Probably the worst location you could go for anything tire related (which is what they "specialize" in). $500 (was initially quoted closer to $400) for 2 back tire replacements and an oil change. Brought it in Saturday at 11am, they promised they'd have it back to me same day before they closed at 7pm. I received a call at 2:30pm saying their tire technician is out (again they specialize in tires) and they wouldn't have it ready until tomorrow afternoon. The next day rolls around and they call me at 3pm saying my car is ready. As I walk in I see a guy sitting there who is also upset as the associate at pep boys said they were unable to lift his basic F-150 truck up in the bay. They ended up being able to do it but said it would take a full week to replace his 4 tires. Upon walking in I waited 30 minutes for an associate to arrive to the counter to print out my $500 invoice for a simple service... read more

I just left this pathetic store two hours ago. They were supposed to fix my tire sensor. Paid the 130. Get in the car and it still says service tire monitor and the light is flashing. Amanda B tells me that's common and it will go away in a few minutes. Drove over 40 miles, live in Cincinnati, and it's still on. I called and no one picks up. I call the store and manager, Justin Carpenter, and nothing. After being hung up on 3 times by the 1800 number, they finally connect me with Amanda. She tells me they forgot to reset the sensor and to drive the 40 miles back. Are you kidding me!?? I should have learned my lesson b/c I had an appointment 2 days ago in Cincinnati, got there and they told me they couldn't squeeze me in. read more

This place is the absolute worst! If you have the option to take your car somewhere else... do it. They are shorthanded and take more appointments than they can handle. And their customer service is awful as well. I had a 9am appointment this morning to simply change 4 tires. I sat in the waiting area for over 3 hours before I finally went up to the counter to check the status. They then told me they hadn't even started on it. I paid for an alignment and I brought my truck back the next day. The refused to do it even though they claimed it was guaranteed. . Furthermore, I inadvertently left my phone on the counter. The counter guy turned my phone off so that I could not track it. After 4 hours with my phone company. And my sons due diligence. I was able to track my phone and it was under the counter at pep boys. Springboro pike. The same guy claimed it was there but no body called for it. I have been calling my phone for hours. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was not acknowledged for quite sometime when I walked in, then told some one else would be with me soon. I felt like leaving then-I wish I would have. I was told they would do a brake inspection and then let me know what they find. I told him I was walking across the street with my 2 teenagers, there was no where to sit in the lobby. Two and a half hours later, I get a text. We return to the office, I check in with the only guy there and he stated my paperwork "wasn't supposed to be on his desk." I just needed my brake pads changed, but was told they could not just do the brake pads, of course they had a list of things that needed to be done. I asked for my keys back. I just recently got an oil change here for my 2017 Hyundai. A couple days later the check engine light came on for the first time since I bought the car, despite only having 27,000 miles. I ran a diagnostic and it's now saying I have a serious engine issue despite the fact that a) this did not exist in any way until I got the oil change and b) the car is practically NEW!! I called the location afterward to voice my concerns and, when someone finally bothered to answer the phone, said they could look at it but that I would need to pay the normal rates. When I said I had receipts, both for the change where there were "no issues found" and a diagnostic from two hours ago, I was rudely told that mechanics would be in later in the day and I could bring the car in if I wanted to. Good luck with that, I know where this is going. Never coming here again. If you want reliable service and any decent customer service you're better off going elsewhere. read more

I took my parents truck up to have a diagnostic done to find out if there any problems with the truck besides the fuel leak that was going on. They, in my opinion, completely robbed them and did a horrible job. I'm so angry that there are places like this that see an elderly couple and think they can just take advantage of them, and God forbid you try and talk to who claims to be the manager. He was incredibly rude and kept interrupting me. He refused to take a responsibility for his mistake and simply said "everyone makes mistakes, their human ". He stated that they did job and there was nothing they would. I asked for a partial refund. I was told absolutely not. I will never return to them, nor will I ever recommend anyone to take her vehicle there for any reason whatsoever. Do your homework and look around before and trusting this place. Quite poor customer service. The worse is that they mislead their customers: they told that my car doesn't need a tire rotation just because tread level is all even for all tires. And now tires are making noise because tread levels are uneven. I missed tire rotation because of them. And it will cost me four new tires. Arrived at 9:30am for a 10am appointment made two days prior. Then proceeded to sit for a solid two-plus hours before the vehicle was taken back, waiting for them to do a one hour job. In fact, the only reason they started was I began making motions toward reclaiming my car and leaving. It's not like I didn't have anything else to do today. (Narrator: That's not true - he DID have other things to do.) If you can't handle cars at the appointed times, then don't take appointments. It's not like it's a big secret or surprise that people are coming in - that's what the appointment system is for. Awful and very disappointed. I went in for a simple oil change and new head lights. First of all, it took them 4 hours to change the head lights. I was waiting there the entire time with my 18 month old. Then I discover they did not even top off my fluids like most places. Not only that, but today while driving my car over heated and started smoking on the high way. Come to find out, they didn't screw on the coolant seal and it has been leaking out since then. This location usually does a decent job but I made an appointment earlier this week to have my serpentine belt changed as well as my oil and fix an issue with my tail lights (which have been going out despite me having to have them change the sockets a few months ago) at noon and it's now four pm and they hadn't even touched my car and are now telling me I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning for them to continue servicing it. I even asked when I dropped it off if it would be done by today and they said it would be. They have serviced the cars that came in after me even though I made an appointment. And I can understand that they are behind due to COVID but that doesn't excuse them for telling me it would be done today when it won't be and taking so long to even get to my car when I had made an appointment days prior to. When you call ahead and ask if they can fix a tire, then drive 40 minutes for a hour and a half wait only to arrive and be told by another employee that they won't get you in till tomorrow. My little sister, who is home from college took it upon herself to go get tires since she's home for Thanksgiving break. She was told her appointment had to be in the afternoon because her Acura required tires they would need to get from another location, so my sister and the pep boy employee mutually agreed that 3:00 would be good. She dropped off her car at 2:30 and they said "great, give us an hour and it'll be ready. we have the tires". She came back around 4:00 and the car had not been touched. She waited around, nobody's said anything to her, no update until around 5:00 when an employee came out and told her, sighing and acting annoyed "we are short 1 tire, we normally don't do this but i guess we will go pick one up from another location" ??!!!!! What the heck?! Why would this employee act like this was some sort of favor?! This wouldn't even be an issue for a decent service shop!! Considering the service they promised would be done hours before required it and they were too careless to check inventory before promising a time!!! I understand it's the holiday season, I understand they're busy, but if you're in the SERVICE field, provide SERVICE or get a job in a new field. The employees at this pep boys are DISGUSTING (especially Amanda at the front desk, who was everything but empathetic when my mother called expressing her frustration as my little sister is not able to make it to dinner and our annual Christmas light night with everyone) and an embarrassment for the entire pep boys company as the whole. Save yourself the pain and go elsewhere!! Anywhere else! Update: Now past 6:15 and she is still there, and they didn't offer her anything for the horrible service, no discount, NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY. My husband bought four tires through the Pep Boys website and scheduled an appointment to have them installed. He arrived on time and waited three hours on his day off for the work to be done. Once he got home and really looked at his new tires, he discovered that they had put the wrong tires on his truck. He called immediately and the manager, I think his name is Kent, tried to talk him into keeping the wrong tires anyway. We look online and the tire they DID use was lower in price, the wrong size and a HT model instead of the AT he bought. He calls them again, says he wants the original purchased model of tire or the 275 they put on instead of the 265 in the AT model. Both have dropped in price over night and would be a great recovery move for the customer. Instead, he waited another 2 hours for them to tell him there was nothing they could do by way of making it up to him. UNACCEPTABLE! It had been a while since either of us had used a PepBoy location because of shoddy service in the past but the tires themselves were a good price. I've been into this location several times for various needs. The employees are always friendly - greeting me when I enter and exit. They're also very knowledgeable and helpful. Most recently I needed something to make my seatbelt more comfortable as it was hitting me across the neck rather than on my shoulder. This place is just bad. My wife's car needed a new starter, took literally almost all day to get it fixed. That's not the worst part tho. After the car was fixed I pulled out of the parking lot and all the sudden my car was not shifting and top speed was about 15 mph. Turned right around and told pep boys about what was going it. They said they had no idea and nothing they done could of did that. (Car was fine in that aspect before I brought it in) I took it down the road to the Chevy dealership. They told me pep boys totally blew a fuse somewhere in my car and that's why it wasn't shifting. Worst customer service ever I made an appointment online arrived on time and was told they didn't know about it the computer doesn't alert them half the time even though I had my confirmation they told me there's no one there that can do a front end alignment after 5 p.m. although their software allows an appointment to be made up until 7 for that service. The very dismissive employees told me that I should have called and they would have told me that could not be done after 5. So apparently the customer is always wrong at this store I don't understand the point in having an online scheduling system if when you get there they tell you you should have called. If they can't operate their computers they can't operate their computer-controlled equipment either I would avoid them at all cost. read more

Went in for a screw in my tire on a Sunday. The least ideal time since they are short staffed and the only place open to put a plug in on a Sunday. After 2 hours in the waiting room I was told it couldn't be patched and I would need a new tire. (None of this is what bothered me at all, the guys were nice enough and the place is clean no complaints there.) What does bother me is when I said I would be going elsewhere to get my tire and would like them to put the doughnut back on and fill it with air (not to be rude but because my friend owns a shop but is out of town for the weekend) They put the doughnut back on and put no air in it but told me they did. So my spare tire was 40 PSI under pressure as I pull out of their parking lot and thank god I checked down the street when I got gas because I had to drive 25 miles to work and I am sure that the spare would have either blown out or would have been in really bad shape driving that far, being that much under pressure. So putting other peoples vehicles/ lives at risk obviously doesn't matter to them at this location. I do not recommend going here at all. read more

I purchased two tires from Amazon and optioned to have the tires sent to Pregpirls for install. The tires were signed 04/30/19, according to FedEx. Four full business days later and They haven't even contacted men. Also,notebeaill i have called the location 50 x i have been answered only twice and hung up on bothtes. Update: Called pep boys Monday morning and the tire rep said the shop was wide open. When I got there only one vehicle was being serviced and approximately 7 or 8 bays empty. I checked in at the tire desk and a few minutes later they okayed everything and told me sit back and relax. Instead, like any man, i wanted to shop the store as it was my first time in pep boys. 45 minutes later I realize my tireswas still on my truck. They said they had to wait for the manager because my truck has wheel spacers. Sure, whatever! After getting the okay to remove the wheels the techs realized they didn't have the correct splined locking lug nut socket. Yes, I forgot mine at home, but why does Pep boys not have this common tool like every other Tire Marchant in the world. They didn't even sell one in the store. Instead, of operating in a respectable business manner and solving the problem they put the responsibility on me, the paying customer, to acquire the required tool. Mind you i drove 30 minutes to this store and my tires were beyond to dangerous to even hold air pressure. Needless to say I jumped in my truck, went 1/4 up the road and pulled into Discount Tire. Trying to purchase the tool, however Discount Tire didn't sell one, but the manager selflessly searched for the tool. He found one, but wrong size. As i was at the stop sign after leaving Discount Tire the manage waived me down, ran to my truck, made sure the tool fit, and said to keep. Thats Good business. I left Pep Boys for a total of 15 minutes or less. When I arrived I pulled my truck around and parked in front of the service bay. When i got out of the truck i was informed that i now at the back of the line and have to wait for the tech to service two other vehicles. I was going to pay for an alignment, but after the service I received i wouldn't trust their tech to check my windshield wiper fluid. Also note, 24 hours after installation I had to put air in the brand new tire as it was nearly flat with less that 100 miles. It's worth noting that my previous tires never once in two years leaked, and I drove 3,000 miles with the metal wires visible. My Pep Boys Experience beginning to end is the worst service I have ever received as a paying customer. Its the most rude, immature, inconsiderate, and incompetent customer service I have ever dealt with and it's shaping up to include terrible performance from the service I paid for read more

Service department is full of liars!! Make sure you mark your tires if you ever need a tire rotation. I specifically asked if my tires were going to be rotated as part of my service package and was assured they would be. I made sure to mark my tires and sure enough no one even touched them. When I went back in and asked if they were rotated the guy (Justin) said yes they were. I told him I had marked them and they weren't and he told me to bring it around again to be done. It was a Friday afternoon and I had left my car there for over 5 hours and wanted to go home. When I asked for the manager he said he wasn't there and as I was leaving Justin threw me the peace sign and said "see ya!" Absolutely pathetic customer service. Go elsewhere!!!! read more

Used the online tool to schedule for a simple Oil change and Tire rotation with an added Tire Balancing. Wife goes to have the service done at 3pm. Shows up and the staff look at her like she's an idiot and no idea what to do to the car. She tells them, I set up an appointment online they say Oh ya here it is. So she waits pays the 90+ dollar bill she receives thinking nothing of it. What I requested turned into an oil change and alignment bit a price difference in services, I find out when I get home from work, I call get hung up on after it rang 47 times the first time and when I say hung up I mean someone answered and you can hear the back ground then instantly hangs up the phone. This happens 3 times in a row each time the phone rings less and less. I get angry and frustrated so I take myself up there with my bill in hand and a print out of my scheduled time and services I requested. - Long story short I was told to "go f*ck myself and just leave." Those exact, precise words. I will never be taking my vehicle to any Pep Boys and I recommend everyone and anyone else to take your vehicle to any other place than Pep Boys. You get rude customer service reps , over priced stuff , arrogant staff a head ache and a hurt wallet. I went there to get my radiator flushed because it was not getting heat. They told me I needed a new radiator (which was only about 6 months old) and told me it would cost about 900 dollars. I took it to Dixon's automotive in Moraine for a second opinion where I was informed that my radiator was fine. I just needed a thermostat and they replaced it for under 20 dollars. Avoid the Miamisburg Pepboys at all costs, they will rip you off. Save hundreds by going to locally owned shops. read more

We took our car in for some minor repairs to the battery cables. We were told this would resolve our issue with the car not wanting to start every time. The next day we had the same issues. After taking the car BACK in 2 weeks later, I sat and watched our car sitting in the bay with the hood open for over an hour while 7 techs milled around and chatted with one another INSIDE THE ACTUAL STORE. Finally, they tell me I need a new battery and a short list of other battery/electrical parts replaced related to the repairs they were originally supposed to make. When asked if they were going to cover the cost, being that the repairs were never actually repaired, Dave became offended and defensive. He told me if I bought a new car and drove the car for 4 years and something went wrong, would I expect the dealership to fix it. My response was, 'Yes, it's called a warranty. Now, please back my car out.' He immediately starting cutting the price with hopes they could continue to dig in our pockets as much as they could. Needless to say, that was not going to happen. I drove a quarter mile down the road, bought a new battery, and haven't had a problem since. Save yourself time and frustration. read more
