Intimate Italian spot in Venice. Came here for my friend's birthday dinner and we had a prefixe menu, with shared apps and desserts, and chosen entrees. The burrata and the salad were both good, but my favorite was the tuna tartare. I had the branzino for my entree; it's good if you have a lighter appetite. I preferred the bolognese that had al dente pasta with a hearty sauce. The rigatoni was the vegetarian friendly option and was solid. For dessert, I liked the opera cakes which came with two small pieces. This spot is good for date nights and I suggest opting to sit outside. Street parking available. There is one restroom inside on the ground floor and another upstairs.

My friend and I made a reservation online for a weekend evening. The restaurant is basically a rustic tavern. Great ambience, and it doesn't feel like LA at all - kind of European feeling? Like you've stepped out of the city. This would be a perfect date night dinner. We shared the scallops with truffle appetizer, wild boar ragu, and roasted duck. Everything was great but the pasta was the best. Really fresh and you could tell they made it there. Would love to come back for another special treat dinner.

We came to Barrique for Dine LA and to celebrate a birthday, and it was such a great experience! I ordered the truffle pasta (a must-try-so rich and fragrant) while my bf enjoyed the Dine LA menu, which included the filet medallions, red beet tartare, and panna cotta. Every bite was delicious, beautifully plated, and perfectly cooked. One of the highlights was the owner making the rounds to each table, personally chatting with guests, checking in, and really getting to know people-it gave the whole evening a warm, intimate feel. It's the kind of hospitality you don't always see anymore, and it made the night feel extra special. The only downside? The corkage fee is a bit on the high side ($35).

Came for their DineLA menu which was 55 per person for a little date night. We ordered the Pan-seared scallops, Parmesan fondue, and shaved black truffle, Crudo di Orata Tiradito (aka sea bass ceviche) Tagliolini Rossi Con Ragu' Di Quaglia in Fonduta Di Taleggio (aka the infamous red beet pasta with quail ragu, Tortelli di Ricotta ed Erbette which was ricotta tortellini with a brown butter sage. For dessert the panna cotta with berry sauce and tronchetto which is a chocolate mousse with a hazelnut crunchy bar almost like a Ferrero rocher My favorites of the night were definitely the pan seared scallops with truffle with red beet pasta. The truffle shaved on top gave it a deep truffle flavor which hits right after you take a bite of the scallop coating your mouth. It was so fragrant. I wasn't personally loving the ceviche because there was definitely some chopped cilantro but I really don't like cilantro but the Aji chili dressing was amazing! The ricotta tortellini was also not my favorite since it was so sage heavy but if you love sage you will love the tortellini. The tortellini was also not made fresh since parts of it were hard where it was folded. The best thing was the Parmesan fondue sauce which was amazing!! Just pure Parmesan cheese cooked and reduced down with only a bit of heavy cream. Service was also great with the waiters and staff being super attentive. I didn't even know I had dropped the napkin that was on my lap and they had brought me a new one. I would definitely come back for the appetizers and the pastas.

The atmosphere and service is phenemonal. There is valet in the front, but lots of street parking with a short walk. I went on a Wednesday night so it wasn't too crowded. This restaurant is essentially a little remodeled house, we sat upstairs. It felt incredibly homey with very eclectic decor. I came here on a recommendation from a friend, we started with bread which came out warm and delicious. Then we had caprese, one of the specials for the day. It was so refreshing and delicious. For the entrees, I had the Tagliolini Rossi Con Ragu' Di Quaglia in Fonduta Di Taleggio. The pasta was delicious, tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, but I believe it was the sauce that destroyed my stomach. It was noticeably quite oily, but shortly after dinner my stomach was in pain for most of the night. I'm not sure what it was as none of the ingredients have ever had this adverse effect. I did eat the leftovers the next day because the pasta was so good, but again stomach pain shortly after. Overall, the waiter was attentive and funny. We didn't feel rushed and had an incredibly pleasant time dining, but after the disappointment with my entree I am not sure if I would come back.

Must try! Tronchetto- Reminds me of a Kit Kat

Barrique is a true hidden gem in Venice. A shabby chic Italian restaurant tucked inside a charming little yellow wooden house. I'd heard about this spot years ago from a coworker, so it had been on my list for a while. I finally got to try it for my surprise birthday dinner, and it was such a memorable experience. From the moment you walk up, the vibe feels special. The entrance is lit with a little fire stand, setting a cozy tone. We were given the option of indoor or outdoor seating and chose indoors. They led us past the kitchen and upstairs, where the space had an attic-like feel with wood beams ceilings. It was intimate, softly lit, and perfectly romantic , just know it's a small area, but still comfortable. Drinks: They don't serve cocktails, only wine, which honestly adds to the charm. My partner chose a Paso Robles cab (and another red pairing for the steak), and both were excellent -- smooth, rich, and perfect with the meal. Food: Bread & Olive Oil: 2/5 Offered for a charge, but I'd pass. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything special, just plain bread, not warm, and basic olive oil. Starter - Octopus: 3.5/5 Flavor-wise, the grilled taste was fantastic, but the texture was rubbery and a little tough to chew. It came over arugula with a light aioli-style dressing, which worked well. If it had been more tender, it would've been a standout. Special Pasta (Shrimp & Scallops in Tomato-Butter Sauce): 5/5 Absolutely delicious. The sauce was rich, velvety, and full of flavor. Probably my favorite of the night. Ribeye with Mushroom Sauce & Mashed Potatoes: 4.5/5 The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly -- juicy and packed with flavor. The mushroom sauce was a nice touch. The mashed potatoes, however, were on the salty side, but the veggies balanced it out. Overall, the ribeye carried the plate. Dessert - Trancetto: 4.5/5 Think of it as a refined version of a Kit Kat. Crisp, chocolatey, and even better with the fresh raspberry and blackberry on the side. A great sweet ending. Service was warm and attentive. Between our servers and the bussers, we felt well taken care of the entire evening. Barrique is a wonderful choice for a romantic date night, intimate, cozy atmosphere, great wine, and flavorful dishes (with a few minor misses). I'd definitely recommend the special pasta and ribeye, and of course, saving room for dessert.

I had a great meal here celebrating a friend's birthday! The food, service, and setting were all top notch. Barrique is an authentic and inventive Italian restaurant in a beautiful yellow house. We sat upstairs in a dimly lit and open room. Though it was fairly packed with tables, it still felt intimate. We shared the octopus appetizer, orecchiette with sausage, and each got our own main course. This was a great way to sample the menu. We also split the tiramisu for dessert, which is not to be missed. Barrique also has an excellent wine list, with plenty of options by the glass. For a night out with friends and family, or a romantic date night, head to Barrique!

Barrique is such a unique experience starting from their house like restaurant in Venice. Barrique is an Italian restaurant with a lot of unique dishes and a fine selection of red and white wines. The place is very vibey and dark and sets a really good mood for couples. Ordered dishes ranging from pasta, bread, wines, dessert, and appetizers and they were all delicious! Service was really good and quick and definitely will consider coming back. Reservations are recommended through Resy and valet is available

I chose Barrique for an important celebration (a post engagement dinner) purely based on photos I saw online, and it was even better than I had hoped! The vibes are perfect -- a super intimate space, staff speaking Italian, a candlelit dinner in an old house. And the food... incredible. We started with the pan-seared scallops (my fiancée's favorite) and it did not disappoint. The parmesan fondue was so good and unique, and the truffle was a nice touch without being overpowering. For our main course we shared the duck breast and pappardelle with rabbit ragu, both of which were fantastic. We also got the bread basket (also great) and shared a bottle of champagne. We were stuffed but it was a good amount of food for two people to share. For dessert, we shared the tronchetto, a hazelnut cookie crisp with white and dark chocolate mousse, which was phenomenal. I had called ahead and asked if they could do something to mark the special occasion, and they brought the dessert as a surprise, with a candle. A very nice touch! If you need a *nice* restaurant (it's pricey but worth it!) to celebrate something special, this is absolutely a must-try. My only complaint would be that we waited around 20 minutes for our waiter to return at the end so we could ask for the check. But overall, I am still raving about this meal two months later!

Food: 4/5 Get: scallop starter. Creamy sauce. Perfectly seared yet tender scallops. Truffle. What's not to love? Veal special: the lamb was cooked a perfect medium rare with a nice crust and juicy veins of marbling Skip: the bread basket was a bit burnt and the olive oil wasn't especially flavorful Service: 5/5 attentive, kind and knowledgeable Ambiance: 5/5 Basically all candlelit. Music was the perfect loudness. Exceptionally cozy and warm ambian

    Ask the Community - Barrique

Do you guys offer gluten free options and/or gluten free pasta?

Barrique has gluten-free pasta, which is very good according to my daughter-in-law. Having tasted some, I concur.

Are they willing to make a vegan pasta option such as arrabiatta or simply pomodoro?

From my experience with special requests at Barrique, I think they would honor your request. I would call ahead (310) 399-9010 and ask.

    Is is appropriate for kids/families?

Certainly could take kids/families. Would say however it's more for adults only. The ambience is very calm with low lighting.

Does the restaurant allow costumers to bring their own wine?

Yes. One bottle. There's a corkage fee but I'm not sure how much. Probably $30-$40.

    Is there outdoor seating available?

Yes, there is. And its a wonderful atmosphere. There's outdoor seating in the front patio and also on the balcony. The balcony is accessible from outside.

    Do they have kids menu?

No, but they are excellent at accommodations. Will never let you down.

Do they still serve foie gras?

No. It is illegal again in California.

    What is the Corkage fee?

$35 SOURCE: instruction sent with reservation through OpenTable

Do they have any vegan Options?

    yes they do

It has a relaxed, European feel with a clean, open layout that works just as well for a morning coffee as it does for an evening glass of wine. It is comfortable, social, and easy to spend a few hours in without feeling rushed. The food is consistently good and well executed. The menu leans toward simple, French-inspired dishes done right rather than anything overly complex. Everything feels fresh, well portioned, and thoughtfully prepared. It is the kind of place where you can order a few items to share and know they will all be solid. The drink selection is another strong point. The wine list is approachable but well curated, and the coffee program holds up for daytime visits. It transitions seamlessly from café to wine bar, which is part of what makes it so versatile. Service is efficient and low-pressure, which fits the overall concept perfectly. Overall, Zinqué is not about being flashy. It is about consistency, atmosphere, and quality across the board. A great go-to spot whether you are meeting friends, working during the day, or having a relaxed dinner.
