Came here last night with my friend and my boyfriend because we wanted a fun Venice dinner with dim lighting and a disco ball. It was so fun! Also shockingly easy to find street parking nearby. Service was great too, we had a super sweet waitress. We ordered a bunch of things. The duck lumpia was easily the best thing like actually so good. The ribs were also amazing. Japanese curry was solid. The nasi goreng was fine... fried rice with a little chicken skewer doing its best. And then the new butter chicken they just added to the menu... I'm sorry but it had WAY too much cumin. Like it genuinely tasted like the lid of the cumin shaker popped off and someone was like "eh it's late, send it." I kept trying to convince myself it was intentional and sophisticated and then I remembered I'm allowed to have taste buds Overall really fun night, great vibe, most of the food hit. Left happy, full, and still thinking about the lumpia... and slightly concerned about whoever was in charge of cumin.

TLDR: Good, but not outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful, especially the outdoor areas. The server was very knowledgeable in the menu and I appreciate that. However, I do not believe the quality and portions were enough to blow my mind away for the price. I do think everything was delicious, but again- not super memorable. The Japanese yam is very sweet and tastes like honey. It's very good, but not worth $20. I do like the drinks- had the red envelope and thought it was delicious. The presentation was also quite great as well. This is a great spot for a date night, but believe there are better options for the price point. Again, it's not this is not a BAD restaurant by any means, it just doesn't WOW me enough to be worth the price.

Loved the ambiance, service, and food here. The waiter was super friendly and helpful with our orders, suggesting some delicious mezcal cocktails. We sat on the outdoor patio which was a cool vibe and had heaters to keep us warm. The food was also delicious - we tried: - papaya salad: super spicy (beware! But I loved the amount of spice and flavor) - Japanese's curry: super delicious with a good kick (not as spicy as the papaya), loved the eggplant - nasi goreng: tied between this and the curry for my favorite dish - this was super flavorful and I like how the egg came in a little fried ball - rib wings: wanted to love these and they were definitely super flavorful, but the meat wasn't as tender as I was expecting, so I'd say they were just okay Overall, amazing food and great service, and would definitely return!

Wallflower is a total vibe -- cozy outdoor seating, moody lighting, and perfect for date night or a chill dinner with friends. The space feels intimate but stylish, and the South Asian flavors are bold without trying too hard. It's all small plates, so sharing is the move. Do not skip the duck egg rolls (crispy, juicy, perfect) or the rendang -- insanely tender and full of flavor. A couple dishes were just okay, but the hits definitely outweighed the misses. Cocktails were solid too. Overall, a fun spot with great energy. Would come back to try other items on the menu.

a friend of mine who lives nearby recommended this spot. neighborhood parking was relatively easy for a friday night. we got seated immediately and the vibe was bustling and the service was attentive. now for the food... snap pea salad: i always jump on a seasonal snap pea salad. the dressing was heavier than i expected but it did well to balance out the earthiness of the sprouts. great starter dish but a bit small for the price tag. duck lumpia: this is a must order for me. the duck meat was super rich and had that teeth-sinking bite to it. the lumpia wrapper was audibly crispy and the spiced vinegar of the dipping sauce came with a bright acidic punch to balance the richness. beef rendang: crazy depth of flavor and spice. the meat here was also perfectly tender and pulled apart with east. a killer small plate with a big impact. would also order this again. a note on the rice: the chicken/coconut rice was pretty dried out and hard. also in hindsight i feel there's so much flavor elsewhere, an order of jasmine rice would've been a better complement barramundi: it came out wrapped up and extremely hot and fresh. a very delicious, perfectly cooked fish with nice balance between the natural fish flavor and all the toppings wrapped up inside with it. def recommend if you like a meatier, flakier sea bass. manhattan: a nice drink but mostly tasted like a classic manhattan. also in retrospect woudlve gotten something more acidic instead of spiced to differentiate from the spice profile of the food. all in all, it's a bit pricey for me personally but a lot of the dishes we ordered were very delicious and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

Wonderful place. Good food, great service and peculiar ambience. My favorite dish was Duck Lumpia and rib wings with Nasi Goreng ( fried rice)

Pretty decent food, but exorbitant prices for the quality and quantity. I expected it to be on the higher end but don't think I've ever been more surprised by the price to value ratio. My girlfriend who can hardly ever finish her meals even left hungry. Service was pretty good and efficient, but I definitely will keep going to Simpang instead when I'm after Indonesian food

Really enjoyed the ambiance of the place, great service and the food was amazing. The crispy Szechuan beef, I could eat that everyday! The Japanese curry with the vegetables was delicious and how can you not get the duck lumpias...omg still thinking about them! The date cake to finish it up, man it was little and fluffy! They have unique cocktails as well, we were a big fan of them. Parking is street parking, doing the week there's spots you can find. Not sure on the weekends.

This is a trendy Indonesian restaurant located in Venice Beach. Both the indoor and outdoor ambiance are aesthetic and relaxing. The food was flavorful and beautifully presented. If you can't take spicy food, please make sure you tell the server. I asked for mild for the flat noodles and it was still too spicy for me. We ordered the following: 1. Crab rendang dip: this was overly sweet for me. The shrimp chips it came with were unique, and gave every bite a nice crunch. 2. Beef rendang : my partner loved it 3. Rice with chicken broth: good 4. Chinese wide rice noodles with fried tofu: The tofu was cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside and soft inside. The flavor of the noodles were too spicy for me. 5. Lemongrass Lemonade: refreshing and not overly sweet ! All in all, I enjoyed the experience because of the nice ambiance and great service. The food was a bit too rich and flavorful for me.

This is place is awesome. I went with friends after another event and it was an unexpected great restaurant experience. when i already though my evening came to an end. ALL of the dishes are so yummy and I it is a delighting tasting experience. I would recommend family style dining to try as many dishes as possible. The cocktails are all very unique and as with the food they are a pleasurable tasting experience. Indescribable! I will definitely be back...

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. Hottoek (fried pancake with brown sugar and sunflower filling) was not the best but it's worth trying especially if you haven't had it before. The speakeasy is unique and even serves full menu of great food! Aesthetic & Ambiance: 9.5/10 - it was very prohibition themed and the menus being price/luggage tags was very fun. Came on a saturday night at 6:30 reservation and it was very quiet with us being the only table most of the evening. The outside restaurant has live bands which can be a little loud. Service: 100/10 - Markley was the bartender and the only one who operates the speakeasy, she's not only the best bartender Ive had custom drinks from, but she also makes each individual product herself. She explained every part of the drinks and ingredients, and even offered to make any kind of drink we'd want if there was nothing on her menu. Deviled eggs: 7.5/10 interesting they were fried, but had great flavor all over Mongolian Beef: 8/10 very good flavor, and rice was tasty, but the sauce was a little salty. Cajun chicken pasta: 9.5/10 chicken was tender, pasta was cooked perfectly, sauce was delicious, and the sausage was a great addition. I'd easily drive an hour from LA again to come here!
