One hour left to board train the AL & my sweetheart said "I want small bag plain M&M's" so I got all over it :-)

It's refreshing to find a nice Walgreens anywhere these days but inside Union Station in Washington DC, very nice. There's no pharmacy here but it's clean, well stocked and huge. I've been here several times and the last train trip to Pittsburgh we spent a few hours at Union Station and when my honey said M&M's this made the visit a must :-) It's on two levels and the lower level has both stairs and a wheelchair accessible ramp. Oh, there's a sushi bar inside, I know right :-) It wasn't open on this Sunday and I couldn't get any real info about it but I've read others comments that they line the sushi here. The staff aren't very friendly but they get the job done. Bottom line: They have almost anything you'd expect from any Walgreens anywhere.

8/7/21 the 1 hour photo shop looks like a lost art.

8/18/21 When I was visiting Union Station back on August 7th 2021, I had taken so many photos, I had forgotten to get to some of the places I visited.  While eating my lunch at the Chick Fill-A, I noticed a store called Walgreens.  This store was new to me at this location.  The store looked very new as well. I noticed a security guard standing near the entrance to prevent people from stealing.  Something that obviously has happened at this store; as well, as other places.   Still from what I saw, there are many items to choose from. Especially if you thought you had it all, and then realized you forgot to pack underwear,  toothpaste,  need headache medication  or simply need something like a cellphone charger.   Walgreens will come in handy for what ever you need. These thoughts crossed through my mind for the people traveling to or through Washington DC metropolitan area.   I have taken the train at Union Station and it quite an experience.   I will write about that later on. Thoughts about this store being around when I rode the train would have been nice to have, but that wasn't an option back then. I don't remember what store was here before, but by the way everything was stocked and neatly organized,  I could see this store being a big hit.  People were going in and out of this store. I think this store is here to stay.

    Union Station Walgreens.

This is a larger Walgreens location that carries just about everything one could need from deodorant to toothpaste, makeup, snacks, small grocery items and so on. In addition, there's sushi!

To reiterate another yelper's sentiment: Beth L. states: "It's great to have a place to get a reasonably priced bottle of water or last minute travel sized items, before hoping on the train to head out of town". I deeply agree with her. For years I've travel through Union station and would cringe over the thought of not having water or a snack and having to buy one of the stores expensive items. The store was surprisingly empty even though the entire station is packed. I came in, stood in line for about a minute or two, and off to catch my bus. Union nailed it with this addition.

My child, who has a disability, was using a wheelchair when we entered the store. An employee immediately told him to "get off." I clearly stated that my child has a disability and requires the wheelchair, yet staff continued to argue with me and insisted he could not use it simply because he is a child. It did not stop there. Employees began speaking loudly about us in front of other customers, causing unnecessary attention and embarrassment. My child and I were both humiliated. To make matters worse, we were followed around the store. When I addressed the issue with the manager (Jackson), he repeated the same false claim and dismissed my concerns instead of correcting his staff. This is not just bad customer service this is a serious lack of ADA awareness and basic respect. You do NOT question or deny someone's use of a wheelchair because you "don't think" they need it. No parent should have to defend their child's disability in a grocery store. I expect Giant to address this immediately with proper staff training and accountability. Until then, I would strongly reconsider shopping at this location.

It is a well lit store. Tons of windows. But it is a bit smaller than some 7-Elevens I have been in. That equates to less room and less selection. Don't get that mixed up with not having the essential 7-Eleven items. Just know that you may not be grabbing a familiar item you are used to at other locations. I came in here, for the first time, and went straight to the coolers. I had to stand in front of them, while dodging other customers, to find the items I wanted. Completely different setup so it took me a bit more time to find what I wanted. Then the registers take a bit longer since it is a well used spot. And on the way out, you have to dodge the many people outside to get back to your day.

I told them but they said you have to ask. Most other prices are clearly marked. The store is small and there is an amazon vending box in the middle, often they are right outside or in the parking lot if applicable. The store is already crowded, the amazon box makes it practically claustrophobic. I mostly wanted to give a heads up about the single ice cream bar prices or lack thereof. Also the self serve drink cup sizes were either large or extra large, medium and small seem to be sold out. I don't now what I don't see, but I assume there is small and medium. It is right at Noma metro station.
