back jumbled and not even close to what I said. It was very irritating because it was a slow time of day and it was quite when I was talking to her. There was no way she didn't hear me. My boyfriend who was standing even further away from me than she was heard clearly everything I was saying. She was very rude, and snappy with me. She could have just asked me for my id in the end and it would have been easier and a lot more pleasant. I am definitely changing pharmacies after this incident. I left this day steaming with anger. I know for a fact that many many other customers are upset. I wouldn't be surprised if this pharmacy loses customers. I stood in line for 20 minutes with only one person in front of me. It was unacceptable. There were two people in the back just chatting while the person at the register was obviously struggling. I was talking with the woman behind me and she was also very upset and complaining with me. Safeway pharmacy has gone down hill very quick. Even the old employees who were sweet are bitter and angry now. read more

After working in corp. for 13 years I can say Albertsons is running Safeway terribly. My doctor sent my prescriptions in on Wednesday before 2 and I knew they would not be ready so I went Thursday morning and they still were not ready they were never pulled from the computer. I tried calling before I went in but they automatically put me on hold never said a word. When I got the inhaler they never asked if I used one before I was told if I had a question I could call them. Albertsons it's a shame you are using Safeway name because you don't have the qualities that Safeway had. Now you are going to take Rite Aids pharmacy OMG this is not good. read more

I always was pleased by this Safeway even that, like other customers are saying, is always packed and the lines are moving very slow because sometimes the cashiers have long conversations with customers. I've started to work swing shift and most of the times I reach Safeway half hour past 12. I thought that the store is open 24h but it happened to me once when they announced thru the intercom that the store will close in 15 min and me and the other customers were able to reach to the register before closing time. Tonight they just announced thru the intercom that they closed the store. I almost ran to pay for my groceries but when I reach the cash register 2 ladies that were standing close to the customer support area told me in a nonchalant way that I'm too late and I cannot pay... Thank you very much, you lost me as a customer!!! I really hope that someone in charge sees this review to check out what is going on over there because I don't think this behavior is acceptable and professional. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by how great the Safeway pharmacy was for immunizations. My daughter is leaving the country and will be visiting multiple countries. We thought it would be much more involved getting all the shots and pills she would need for her trip . Safeway made it very easy and even figured out what would work the best with our insurance. I would definitely recommend them for any travel immunizations that you would need. read more

This store used to be a pleasant pharmacy to attend until recently I am always seeing new faces and many unhappy customers (like myself.) I overheard that they cut the hours of all the regulars who had been very kind and quick with my medication orders. I am not the only person that feels the frustration (overheard some other dissatisfied customers in the line ahead of me.) Looks like safeway looks at numbers at not its employees/customers, and I had no choice but to transfer out my medications. read more
