Good Italian food but not so great. I've tried way better Italian food in the LA area than Ospi. However, the service here was great 10/10! Our waiter was very attentive and was always checking up on us. Believe it or hard to find good service nowadays. Pricing for this restaurant is fair and reasonable. Serving size might be small for a heavy eater. Overall, I give Ospi 4/5 stars!

Had a reservation for 9:00 and somehow still waited 25 minutes while there were multiple open tables. Food came out cold, so the provolone wasn't good. Seems like they premade it and had it sitting out for a while. Pizza was okay, pasta was actually good, so credit where it's due. Service was pretty bad, to be honest. We waited another 25 minutes just to get someone for the check. She seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else, and disappeared. Overall, for the price, it felt pretty underwhelming. I came here before, but this time it was extremely disappointing.

We tried out Ospi in person finally after only ever ordering their spicy rigatoni via Uber eats lol. The place itself is nice inside, with plenty of seating. There's also metered street parking outside and at the time we went, it wasn't hard to find a space close by. We ordered this ricotta toast (DELICIOUS AND RICH), the ceasar salad (which wasn't really like a ceaser salad at all, but it was still good), spicy rigatoni (delicious; a classic), the meatballs (ehhh, it was okay), the cacio y pepe (good flavor but too al dente for my liking), and the crispy provalone (great!! tasted like a better version of a mozzarella stick). We were super full at the end of this feast. service was good. clean restrooms in the back of the restaurant. something cool is that you get to watch them make their noodles right in the dining area too!! all in all I would love to come back here again.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with nothing but smiles and great vibes. Jacob was an absolute pleasure and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. From the appetizers and salad to our entrées, everything was beautifully plated, and the chefs really know what they're doing here. The whole experience was wonderful, and I'm definitely coming back. Jacob truly went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. We were celebrating a birthday at our table, and he made sure she felt extra special and had the best birthday possible. We also my son and I snuck away from our table to have tequila shots of casa amigos Jacob know how to keep a secret lol. Btw my son is 26.

The perfect place to go for consistent food but be wary of overcooked pasta. My go to order is the spicy rigatoni, which is always cooked perfectly. The last time I went to Ospi, I tried the lobster lemon tagliolini and the pasta was extremelty overcooked and barely had any lobster - which is so disappointing for such a pricey dish. The steak was perfectly cooked and the arugula salad added the perfect amount of freshness to our dishes. The brussel sprouts tasted like they were deep fried and topped with more oil, so I'd skip it the next time.

Loved getting to eat outside here -- we had the outdoor area to ourselves even though the inside was quite busy. It did take a while to get service. But the server apologized and then was very attentive from that point forward. We ordered the Brussels, the kale salad and the spicy rigatoni. The Brussels were. "B" -- the kale salad was amazing and the star of the show was the spicy rigatoni with the vodka sauce. Delicious. The portions weren't huge but were plenty for the two of us. Normally we have so much left over when going out for Italian. Not the case here which was good since we are on vacation and don't want to be wasteful. Prices are $$$ but that seems to be the case everywhere in Venice, Santa Monica and Marina Del Ray areas. Recommend trying this spot.

The vibes of the place were pretty good indoors, but I wouldn't come here if you want to do a dinner for 2. The tables were so close together I had to speak really loud in order to be heard by my friend. The larger tables with the booth seemed to be more comfortable but the tables in the middle section were just super close together. The other tables also had a little handle for purses which were neat but our table didn't have it which was a bummer. Our waitress was very nice and cut in at the perfect moments and checked in regularly. The food itself was good but nothing crazy. I honestly wish for the price of the calamari we got a little more, but it was still pretty good! Nothing really stood out as being absolutely amazing between the things we ordered, but if I had to pick one I really enjoyed it was the brussel sprouts. Plenty of parking options like street parking, valet, or lots around.

Came back and had a similar experience like last time - food was good but service was only so-so. And with service I am referring more so to the wait time and having to wait an excessive amount of time even when you have a reservation. We still enjoy the food and will probably come back. And we still left a 25% tip.

Decided to come back here and try this place again after a subpar first experience and was pleasantly surprised with how much better everything was from the food to the staff. Special shoutout to the manager D'Andrew for ensuring customers have a great experience. Ambiance outside was really nice. They have heaters for when it's a bit chillier. Waiter was super friendly and attentive despite having to cover so many tables. Food: Raschiatelli: 11/10 Not what I was expecting in the best way. The meat was so tenter, the breadcrumbs added a nice crunch, and the noodles were delicious. Perfectly cooked and the cheesy sauce was a great flavor. Highly recommend this dish more than anything!! Garlic Bread: 8/10 Good starter but not very garlicky. Japanese Eggplant: 8.5/10 Nice spicy sauce and I love eggplant. Very good dish! Funghi pizza: 9/10 The pizza is very thin but comes out with such a great crisp. The cheese on this pizza was really strong and created a great flavor combo with the mushrooms and caramelized onion.

My first visit to Ospi was a few years ago when they had first opened in Venice. While the recommendations were strong, my experience was less than. That said, I always like to give grace to a newer restaurant understanding that they may be working through the "new restaurant" quirks. I moved to San Diego shortly thereafter, so it took me a while to make my way back, however, I finally made my way back on an LA weekend getaway.  We walked right in for lunch and were sat immediately with our choice of indoor or outdoor. I will say, the ambiance inside is a little lack luster, so we opted for the patio which in fairness... isn't much better. While no wait sometimes makes me nervous, especially given my first experience, I am happy to report that the food was exactly what I was hoping for. Given there were only two of us, we decided to order modestly and split one appetizer and two entrees  -- 1. Fried Provolone 2. Margherita Pizza 3. Spicy Rigatoni  All I have to say is, step aside mozzarella sticks!!! There's a new sheriff in town and its provolone. The fried provolone had to be one of my favorite appetizers I've had at an Italian restaurant. If you like cheese, this is for you. The portion size is generous with two full rounds, served with a side of their spicy vodka sauce.  The spicy vodka sauce is truly top notch. We enjoyed it so much on the provolone, it influenced our decision to order the spicy vodka rigatoni. The pasta was cooked beautifully, with a good bite to it. And while I'd say the pizza was the least impressive item we consumed, it was still by far one of the better pizzas we've had (and we've had a lot).  I'll admit our service/server was a bit odd, but she was attentive and kind - and that's really all I can ask for. Spitting distance to the Venice Boardwalk and down the road from Abbot Kinney, it's a great location to pop into for a solid meal while exploring.

Went to Ospi yesterday for a 3 pm reservation. Our waiter was very friendly and even offered us the happy hour menu, which included half portions of a few items we were planning to order from the dinner menu. We ordered the kale salad, rigatoni, cacio e pepe, and the crispy provolone. Unfortunately, the food came out really cold. The only dish we genuinely enjoyed was the kale salad. I'm not sure what went wrong, but it was disappointing, especially since pasta is what this place is known for. Overall, it was a confusing and unpleasant experience, and I probably won't be returning after being served cold pasta.

Second time at this location in the same month! It was very consistent and outstanding food. If you want good pasta, pizza and amazing apps come here! The ambiance is also very nice and warm. The service could be a bit more attentive but so can the rest of restaurants in LA- in comparison to LA they have good service food came out in a timely manner. All the pasta is house mad and it's delish!!! I do not feel like I'm super stuffed and heavy even after eating a lot either which is great! Eating any processed carbs usually doesn't go well with me but this spot feels like all the ingredients are fresh! My fav dish is the japanease eggplant, literally so good and unique! The spicy vodka sauce pasta- def has a kick which I loved 10/10 the pasta was cooked to perfect and great portion of sauce to pasta ratio Pizza - super crispy and yummy very well made and I felt like I could eat the whole thing! Ricotta nudi- is a special but super delish, relatively mild in flavor compared the vodka sauce but the brown butter sage is smooth and light which is perfect!!! The pasta it self is literally indescribable! AMAZING!

All dishes are carefully crafted with its colorful details, and its simple but bold flavors prepared for you through an open kitchen. This place gets busy the minute they open their doors so make reservations prior. 1. Korean Aguachile: fresh tilefish sashimi with finely sliced cucumber and white floral decor simmered in ice cold kimchee broth they pour at the table. Soooo good. Must order. 2. Soy Marinade Blue Prawn: My favorite dish of the night. Huge raw blue prawns (head attached) marinaded with soy sauce. Served with barley rice topped with Ssam jang (type of bean paste sauce), and seaweed paper. You wrap all ingredients in the seaweed paper to make a hand roll. Soooooo delicious. Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. Fantastic food, cool ambiance's. And great service. Highly highly recommend this place!

Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

I couldn't tell whether I had sliced pork belly or flat noodles in the dim lighting and it turned out to be thick slices of flat noodles. Orange Chicken (orange soy-based sauce, dried chilies, orange zest - $22.00): Super crispy orange chicken, but it was crunchy type of crispy and tasted a bit dry. Walnut Shrimp (mayo, candied walnuts, sesame seeds, red cabbage - $25.00): his dish came with lettuce and looked really nice. I would much rather visit Jade Rabbit in Santa Monica for cheaper and more delicious Asian fusion food or Din Tai Fung in Santa Monica for a more consistent dumpling and noodle experience. The only reason to come here is for the date-night vibe. Honestly, the food tasted more like Northern Chinese fusion cuisine than Taiwanese fusion cuisine.

My husband opted for a neat Caballito Cerrero Puntas pour (high proof agave spirit). They only had 0.5 Oz for their bottle and only charged for the partial pour. People came in and ordered anything from cocktails to neat pours to flights. It was a cool spot and the bartenders seemed pretty well versed in different cocktails, giving a few suggestions to different patrons. Even making a few Espresso Martinis for a couple of girls that didn't really like their initial cocktails. Staff was cool, attentive, and pretty quick and efficient with the pours. I'd definitely be down to try more drinks here if we roll through again. Luckily, we found some close street parking and it wasn't super busy so we easily found parking in the area. It also wasn't super packed in the venue so we could've opted for other seating--lounge areas, a few tables, or just at the bar.

So genuine and lightweight, loved sitting there. We ordered the deviled eggs, cornbread and meatloaf mash. WOW! complements to the chef Bravo! Everything was fantastic!! Absolutely must try the cornbread. Such a great balance between sweet, savory and spicy. Not a single table was served without them ordering this dish. I can imagine how many they serve a day! The deviled eggs were delicious and surprisingly so filling. I loved the turkey meatloaf with the mash and gravy. So flavorful!! The vibe and atmosphere was great and I can't wait to go back!

My new favorite restaurant in Los Angeles!…read more Since this review, I have been to this restaurant twice due to how amazing the food is. Firstly, I came for dinner on a Saturday night and it's absolutely beautiful inside. I loved the dim lighting and the lights which create a truly romantic experience. Service was great and our servers were amazing. They explained the menu throughly and explained how the items were family style. For drinks, we ordered the pong express which was delicious. For food, we ordered the cornbread, the cat fish bites, the blackened chicken, the carrots and the mashed potatoes. Everything was super delicious and the portions were great. Definitely recommend for any occasion!
