I needed to find a few things to put in Christmas stockings, as well as a game that those gathering for our festivities could play. I happened to be having a lunch at the Mexican restaurant next door and chose to walk into this business after I finished my lunch just because they were there. I've eaten at the restaurant next door many times and I've never thought about going into this toy store in the past. They have a lot of fun things in the store. Probably something for everyone in basic kinds of games. I settled on a puzzles as well as a Trivia game. They had a really good special going on where you could buy a puzzle and get 1 for 50% off. However, I didn't take advantage of that because I just wanted the one puzzle. The store had quite a few shoppers in, and was a bit congested. Good for the business, and expected this time of year. But, I actually was in-and-out of the store so fast that I did not spend enough time to assess all of their offerings in order to have made a really good judgment. When my 3 year old and I entered the store, we were asked what we were looking for. I said we were Christmas shopping. There was a small table with a stool next to a tower of cars. My son immediately was drawn to the cars and put a few on the table to look at them. I was looking around the store at things I could buy my son and also for anything that might delight my husband. The woman working, went over and started snatching the cars from the table my child was at. He had placed six cars on the table top. I came back over and told my son to help put the cars back and that he could only look at one at a time. I sat in the adult chair at the table and asked him which car he liked the best. (I was going to buy him one along with a Playmobil Pirates set.) The woman came back and asked if we were ready to leave. She had a horrible attitude and said that children are not welcome AT ALL TOY STORE. I cannot imagine a worse attitude for retail, let alone being a toy store so unwelcoming and rude to children. We left immediately without purchasing what we had planned to buy and as I was buckling my son into his car seat, the woman (she was older with a bad blonde dye job) had the audacity to stand at the door of the shop scowling. This store is just beautiful. Awesome selections! I am so glad my friend let me know about this wonderful toy store. I don't live here in Poulsbo but still somewhat local. I was in there, I believe it was on a Tuesday recently and really wanted to say, again, thank you to the helpful staff, this woman was so so kind. And if I may add so patient. I do try and not take so long on a decision but when it comes to the little ones, I want to buy up everything. This store carries a lot of hard to find toys. Unfortunately, as stated by others, the owner is not friendly. The first time I came in she watched me like a hawk, as if she was afraid I would shoplift something. I love supporting locally owned shops, but the prices here are just way too high. read more

We've lived in Bainbridge/Poulsbo/Silverdale area forever and have never been in this store! We needed Brio tracks and saw they were an authorized retailer! The store is about to move across the street to a larger space but the store is still totally operational. They had so much fun stuff! Our toddler loved looking at everything! It's so disappointing when my fiancé and I try to buy local but the store owner makes it impossible. This is another one of those cases. My fiancé went in today looking for a specific item. There was no price tag on the item he was looking at so he asked the store owner how much it was. With the attitude of a 16 year old girl, she said the price tag was located next to the barcode on the bottom of the box the toy came in. He checked and there was still no price tag. As if it was the end of the world, she finally came out from behind the counter to show him where the price tag was. Upon realizing she had failed to price the toy, she picked up a similar toy, found the price on that one and told him "it should be about the same" as that toy rather than look it up. There was no one else in the store at the time so it was not asking a lot to find the actual price. We are both appalled at the attitude she had as he would have bought the toy if he had been treated differently. We will be buying it at Toys R Us, instead. read more

The new owner is shockingly rude. She's not friendly to kids, she doesn't smile, she's all made up and sitting at her desk . She reprimanded my 5 year old grandson for touching a stuffed animal. Not the same store at all. read more
