This Walgreens is in walking distance to UT, so a lot of college students come here to grab a toothbrush, etc. There are some homeless people who hang out outside due to its close location to downtown Tampa. I cannot believe I continue to shop at this pharmacy! This is absolutely the last time for me. I had a prescription faxed to them Wednesday 9/22/21, they had a question about the dosage, and I went back to my doc twice to be sure they sent the correct instructions. It is now 9/27/21, and the only reason I just got my prescription filled tonite at 9:45PM is that I continually hounded them, called them today several times, and when I went to the drive thru at 9:15PM to pick up the prescription which I was told would be ready at 6:00PM....I waited outside in the drive thru, and the clerk intentionally made me wait like 30 minutes because I raised my voice to her in my frustration. The coworkers are miserable and hate their job and I am so thankful for health care workers during these tough times but if they could go without wearing a mask they'd spit in your face. I like this Walgreens much better than the one I frequent. It was ultra clean and had a good selection. I think they just had a customer service seminar. I was welcomed by each sales associate I passed, to the corner of happy and well street or whatever their motto is, almost to the point of ad nauseum. On two occasions they ,Walgreen's ,sent me notices that my scripts are ready, only to travel there and have them tell me they haven't been re-ordered. I am a type one diabetic who needs insulin to survive. I tried to refill my prescription over the phone 6 different times. Each time they would answer the phone and hang up after about 30 minutes on hold. My doctors called, I called, my family even tried calling. Each left with the same response I was. I figured they were busy so I drove to the store to wait in line. There was nobody in line and nobody was on the phone. This is completely unacceptable as many people need prescriptions to survive and this is how they treat them. I can't even explain how disappointed I am. This almost feels criminal. To be so negligent is absurd. If anything were to happen to me waiting for this insulin the only people responsible would be this pharmacy staff. This is possible the worst Walgreens I have ever been too! Each time I go in to pick up photos, it seems like it's more of an issue for them! After hitting the button and waiting for over 10 mins I patiently waited in the cashiers line to let the cashier know I wanted to pick up some pictures. The cashier told me he doesn't understand why the manager was not coming out to help and that he couldn't leave because there was a line and he needed to help those customers. Last time I checked I'm a customer as well in need of a service. I kindly explained to him my husband and newborn baby was waiting in car and didn't think it was going to take this long for me to grab some pictures. He told it wasn't his problem. He finally did help me but then complained about the manager and yelled me for taking him away from the register. The customers behind me had no issues with him helping me so I'm unsure where all the angry came from. I called to talk to the manager and told the manager what had happened and she basically hung on up after asking me if that was all I needed. I don't understand how being rude is acceptable. I will reporting this store to Walgreens hopefully they will correct this store and teach them how to respectful to others. Its a Walgreens like any other Walgreens. Good selection of stuff, what can you say. It does get a lot of really wierd customers though and I'm not sure the staff knows how to handle them. This one time I was in line and a woman stood at the register and casually leafed through the sale circular. After 5 minutes and the line getting longer by the second, I finally said something like perhaps she could step away and do that and then go back to the register when she was ready. Now apparently when you say rational things to crazy people, it doesn't go over well and she kind of freaked out. Anyway, my point was that the employee should have handled it so that the other customers didn't have to stand there waiting while this one woman held everything up. Quite possibly the worst pharmacy in America. This is the 5th time this month they have filled my prescription wrong. They also charged me double the price! A good size Walgreens store for this location. The employees are very helpful, was asked many times if I needed help. First time in the store, not a very large assortment or variety of items. Even with the holiday seasonal items very small amounts. However, the enthusiast some of the employees and eagerness to please,. Really made a difference, and conveniently located by Publix on Bayshore. And by two major banks. I would also like to add, very good specials on some items but no the price of the things you tend to buy the most. Some items are surprisingly low in cost, othersare pretty up there when it comes to saving $. In spite of all this. I will continue to shop here. I hate to say it though, mostly when I am not able to travel further from where I live. They are open 24 hours, that is a big plus. This is not the pharmacy that I use for my meds. But, I used him due to insurance about three years ago on the East Coast of Florida. And they were very good, unfortunately. In the last six years or so, they seem to have less employees at the pharmacy and double the amount of customers. In my opinion from what it seems by appearances. Is that the pharmacy department looks rather stressed out. I hope Corp. is paying attention.Realizes that in the monopoly world that we live in, I would say... Wow if you have the slightest urgency for medication DO NOT COME HERE. You will probably die from their careless mistakes. I don't know if these workers actually know what they are doing but I had an incident where the woman straight up lied to my face. First she told me that the medication I have been getting for 3 years now is not available anymore,then she told me they don't have it in Florida( because I'm originally from New Jersey) which is false because my sister still gets that's same medication in Florida,then they gave me ANOTHER FEMALES MEDICATION. In a moment of desperation I contacted Walgreens on Platt Street and asked 1 simple, little question of the pharma tech. "Do you have delivery service for prescriptions?" She didn't know so connected me to the main line where I proceeded to wait for 30 minutes. We are from the Orlando area and were staying at Tampa General Hospital overnight. We didn't have my son's medication with us. We asked Walgreens if they could get us an emergency supply for a couple of days. This pharmacy went above and beyond for us. They called the insurance company to get it approved and even traveled to another Walgreens to pick up the medication that wasn't in stock. We appreciate all they did.
