Avalon Comics and Games is now Kitsap Comics and Games. I had an arrangement with the previous…read moreowner to bring in my comic books to sell today. I didn't know that the business had changed hands, and I showed up with my heavy boxes of comic books that I had heaved into my car to bring there. The new owner wasn't interested in buying any more comics, but he honored the previous owner's arrangement, and bought my comic books from me anyway. I told him that I understood and that I wasn't angry, but he came in early just to look over my comic books and buy them in order to honor an agreement that wasn't even his. While he was looking them over, I looked around the store, and they have a nice selection of comics and memorabilia. It's definitely worth a visit.

A handful of slabbed modern "keys" and variants behind the counter - occasionally an actual key, but overpriced. New comic racks guarantee nothing better than a 9.4. No bags and boards for new comics, and to remove a book, you have to bend it. Last time I was there, there were aisles of loose new books, mostly modern variants and stuff that hasn't sold. Lots of toys and figures, if you're into that. Good selection of old filler Copper books for your runs in the back issue bins. Maybe worth a peek once a year, maybe if they moved out of the mall, they could lower their prices and give the new issue racks 2" of vertical space to preclude getting new books in VF/NM.

Workers sat around talking and practically doing nothing. Then when we were ready to checkout,…read morethey were rude and barely acknowledged us. Definitely happy this place is going and something interesting can take it's place and hopefully get better workers that understand basic customer service. Seriously, why have three people on the clock doing nothing and treating customers like they're not supporting the store..

This was my first visit here. This store has just about anything you may want with an animal theme…read moreor picture...calendars being the main focus. I wanted something black labrador...they had a great selection. I left with a desk calendar as well as a wall calendar....plus I splurged on some foo-foo and bought a cute labrador wall calendar hanger and leash hook. Perfect...!!! It is unfortunate however, that this store is located in the Kitsap Mall...I just hate malls. I am not one to venture into the Mall...going only under two conditions, first: the little blond lady makes me go with her, and two: christmas shopping. Both occasions require that I keep my mouth shut and my wallet handy. Suggesting lunch or even a cool refreshment always makes the little lady smile and happy...so I'm happy... I must admit that parking at the mall would benefit by a multi-level parking structure, but no, they only have asphalt parking lots...its huge...but when full, you just won't find it easy to get a stall...in that event, suggesting that you go to dinner or home are my options of choice. If she still wants to shop here afterwards....bite your tongue, smile, and just go along with it. Opening your mouth will only cause undue stress...yours. With all said, this is a really good store. I don't know if its only here for the holiday season or if they have the business throughout the year to warrant staying longer. But give then a visit, you will like what they have available for you...gift ideas or for your own personal use.

I really hate to write negative reviews. It makes me feel bad…read more I know a lot of things can be out of employees control at retail and people are generally trying to do their best, but this is one of the worst GameStop locations I've been to and it honestly warrants a bad review. There are several issues with this location specifically. One of the primary ones is that one of the managers is very rude and incredibly aggressive at trying to sell you a pro membership / GameStop credit card. I get very uncomfortable every time I go to this location specifically. Every time they ask about our pro membership, we politely say we don't want one and we don't have one. At most locations the staff are generally friendly and respectful and will only ask once and leave it alone. I understand it's part of your job to sell the membership, asking once is fine. At this location, the manager will ask us 10+ times if we want the membership, they will look up our phone number, even though we say we don't have one with the store. They will ask over and over how much we shop / where we shop to try and validate why "we have to have it". Even after declining endless times, they will not stop trying to sell it to us. This one manager just can't help himself, every other store they will leave us alone when we decline once. They go as far as looking up other stores where we shop and then ask about personal details, to try and validate their pitch. This goes on for 7+ minutes while a long line forms behind us, after we've declined so many times. This happens every time we go here specifically. It stresses me out to even buy anything at this store, because without fail this extremely long pitch happens every single time. The last time we went, we noticed they had just started unboxing Pokémon sealed products. Neat! The manager saw me looking at the cards and immediately just makes a snarky comment about it. "You want the good news or the bad news?", he asked me. I said the "bad news". He replies with, "It's $300 dollars!" and just proceeds to literally laugh in my face. GameStop is notorious for charging well above MSRP on these scarce Pokémon products. They had dozens of boxes of various sealed products, many of which were 50% above even unfair scalper prices, as they are literally laughing at potential customers and fans who would love to buy one product to enjoy. This "$300" Pokémon product they are selling is $69.99 MSRP. I get it, it's rare to find these products in the wild, but it would have been exciting to see these sealed products being restocked at any other fair retailer, here it just turned into frustration, at the unfairness of their pricing and the literal taunting by the employees. The whole experience was honestly insulting and sickening. Even after all this at this particular trip, my wife found a plushie she liked, and we decided to get it. When we were buying it, the manager, was doing the endless marketing spiel I mentioned above. The manager that taunted us earlier kept fondling the plushie and petting it, talking about how much he loved plushies and how much his family members loved plushies. (There is a long line behind us, but he kept going on and on about himself and caressing the plushie we were buying) The entire process of buying this item was incredibly uncomfortable and draining. I know all of this sounds harsh and if the employees are reading this, I don't think you are bad people. I encourage you to try to be more aware of how you are treating customers. This basically happens everytime we go into this store and I wish it was a better experience with fair prices. I have visited this store for many years and I always leave disappointed and frustrated. Please do better GameStop, I want this location to be a great place to shop.
