On Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 @ 3:46 PM I visited this Walgreen's to pick up a product. I then went to the checkout line and patiently waited for the cashier to finish with another customer. As I waited in line, a couple entered the store just as the customer in front of me left the register. The couple immediately walked straight to the register without standing in line. The female looked at me and then her boyfriend multiple times recognizing that they had cut in front of me. The cashier, Jonathan, never paid any attention to the fact that he already had another customer waiting in line. Jonathan proceeded to take care of the couple before me! After he had completed their transaction, I approached the register and asked if there was a manager I could speak with. Jonathan said, 'yes' and asked why? I let him know that I was already waiting in line before the couple came into the store as he was helping the male customer before me. Instead of apologizing, Jonathan, explained that he was helping the couple who he thought was there before me. Frustrated and perturbed at Jonathan's deplorable customer service, especially since I am a business owner, I again had to express that I was there BEFORE the couple ever came into the store. This is exactly what Jonathan said to me,' Oh well we'll have to look at the cameras!?' I couldn't believe a stranger that I didn't know and who didn't know me had just accused Walgreen's customer of being a liar! I was livid! At that point, the manager, Ryan, approached me and I explained the situation to him, what his employee, Jonathan, had said to me, and how deplorable his customer service was. I further expressed to the manager, Ryan, that the only reason Jonathan behaved as he did, and accused Walgreen's customer of being a liar is only based on the fact that I was African American. Jonathan obviously have preconceived prejudices regarding certain racial groups and is not professional or trained well enough to leave his racist opinions at the door once he walk through them. I will again do a follow up with Walgreen's Corporate as that kind of behavior is simply unacceptable. I will NEVER take my business to this Walgreen's where employee's obviously feel embolden to treat Walgreen's minority customers with such distain and unprofessionalism let alone valueless! read more

I have had to go down to this walgreens several times to find my prescriptions. They re suppose to be on auto refill. I just spoke to someone over the phone she was rude and gave me a hard time. Never answered my question why they weren't auto refilling. A sorry would be nice, but people like her don't make mistakes. read more

It's not in the best area of town, but still this is easily the worst Walgreen's I've ever been in. The floor itself was clean and all, but my advice is not to use the restroom at all. First off you need an employee to push in the code to let you in, and then when you get inside.....on my lord! The smell is an atrocity! The cleanliness is non existent and I was ill five minutes after leaving. My mom used the ladies room as well and said the exact same thing too. read more

This review is specifically about the Take Care Clinic and its supposed services, which are pretty bad. Keep in mind that these clinics are healthcare facilities, not the food prep area of a KFC. I noticed there was a lot of dust and grime on all the white surfaces. An employee was checking me in on a touchscreen. He was turning the screen and squinting and turning his head, but I realized when looking at it that the problem was it was covered with grime and fingerprints. There is a check-in touchscreen available that I did not get near, as you understand, sick people and public touch screens and all - probably not the best idea. I was there to have some labs drawn. It was my 2nd visit. During the previous visit, even though I scheduled my appointment in advance online, they somehow either lost it or ignored it. When I had waited too long and asked what the deal was, an employee told me that the internet appointment service "isn't supposed to be working yet." So I had to reschedule. These labs are done by Theranos. Theranos is supposed to be this new big deal in lab services, because they're cheaper, you're supposed to get your results sent to you directly, and they only need to draw a small amount of blood, just a fraction of a cc to do a dozen or more lab tests. None of this is true. (I tried to obtain information on Theranos before going to the Take Care Clinic, but (a) Walgreens employees knew nothing about it; (b) One person was able to scare up a single marketing pamphlet on the services - in Spanish. Calling Theranos was no more helpful.) Prices were about the same as my insurance rates (but my insurance doesn't contract with Theranos), they don't send you your results (you have to get them from your doc), and they did my 3-vial blood draw with standard venipuncture to the inside of my elbow. The phlebotomist was the only pleasant thing about my experience, as he was friendly, professional, and competent. His phlebotomy room also needed a wipe-down. The tests required a urine sample as well, so I was led to the other corner of the store with a bag with my equipment. The phlebotomist had to let me into the bathroom. There was nowhere to set down the urine gear. No table, bench. The narrow sides of the sink were dirty. The bathroom was pretty dirty with dirt on the sink and dried urine on the toilet. I did my best to avoid contaminating my specimen. When returning to the phlebotomy room, I became a bit confused. There is this wall of frosted glass (see the pics at the top of these reviews). The phleb told me to return to his room, but which frosted wall was it located behind? I briefly searched for the right door, taking a right when I should have taken a left. At this junction I encountered an unpleasant nurse practitioner male who immediately ordered me, hall-monitor-style, to get in line like everybody else. For a moment I considered defending myself, then realized that responding to such rudeness was a waste of time. Walgreens employs CSRs in India to handle your billing and other information. This means your sensitive medical, financial and insurance information is processed out of the country. I don't see how Walgreens' filthy stores, rude service and overseas subcontractors help the quality of healthcare in the U.S. I'd say that Take Care Clinics are a huge step backwards. read more

Don't expect to find anything you want to purchase with coupons here, there is a serious extreme couponer who hits this store and gets all the goods! Very irritating! Other than that, employees are very nice and the store is well kept. read more

I had prescriptions sent over from NextCare since this was the only 24 hour pharmacy open nearby. It was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had at a drugstore. The staff were disorganizedd and had no idea what was going on. The wait time for my prescription was super long (and for what?? They were doing NOTHING). I attempted to call and see if my order was ready, but was on hold for 23 minutes before eventually hanging up and just driving over. After coming back several hours later, I pull through the pharmacy drive through and proceed to wait there for 10 minutes (yes I rang the doorbell). Someone finally approaches the window and gets my order. He confusedly stands there in silence for several minutes before telling me to drive around and then it will be ready. Ummm okay? So I circle the building and come back around and wait YET AGAIN for someone to get my prescriptioons. I am in hysteric tears at this point, as I am in pain--physically and emotionally. A different person comes to the window and eventually reviews my order and gives me my medications. BUT MY GOD. I will never be going back to this particular Walgreens (3605 E Thomas Rd) ever again. You couldn't pay me. I would rather saw off my own leg then be tormented by the strange individuals at the establishment. I took my 86 year old mother to the Walgreens on 36th St and Thomas last week as our regular store in Scottsdale couldn't fill our prescription so we were asked to go to this Phoenix location to get her medication. As we entered the store and were getting a shopping cart for my mom to use as her walker, the young man behind the check out counter told me that he needed to put my mom's backpack behind the counter. I held up my mom's handbag and told him it was a Prada handbag, not a backpack. He then told me we still needed to put it behind the counter I told him that I wasn't going to do that as I didn't know him and we've never been asked to do that in any Walgreens we've ever been in ( which is plenty folks ! ). At this point he told me it was store policy . Nonsense ! I then turned around and saw two women in the store and both of them had handbags as big as my mom's bag. I told this young man that when he asked both of those women to give him their handbags as well to put behind the counter that I might consider giving him my mom's as well but until then the answer was no. He said nothing and then I told him we were going to the back of the store to the pharmacy to get my mom's medication. We went to the pharmacy and there were two female customers in line both with large handbags as well. I asked them if anyone had asked them to put them behind the counter and they both said no. At this point I asked to speak to a manager. The manager appeared and I showed him my mom's handbag and pointed a the two customers standing there with their large handbags and asked him why my mom was asked for her bag and they weren't. He just looked at us and said he was going to speak to the young man at the check out counter. We got our prescription and exited the store and I noticed the young man was no longer behind the counter but the manager had now taken his place. We then went back to the Scottsdale Walgreens and I went inside and asked the young lady at the counter if there was anything about my mom or her handbag that concerned her and she said no. We then wet to the pharmacy dept and told our regular guy what had happened. He was shocked and said that should never have happened. I then spoke with the Phoenix area district manager the next day. He was very nice and told me that is it NOT their store policy to ask customers for their backpacks or handbags . I then told him that in that case there are only two possible reasons for what happened. Either this young kid was misinformed by one of his superiors at that store location regarding store policy, or else this kid is up to something. I also want to mention that my mother and I are both Caucasian, and that everyone we encountered at the 36th St and Thomas location, was latin. I'd sure hate to think that we were singled out because of our skin color but who knows why? I told the regional manager that if they are having a shoplifting problem at that particular location that they should find a better solution to this problem rather than offending longtime customers when they walk in the store. read more

They are very good, except they take very long when the Dr sends an email for refills...my dad has epilepsy so he can't go very long without his medication and it's frustrating when we can't get his medication on time. read more

You know I usually avoid thinking of writing a review on something like a drugstore. I figure; "feel bad plus long wait equals crabby Mary". Walgreens is Walgreens, right? However, I stopped at this location on the way home from the clinic not in my hood. I wish I lived closer and could make this my new Walgreens. The folks in the pharmacy were so extra nice to me. I am very grateful! Nice enough for me to give them a shout out on Yelp. I really appreciated it. Also, they filled my script in ten minutes. WHAT????????????? lol! That is so awesome! Was here today to buy Advil for a throbbing headache...I think I got when I was at Walmart...In any event, this place was clean, the girl that said "Welcome to Walgreen's" with a big smile on her face that rang up my only purchase, made my whole day...it was a bad day...I want to say her name as Gini...but it evades me at the moment. I joked with her that she should only have to say it to every third person that walks in, and she said it wouldn't be fair if she said it to some people and not everyone...pretty valid point...she was my one ray of sunshine in what I can call a pretty bad day...everyone seemed helpful thou when I was there, my trip was pretty quick...and I was actually quite surprised at how organized this place was, it has been quite a while since I had been here. The customer service in the 36th Street and Thomas location is non-existent. The employees, with the exception of the security guard, lack integrity and accountability. I placed a same day order for a wall calendar and received a notification via email that the project would be ready by 6:05 PM however when I arrived just before 7:00 PM, the project was not completed. It took quite a while, only after I asked one of the cashiers, for someone to attend to me or at the very least acknowledge me (i.e. we will be right with you, apologies for the delay). The next day, I called store to check on the status, was placed on hold for 10 minutes only for Marcy to end the call without providing an update on the order. I checked online and still receive the "creating order" status. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of service I received in person and over the phone and would advise others to avoid this Walgreens location / branch. read more

I wandered in here this evening without a prescription looking for relief for my sore throat. I walked towards the pharmacy and asked the smiling gentleman behind the counter for a recommendation. He immediately went to go get the pharmacist for me. There was a petite woman with platinum blonde hair (I'm sad to say that I didn't grab her name) that went out of her way to help me find what I needed. She seemed busy but listened to me as I explained to her my symptoms. She even left her counter to come out and help me find the perfect product for my symptoms. Such a nice lady!!! I'm grateful. Also, there's a really friendly tall black guy ringing at the register closest to the door, usually in the evening. The customer service at this location is absolutely wonderful, I'd rather come here than the one closer to my home! Thank you Walgreens 36th st and Thomas. read more

One thing that has always irritated me about people in any position of "authority" is when they make it a point to "throw their weight around" & somehow get to a place where their inflated ego causes them to believe that they cannot be replaced. Unfortunately this location suffers from this type of disease, as I learned early this morning. There was an "over-the-counter" healthcare item that I needed to purchase & I called in to confirm that it was in stock (nobody wants to drive all the way to a Walgreens at 4AM just to find out that the item they need is sold out). Once I confirmed that they had it in stock, I headed to this store. Upon my arrival, I went to the aisle that the item is normally stocked in & none were left. This was puzzling as I called in to the pharmacy beforehand & confirmed that it was in stock. At this point I went to the pharmacy & came upon a woman standing at the counter with this huge stack of papers in front of her. There was ONE guy working behind the counter (all by himself) & as I looked behind him I noticed an additional stock of the item I needed to purchase (which oddly had not been re-stocked on the normal store shelves). Rather than be rude & interrupt the transaction, I decided to wait. Well one minute turned in to 5, 5 turned into 10 & in consideration of the neighborhood & the fact that there's weird/seedy people floating around outside at these hours, I didn't want to be in there all day waiting for this woman to get done. At this point, I went up front in hopes of asking the cashier to assist me in grabbing the "over-the-counter" item from behind the counter so that I can purchase it up front while the gentleman behind the pharmacy counter finished his transaction: Nobody was behind the front register once I got there & the guy who eventually walked back there looked nowhere close to being an employee judging by his wardrobe (I saw no name badge & no Walgreens apparel). He was just floating around the front part of the store, stopping to stand almost like the was lost in a daze... While I found this somewhat strange, I looked past it & asked if he could assist me in getting my OVER-THE-COUNTER item as I was on a tight schedule & the guy behind the pharmacy counter was tied up. He calls a "manager" over the speaker & a couple minutes later this "manager" walks up front. The employee tells him whats going on & the "manager" tells me that the guy behind the pharmacy counter can help me. I proceed to tell him that he's helping another customer with a lengthy transaction & i'm on a tight schedule. He then stated that he couldn't help me with anything behind the pharmacy (which I think was simply his way of saying that he just didn't feel like walking back there)... I re-advised him that the item in question was OVER THE COUNTER but they simply had the remaining stock behind the pharmacy counter (for whatever dumb reason) & the ONE guy working behind the pharmacy counter was in the middle of a lengthy transaction. The "manager" continued to be difficult, refusing to walk the few paces that would be required to get behind the pharmacy counter & grab this small little item that should have been re-stocked on the NORMAL store shelves (had somebody actually been doing their job). It was almost as if he was Hell-bent on being a complete d-bag today. Rather than do what I wanted to do (aka- punch him in his mouth for being such a d-bag), I said "ok", gave him that "I should really punch you in your mouth" look & walked back to the pharmacy counter only to see an empty register. 5-10 minutes later the gentleman behind the pharmacy counter re-appears from somewhere in the back & I checked out. In the end, I came in an EMPTY store yet waited about 20 minutes just to get an OVER THE COUNTER ITEM that likely would have taken me less than TWO MINUTES to purchase had the store simply re-stocked the item over the counter. My question is this: How difficult would it be for you to walk your lazy self back behind the pharmacy counter (while your ONLY pharmacy employee is clearly tied up with another transaction) & grab an item in order to help a customer who has clearly stressed the fact that he is on a tight schedule? Doing so would be good customer service, any idiot knows that, & if your ego is that big where you are unwilling to go above & beyond for the customer then you don't need to be in a "management" position because you're definitely not made for it... Why am I so upset? The way I see it, i'm paying you to be an a-hole & I have a SERIOUS problem with that, as should anyone who has been a customer at Walgreens for as long as I have (aka- all their life, ever since you were in diapers)... I don't know his name & honestly don't care what it is, but prayerfully they replace him because he's obnoxious, he clearly knows nothing about good customer service & his unwillingness to assist the customer with something so basic makes a very poor reflection on the entire Walgreens brand. read more

I took my 5 year old in to get a blood draw. This was the location in Phoenix, AZ at Thomas Rd & 36 St. He was fasting and scared but had to wait an extra 15 minutes because the tech was late. She showed up but left again to heat up her breakfast. I should have walked out right then. The person taking the blood had zero knowledge about dealing with a child and is telling the tech right in front of him that she's really going to have to hold him down so he can get that needle in or it's really going to hurt. He dug around in my child's vein for about 5 minutes. Eventually he got some blood up the tube but nothing that was usable. He could not have cared less and said well maybe come back tomorrow or go somewhere else. Now my child is traumatized with a bruised and very sore arm all for nothing. This was beyond horrible!!! read more

Do not order photos here. It's my 3rd time here tonight. 1st time for pick up, photos for lost and I had to wait to have them reprinted. 2nd time back was because they didn't include the envelopes that were supposed to come with it. Now I'm here because I looked at the same photos I printed only 5 days ago and they were significantly brighter than the ones I took home today. Plus the ones I took home today had a blue crinkly film on them that looked like a paint sponge was lightly pressed on it. I asked for the manager on my 3rd visit and he acted like I was a total waste of time. Glad to know the manager told the photo tech to give me reprints at no charge, although I would hope that would happen no matter what. I have not been rude, a little irritated I will admit (writing wedding thank you's is night exactly a fun time). My advice, go to the Walgreens closer to Scottsdale on Thomas. Infinitely better and the clientele is cleaner. I would offer no stars is possible. read more

Healthcare clinic organization is terrible. It's been decent in the past, was terrible today. Appointments were full so I decided to just walk in. Only 1 care provider and 5 other people ahead of me. Almost 2 hours pass, so I buy a few items and take them out to my car. Come back in and find my name no longer on the wait list. I wait longer until the care provider comes out (apparently only one person to run an entire clinic back there). She tells me she called me then moved on and I'd have to go back to the end of the line which she estimates to be another 2 hours. Ridiculous. I understand she's busy, but to bump me like that, not call me, and not give me priority like I've seen done there before is not cool. Probably just store policy, but I won't go back. I went down the street to CVS, was seen in 5min (lucky it was slow), but diagnosed in 10min, and had my prescription in another 5min. And very friendly pretty nurse! The computer sign in there at least had the option of texting you when you are 30min away from your appointment. Ideal!! read more
