DO NOT BUY GROCERIES HERE. I always thought Walmarts produce was bad so I never buy from here. however I did buy bacon this week (it's June), bc it's close to home and I wanted to grab some quick groceries for breakfast. the bacon expired in May. like how is that even still out and it's almost July?? they said I could bring it back in a bag and get refunded. but this shouldn't have even been a thing. it's almost been a month since it's expired. The craziest part is also when I called about it. She didn't seem baffled at all. Like this happens all the time

WALMART I tried to return a wall hanger for a TV and they said no, you can't return electronics. I explained it has no wires, it's not electronic and in a sealed box. She said "you're wrong, it says electronics on my register." So I got her manager and he says no, she's right that can't even be exchanged for credit or a gift card, and he wouldn't consider fixing it, this sealed box containing nothing nothing but a piece of furniture because .. IT'S ELECTRONIC then made it very clear maybe I should move along (I know electronics get returned to that area. And it was the store manager, please quit trying to explain that to me guys.) The manager is named Steven, at store 2317 in E Bremerton. If you go to Walmart drive past ours and go to Silverdale, ours is run by people who can't and won't try to help. Do you really want to shop somewhere where managers don't know something without wires isn't electronic anyway? (Feel free to share )

Buyer be ware Bremerton Walmart has people swiping finger in stuff and they don't care about it.

On the 25th of Sept I purchased a small jar of the Equate Vaseline. I opened it to discover it had a deep two finger swipe out of it. After speaking to the store manager and the Pharmacy I was informed neither of them were going to go out and check the other jars to see if it happened to them to. The store manager said it happens and there's nothing they can do about it. I beg to differ this will be the last purchase I make at this store. A word to the wise if you do buy something check it thoroughly before using it for you own health and well being they obviously don't care about it.

Freddy's has everything and really doesn't leave a lot of room for tiny one-note businesses to compete. It's actually possible to have been shopping at this excellent department store for months or years until the attached leased retail spaces vanish from one's awareness. Thus there's almost always a space available to lease, in which to fail as a small business. Ask anyone to name three businesses in the Freddy's complex and they'll probably only recall one, and that'd be the Subway at the entrance; it's handy and really good for fast-food. Opposite is a very generic Asian fast-food joint (teriyaki, sushi, etc), I've tried a couple times and if you're hungry enough it ain't bad, but Freddy's own little restaurant area is nicer. There's a second and better Asian restaurant that's better for Mongolian food. There's a "mail service" called Pak Mail who'll even wrap your parcel for you, but is expensive as all get out (two or three times the price of UPS or FedEx), so who'd go there twice? A shoe repair shop I used a couple times before realizing the guy charges more than most of us spend on new shoes. A Starbucks replaced a lovely independent and genteel cofffeehouse (Olympic Espresso) that failed. There's much else difficult to bring to mind, as I've not had both the need and the recollection they existed. A dentist office. A locksmith (which everyone who has used their emergency services praises highly). A Little Caesars which I presume is as lousy as the Little Caesars I tried in two other locations but never again. A hair salon. I hope I've remembered them all but probably haven't. Oh, multiple bank small branches, but not mine. I do lament an old-timey Used Record Store that must've been the last one in the county!

Then I went to the check out area near the garden dept., as that was where I was parked. There was one check stand open with 2 people ahead of me. The checker was a young man, who was obviously very inexperienced. He was sooooo slow. After waiting for about 10 minutes, he finally got to the person ahead of me who had a lot of purchases. By then there were 3 people behind me. I asked the checker if he could call for another checker. He mumbled into the mike asking for backup. Nobody showed up. I moved my cart out of line and walked out. It was a very frustrating experience. I am a retiree of 30 years of working in grocery stores. Yes, this store has gone downhill.

They are behind a notorious homeless "camp site" created by Kitsap Mental Health and the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Church. The problem is made worse by current "Progressivist" leadership in Bremerton. Some days are not safe because of marauding bands of violent vagrants and youth gangs. Theft is so common that prices have increased. There are multiple complaints FROM the homeless, even though this store feeds, houses, and puts up with their begging. It's not all of them, but there's a definite lack of respect. My mother and I have been customers since the store opened. We know the staff, and they are usually extremely helpful and kind. Aaron, Brandi (who is sadly transferring), Jeanette, and all the rest are awesome. The store was forced to install an elaborate theft-deterrent system at entrances and exits. This store was originally known for its selection of Boarshead deli items, its ethnic and kosher section, and for being a one-stop shopping center. It has a gas station to the left of the building. Hopefully, new leadership in Bremerton, which is desperately needed, will help this location. Shuttering or moving KMS and sweeping the "campsites" would be ideal.

It formerly had a nitelife of sorts, with the casino, liquor store, and two bars, so drunkards liked to get in fights in the parking lot (there was even a murder); but all that's gone now, the place is no longer scary, and there's an ethnically diverse church to replace the casino. The run-down strip was mall built to 1970s specifications and only ever superficially updated. There's been a cinema there for ages, with four screens. It changed from Olympic Cinemas to Tracyton Movie House in 2021 (though this is East Bremerton, not Tracyton), with plans that make it sound like it could be a real center of joy for youth and maybe entire families, like a 1990s game parlor and big rental possibilities; time will tell if any of that works out. It's such an accessible location it seems like it should be a fine place to have a business but so many have failed and there's always a space waiting for lease. A store for disc golf and other sports equipment, where you could get sports uniforms with screen printing, opened and closed so fast my head swam (it seems to have immediately moved to Wheaton Way as 360 Disc Golf). An automobile license place was very useful but the decrepit plumbing in the mall blew up and flooded the place so they moved far, far away. Eventually they partially reopened but By Appointment Only, a nuisance. There's drive-tru banking. A substance abuse clinic handily near a brewery. A full service pet groomer with self-service pet washing space with walk-ins acceptable. A recording studio called Boom House. Clothing store for chubsters, useful to me. Computer repairman. Dentist. The oddly named Little P. I. "oriental food mart" as they call themselves, inexpensive and definitely worth a visit. Nothing that shouts, ooo, gotta check that out; there is no magnet store (Ivar's restaurant was the biggest draw way back in the 1990s, wish that had remained). But the lovely Wilco Farm Store is practically across the street in a bigger strip mall.

Some of the items are marked different prices now so I understand where they could be a bit of confusion. But we definitely looked at the sign that said 1.50 unless otherwise marked. We waited in a long line like always and once we got to the register heard a customer getting dismissed when she inquired about a price that was not marked and rang up a different price. Once it was our turn the item and a question was rang and said it was five dollars we told the cashier that there was nothing marked and with an attitude and a rolled eye she told us it was marked. I then proceeded to ask her to show me we walked over and of course it was not mark. The five dollars wasn't really the issue. She proceeded to point her finger and told me I was going to listen to her and when I said no, you're gonna listen to me she told me I could leave the store ! She could've just simply said that they're just getting new items in and are in the process of correctly marking them and that the item was the price said it rang up but she had a attitude was super rude and disrespectful proceeded to put her finger in my face and told me I was gonna listen to her and I told her no I was not. She then told me I could leave the store. She then threw my hand cart to the other register and said you can handle her when I ask that person to walk over and show me. She walked over and of course could not show me where it was marked and then gave me an attitude when I asked her for the corporate number of the dollar store. I told her there was a tackle respectful way to speak to any customer and this kind of behavior was not acceptable. A job is a job.. No matter where you work, you're getting paid to do a job you should do it and do it well. If the sign says 1.50 unless otherwise marked that what it should be.
