Since the name change from "Walker" to "South Dayton", the overall quality of service has noticeably declined while the cost has increased. To start, you can no longer schedule service through the Toyota App. Because of this change, I had to call and make an appointment the old-fashioned way--by actually speaking to someone on the phone--just to schedule an oil change. For comparison, Reichard Chevrolet offers a Fast Pass oil change with no appointment necessary. I arrived today at 6:45 AM for my 7:00 AM appointment and waited for the doors to open. As usual, check-in was done using a pen, paper, and manually writing down VIN numbers and damage notes. This process feels outdated, especially when dealerships like McCluskey Chevrolet have been using automated check-in technology for over a decade--and they offer free snacks, drinks, Apple workstations, and a dedicated lounge. When asked if I planned to wait for my vehicle, I said yes. Josh told me it would take about an hour. My vehicle was finally ready at 8:20 AM. Then came the bill: $93.39 for a basic oil change. When I asked why the price was so high, Josh explained that prices had increased a couple of months ago. It seems like everyone is jumping on the "tariff" excuse to justify higher pricing. For context: On 06/17/25, I paid $79.54 for the same service--before the name change. On 09/18/25, an oil change at Joseph Airport Toyota was $80.62, and they include free coffee and donuts. The price increase alone is frustrating, but the addition of hidden fees--like a "Document Storage Fee"--makes it even worse. And while coffee is free, you'll pay $1.75 for a single Pop-Tart. Overall, the combination of rising prices, outdated processes, and declining customer experience makes it hard to justify coming here when other dealerships offer better service, better amenities, and lower prices. You could save $12.77 by visiting Joseph Airport Toyota, and enjoy a more modern experience while you're there. read more

Randy Kepperling was great to work with. I did not feel pressured and he was knowledgeable about my new 2012 Toyota Prius. He responded to both emails and texting promptly. He was patient with me as we waiting for one of the financial officers to replace their printer so I could read through the deal thoroughly before signing. They did not add any gimmicky add-ons to the deal and honored their original quote, which was to simply drive it off the lot as-is. Additionally, he gave me a voucher to bring the car back to have the headlights buffed and cleared for no additional charge. I have mixed feelings on Walker, I got my first car here, a $12,000 2017 Toyota Corolla. I love my car! But I feel like they overpriced it for a used car with almost 200,000 miles.. but I was a little dumb and decided to go with it because I needed a car as soon as possible. The process was super quick and easy but there were issues with the car I was never told about. It needed new rotors and break pads as well as being really low on coolant. The car vibrates a bit when driving as well. I just feel a bit scammed but it does drive good and I do love my car. read more

I have been going to this dealership to get my 2018 Hybrid Camry serviced on since I moved here in July 2020. The service advisors are very knowledgeable and helpful. I mostly just get routine maintenance on my car but if I had a problem with my car, I would not hesitate reaching out to them. The lounge waiting area is kind of small and there aren't many amenities like some Toyota dealerships. However, it is a comfortable lounge area but small (and it can get crowded). They do have a coffee maker and used to offer free bottled water. But as of today, May 31, 2023, only the coffee machine remains and a few vending machines. Scheduling online is relatively easy but they do book up pretty quick. I wish they offered service on Saturdays. That would make it a lot more convenient since people are usually busy during the weekday. However, the service is very good and I will continue to go there. read more

Dealership under new ownership as of 08/04/2025. Now called south Dayton Toyota. Everyone I dealt with (salesmen, sales manager and finance) were all super friendly. No high pressure. Very willing to work a deal that makes sense without pulling teeth or scare tactics. I bought a couple of new cars recently and spoke to quite a few dealerships in the process. Bought a new car through them. First, they couldn't tell me if there was a factory available hitch (months later, they finally told me no.) Got roof racks from them, the tech stripped the bots on install, had to go back for re attach. Then they couldn't schedule a recall repair unless I made a separate trip from the routine (covered) maintenance. Finally, get to the recall appt - they said 90 minutes for a program update. ("Dave" the service counter guy, said that was really extra time, just in case it took longer.) After waiting two hours, I had to go hunt Dave down. It took another counter rep to actually go check on the issue with the tech as Dave couldn't be bothered. Turns out the tech couldn't figure out how to download the program. Dave never bothered to check on what was taking so long. Then Dave got all huffy when I suggested that they perhaps needed better or better trained tech (This was after I waited almost three hours for a "90 minute recall" repair.) Don't buy from Walker as they don't care once they have your cash. And definitely don't deal with "Dave." read more

The service writer told my son he's voided his power train warranty because the truck he has just purchased had an 'aftermarket oil filter' installed on it. That's after he'd watched these morons spill oil all over his two year old truck. Ridiculous! This was an even worse experience than most dealer service. It's too bad I don't own the truck myself. I have been to Walker Toyota for service without incident, but today I was not as fortunate. To be accurate and completely transparent I'll review the dealer important aspects to give you a good idea. Reception: reception was great and smooth. The lady who helped me out was quick and knowledgeable. Five stars Shuttle: I used the shuttle to get back home while my 4Runner was in for service and the ride was fine. Five stars Actual Vehicle service: the actual maintenance seems to be ok, but it was just a tire rotation. ISSUE: The issue and justification for one star is theft. I am a retired Army soldier (21 years), a single parent to a 10 year old girl and do not know anyone. Furthermore, my car is new and I'm relatively new in the area so I don't know anyone nor has anyone besides me driven the car. That said, someone at Walker stole an iPhone HDMI adapter cable from my vehicle, silly right? The value is insignificant and honestly if they needed it that bad I would have given it to them. However, they stole it. I use that adapter to put shows on for my kid on long drives and it doesn't cost much. Ultimately, I am at fault for not securing it, but it didn't dawn upon me that some disgusting degenerate would be steal my adapter. SUMMARY: I do not recommend Walker Toyota for service and advise you to find a more honest dealership. Allowing a dealership to service your vehicle requires trust and when they are stealing items from your vehicle there is no trust. Go to Voss which is equally as close by or drive further to somewhere else where your car will not be ransacked. read more

Also, the salesperson explained nothing about the car or features until I learned through YouTube about all the cool features I was missing out on a year later. We went to Beechmont Toyota for another Toyota and worked with David Roth... He spent over an hour explaining all the features and really went into detail.. My salesman, Avery, was extremely patient and knowledgeable, especially when it came to teaching me all the many new features. I bought a new Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum from this dealership, last year (while still under warranty) it started leaking water through my Bluetooth speaker onto me. I was made to bring my car back to them at least 4 times before they would replace any parts. Now, a year later I have the same problem and their service manager WILL NOT even call me back. After wasting multiple hours driving back and forth to drop off and pick up my car I still have the same issue and I'm just stuck with it. Not only that, but I had them order a part for a recall during my MANY trips last year, and when it came in I got a call to bring my car in AGAIN. Not two hours later I got another call scolding me for letting the part sit there for so long and they would be sending it back since I didn't make an appointment (I was at another appointment during the first call and said I would call back to schedule.) horrible customer service. i bought a brand new vehicle and they can't be bothered to answer my email less than two months later in regards to my car. sent to voicemails unless you act like you're going to be buying a vehicle. they forgot to take my deposit out of my account to reserve my vehicle after giving my card info. did not inform me my car was going to be over a month after the estimated time of arrival. you would think they'd be a tad more responsive given that i put 20K down on a vehicle, but nothing like having to beg for a response from a guy who made commission off the vehicle, and is the internet sales manager. A few weeks later he received notification that the vehicle had arrived and been sold to someone else even though He had a deposit to hold it. It turned out the car wasn't prepped right so I had to waste my time to bring it back in to get this resolved. They also failed to give me a second key and three weeks later, I still can;t get this resolved. Lots of things promised, nothing delivered. My mother purchased two cars at Walker in the past (usually the Toyota side), the third car she purchased she was talked into a Mitsubishi by the salesperson. She's getting up there in years and didn't take anyone with her or ask the appropriate questions. I look at the car and tell her to take it back (for her best interest). She did, the next day. They would not work with her on finding a more suitable car. We're talking the very next morning, within hours after she drove it home. Most car dealers allow you to take a car home first before signing if you want. She's taken it back several times. The sales manager even told her to wait until the loan works its way through the bank before coming back and he'll work with her. She comes back two weeks later and now she has a $6K NEGATIVE equity on the piece of crap! NEVER again will ANY of my family members do business with WALKER EVER again. This place has lost a lifetime of family members purchasing cars because if this. A lot of dealers have a 3 or 7 day return policy, nope, not Walker! They do NOT care after the sale is made. I'm actually ready right now to purchase my next car and I will take my business to a real dealer that stands behind their salespeople and product. Walker needs to make this right, but they won't. I would not wish a car shopping experience here on even my least favorite person. They displayed a lack of professionalism and seem to operate under the premise that they only need you as a customer once. What they fail to recognize is a horrible experience with one customer will spread by word of mouth quickly and will only reduce further sales. Avoid if possible as there are several other Toyota dealers in the Miami Valley. I would call specific individuals out by name but that would be unfair because I am hoping they will change for the better but it is highly unlikely. We had been looking for a car for my husband for about two months...we thought we had found one that was just right, but couldn't seem to get to the point of an actual sale (with another dealership). My husband finally decided that he had been waiting for a month on this and that to be done with the car he thought he wanted and he was done waiting. He called Randy Kepperling at Walker Auto Group because while he had been looking for a car, he had test-driven a Camry with Randy. He called Randy on a Sunday morning, asked if the car was still available (it was) and asked if the paperwork could be drawn up (Randy said yes!) and explained we were returning home from out of town to see the car and then most likely purchase it. Randy was enthusiastic and professional and he said all would be ready for us when we arrived. True to his word, when we pulled into the lot, the car was there waiting for us, all shiny and ready to test drive once more. Randy greeted us with a smile and a handshake and made sure we had cold bottled water for our drive (it was a hot day!) and off we went. We decided it was definitely the car for us, so we returned to the dealership and he had the paperwork all set. I think we were in and out of the dealership with our new car (traded in our current vehicle) in about 2 hours! It was amazing! Randy is a professional, but very approachable and kind. He is customer-service oriented through and through. We especially loved that he rides a bicycle through the lot if he needs to get somewhere so the customer doesn't wait as long (as they would if he walked)! He's genuine, which is rare in any area of customer service these days. We wanted to have two after market features added to the car, so when those were scheduled, we realized we would need another vehicle while those were being added. Randy arranged for a rental car (another Camry) for us and even brought the rental to my workplace and picked up ours to deliver it to the shop! He was gracious and patient with us throughout the whole process. If you go to Walker Auto Group - ask for Randy. You will be treated with respect, care, and professionalism. He's tops! read more
