I was so sorry to hear that these guys closed permanently!They installed four door speakers and an amp in my 2007 Ford Edge and the sound was supreme!Door speakers lasted over six years and the sun I got from them still ponds like crazy!It was only after my door speakers petered out on me(after years & years of max volume)that I came to realize these guys had closed up shop.I've been to Car Stereo Max twice & for some reason they can't seem to find me the right set up because both sets of door speakers they installed fell apart on me(the first set lasted less than a month)!I thoroughly explained to them on the second go around on how & what I was expecting so they replaced the Rockford Fosgate's(that blew in less than two weeks)with a set of JBL's.They claimed they were top of thr line!Not so much!Blew up after less than a year!So I had California Custom sounds insall some I purchased on line,paid $70.00 for just the speakers & they're junk!I'm in over $1,000.00 and still have not got where I want to be!HELP!!! Look NO further!!! In case you don't want to read, here's the summary: AFFORDABLE. FAST. FRIENDLY. PROFESSIONAL. FLAWLESS. -- I called Mr T's shop about a week before I got the windows on my Corolla tinted. I was quoted a very reasonable and fair price for all windows (not the windshield) over the phone. I talked to many different staff members over the phone each time I called to ask various questions. Each was professional, helpful, and friendly. Not to mention knowledgeable of the shop's procedures, pricing, and services. The day before my appointment, Mr T called and asked if I could bring my car in a day early, but I couldn't. They were overbooked. The shop was understanding and didn't try to shift around my appointment or anything like other shops might have. I took my car in at opening time (9 AM) and mentioned the ad on the website. Just a mere 3 hours later, my car was returned to the lot outside in the same condition as I handed it over. The only difference was, now, my beautiful 4 doors and rear window were tinted. Mr T called me and I went in. I initially expected I might have to argue because they would charge me more than the quoted price... however, they rang me up for the *same, affordable* price given over the phone. Mr T. gave me a small instructional paper that told me how to care for my new tint. He asked how I liked my tint, and I told him it was beautiful. He recommended their other services, including remote start which he gave an estimated price for. I'll definitely be going HERE if I decide to have that done. I paid Mr. T Autocraft to install a dashcam and backup battery, then a bit over a year later paid them once again to take it out. They did not; in fact chopping ends off of the wires used to ground, and tap into the fuse box of my vehicle. They also discarded or kept other non-necessary wires and connectors that were included in the box of my new battery backup. They left the fuse tap in the fuse panel instead of removing it as they should have. The fuse they tapped into was for the windshield wipers, and it came loose after they cut the end of the wire, which caused the windshield wipers to quit working intermittently a few days later as I was driving in heavy rain on I-70. It is only luck that I thought to check the fuse box and found out the cause. If I would have taken the car to the dealer to check the windshield wipers I am sure they would have charged a diagnostic fee to fix the problem, that is if I was not in the hospital or worse due to Mr. T negligence in failing to remove the fuse tap properly. I sued Mr. T in small claims, and although I was awarded a small amount to cover the wires/connectors that Mr. T either kept or thew away, I was not awarded a partial or full refund for the install. I respectfully disagree with the magistrate who decided that even though Mr. T had left wires in my car and fuse box, this was somehow "proper" and compliant with industry standards. I disagree as I think that any reasonable person would consider this to be an incomplete, and careless uninstall of wiring. I am posing pictures of how I found this in my fuse box, and the public can decide if you agree with me. The installers and owner, I think his name is Jim, were very arrogant, rude and condescending in my dealings with them, and the owner bragged in court the Mr. T had been in business for over 50 years and does not need to advertise because they don't have to. I also had gone to Mr. T initially as they had a great reputation, but I have since read reviews that state otherwise, and at least one stated that their quality of work and customer service had gone downhill ever since Jim became the new owner. It is my opinion that Mr. T customer service is poor, attitude towards customer's concerns and safety is non-existent once they have your money, and at least in my case and in my opinion, the work is incompetent. Perhaps the public can decide if Mr. T is deserving of having a great "word of mouth" reputation. As far as I am concerned, they do not and I urge others to seek tint and electronics installation elsewhere. read more

Terrible service and extremely rude employees. Dropped my Acura off for a remote start install. About an hour or so after it was dropped off they called and told us the battery was shot and it wouldn't start but that they would install a new battery for $170 and continue the install but would not continue the install if we got our own new battery and brought it in. Obviously to triple the price for a battery and get more money. I called back to get more information on what was going on - things seemed fishy. I let them know that I took a video of the car inside, outside and under the hood before it was brought in. I let him know that battery was new, less than 6 months old. He told me it was ludacris that i would make accusations as if they did something to my car.. he continued to say things like "Listen crazy lady, I didn't kill your battery in 3 mins. It's dead and we have it on a charger so we can get it out of the garage." When asking for the name of who I was speaking to, I was hung up on. I called back and was hung up on again. I called again and again and then was told "Get your fu*king car now, it will be in the parking lot with the windows down and keys in it. Get fu*ked crazy B!*ch. If you call again, I'm having a flat bed pick your car up and take it to the impound." Mind you, they still have my vehicle and I wasn't planning on needing to coordinate a ride back so soon. Needless to say, we got my car and it started up just fine -assuming they righted their wrongs or there was just never an issue to begun with. Funny though, the guys didn't have the rude comments to say to my boyfriend when he went to pick it up. I was given the name of what I was told was the "Lead Manager" and that's Taylor. I assume the other guy was the owner, the "kitty", who was afraid to give his name up, I believe that would be John Flynn - the rude and disrespectful one who thinks it's cute to call women crazy b!+ch3s. Personally, I think if nothing wrong was done on their part then giving the name of who I was speaking with shouldn't have been a problem. The new owner of Mr T Autocraft is not customer friendly. I took my wife's Camry there due to a tear in the leather on the back seat. Whereas the prior owner would have ordered panels to fix the problem, the new owner told me that they don't do that anymore. He told me to order the entire back seat cover ($1400.00 of cost) bring it to him and they would install it. What a ripoff! Apparently he is not interested in doing small jobs! We made an 11:30 apt. 2 weeks ago as they were busy. On the day of the apt. We called to confirm we were still on the schedule. The "Customer Service" person at the desk who answers the phone said yes we have you down, we'll see you at 11:30. We get there 20 min early and the guy asked if we can leave it over night - no way they can get to it. I should note there is no way we would ever leave our car there in this area overnight, also it is a small parking lot and you are crammed in there like sardines (door bangs just waiting to happen). We explain we took off work and came down there because we have an apt. At 11:30. The guy laughs and says: we don't do apts. its first come first serve, if you had been here when we first opened we could have worked you in. My husband explains we called right after they opened and was told we were on for 11;30, see you then. Not - its first come first serve so get right down here. The customer service guy then starts yelling at my husband to which my husband replies "don't you yell at me, what kind of company is this?" Needless to say even though they do good work apparently, this kind of unprofessional behavior is not acceptable and we will not EVER go back to this company. read more
