Shoutout to the workers that were super nice to our party of 7 on the evening of 6/18. The servers were very attentive and we never had to wait long for our food. Also they graciously filled the sangria carafe to the top! The food just tasted good and safe. Nothing too overwhelming about it. Favorites were the tender short rib and fatty pork belly. The $49 paella could have been better. Ambiance was quaint! Street parking but they also have a lot in the back.

I was so excited to try Manchego but was actually very disappointing. The food is not as good as I expected. For instance, the goat cheese and fig tostada is something anyone can go at home in 5 minutes. The only real good thing I had was the short rib. Besides that, service is very bad. I was seated outside and had to go inside 2 times to ask the waiter to come take our order. Super slow. Not only that, I found a hair on the pork belly. They took the plate away and then the manager came saying there was no more pork belly... It's definitely not worth the price and they need to improve A LOT the service.

The food here was so mediocre. Everything was just okay. Mac and cheese: noodles were overcooked and the cheese was a bit too gooey and soupy. The flavor was good though. Shrimp: good but not very flavorful. The shrimp didn't absorb the flavor and juices at all. Patas bravas: crispy but there was something off about the sauce. Lamb burger: best thing we had on the menu Short rib: good texture and decent flavor Overall nothing blew me away. I was a bit disappointed given the price. It's hard to get Spanish food right.

We were in the area and decided to find a good happy hour spot. We found Manchego on yelp and they had some good deals plus they had an outdoor patio for our pup to join us. Parking was easy, you can find metered parking on the street or if you drive around to the back of the restaurant there was a parking lot (paid). The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, the outdoor patio in the front of the restaurant was quaint - plenty of umbrellas and quite spacious. The happy hour menu had some great deals - $9-$15 which a lot less then their regular dinner prices. You can find their happy hour menu on their website. We tried the spicy garlic shrimp which was our favorite. Our second fave was the mac & cheese (manchego). Delicious! Our least favorite was the tortilla espanola. Wine was $9. The staff was super friendly and their happy hour was pretty busy. Once it started getting busy, everything took a long time so I suggest you try to get their early and order everything up front (rather then a dish here and there). But it's a great place and we'd love to head back to try their paella.

Good food Favorite was the steak, garlic shrimp Service was good Nice little date spot

Very cozy, romantic and intimate setting. The restaurant ca seat perhaps 60? We had reservations for 6 on a Sunday, hostess greeted us warmly and was pleasant. Dining is family sharing setting- we ordered the fig and goat cheese - So good! The garlic shrimp, Tortilla Española, Shishito Peppers, Briased Short Rib, Goat Cheese with Fig and the Pallela (clams, large shrimp- this was silently too salty for us)- all else was delicious quite the experience. For drinks we ordered the red sangria (pitcher) the the white sangria- the white was sweater tha the red but both still great. For dessert we had churros served with chocolate dip. Our server was extremely attentive and all other waiters who assisted us. I would highly recommend this for intimate dinners and small groups. Plenty of street meter parking there is also a lot in rear with meters. You gotta check this place out for a Spanish cusin

If you're a fan of Spanish tapas, but you've never been to this restaurant, you're missing out on an incredible experience. I've been to this restaurant three times now and each time has been better than the next. Each dish is carefully prepared to perfection. There are a number of dishes that I would recommend, but here are my favorites: -The cured meat and cheese plate. You can build your own plate from several options, but I get the manchego cheese, idiazabal cheese, jamon serrano, chorizo soria and lomo embuchado. The jamon is the star here. -Goat cheese and dried fig tostado. It's both sweet and savory. I'm an animal. I eat it in one bite, but my wife says you can enjoy the different ingredients better if you take smaller bites. -Fried patatas. Think country style potatoes except all jazzed up. The key to this dish, which elevates it to the next level, are the sauces. -Mac and Manchego cheese with bacon on top. This is my favorite mac and cheese anywhere. It's so creamy and delicious. -Hangar steak served medium. It's difficult to choose my favorite dish here, but this might be my favorite. What can I say? It's beef, it's tender, and cooked perfectly. Final thoughts: -Reservations are recommended. It does stink that I had to create an account on Resy to book the appointment, but this place is worth it. If you're provided the option of dining inside or outside, I would choose inside. It's cozier inside the restaurant. -There is paid parking in the back of the restaurant. None of that valet crap.

We arrived at the doorstep via Waymo . The ambience was dark, but comforting. The tables were set with beautiful silverware and dishes. The restaurant was pretty loud because they were having a large party, but it just added to the busy vibe. I had the Spanish octopus which was quite amazing, super tender, and served artistically. We had some beautiful Scampi and had the Lobster Mac which was in croute and wonderful and followed up with caramel flan, which was excellent.

I dream about this place day and night. If there, truthfully, was one restaurant I could eat at for the rest of my life, it would be here at Manchego. My sister and I went with a reservation, which would be great for busier times as the place is a bit small, but it wasn't super busy when we went. The service was fantastic and everyone was incredibly kind. I cannot recall the name of all the tapas we ordered, but everything we ABSOLUTELY enjoyed. Now, I will say I could pass on the Mac and cheese, but everything else was incredible. Genuinely one of the best food places I've ever been to and will definitely be back to!

Sat in their outdoor patio area as they were renovating inside. They had heat lamps on so it wasn't an issue! They decorated the tables with adorable dainty flowers. Their plates were giving grandma core in the cutest way possible. Loved the vibe. Patatas - Soft pillowy potatoes with a crunchy exterior. Yummy sauce on top. Mac and Cheese - THIS ONE. GET THIS ONE! Seriously so darn delicious. Creamy cheesy goodness. So good I wanted to order another to-go. Spinach Croquetas - Crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. Came with a red spicy sauce. Might have been the same as the one on the patatas? Felt a little more mild, probably because there was another white feta sauce on top. Beet Burrata Salad - LOTS of burrata. They did not play around!! A sizable portion too. I know I ordered a beet salad but imo there were too many beets in it. Mushroom Risotto - Cooked perfectly. Very creamy. Sizable portion. A little more of this and it could've acted as an entree elsewhere. Brussel Sprouts - It was more like brussel sprout leaves than the actual mini cabbage. A little strange but the taste was good. A large amount of shaved cheese was sprinkled on top. You can also get the bacon on the side to make it vegetarian. Short Ribs - Falls off the bone. Delicious! Broccolini - Seasoned well. Had crispy (i think) onions on top. A little overboard on those. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. The food was made well and had tons of flavor to it. The mac n cheese was my favorite item. They must've put cr*ck in it because it was so good!! I was fiending for more frfr. Our waitress was super attentive and the food came out timely. Would love to dine inside when they finish renovations - the photos online looked cute. So many vegetarian options and easily modified plates to be vegetarian. Definitely will be back!

    Example of items I ordered.

I went to this place because I saw it on YouTube the rock star food guy. I had to try since he specifically said it was the best Spanish restaurant in California. The food was okay some items better but not so memorable to say the best in California. I guess I expected to dine at a similar restaurant you find in Barcelona Spain quality restaurant food . Prices were fair , not cheap and not crazy high. Their menu was missing their famous Branzino. The place inside was dark I had problem reading the menu and even seeing my food , but I guess it's the idea of romantic venue. Service was nice No complain. I still would recommend this restaurant and will visit them again one day. I wish they had their Brazino and some more authentic Spanish items rare food on their menu.

Perfect place for a grad dinner! Making a reservation was super easy via and we were quickly seated as soon as we arrived. The timing and order of the courses was impeccable and my personal favorites were the bacon wrapped dates and the pork belly. I recommend dining inside unless it's warm outside as it's a more intimate setting with candle lit tables. Parking is hard on the street but if you park a block over there is cheap public lots!

    Ask the Community - Manchego

    Is there vegan options?

    Absolutely !

    What is the parking situation?

Is the regular menu available during weekend brunch?

Yes. I was just there yesterday, Sunday 07/25, and I was able to order everything from the main menu.

    Happy hour menu?

Yes- I get happy just thinking about it!

Is Manchego still doing happy hour during outdoor dining?

Yes! I there just last week and happy hour is 5-6:30 pm

    What is the corkage fee?

    25 dollar corkage fee

Do they have paella? The Spanish seafood fried rice

Only on the weekend and it's only for to go no dining in with paella

Is Manchego open for dine-in yet?

Yes, we went yesterday (July 1st) - reservation is recommended due to limited available seats

Do you take reservations for Saturday evenings?

Yes, they take reservations every day of the week.

Hi what is the maximum occupancy?

If I had to take a guess, 50-75, but you can always call the place and double check :)

Hello! Are very well behaved dogs allowed on the patio?

Hi Tania, I was there a few days ago and don’t recall there being a patio. The place is rather small so there may not be room inside.…

Recommended for a late evening drink?

No, I don’t think so. They only serve beer and wine, and close at 10pm (11pm Fri/Sat). Plus, it’s a restaurant and doesn’t have a bar/lounge area. So if you only want a drink, it’s not the best place.

Do you need to reserve a table to be seated, and is it kid friendly?

This is a fairly small restaurant. It was totally full the entire time we were there. I would recommend making a reservation.

    Is this a byob restaurant?

    Nope

    Do they have gluten-free paella?

Well, paella is made with rice, which is gluten free, but I guess you should check with them to be safe.

We both liked the bread dish but felt like we didn't need to get it next time. We also tried the pa Amb tomaquet and mojama and marcona almonds (tuna loin). These were good together, but also not my favorite of the night. We ended with the bistec, salad, octopus and tortilla espanola. It was a filling and flavorful combination of food and from those I enjoyed the octopus the most! I think we paid ~$250 or so for all our courses and were definitely full by the end. It swings from Vietnamese small plates to a straightforward steak, and the range never settles into a point of view -- it reads less like a confident eclectic kitchen than a grab bag. The fried red snapper was the standout: crisp, well-cooked, good enough to stand on its own. It came with a fish sauce for dipping that it didn't need -- a wedge of lemon on the side would have suited it far better. The Vietnamese crab cake was a real miss; I couldn't get past it. The dumplings were fine but forgettable. Service ran to extremes. Our server was warm and eager, almost too eager -- he pushed a bottle of wine we weren't sold on, and we ordered it anyway. Then, after all that attentiveness, he disappeared toward the end of the meal and never came back. The wine list was fine, nothing memorable. This small Spanish restaurant opened in September of 2025 and was having a very busy Sunday night when my son and I decided to come in for dinner. They have no parking, so we found a meter on Ventura Blvd. We walked in at 6:50pm and were greeted by Renee (one of the owners) who asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, so he offered us 2 seats at the bar. At first I was a bit hesitant since I was hoping to have a table service meal. Renee encouraged us to try the bar, saying it's still a great experience. Well, he was right! We got 2 nice seats at the corner of the bar and thankfully it wasn't too stuffy. Liana was working the bar and she's also the lovely girl who took care of us during our dinner. She was so sweet, pleasant, kind, knowledgeable and hardworking. She was able to expertly answer all our questions and made sure we were well looked after. She also kept our water glasses full throughout the whole dinner. We ordered quite a few different items and every single dish was OUTSTANDING! There seriously wasn't even one thing we didn't like. We devoured the crumbs on every plate. To start, we had the Dátiles (warm dates with Manchego cheese), followed by the Mushroom Pintxos (Mushroom and Goat Cheese Toast). We actually ended up ordering another order of the toast since I loved it so much. The dates were also delicious, and this is coming from someone who doesn't even like dates. Next up was the Tortilla Española, a classic Spanish dish. It was piping hot, fresh out of the skillet. Nice and fluffy inside, with some spicy aioli on the side that complimented it well. We also got the Calamares a La Plancha, which was also very flavorful and fresh. I'm a huge fan of seafood but never had calamari prepared like this. It was definitely a different experience than the deep fried version I'm used to, but I loved it all. The Gambas Al Ajillo was the next appetizer and it was simply fantastic. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The sauce it came with was so yummy that we saved it to pour over the rice in our entree, the Carne. It's a hanger steak that comes with chimichurri and fries, however we asked for a substitute of rice instead of fries. This steak was cooked to PERFECTION. It was medium rare, just like we asked, and it was top notch quality. The rice and chimichurri also tasted great. It definitely hit the mark for a carnivore like myself. I will say that the wait time between the previous course and the steak was a bit long, and Liana apologized for it before we even said anything. We also shared a Red Sangria and it was DIVINE. It is clear to me that Unidos is a place full of love and passion. It's a very classy place, but in a very modern and relaxed way. It's chic, stylish, and sexy. All the food we ate is proof that everyone in the kitchen loves what they do and cares about what they put on your plate. Everything was super fresh and great quality, and I'm not just talking about the food. The service from everyone was superb! Starting from Renee, to Liana, to Gloria. She was the food runner for the whole restaurant by herself and she was doing an excellent job, quickly and efficiently getting everyone's food to the correct tables. Prices are a bit on the higher end, but appropriate for the quality of food and service. It was worth every penny and we will definitely be back! They have one gender neutral restroom and one women's restroom. Everything was beautiful and clean! There's also some patio seating. Thank you Renee, Liana, Gloria, and Unidos! 10/10!! HANDS DOWN!!

My first time trying Peruvian food and wow!!…read more The Lomo Saltado was so tender and flavorful. The fried fish tacos were perfectly battered and fried, I liked the onions on top as it helps cut through the friedness of it all. Yucca fries were delish, dip it in the green sauce and it's perfection. The ceviche was fresh and bright. Love the citrusy sauce at the bottom, yum! The corn is not like the regular corn we have at the grocery store. It has a bit more bite to it in terms of texture like it's not soft. Passion fruit juice was absolutely needed after all day on the beach. The cake has swirls of dulce de leche, very tasty. I would come back just for the lomo saltado alone! Service was friendly and fast. They have a few tables inside and a few outside. Right on the Venice boardwalk so if you dine outside, you also get a show with your meal.

March 20, 2026 | Friday | Venice Beach Boardwalk | What a fun and continued adventure when I met up…read morewith my neighbor once again, as I randomly spotted a colorful looking exotic restaurant! The location turned out to be El Huarique Peruvian Kitchen! What a delicious find that turns up the flavor and definitely the heat! Be careful what you ask for! Haha! Fish Ceviche | Yes, please! Now, at first bite, for some odd reason, I thought the dish was going to be hot, but it was cold and absolutely delicious! Taking our server Mauricio's advice, I tried each item separately on my plate and then mixed it up... Yummy! New flavors had my taste buds doing a happy dance over and over again! Haha! I would absolutely 100% get this dish again! The flavors were electric once combined! Turn up the Heat | Our server Mauricio asked my spice level and I confidently said spicy! He asked if I was sure and I told him the story about me being in India, requesting a spicier version of a dish & the Chef coming out to take a look at me, because he couldn't believe I wanted spicier! Haha! Comedy Hour | I was enjoying every flavorful bite of the Fish Ceviche, when all of a sudden my body started to heat up! I was like, I can handle a bit of spice... And then suddenly my tongue got really warm and I could hardly feel it... Then my eyes started to water... And suddenly I lost focus in the conversation I was having with my friend & the traveler! I could hardly talk, because it was honestly that spicy! Haha! I bet it was also the sneaky little red onions, in addition to the other spices! Help, Please | I spotted Mauricio and asked him if he had any bread or yogurt, because my mouth was on fire! He didn't! He recommended water, which I had already tried! My friend, she recommended plantains, which I had also tried! The traveler ended up recommending the lettuce on my plate, which ended up helping for sure! After a while, my mouth started to cool down, thank goodness! Eye Spot Spice | Just when my mouth started to cool down, my friend accidentally touched her eye, which must have had spice on it! The girl at the next table, dining with her significant other, immediately came to her rescue! I asked our server Mauricio for a cup of water so she could flush out her eye! The girl at the next table told her to rub her eye with her hair... Which oddly helped! Plantains | I can always appreciate plantains, as I love them! They arrived at our table and quite plentiful! I appreciated that the flavor was just the right amount of sweet and savory... Perfect! As conversation flowed easily between me, my friend, and the traveler! I invited him to enjoy the plantains with us, which he did! Fried Rice | My friend, ordered this dish and invited me to share it with her! OMG! I highly recommend, so flavorful and definitely shareable! I happily enjoyed every bite that I put onto my plate! Customer Service | Mauricio was top-tier! He was patient, kind and so much fun to explore the menu with! He really wanted us to have the Peruvian experience, considering it was both me and my friends first time having Peruvian food... as far as I know! Seating | Both inside and outside! We sat on the outside patio! Happy Meeting | While waiting for my friend to arrive at the restaurant, a friendly worldwide traveler, who was currently in town, helped me with the menu! Though his meal included chicken, a dish he frequently orders when he's in town, he invited me to explore the veggie part of the menu and mentioned that the food was really good here! Something made me trust his recommendation and I'm glad I did! We had fun chatting with the friendly traveler! Overall | Oh my goodness! Hahaha! Between the flavorful Fish Ceviche that was too hot to handle, sweet and savory Plantains, the customer service via Mauricio, an extension of me and my friends spa day, & other friendly customers, made for a memorable evening! I'm excited to do it again, definitely turning down the spice level and exploring more of the menu! Thanks again, Mauricio & the friendly traveler! We shall all meet again! Let's go!!
