Extremely rude cashier when I tried to pick up an online order. My order included several bags of Mounds candy and 2 of the Starbursts. When I got back to inspect the contents, the Starbursts were ripped open not sure by whom or what and contents were missing so it was just the empty bags. The other candy bags I got almost all were also chewed through with small holes likely from a rodent infestation. I will not go back to this location. I notified the customer service line, and they apologized but I'm still out like $20. read more

This Walgreens continues to go downhill. Pharmacy help at the window is abysmal - lines grow and grow - they need to make that area efficient but that is the least of it. Most things are under lock and key so you have to keep calling someone to open a lock. There are shady characters inside and outside the building. It just feels so negative all around - it's convenient so I use it when it's cold outside but I'd rather walk a half mile to a different one when weather permits. They really need to do something there. read more

If youre here for a quick snack or household item, this place can be great. However, I would not recommend the pharmacy unless you're a very patient person. It's pretty slow, and I remember being told multiple times to come back (for two pills) and was told when I came back the worker was just starting on them. This Walgreens is really cool because of how it is set up. When you enter their first flor is snacks and drinks, the basement has all medicines and their 2nd floor has their beauty salon and make-up. It is so terrible to find parking around here, I parked like a block away. read more

This is genuinely the nicest Walgreens I have ever been to you don't even feel like you're in a Walgreens. It has three floors honestly it doesn't feel necessary because there's so much empty space but it's cute. It does make things a little bit difficult to find too, like my friends and I spent forever looking for soap all the cleaning and products only to find it upstairs with the hair dye. That didn't make any sense. They also have all of the cleaning supplies locked away, assuming because that's what homeless people take the most. my recommendation is to do a monthly drive and give people who live on the streets and experience homelessness the products that they need. As someone who works impress, I know that this would not only be a good opportunity for Walgreens, but would sure that the people around the products they need and would not have to steal. This is how you get to the root of a problem without inconveniencing others. There was also a sign saying that they do not accept EBT for sushi anymore, which is also very discriminatory, I have a feeling that the store has poor sentiment towards people experiencing homelessness and it's very classist... read more

This location of Walgreens represents the future of convenience stores. It's in the heart of well trafficked Chinatown in down Washington, D.C. and caters to the urbanite on the go. It's three levels, well organized, and the cashier system is a well oiled machine. The ground floor is food on the go and even has a section for basic groceries like eggs and milk. The bottom floor is the pharmacy and toiletries. The top floor has more items for sale! It's clean and efficient and I've always had a positive experience! read more

Bottom Line: A bright, newish three-floor Walgreens in DC's Chinatown. Overall, this corner Walgreens is great. It has three stories of medicine, candy, makeup, beer, greeting cards and other assorted drug store stuff. There is a pharmacy on the bottom floor and a nail bar on the top floor. Everything is bright and shiny and the store is right next to the Chinatown Friendship Gate. If the escalators were working and if the store had self-checkout, I would probably give it five stars. read more

Another late night walk to grab some late night snacks brought me here one night. It was a bit of a haul for me, but when I'm in a different city I don't mind that, it give me a chance to take in things that I normally won't see. After trying a competitor one night and not liking my experience I decided to take a little longer of a walk this particular night and venture here. Glad I did, much more vibrant and more of a selection without having to climb over things. I browsed and browsed and ended up just picking up tons of different things just because I could. So much so that I needed to use one of those baskets that have wheels on them. I was trying to plan ahead and kind of went overboard. Once done checking out was fairly quick and I kind of liked the reusable bag section they had going for them. Much better than paying for the plastic bag I would forget about in mere seconds after leaving the store. One thing to note, if you are like me and decided to venture out late at night. Bathrooms close here at 10:30 pm, at least that is what an employee told me. So if you bladder is full, think twice before venturing here, or scope out the surrounding area to find a bathroom, because it will not be here. This store is 3 levels in Chinatown, DC, right at the Gallery Place metro station. Because it is in DC and not MD, it sells wine and beer along with the usual stuff. The ground level has candy, refrigerated drinks, sandwiches in a large refrigerated area, and the checkouts. There is a long counter if you want to eat your sandwich there, but no chairs. The need to make sure the lightbulbs are working. One at the end of the candy aisle was blinking incessantly andheadache inducing. It would have been better to remove it completely until they got a replacement. There is an elevator at the back of the store, easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. With such a large store they really need carts, which are behind the cashier counter I guess for safety reasons. You have to walk to the far side of the cash registers to find them. They don't really work on the escalators. Lower level has food, housewares, healthcare. basically everything else besides cosmetics. 2nd floor has all cosmetics and a nail bar. Ok, it's a Walgreens. But it's a Walgreens in the super busy Chinatown area of DC. They've done well with a cramped location, the store is spread out over 3 levels. The ground level has most of the "grab and go" items, sodas, snacks, etc you'd find at a typical Walgreens. However they are catering to the work crowd also with sandwiches and other made to go food. It's mainly during lunch through dinner hours, they start breaking the area down to clean etc after a certain point in the evening, not sure exactly when but definitely a few hours before closing time at midnight. There is an ATM (CIti the last time I looked) on this floor also. Upstairs seems to have mostly makeup etc, I didn't venture up there much as it's not my thing. The downstairs area has more of the items you'd typically find at Walgreens. Housewares, cleaning supplies, grocery items, toiletries etc. Super well stocked, you can tell they're aiming to be a destination for people who live in the neighborhood who don't want to make a run to a full blown grocery store every time they need something. The lines can back up a bit as it is in a super busy area of the city. The staff is generally very efficient and cheerful. You do have a few regular panhandlers that almost seem to live outside, some of them have gotten quite good at actively guilt tripping people leaving the store if you don't give them some cash. This place is a solid addition to the Chinatown area. Not as much charm as an old Chinese convenience store would be, but DC's Chinatown has long ceased to be the cultural enclave it used to be. read more

I usually go to CVS for my pharmacy needs because after years and years of habit, it's just what I do. BUT, my eye doctor gave me a coupon for the eye drops I needed that would take them from $200 to $25 and was only valid at Walgreens, so! The pharmacy process here was seamless. Barely any lines, no issues whatsoever, coupon went through with no questions. FYI, the signage here is clear, but yes, the pharmacy is downstairs. Maybe someday when CVS finally pisses me off enough I'll make the big switch to here. read more

A three-level store, and one of three flagship stores in the US (if I recall correctly, the other two are in LA [Hollywood & Sunset-ish] and Boston). Frozen yogurt at the entrance/exit, with a convenient product-placement oriented queue at check-out (brilliant, considering how many times check-out-lines interfere with traffic patterns for those still shopping at drug stores). Back-lit and neatly organized display shelves for all the necessities on the lower level. Skincare and cosmetics on the upper level - shining brightly with natural light, and stocked with No. 7 products from the UK. Reminded me of Boots in London. :-) Kudos to the logistics engineers and marketers for thinking up this store concept. read more

I called Walgreens on Saturday to get a refill on my medication. This is a serious medication that my life depends on. I am not exaggerating, I have a chronic condition and if I do not take this medication, then I will literally die. Amanda answered the phone and said that the insurance company I have, who filled this medication just a month ago, denied the request and would not fill the medication. Amanda sounded bored, uninterested and like she was ready to go home and didn't want to be there. I told her how important the medication is, it was filled before and needed help figuring out why it couldn't be filled now. She clicked around, sighed on the phone like I was asking too much of her, and then she told me, "I don't know why. My shift is over, so I need to go. You're going to have to call back tomorrow." Then she ended the call. I called the next day and Viktor answered the phone. I told him that I needed to get my medication filled, I had called yesterday, and there was some sort of insurance issue. Viktor then started talking to other people on the other side of the phone. He came back and immediately put me on hold and I waited for quite some time. He came back again and said, "Hello?" As soon as I opened my mouth to respond, he hung up. Then I had to call back and wait on hold for a long time again to speak to someone. This time Habiyada answered the phone. She told me she had only been working there for a month and was quickly able to find a resolution. Apparently, they were trying to bill my insurance for a 3-month supply, which they don't accept. But they accept one month at a time, so she was able to get that quickly approved with no issue. It confuses me how someone who is brand new could be so awesome at troubleshooting issues with insurance companies and finding resolutions for clients on the phone, while people like Amanda and Viktor, who have been working there for longer, refuse to help / can't find a resolution / just hang up on me. Again, to reiterate, MY LIFE DEPENDS on this medication. I cannot afford to subject myself and my health to the petty whims of disgruntled employees that clearly do not want to help. The cost of this is my life, and that cost is far too high. I need to know what Walgreens will do about this issue. The circumstances are too dire for me for this to get overlooked. read more

Three levels of amazingness that is Walgreens. You'll find everything from snacks, pharmaceuticals, vitamins, your much needed bottled water, to prepackaged sandwiches and salads. Our hotel was incredibly close to this Walgreens which turned out to be in our benefit. The POD hotel did not provide filtered water in the lobby (as most hotels do) so we were forced to purchase beverages from the nearby Walgreens during our stay. It's not that I don't trust local water ... but.... I don't not trust it. Walgreens has all the things. Vitamin C? Got it. Tampons? Yep. Ben & Jerry's? Hell ya. Cheap wine? Of course. And all the snacks one could possibly want. All this aside, this Walgreens has a high PD presence. Which you can take however you want. But in my time there, I felt a-okay. read more

Don't ever doubt the need for a local Walgreens. There I was, visiting the great city of DC, and I just needed some bottled water to quench my thirst. Now am I a one bottle day person? Nope, more like one bottle an hour drinker. So I knew I needed to find somewhere to purchase a case of water, but within walking distance of where I was staying. And there on the corner, calling out like a lighthouse in a parched ocean, I saw the sign. What I did not realize was this is a two story Walgreens, which led to me wandering around for a few minutes. It is everything you could possibly need while out of town and more. Pharmacy, photo studio, makeup tutorials. But again, I just came for water. And water is what I left with...and a few snacks. The absolute worst convenience store I have ever gone to in my entire life. Terrible customer service, inefficient workers, and just plain lazy people. Try to avoid it and go to CVS off K street. Once I went to pick up contacts that I ordered online and they 1. Lost my contact box and 2. Made me wait a good 30 minutes just to see what "may" have happened to it. Another time I purchased two bags of mms because they were on special 2 for $5 but $4 with an in-store coupon. When I asked the cashier for the coupon, she ignored me. No coupon, no price check, no acknowledgement. I literally just stood there waiting to see if she would actually respond to my inquiry. A week ago they were shut down for a health code violation. This Walgreens is legitimately bigger than some Targets I've been to. It spans three floors, including one underground with most of the standard drugstore items. The ground level floor is where all the food is, as well as a decent beer (and canned wine) selection. The prices on their snacks are fine, but the fruit is highway robbery - at the rates they go at, you'd think the prices would be per pound, but nope, they're for individual pieces. The drinks are as cheap as you can find anywhere in DC though (e.g. $16 for a 24-rack of Budweiser), so it's great for a late-night beverage run. Lastly, the topmost floor is where you'll find shampoo, conditioner, beauty products, and all other manner of personal care items. Most importantly, don't let the boarded-up windows fool you - this location is open and operating at normal hours. read more

June 8, 2023 between 21:48-21:50 I stopped by this Walgreens after having departed Eaton DC. I needed to replenish some fluid after having dance my stress away. Walk in grab the cold pressed coconut water from the cooler. There were three people ahead of me. The register closes to the exit had a personnel switch. I reach the register the young lady rings me up tells me the price I reached in my duffle bag backpack pull out my wallet on the have it revealed I left my debit card at Eaton. I apologized she share No things happen I walk out the store in disarray this very nice brother walks out pursues me on the corner asked me how was the water I quote the price he pulls out his wallet and hands me five dollars. I was so excited I went back into the store This time The middle register is being occupied by this young male with textured hair as if he'd taken out his Loc style.little pass his shoulders. 1) he calls out next I reach the register no pleasantries were extended I called it all joy 2) he rings up the coconut water mumbles the price thank god I can read. 3)This was the last scenario I cared to entertain!!! I hand him the five dollar bill he takes it as if I have a plague. He takes my change with the dollar and drops it in my hand!! If he's concerned about touching people why not put on gloves????????? Need makeup on trip to DC as my make up bag did not get packed! The store was 2 story, so different from our local stores. They also had fresh foods and souviners. Great selection of makeup and very helpful staff specifically for that section of the store upstairs. They had security in the store, which seemed to be needed, as just outside the doors was a guy who was probably messed up on drugs splayed on the sidewalk making some strange sounds. He was there 3 times we shopped in that Walgreens. Cops were right there, but did not do anything about it. May be standard in DC, but was a little scary. I would not walk there at night. read more

Nearly every item in the bath/shower department is behind locked covers. It says press the "need assistance" button, but I could not find a single one on that floor. It looks like they may have been ripped off from where they are supposed to be. The store reeked of weed--smoke as you please, but it is unacceptable for a store to smell that strongly. The staff were generally unhelpful and unprofessional. I only needed a few items, but many were locked away or just out of stock. I left empty handed. read more

Walter White must be the master mind behind this drug store because it is FANTASTICAL. This is not your ordinary Walgreens -- it is three levels of pure, unadulterated impulse buys. The third floor is a beauty addict's heaven. They sell lower end brands like Wet N' Wild as well as the higher end brands that you would see in Sephora. They even have an in house makeup consultant to help you choose the right colors for your complexion. Nails looking sad and neglected? Walgreens has got you! Walk in to their nail bar for a quick pick me up. The second floor is the perfect place to satisfy your munchies. If you are purchasing a meal at a drugstore you are most likely eating some type of Beef-a-roni and Fritos combination. Not here! Nourish yourself with prepared sandwiches, freshly pressed juices, self serve fro yo or even some craft beer from their beverage selection. This place is no joke! The bottom floor houses all of the medication that makes a drug store a drug store. Walk in and be amazed! All they need for me to move in is fee wi-fi and cafe style seating! read more

Wait, where am I? This is a drugstore? This isn't like my local CVS or Rite-Aid. I had to do a double take when I entered this store. It's bright. Very bright. The security guard greeted me with a friendly, "Hello." They have a row of fro-yo machines. Red Velvet?! Yes! And there's a juice bar with a play on DC themed names. There's also prepared "gourmet" sandwiches to grab and go. My favorite - bakery goods! they have those too! I bought a Vanilla Fig scone (made by Buzz Bakery) for $2.99. It was slightly more money than one from Panera around the corner, but it was huge (4"x4" square) and uniquely delicious. Upstairs is all white and bright - a glam girl's heaven, if she's into a Sephora-style cosmetics layout. There's an Essie - O.P.I. nail bar in the corner. When was the last time you when into a drugstore and said, "Wow!"? This Walgreen will make you do just that. read more

This has to be THE best Walgreens I've ever stepped foot in. I mean, just check out the current 4-star rating of this place - and for a Walgreens! As a whole, this store has a clean feel to it and is nicely updated. Maybe the coolest thing about this Walgreens hits you straight upon walking in...fro-yo!! Now I am not too big on frozen yogurt (truthfully I despise it...), but that is beside the point because this Walgreens has a full-out, self-serve fro-yo bar! You've got to admit that that is pretty amazing. Take the escalator, that's right escalator!!, down one level and you'll find a big ol room of Walgreensy items...AND one of those fancy Dr. Scholl's Orthotics Custom Fit Machines, that calibrate how terribly whacked your feet are!! Fun stuff. Now head on up to the third floor and you'll find an entire floor dedicated to beauty supplies, as in perfumes, nail polishes, hair products, the like. It's a drugstore wonderland! When did drugstores get this crazy nice? It's so pretty and clean, and they have like everything. The upstairs is all beauty items. And it's arranged oh-so-prettily. It's like a cheap Sephora. You can even get your nails done! $12 for a manicure. (No pedicures, though.) The main level has mostly food and some other drugstore items, and it's where the checkout registers are. There's a self-serve frozen yogurt area! For real, they have fro-yo! There's also deli sandwiches. etc. It's a lunch spot destination. And the candy aisle is awesome. And again, oh-so-pretty. Downstairs is mostly medicine-type items, some more food, and some electronics. From iPhone cases to Celebrity Apprentice ice cream to a decent beer selection - you'll find it downstairs here.
