B&N refuses to accept a valid credit card. Regardless of all my information being correct I can't get them to accept a valid credit card.

We love perusing this bookstore and feel immensely grateful that spaces like this still exist. This store, in particular, is really well laid out and organized, and we love that there are always some new deals available, as well as highlighted new releases and special interest books. The staff are usually helpful and engaging, with rare exceptions. Though we have noticed that there tends to be a bit less book knowledge here than we've found at smaller, independent bookstores. Our only real complaint about this store is that there are some items that are not in their system for some reason, and if you are unlucky enough to happen upon one of these items, it is an ordeal. We had such a situation occur on our last visit, and we stood at the register for at least 10-15 minutes, while staff tried to figure out the issue. In the end, there was some hasty "patch," but no apologies or offers of restitution for the hassle. Instead, we left feeling like WE had done something wrong. Definitely not the finale we were hoping for after an otherwise fun shopping experience. Overall, though, this is a great place to spend a couple of hours and find most of the books on your "need to read" list (and some you didn't even know you needed - until you did):) read more

The sales staff allows you to shop & browse to your heart's content and don't bother you. That said, ask a question and they bend over backwards to find exactly what you need. Great place to shop for your wants, gifts for all sorts of family and friends.. you name it. Super place to go. read more

Called the store to inquire about returning an online order and was told NOT to bring it into the store to "Call the Phone # on the receipt" to start the return. I looked at the receipt, no phone # and it says I can mail it back for a return or go in-store. So, I go in-store and start the return, and the cashier says that he has to get a manager to authorize the return. "Amy" comes to the counter and the cashier stated that I want to return an online order. She looks at me and says did we talk on the phone earlier I said yes, and she goes did "they" tell you to return it to the store? I said no there isn't a # on the receipt and it says it can be returned in store. She clicks around on the computer and tell me she can only do an in-store gift card, or we can walk to the customer Service counter to call and see about getting the order fixed, I asked if I would get the $5 discount, I got from my membership, and she said no since I was doing the return the way I was, she said if I wanted the FULL refund I needed to "call" and they would send me a label to mail it back. I asked her what the # was and she said she didn't know but that I could look it up.... I stated I would take the gift card because it was the easiest way. Amy was very rude and short on the phone, she acted as if I should know all the stores policy. She was even ruder in person and treated me like a child who wasn't listening. Bookstores are always a favorite in our family! Like a library, but with cool gadgets and toys, fun decorations and staff that want you to leave happy. We explored the new releases, the sale shelves, the best sellers and the children's nook. This is located in Kitsap Mall and I swear it's one of that malls saving graces. It's everything you'd expect from a regular B&N and I could spend hours in here. I like the way this store is setup as well, I literally kind of get spun around in the store. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable, and the bookworms it attracts in to the store are some random and awesome people to converse with. read more

Located in the Kitsap Mall, this Barnes & Noble is spacious with a variety of inventory. I'm glad that book stores have not gone extinct and this location has plenty of books in every category imaginable. They also have DVDs, magazines and games. Their Nook products are also sold here and there is a nice little cafe/coffee shop inside. Customer service was excellent and there were plenty of staff available to answer questions. read more

This is the Best Book store in Kitsap County !! Comfortable, So Many Books, Magazines, Comics, Music, So Many Books, Knick Knacks, A Coffee shop that serves Starbucks, So So Many Books, Couches, Restrooms, Kids Section, I couple probably add a few more items but you probably get the idea. Any books they don't have can be ordered at the Help Desk, then paid for and they ship right to your home address. Very Nice. They have various couches and chairs that you can even hang out and look through books. I think this will be a regular stop. read more

I really like our Barnes & Noble store here in Silverdale, it's just a right kind of store! You can wander aimlessly and nobody bothers you or follows you around thinking you're going to palm a book and walk out or something! If you find yourself wandering too much and can't find what you're looking for, there are plenty of people to help and you don't have to go up to the counter, you can usually spot one or two wandering the store just like you! The wait time to check out can be a bit tiring at times as the cashiers are also floor help. If a customer has a question or mentions a book they'd like or couldn't find the cashier will generally leave to help them! As a person waiting in line that's disheartening but as a customer being waited on it makes you feel special! Toss up on that one! All in all it's a great store with full shelves and excellent customer service, couldn't ask for more! read more

The store itself, I give five stars, but due to your cashier, Jamie, I'm taking four stars off. She needs to be trained that her job is to cashier, not socialize with her friend while customers wait. SIX people in line. Two cashiers. One of them in the middle of a long transaction. And next to her is Jamie, a middle aged woman socializing and laughing away with her friend while we waited. And waited. She was whooping it up having a good time. I can't imagine what was so funny!! Just as her friend was about to walk away, Jamie said something causing her friend to return they found more to laugh about. And the line continued to grow. And we continued to wait. I am very pleased with the curbside service I have received during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I have ordered 3 times since the closures began, and my online order has always been ready for pick-up within a couple of hours, with timely email notification. Friendly phone personnel and fast delivery once you arrive. Today, I went to get my order and was not aware of the 4:00 closing time. This is a huge Barnes & Noble location! They have a grand selection of books, children's area, CDs and DVDs, cafe (Starbucks), and other items and knick knacks. You walk in and are immediately greeted by the large displays and spacious layout. Once you are actually walking the isles of books, it feels like any other book store with all of the titles beckoning to you. There are a few self help kiosks sprinkled throughout and a main help desk. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, if a little pushy and invading my personal space-y. They have their own entrance from the parking lot and also open into the mall. The parking itself is small and seems to always be near full when we shop here. Definitely a nice location, just quite a drive from where we live. read more

It hates me to write such a bad review but we live in a world where consumers have many options including ones that do not require shopping at a brick and mortar location. I came down to this location to pick up a reference book for school after finding it online. I wandered around for quite sometime without ever being asked if I needed help, let alone seeing any available person to ask for help. After finally going to the register and asking for help nobody seemed to know where the book was located. The best part is, they keep it behind the register. So I made my purchase and was about to be on my way when I noticed the book was almost $5 cheaper on the Barnes and noble website so I mistakenly assumed I would be paying the same if I came in store. I was told in order for an adjustment I would have to order it online and wait for them to process the online order and that it would take some time. Needless to say after the poor customer service I will be taking my business to amazon, who also has physical stores for books and great customer service. read more

This Barnes and noble is attached to the kitsap mall. They offer story time every Saturday morning for little kids. They used to have a train table and Lego table for the littler kids to play with. They have removed both of those and have nothing for the kids to play with in the kids book area. Considering kitsap mall has hardly anything for little kids to play with these tables were very nice for our little ones. I'm very disappointed nothing has replaced either one of these tables. I have been a weekly customer for over 4 years and I hope you guys bring back the tables for the kids to play with..there is a rumor going around that a worker there doesn't want to bring them back because the tables are a hassle. I'm sorry but as a mom it's nice to have a place to entertain your kids for a moment while trying to decide what book you want to buy. read more

One of the nicest locations that I've been to in a long time. They have everything here, including a full music and movies section. I like the layout of the store itself with tall shelves, but in short sections. It helps me enjoy a large selection, but also not to feel trapped. The magazine section was unwelcoming. Most locations I've been have a whole wall, but this location had 4-5 shelves, like a Borders. Even the huge entrance into a mall didn't take away from this location, which is saying something. read more

If this review took place 2 months ago it would have been better. We enjoyed the kids section, have attended many juice and Jammie sessions and in the past were pleased. Recently we were shopping and decided to head to the book store for a new kids book, they made an announcement for story time that my oldest child wanted to attend. We sat as a family ready to listen the employee began to read the book. The children's story contained the words negros and coloreds when referring to black people. The women reading the story paused after the second derogatory description looked directly at my 1/2 black 9 year old (my children were the only black children) and said I'm sorry if this book offends you. I understand there are books with culturally insensitive language, but the book should have been pre-screened. Shame on Barnes & Noble for having that type of story read with all the current injustices in America. Shame on the women reading for singling out my child as if she would be the only one offended. I will no longer be shopping there or attending any children's events! read more

So today my dad goes to get my brother and I some drinks from the cafe here cuz he's a cool dad. My brother gets a white chocolate mocha cuz he's generic. So he gets his drink and drinks it once and realises something is off so we all taste it and conclude that this is not a white chocolate mocha but is indeed a white chocolate without the mocha. Tbh we've probably never laughed so hard. It's not what we wanted but hell we got a new inside joke out of this and a not too bad drink that he may just end up ordering again one day. 10/10 read more

Nice store, clean, organized. Employees are helpful when you get one. I would have given it a higher score if their Blu Rays weren't $45!!
