My favorite thing about the the weekend is BRUNCH. Like really..., what's better then eating breakfast and lunch food at the same time? I was in Bartlett today and decided to visit Wally Hatchet's. They were the 1st restaurant that popped up on my Yelp and decided to give it a try. The food was really good and freshly made. My chicken and waffles were bombbbb The chicken was fried to perfection and the waffle had a great crisp edge and sooo soft on the inside. They only serve breakfast on the weekends which is fine but I specifically asked are you serving lunch and was told yes. Wait 20 mins to be seated then after we decided what we want we were told breakfast only. Disappointment but what we ordered was good. I saw several signs orders to go were chart 18% gratuity but never saw one that stated you are charge $3 extra for using debit card. read more

Went to brunch on Saturday and had a really nice time. Great server despite being busy with several tables. We got there around 9:30 and had about a 20 minute wait which wasn't bad. Food was hot and delicious. My daughter got the burrito. read more

The order included eggs, which they forgot. And when we reminded the waiter, the fellow snapped "It's coming!" Then he tossed an extra plate on the table, without eye contact, without stopping to place it. The pancakes were not hot and the food was just ok. But mostly I felt a little sad for the waiter, in a way. I truly did. He clearly didn't want to be there. Life is too short to hate your job that much. Think I'll find a more welcoming spot for breakfast! read more

I had the philly cheese steak sandwich. Good price and size but needed more seasoning and cheese. Potatoes were good but need salt. Service was good. The waiter like others in Memphis asked if I wanted change back which drives which is a pet peeve of mine. Handing him a $20 bill for a $12 meal would be a $8 tip at 60%. i left $3 or 25% instead. It seems regardless if you hand the waiter $20, $50 or $100 bill they always seem to ask do you want change back. YES read more

My sister and I stumbled upon the gem that is Wally Hatchet's today when we were looking for a brunch spot in/near Bartlett. I'm SO glad we ended up here. This place is seriously cute. There is some music theming throughout that I love and sounds like it's not an empty theme either -- they have live music on certain days! Love that! I ordered the pickle chips (deep fried pickles) and the "pour some gravy on me" which is biscuits, gravy, topped with eggs. I got them over easy and they were PERFECT. If you sing this order then they bring out a surprise! So. Fun!!! Everything was delicious aside from the biscuits. They were super dense and hard. That was disappointing since it's central to the dish BUT overall I'm so happy with this experience. The pickle chips were YUMMY! My sister got chicken and waffles and holy smokes. It was DELICIOUS! The chicken was moist and crispy and the waffle tasted great. We were both really happy with the coffee we ordered as well as our amazing server! She was great. Came here for breakfast and loved it! We got to the restaurant around 8:30 on a Saturday morning and could get a table right away. Jeanine, our server, was very friendly and had great service. We both got breakfast sandwiches - Thunder and Funky chicken and both were great. The sausage gravy is excellent. Loved that the funky chicken came on waffle wedges - they were delicious. My husband got a side of pancakes and they were delicious as well. Great prices and more then generous period sizes. Will definitely be back! read more

Great family restaurant. The owner and several of his children were on staff. There was a bit of bragging to my daughter than the pancakes taste like cupcakes and when they arrived, it was spot on. Super sweet. Home fries with each meal were dry which took away quite a bit from the chorizo scramble. But it was so much meat that I give them a slight pass. Country fried steak biscuit was 8/10. I found this spot on Yelp and wanted to give them a try for a Labor Day brunch. It was a pretty cool and chill experience. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we wanted. My husband and I chose a seat near a window and we were immediately greeted by our waitress. She took our appetizer orders. While we waited, someone else came to check to make sure that we were being taken care of. I can say for sure that they were very attentive, which I appreciated! The cheese curds were really good with both the marinara and the ranch! I'm pretty sure my husband ate over half of them but I really enjoyed what I ate. They were fresh and very crispy. I ordered the "Throw some gravy on me" biscuits and gravy. I didn't sing the song to get the special treat this time. Lol. They were pretty good but I did add a little more more salt and pepper. WOW!!! I don't use that word often. But when I read multiple Rave Reviews about a Local Restaurant I didn't know about ~ MUST try it! The photos had me drooling. Thanksgiving Feast @ Wally Hatchet'swas epic. Check out my heaping plate(s). Served with an Arnold Palmer, the perfect complement. "Turkey Fried Steak" far exceeded anything Ive ever tasted in that category. It really is "Home Cooking," using Family Recipes, to which Owner/Chef Torrey adds his special touches. Manager Dustin took great care of me. "Pink Panther" Dessert was totally addictive! This is my new fave! All the right ingredients for success. What else can I say that hasn't already been said? Not the best food. Fried catfish had so much grease it was literally puddled on top of the filets. I think they took it straight from fryer and dropped it in the plate. I used about 10 napkins trying to make it edible. Do not get the hamburger steak. It's literally a reheated hamburger patty with fake brown gravy. Ugh. Onion rings were dripping in grease as well. I don't think the cook knows they are supposed to drain the grease before serving the food. Definitely not worth a trip back. The 3 stars is for the nice waiter. read more

I usually have to go in Mid-town to fine this quality of food but no more. I have found my spot and will be returning g and recommending to friends. Let me start off by saying our waitress Katie was adorable and very helpful. The owner is here and the first thing he says when we walk in is how y'all doing ?? I made white beans and ham with fresh cornbread for y'all. That was so cool to welcome us this way !! Well of course we had to order it and it did not disappoint. So good !! My hubby (it's his birthday!) ordered a beef patty with brown gravy, mushrooms and onions. So good. Pair that with a side of collard greens and corn nuggets. Wow so different !! Delicious!! I had a pot roast sandwich with a side of fries. Only suggestion ~ order the pot roast over mashed potatoes. Sandwich is too messy. Anyway we will definitely be back. 1. Weakest Coffee in the Neighborhood and Beyond 2. Egg white substitute is #3.99 for two eggs. Saturday 1300 Ordered Early Bird Special - Two eggs, sausage - 2 small patties, fried potatoes, and one biscuit. Listed on the website as $7.99; I was charged $10.99. The increase is a fact of life. I didn't see any signs indicating menu price increases. As I am unable to eat egg yokes, I asked for egg whites only. Looking over the menu, I didn't note egg white substitutes listed. Nor did the waitress, Ayla, did not tell me there was a charge for this. So my bill, with coffee, was $17.47. I paid the bill without complaining and left. I'll stop by and talk with the manager later. Coffee. The plain creamer has a stronger taste than the coffee. The two best things I can say about the coffee is that it was black and served hot. Lastly: The restaurant has cut their weekend menu to breakfast items only. If you are looking for a hamburger or another lunchtime item, it aint gonna happen. From a customer's pov, this is very limiting. The best thing I can say is to come by during the week, as this place has a good lunch and dinner menu. read more

Established in 2019.

On May 16, 2019, Wally Hatchet's opened its doors and immediately became a local favorite for breakfast, burgers, and comfort foods. Many recipes were learned at the culinary school of grandma's house while others were learned from travels during the owner's Air Force career. Known for breakfast ALL DAY, award-winning burgers, pot roast, and sammiches.

Meet the Business Owner: Torrey S.

I love to cook and create dishes that remind people of home. While some of our dishes can be a little wild many are good, old-fashioned meals that I learned to make from my mom and grandparents. A couple of dishes I learned to make while serving in the Air Force overseas such as the Shepherd's Pie and Balsamic Chicken. I will take credit for the French toast that is dredged in melted vanilla ice cream then cooked on the grill. My mom had a gluten allergy so the meatloaf we make has zero bread fillers....it's all ground sirloin, veggies, and spices. The glaze I put on top is homemade, too! Our shrimp Po' boy is another fan favorite with homemade remoulade. I make smoked Gouda mac n' cheese which is a side dish, as well as, a base for our Buffalo Chicken Mac n' Cheese and BBQ Pork Mac n' Cheese. It's one of our most highly selected side dishes. I really enjoy making people happy and giving them a good experience. That's what Wally Hatchet's is all about. Comfort...Food.

I think it's because the potatoes are the frozen ones. To me, bowls with fresh potatoes makes a huge difference. Other than that, the ambiance was great and we had a great time.
