Giving 2 stars as the tech was at least friendly, but this is the only business I've encountered where if their "repair" makes the problem worse they'll only refund the failed repair cost if you pay more money to fully replace the windshield. Pics are attached of the small crack before, and then the spreading crack immediately after. I was going to just suck it up and replace the windshield but that doesn't sit right with me that I paid full price for them to damage my windshield further. Updating to add that safelite did reach out a few days later and address the concern. Updating to 4 stars as their customer service after the fact was good. read more

I had a complete windshield repair scheduled to be done at my home in Spring 2021. Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. Unfortunately, the windshield wasn't installed properly. It was rattling and I could hear wind coming in through the passenger side. I had to go to the store so that they could look at it. They found nothing wrong. After that visit, I was able to get video of the noise coming from the windshield, and took my car back again. That time, they said that some clips were loose, and they were able to fix it. Unfortunately, the noise from the windshield continued. I called to let them know that I was still having problems and the person I spoke with on the phone said that I had a second full windshield repair, which I definitely had not. I had gotten a text from Safelite, informing me of service completed, on a day that I most definitely did not have my car there. I figured they just mixed up a phone number. But no, they actually tried to say that I got my windshield replaced twice. The glass chipped in less than four months. The entire experience was absolutely horrendous. My windshield never was installed properly, I was told I received more service than I did and now it's chipped too. I will never use this company again, and will tell everyone that I know to stay away! What a mess! Attaching a photo of their response to my review on Google. Safe lite on 48 in Dayton Ohio was our replacement glass people of choice. Our dashboard had two separate cracks in it and was replaceable through our insurance. We are waiting now on the call back to pick it up. I just want to say that the staff were gentleman. Good communication from every one both orally and through text and email. Quick service reattaching my rear view mirror. Didn't charge me a dime. Will definitely go back if I need windows replaced.

Needed a windshield replace due to a large crack. I scheduled a home visit and they came and replaced the windshield. A few days later, we noticed that there was water standing in the front passenger side floor. I scheduled a warranty visit and another rep came out and made the repair. A few days later we discovered that the floor is still getting damp when it rains. Not as much water as the first time but still wet. I scheduled another warranty visit and a third guy came to take a look. He was unable to find the problem and said that I would need to bring the car into their shop so they could pressure test to find where the water was coming from. This guy also messed up the wipers on the car so that they did not work. My husband found this out later in the day when he got caught in a downpour and had no wipers. Nearly had an accident trying to get off the road. I scheduled an appointment for the next day and took the car to the shop. Shortly after I dropped it off, I received a call from the tech looking at the car. He was rather gruff and told me that he wouldn't do a pressure test because the glue doesn't lie. They did manage to get the wipers working again. There is still water coming in because every time it rains the floor is wet. I called the warranty center and was told that they were going to get a Quality Manager involved to get the situation resolved. I never heard back from the Quality Manager so I called again today. The person I talked to just connected me with Nick from the same shop that insists that there isn't a problem. It was suggested at one point that I take the car to a dealership and have the issue checked out. However, I didn't have any water leak before they replaced the windshield and find it highly unlikely that there would be suddenly be another issue causing the wet floor. read more

Awful customer service! I scheduled a windshield replacement online and paid with CC. Needing to later reschedule that appointment, I followed the original confirmation email to my Dashboard to find that the work order had been inexplicably cancelled and refunded, without my knowledge! After 30 minutes of being bounced around by call center service agents, I was told there was nothing they could do and that I would have to just wait 7-10 business days for the refund. No attempt was made to assist me in rescheduling; in fact, 2 of the 3 agents I spoke with could not even successfully contact this shop! Very suspicious, as there is no public phone line to reach either. I was left with little choice but to pay another company for the replacement. I will not be using Safelite again. read more

I booJed an appointment with them and had to take my to work so I could meet them to replace the front window i her car. The tech showed on time and was very pleasant, but, he had the wrong glass. Mistakes happen, we rescheduled the appointmen. The day of the second appointment I again take my wife to work and when I got home I received an email saying the technician was on his way. It also had the total price. Well my original quote was for $250, the quote on the email was $1100.00! I called them and they told me he was going to replace ALL of the glass on the car! I said no way I just wanted the front glass nothing was wrong with the rest of glass. They agreed to replace just the front but the price had jumped from the original quote of $250 to over $500! I do not like bait and switch so I canceled the service. I did get window done at a reasonable price by a competitor. read more

Accidentally missed my appointment and staff were very accommodating rescheduling the service for the same day. Staff did a great job in a timely manner. I went through my insurance and only had to pay $50 out of pocket, but from what I heard while there, the service is reasonably priced. read more

Had a small ding in my windshield "repaired" by Safelite 3 weeks ago. Now, there are huge cracks, growing by the day, and I will now need a full replacement. I would give it no stars if I could. I scheduled my auto repair and the day of the repair they never showed. Then when I called the customer service representative was nasty and said we canceled when we didn't'. the rep was nasty to my husband when he was trying to figure out what happened and told him I must have canceled it. The rep got really nasty when we told him we wouldn't recommend this company. It is very disheartening to have to take the time off work to get the repair done and it doesn't happen and the customer service rep argues and tells you it's your fault when we NEVER canceled. we even had the confirmation/work order number. read more

Took 5.5 hours we were the first in the early morning at 7, sloppy cut around the windshield. Was very awkward when we paid. Didn't bring us up to the counter. And he took our $2 in change. I also like they have wifi in the waiting area so I didn't have to take off of work, just worked from here. This is a year after my first replacement. I had a leak I thought was the windshield. After my insurance company highly recommended Safelite to replace my damaged windshield, i tried calling two locations. I answered the questions but was not able to get out of the automated question & answer process. I started on a Saturday two hours before the shops were to close. I tried both locations and was unable to talk to a real person after waiting more than 18 minutes at each location, i hung up due to frustration. So come Monday morning I did the same thing starting after 8 AM when the shops were opening. Just for fun, I called 7 times and was NEVER ABLE TO TALK TO A REAL PERSON. Safelite.... If you want business from the general public and/or from recommended insurance companies, you will have to fix your horrible automated phone answering processES. Really quite unbelievable. I scheduled my appointment a full week in advance. I dropped off my vehicle a full two hours before the scheduled appointment. I took an Uber at a cost a $49.49 (plus $6 tip) to a destination. I got a call from a fellow named Skylar that they can't find my parts and that someone in a Columbus store didn't log an inventory change so they can't take care of things. Spoke with Andre who offered me a number of excuses but no path to a resolution. Bobby from the store picked me up and brought me back. I went to pick up my keys and let André know my frustration but he wasn't interested in listening and waved me off. When I pointed that out, he folded his hands under his chin, gave me the patronizing look, and said "fine, I'm listening." At that point I asked for my keys and then left. read more

For me it took 4 times to finally get the windshield replaced on my 2019 Cadillac XT5. 1st time it was the wrong one brought. Second time the window had scratches on it that the tech wasn't able to remove, 3rd time the tech cracked the glass along the bottom edge upon installation. 4th time was the charm and it was completed. My forward collision camera was calibrated however my rain sensor now doesn't work, Not sure what is up with that. :( For the future I would suggest making sure the right glass is brought and checked prior to leaving the shop for installation for defects to keep re-scheduling issues from happening. But when I came in for my appointment the man was trying to say I didn't have an appointment when I came in 2 days prior and HE made the appointment for me himself.
