On 10/03/26 at 3:30pm for "Everyday makeup application" that was a 45min appointment. I made this reservation one week prior (09/26/26) I arrived at 320pm and checked into the back salon area where Maryam was doing someone's hair. She told me "I just need to blow dry her hair and I'll be done" (THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR LATER) I waited and by 4:15pm I saw Maryam finished blow drying the girls hair. She then brought out a curly iron and plugged it in. I stood up and let her know that I would be canceling the appointment because I had an event at 6pm and I booked the appointment for 330pm and it's already 15min past my appointment and I cannot wait for her to curl that girls hair. (Side Note: This girl had beautiful extremely long hair that past down her backside) . Maryam then walked over to another worker (who was working on someone) and asked her if she could do my makeup. The other worker shook her head no. I went up to speak to the manager and let her know that I made it a point to be on time for the appointment and I understood that things run late, yet Maryam should have been transparent with me when I arrived and let me know that she still needed to finish, drying her hair and styling it and given me the correct estimated time of her finishing. Instead, Maryam had me sit there for 15 minutes and waste my time. I could have gone home and done my own make up and started planning ahead. Yet, she decided to not be honest. Which completely threw off the rest of my tight schedule. The manager just said she was sorry and she would let the GM know. And that someone would contact me about this issue. Today is 10/08/26, and I have not received any email or call from them. My tip to Ulta is to tell your staff to be honest with a customers. Honesty and integrity goes a long way. I told them I would rather wait 15 minutes at Target than drive across town, wait in another line, and then come back to Target, but I shouldn't have had to tell them that. There was a woman behind the counter whose job it seemed to be to expedite things, but actually she was just rude and unhelpful and cutting people off to move things along. You know what doesn't make things faster? Doing them twice. The young man who had told me to go to the other store saw how flustered I was after I told him how rude and unhelpful they were all being. After that, he helped me get my prescription changed and get checked out and was quite nice. The overall experience there is stressful and hectic, and even more so if you are tired and in pain. Not only that, but this was after waiting for a medication for an unspecified amount of time because they didn't have it and couldn't tell me when they could get it. When I started to explain that I got in line because one self-checkout was broken and the other was being used, she interrupted and dismissed me with a wave of her hand, berating me (again) for bringing her a pair of sunglasses (the only pair that fit me!) which had a barcode that wasn't working in her scanner. All this time, she's criticizing a young kid who's working behind her. She refused to help me, refused to let me explain why I couldn't simply bring up a different item which might have a different price. I don't work at CVS. I don't know what to look for.
