I am using this pharmacy now for my mom as she was at Rite Aid that closed and sent everyone here. It feels like this pharmacy is so overwhelmed it is doing all it can really. I've been here 4-5 times now the last couple months for my mom's prescriptions. I was hoping someone would stand out so I could comment "wow!" .. hasn't happened I haven't had rude or terrible service, but it could be better. Transition from Rite Aide - not great, have to call on everything, won't refill and issues with getting insurance to work again. Service, not rude, not happy to serve me, just always somewhere in between, probably because the line is always about 6-8 people deep.. The app is horrible if you come from Rite Aide, you see nothing, after getting that resolved, adding as a family member took about 3 weeks to straighten out too.. much of this is CVS in general and not particular to this store as I personally use the one on the other end of town too. I wish it would be less busy so I could acutally tell if the people here care about us at all.. though, phone calls have been very short too, considering the prompts and hoops we jump through for a human, we should matter more! read more

The worst Mgr by the name John at this location! Lazy as hell, I actually experience at their photo dept, the printer for photos was down so I told him why don't you post a sign so we're not using it, & wasting our time...then he tells me to use it online, because it's going to take time for him to fix it, that's fine I understand. Meanwhile the printer started printing photos, & he said they were from orders from yesterday so he told me not to wait, I told him that's fine but what happens to all those photos printing, right now he had no answer!! He said he doesn't know who ordered what?!!! So I feel so for those who had those pics printed, lord knows what they will do with them, so I told him to put up a sign so no one will waste there time, his reply "I just got here" unbelievable, lazy as hell & he's the Supervisor, blows me away read more

I have already reviewed CVS at 1500 First St in Livermore CA. It is a heaven for me. I am an ExtraCare member and end up with so many discounts on every conceivable thing. They are however not well stocked for Diabetes testing. I need a new Verio machine for Blood glucose testing. Have tried many times ; it's not in stock. I refuse to go anywhere else but to this CVS. I would rate it 10/10 in customer service. Two Spanish people Melchor and a lady - who speak great English too - they are ever helpful. Because of its location- it is quite a busy place. We were forced to return here after Rite Aid in Livermore closed. Your pharmacy sucks, and your call system REALLY sucks. It's incredibly difficult to get a pharmacist on the phone, through the maze of their automated phone nonsense. And none of the transferred prescriptions show up on your app. There was a reason we left, and we hope to leave again. read more

Horrible no refund on un-open generic off-the-shelf non-prescription item even within 2 days purchased from the CVS pharmacy. Further the price purchased at the pharmacy was twice the price purchased from the same CVS store. Could return if CVS store bought if unopened within 30 days, not CVS pharmacy for the same item. It doesn't make any sense. What was more insulting is the name brand was way cheaper then CVS generic. Will take my business to a different pharmacy. read more

I came to the pharmacy a minute before they closed (completely my fault, I understand) because I was feeling well enough for the first time in days to get my nausea prescription. I walked into the pharmacy on the verge of throwing up knowing that the only thing that would help was my prescription. The blonde woman at the counter told me that they were not taking anymore customers, and when I told her that all I needed was the one prescription that I knew was ready and I needed it in that exact moment, she looked at me, did not say a single word, and walked away. Another pharmacy technician offered to help me since the other one so rudely did not say a single word and walked away. I understand completely that I made the mistake of coming to the pharmacy late, but when someone is in tears, in visible distress, and expresses that their Zofran is the only solution, I find it odd as a healthcare worker myself that she did not care at all. It really sucks to know that this pharmacy hires the type of people who do not have empathy. Thank you dearly to the young woman who helped me regardless of their closure. The people behind the counter are nice enough, but that's about all I can say for this pharmacy. The app is terrible and often incorrect, the call system (with its long-winded menu) is equally terrible, and there is always a line of at least 4-5 people waiting... They haven't been able to get my son's medication for months now, and they don't/won't work with the doctor's office, forcing me to play middle person. (Rite Aid always worked directly with our doctor!) We finally just moved my son's prescription elsewhere and will likely eventually do the same with others. read more

One of the older CVS stores that I have been to. It is located in the same center as Safeway near downtown Livermore. It was smaller than other stores and a bit outdated. That whole shopping center is older and needs some upkeep. They did have the self check out option for covid so that was good. Parking was easy as well. Pretty open and lots of spots. read more

I paid for 30 days supply however just got 6 days supply. I didn't open as I had some past stockpile left. So I went to get balance 24 days supply following seven days according to the got warning. Front work area woman impolitely requested that I pay again everything for an additional 30 days supply. Why pay twofold for no shortcoming of mine. Rather for being sorry begun contending for not an obvious explanation. I just left and will choose to move my remedy to another drug store. Indeed there is consistently a long queue, and individuals working around there are slow however that is okay. Be that as it may, cheating and being discourteous is absurd. I likewise left a criticism, yet no reaction, so it's undeniable administration couldn't care less. I regularly invest energy on bad surveys yet it just unsatisfactory and amateurish business. They did not notify the Doctor who called in the prescription that they were out of stock of the medicine ordered. They did not call the other two CVS pharmacies in town to see if they had the medicine in stock. They informed me at the counter the out of stock medicine would be delivered the next day at 4 pm. The next day, I was told it would not be in till the following day. When I pressed them as to their policies, I was told it was told my prescription was in. Thank goodness it wasn't life dependent medication. read more

Sometimes one receives service above and beyond expectations. Today I was helped in the pharmacy by Samantha who was helpful, knowledgeable, polite, attentive of details and deserves a big shout out for going the extra mile to help customers. As I waited for the change that needed to be done by the pharmacist, I observed Samantha serving other customers and I saw her patience, helpfulness and that she showed respect to them as well. Tried to fill my prescription for the 4th month in a row and have had the same situation every month. Waited a week or two to get the "order" in and then the pharmacist tells me they can only fill 45 of the 90-pill prescription and i will just have to forfeit the other 45 pills. Since when can a pharmacist override what my doctor prescribes and who are they to say I can just take 45 pills instead of the 90 that were prescribed? I have been on this medication for over 30 years and have never had such problems filling my prescription until my insurance changed and I have been going here to CVS. What the HHHH is going on here? My first time at this location and I needed a couple things to buy. I walk in 10 mins before they closed and I had trouble trying to find things. I couldn't find the right aisle. Madison was fixing up the aisle and restocking and she asked me if I was doing fine. I said yes at first, but I was having trouble from the start. So, I show her a picture of what I was looking for and she told me to look at one of the specific aisles. I walk there and I find it! Makes it so much easier to ask then find myself. After, I show her another picture of some steroid ointment. She says, that looks like prescription. I said yeah, but I think you can find this over the counter. I then walk to the counter and she asked me to see the picture I have so she can look it up on her computer. Even though she couldn't find it, she went above and beyond trying to locate it. I wanted to do huge shout out to Nicholas who helped me the other day. I can to counter and bought a few supplies I just came in to town from Florida for post disaster relief company for PG&E. I had only been in my hotel for two days and know very little about the area. I got money out of a ATM and money back from office max. I went to buy the stuff from store and the guy said the money was fake. Of course I couldn't believe what I was hearing but thought I would agree and pay with my credit card. Although I was a little bit frustrated, Because I don't want somebody thinking I am the one trying to pass money like that. He marked the bill it turned brown. Whatever that means. I when out to my truck and looked to see if that money came from atm or office max. Sure enough if came from office max. I went over and there manager was super nice and refunded my money. I had given the other 20.00 to my hotel I am staying at so I also notified them too. So, a big thank you. I did feel like he thought I would do something like that. However, at the end of the day he did the right thing and checked. So again thank you. read more

Never ever use this CVS. I've never had a worse experience in my life. No one cares about your prescriptions and when something is wrong and you ask questions they make it like you're the bad guy. I can't begin to explain the lack of professionalism and not only that but the overall cleanliness of the store is disgusting. No one is friendly. Only used as a pharmacy because it's relatively close but will never return as long as I live and I recommend you do the same. read more

I don't understand why this place has bad reviews. It is just a regular CVS and stocks regular CVS things, and of course wine since this is California. The only deficiency that I can see is that there I usually just one cashier operating. However I have seen them open up more cashier lanes as the customer load increased. Too bad Yelp doesn't have negative stars, this place is not customer friendly, in person or on the phone and it's not my first experience but it is my last! Today, more Rude people answering the pharmacy phone, they don't even give someone a chance to say anything before they yell "HOLD!" I was left on hold the first time I call for 15 mins so I hung up, waited an hour or so and tried again after a 25 min hold and finally gave up. I was trying to give a courtesy call to release my meds as they were on automatic refill but I didn't need them anymore. I will not ever use this location again, too many other pharmacies in our town. They keep up this rude behavior, they won't stay in business much longer. I'm sure they will figure out I'm not picking up my meds in a few days so I will not waste anymore time trying to be polite. read more

This pharmacy is the WORST! They take FOREVER EVERY TIME I go there....I have never had a pleasant experience there. Today I had dental surgery and took my prescriptions for pain and for antibiotics there. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes, I was told the pharmacist was on lunch and it would be an hour for them to be ready. An hour and 10 mins later, and starting to feel quite a bit of pain, I went back to pick them up. Again, I waited in line for about 10-15 mins. When I got to the counter, I was told...........wait for it.........that "the pharmacist is on lunch....she gets an hour, so they won't be ready for a while yet.". Unbelievable. I had them give me my Rx back and I took it to over to Walgreens, where I was entered into their system and my prescriptions were filled in about 10 minutes. I won't EVER fill a prescription there again! read more

A non-pharmaceutical review. By the sparse customer traffic, I suspect CVS is making a ton of money off of prescription drugs. While I avoid making any political commentary, its obvious the other 90% of the floor space is stocked full of shiny objects to persuade you to not take a few steps next door to OSH, Safeway, or even committing the sin known as Wal-Mart. I'm not sure if I ever take full advantage of the CVS ExtraCare Rewards Program, shopping there can be an adventure if you look hard enough. Buy one package of English Muffins, get one free totaling ~ $1.89 each. Buy two boxes of Cherrios cereal, get a $4 CVS coupon. 12-pack of Pepsi products at $2.50 each while Safeway demands a price point of $6.39 with Safeway card! Milk is between $2.59 or $2.79 a gallon while next door asks for $2.69. Considering the 2% reward, a difference about 5 cents. You can find hair care products, out of stock in Wal-Mart (in both Livermore and Pleasanton) but stocked in CVS costing 25% less. Bargain hunting can be fun as long you have both the Rewards card and a receipt coupon. There are a number of items, especially under health, hygiene, and vanity products found in Wal-Mart but less expensive, if you look carefully. CVS sells fishing poles, T-shirts, most anything short of fresh produce and meat. Tips: Review your receipts. Many of the nice coupons expire fast! CVS rewards frequent visits and you'll lose not only the savings but the premium spent to get it. For example, instead of paying $3.89 a box of cereal, I paid $4.00 each for two of the same size in getting that $4 coupon. I can't quite give this a 4-star yet. 3.5 for sure. The location isn't quite an oasis. Its too close to Safeway to give it kudos for the convenience. The floor operation is minimally staffed. But the place is clean and brightly lit. Take advantage of the prescription drug money financing this operation. Stroll through the aisles - find the deals. September 30, 2010 edit: Why would CVS but a big sign in front about their milk's "Lower price" at 2.89 a gallon where it was just 2.79 a gallon a month ago. Isn't that false advertising? Too bad I cannot give a NEGATIVE STAR for this CVS! I won't waste my time writing bad reviews, I rather share my good experiences instead but really today I have to start my bad reviews on this CVS! I've been with the CVS in Milpitas for years and the pharmacist and techs there are super nice and knowledgeable. I called today for my refill since this CVS on 1st Street is closer to me, they couldn't find me and they share the same system with all the CVS throughout the states!!! I had to call my CVS in Milpitas to have them call over here to let them know that I do exist. When I call back to complain and the manager was no help at all and I had to let her know maybe their staff should do a better job next time. On a separate note, they don't even have the med anyway and I have to wait until 3pm tomorrow, which is way over 24h. But that's not ready their fault if they don't have the med and have to order it. It's time for me to go to Safeway instead... read more

If I could give this store a negative star I would! I had been a faithful Longs shopper and when it was bought out by CVS I just stayed with it because my prescriptions where already there. However I will never return to another CVS store ever again after the worst costumer experience there ever! It is NOT the fault of the staff, but the policies of the store. Pharmacy is still one star. I've never returned to their pharmacy. I now pick up all my RXs at Safeway where there are no problems and I'm in and out in 10 minutes. One really great hidden gem in this store is their photo processing. I love the Prints in Seconds kiosks. I can stop by after work, hook up my iPhone and print pictures, and be done in 10 minutes. They also offer photo gifts like mugs and calendars. And for people like me who still like one time use and film cameras, they have a mail out service for $9.99. The pictures get mailed directly to your house. read more

I have been going to the CVS pharmacy at 1500 1st street for years. Recently their service has gone to hell in a hand basket as the saying goes. Today I finally had a prescription filled that was dropped off to their counter LAST week. The pharmacist flagged the drug for an interaction with another drug I take. The specialist Dr. I got my prescription from was not aware of this other drug. That was on a Friday, on Tuesday I call to see if the specialist has been contacted by the pharmacy to straighten out the problem. Ahh, no they have not contacted us says the assistant to the specialist. But we will call them to straighten it out. On Thursday I go to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription. Why not call them first? It is the 21st century! No corps picks up the phone, it is all computer generated talk. I hate trying to call the big corps anymore, and so I did not bother to call to see if it was ready. So off I go to pickup my stuff. What! The doctor did not call you! So I return home to call the doctor and find out what the HELL is going on. It turns out that the pharmacy in their lunacy thought it a good procedure to contact my primary doctor, not the Dr. that proscribed the drug in the first place. DUH! Another call to the specialist. They tell me all is good and the correct drug is ordered. This is at approx 4:30 pm on Thursday. On Friday at 2:00 pm I show up again at CVS. It is not ready. When was this called in I ask. We don't know that. What? In the 21st century you don't have records of your orders? Ohhh, not of our phone call-ins. OK, when was this promised? Oh, the printout says 8:40 pm Thursday. So, they made me wait for it to be filled ASAP (which is 15 minutes for them). This on a Friday, 6-7 business hours after it was promised to be filled. Dear readers do yourselves a favor and shop at a different CVS, not the one at 1500 1st street. They seem to be very over booked orders, over worked and dare I say, it under trained. Oh, did I talk about the service at the counter? 3 of 3 interactions with the counter people was bad. Each of them was hurried and surly in their manner and body language. read more
