Apparently now if a person is only buying lottery tickets they have to wait until ALLother customers- including those who arrived well after they did have been served. I waited 20 minutes just to see. The reasoning is that they don't make a profit off lottery sales. I guess the days of ALL customers being equally important are over at this store. Since I waited so long, I did buy the lottery tickets but I returned the other items I was going to buy and went to Safeway.

Loyde was at the counter and kindly let us shop as he said other shoppers were still inside. I was looking for a bag and earrings. Loyed was so helpful. My friend bought a few things and was also very happy with our shopping time. If you are the owner and reading this, Loyde deserves a raise! He is wonderful! We will be back and telling our friends to stop in! PS the cute Halloween decorations in the window drew us in to begin with!

Beyond the normal sorts of products you might expect in a standard corner market, this shop had tons of specialized products, mostly emphasizing "nordic" content. They have a great selection of mustards (mostly German). A fine selection of meads, mostly Danish, but also domestic. And probably the best selection of licorice I think I've ever seen in an American store, more than an aisle focused on licorice. There are the standard varieties, but also some serious salted varieties, including ones I haven't seen outside Finland. Also, lots of other German sweets and chocolates. The staff was really friendly and helpful, and shared my enthusiasm for the great stuff they carried. Well worth a visit. Who knows what you'll end up getting!

I happened to be having a lunch at the Mexican restaurant next door and chose to walk into this business after I finished my lunch just because they were there. I've eaten at the restaurant next door many times and I've never thought about going into this toy store in the past. They have a lot of fun things in the store. Probably something for everyone in basic kinds of games. I settled on a puzzles as well as a Trivia game. They had a really good special going on where you could buy a puzzle and get 1 for 50% off. However, I didn't take advantage of that because I just wanted the one puzzle. The store had quite a few shoppers in, and was a bit congested. Good for the business, and expected this time of year. But, I actually was in-and-out of the store so fast that I did not spend enough time to assess all of their offerings in order to have made a really good judgment. I'm very happy they were there to support my last minute Christmas game shopping need for my family and friends.

My son immediately was drawn to the cars and put a few on the table to look at them. I was looking around the store at things I could buy my son and also for anything that might delight my husband. The woman working, went over and started snatching the cars from the table my child was at. He had placed six cars on the table top. I came back over and told my son to help put the cars back and that he could only look at one at a time. I sat in the adult chair at the table and asked him which car he liked the best. (I was going to buy him one along with a Playmobil Pirates set.) The woman came back and asked if we were ready to leave. She had a horrible attitude and said that children are not welcome AT ALL TOY STORE. I cannot imagine a worse attitude for retail, let alone being a toy store so unwelcoming and rude to children. We left immediately without purchasing what we had planned to buy and as I was buckling my son into his car seat, the woman (she was older with a bad blonde dye job) had the audacity to stand at the door of the shop scowling. Never again.

The produce selection is superior to Safeway's and Walmart's in terms of quality and offerings, but the prices again are greater. The wine and beer selection is top notch in variety, however the prices of wine tend to be higher than at Total Wine. The overall ambiance is superior to other stores as well and the staff are professional, helpful and courteous. That all said, if I'm buying a lot of groceries I'll go to Walmart for the savings. If I only need a few items I'll go to T&C as I can get in and out more quickly. My main critique though is that on-line there is no indication which aisle an item is located on.

Since the last remodel they have cut down on the immense breadth of stuff they sold but that's only slightly closed the gap between them and lesser stores. In the wine section, we were looking for a bottle that we bought elsewhere (yes T&C also carries it) but the very friendly and extremely knowledgeable wine clerk Richard introduced us to Italian wines we'd never seen before. He did a great job at matching our palates to his descriptions of the wines he suggested. We bought several of his recommendations but I tell ya, Richard is enough to garner 5 stars for this star. Of course we bought other things but the find of the day was Bob's Red Mill Potato Flakes. We've been looking for product like this every sense Costco stopped selling a similar product. None of the other stores where we shop carry this Bob's Red Mill product. We had a wonderful cashier named Ana who also contributes to the 5-star rating. She was sweet and upbeat, even sharing a bit of her life with us. My wife and I always enjoy when a cashier makes checkout an enjoyable visit instead of, well, just checkout. You know you've had a great checkout experience when you spend some sizeable bucks in a store and still leave in a great mood.

TLDR: Buyer beware, they will tell you anything in order to get you to sign up for their credit…read morecard, even lying about the current promotions. We've actually made a couple of purchases at this particular store in the past 6 months after moving to the Poulsbo area. Our first purchase went off without a hitch and we felt like we got a pretty good deal, at the time we just needed a king size bed with an adjustable base, got what we wanted and everything was delivered a few days later. After that experience we decided to go back when we realized that it was time to update two of the guest beds in our home, this time we went in looking for a queen size bed with an adjustable base, a twin mattress, and 3 pillows. While shopping our sales rep kept pushing the "awesome cash back deal" with their credit card. Essentially, make a purchase that day, put it on their synchrony bank card, and get a decent chunk of change back. We were reluctant but he eventually talked us into it. Well here we are a few months later and still no cash back from our large purchase. We called the bank that the card is issued from and they informed us that the purchase was made outside of the promotional period. The sales rep seriously spent an hour trying to sell us on this damned cash back card and failed to mention that the promotion had ended? I mean this is just downright fraud in an effort to scam customers into signing up for their credit card. At this point we're ready to just return everything that we purchased, get our money back, and report the fraudulent activities going on at this location.
