a bag of ground flaxseed and a bag of peanut butter
    Kathryn L.

While we were waiting for our Uber to arrive, I decided to run across the street to check out their stock...what a good idea I had. Forget the ETA of my ride, as I was having fun intuitively strolling down each isle. Even though the store front is architecturally compacted, this place was full of everything galore. Now when I say everything, I mean almost anything you can think of relating to fresh.organic food with a grand variety of dry/bulk products, pre-package meals, a deli & even a quaint produce section. Example, one of my favorite items GoodBelly was in stock, but just the basic option, so again, it provides much of an inventory for the limited space, just not the vast variety of one product. I was overly impressed with the health & wellness section, especially the sales they had going on. They offer so many selections of herbs, vitamins, supplements & believe it or not even cosmetics. & for the best part, the confections! Oh for the sweet tooth cravings, the huge selection of candies, nutritional bars, pure chocolate goodies & specialized hard candies. There is a small amount of Vegan candy as well. After my expedited journey, I got my Mahalo & Thumbs Up candy bars, a huge bag of ground Flaxseed (banging sale on the big bag) & some good ol' bottle water. The lady who checked me out was very friendly & knowledgeable about her inventory & was kind enough not to rush me out as they were soon closing. I'm glad I made the hop, skip & a jump across the street, as I really enjoyed dabbling in my favorite type of organic market shopping.

Very nice selection of healthy items. It is a little pricey and difficult to park but otherwise I found everything that I wanted.

Ask the Community - Yes! Organic Market

Do they sell unsalted roasted large cashews in the bulk section?

Yes, we do. Not all stores have the same things, but I know for sure we have them at the Hyattsville location for $12.99 per pound. Did you want to check a particular location?

Can I buy organic chicken here preferably fresh but would consider frozen?

    Yes , you can!

I gave Streets Market a try and it was hanging with the herbs in the produce section. My lemongrass chicken has now become one of my favorite meals to make. My dinner party guests a while ago loved it. Besides being a surprising place to find lemongrass, Streets is well stocked and convenient for almost anything in your kitchen. Your cooking, baking, snacking, and partying needs can all be met here. On the side, the prepared food section even looks good. The alcohol section in the back is quite expansive. Sometimes I like to peak in to see what flavors of Eastcider or canned cocktails they have. It's usually a little different from other stores. The Asian foods section is robust, with a very wide selection of instant noodles and Buldak ramen! Even though items can be a few dollars more here, it's worth giving it a try if you need something that you cannot get to a large grocery store for. Plus, Streets is well spread out through the city. Some are a little bit different than others, like the 14th St. location has a coffee shop and a section for food cooked to order.

I'll cut to the chase (finally), stop smack-talking headshops (though I generally condemn the existence of any that all-too-often adhere to that basic formula listed above, as I believe that those stores which are able to sell "legal highs" but are unable to give any helpful information about their "proprietary" ingredients or warnings or, really, anything helpful that may serve as a means of reducing potential harm) and save you the (likely-long-extinguished) suspense: this shop was a fantastic departure from that headshop bogeyman that inexplicably rests at the forefront of my mind most of the time. The store is tiny but beautifully laid-out, light and airy, and very well-stocked. The employees whom I spoke to, and who were also helping other customers, were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. While obviously you can't be absolutely certain about the contents of any of their products (as they are not FDA-approved, and the store is not a DC-regulated dispensary), I recognized many of the brands sold and feel quite confident that what you see is what you get. It's very obvious by the information volunteered by the employees (including some very beautiful brochures and pamphlets about their shop and their products -- I uploaded a crappy iPhone photo of the front and back of an introductory brochure to CBD that serves as an excellent 101 for any "beginner") and the upkeep of their shop that they take pride in the range, efficacy, utility, and quality of the products that they sell, and with each customer who doesn't quite know yet where to start in the potentially huge -- and therefore often excessively confusing or contradictory -- world that can comprise CBD or kratom or other herbal modalities, it truly seems that the folks working here make a true effort to match customers with the type of item that would best suit their needs. I definitely give five stars and doff my cap to this store -- after failing to renew my medical marijuana card this past year and having lacked the money and time to rectify that, this type of store is an excellent alternative or complement to the regulated DC medical dispensaries. Obviously they legally cannot sell anything containing THC, but that's no problem with me, and it's always good to see a store that theoretically COULD source more "stoner"-centric products and try to get away with it (we've all seen those weird pop-ups in DC from time to time), they make it very clear that they intend to follow the law to the letter. I hope that this shop sticks around for a long time, because it's very impressive -- aesthetically, economically, and by the helpfulness and non-judginess of their staff -- and I always want to support local businesses like that. (To be fair, I believe that they do have another shop in Illinois or something, but even so, it's still a small, independent company that seems to main high standards and ethics in an industry where they could easily get away with selling bunk garbage, with many customers none the wiser. I admire their integrity.)

The moment you walk in, the vibe hits you: mellow lighting, a soothing aroma in the air, and the kind of calm energy that instantly makes you feel like you're exactly where you need to be. You're greeted right away, no awkward waiting or confusion just warmth and professionalism. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, setting the tone for what turned out to be the best dispensary experience of my life. Now let's talk about Brandon and Zayna because they're the heart and soul of this place. These two weren't just friendly; they were encyclopedias of cannabis knowledge wrapped in genuinely good energy. Brandon walked me through their top strains with the ease and passion of someone who truly loves the craft, breaking down terpene profiles, effects, and even the grower history of some of their stock. Zayna jumped in with recs based on what I was into and offered some truly insightful advice about edibles and hybrids that would suit my needs and honestly, she nailed every one of them. They hooked me up with a very generous haul (let's just say there was definitely some love added in), and every product was fire. Not only that, they went above and beyond, offering up amazing suggestions for food, bars, and things to do around DC like having two chill local guides rolled into one stellar cannabis experience. It's rare to walk into a place and feel instantly like you're in good hands but this spot does exactly that. It's not just a transaction here. It's a whole vibe, a moment, an elevated experience from start to finish. If you're looking for high quality flower, unmatched customer service, and the kind of personal touch that turns a purchase into a memory you found your spot.
