If I could give it 4 1/2 stars, I would. I wouldn't say Whooohooo or a-ok but it is somewhere in between, at least there is a store down the street from my sister's place. So sad to see the old Safeway go, kinda strange to see another store in its place. But it works. And they have excellent prices, good stock. It is nicely laid out, good variety of stuff, snacks, cheap gifts, etc. Affordable Walgreens brands do the trick when you have a headache or are sick. It does its purpose and the line moves pretty fast if you go there mid-day, no one else around. I love this location the best because it has a good size parking lot. read more

Don't bother using their photo center! My mom created a photo album as a friend's gift and although she opted for the same day pickup, she was told that the photo book will be ready the next day. On top of that, when she went to pick it up at her designated pick up time which was in the morning, she was told that it wasn't ready yet and she'll get a call once it is. When she finally did get the call after almost the whole day, the employees told her that the machine was broken and that she will have to reorder her photo book at another location. She is deeply disappointed that she couldn't get her gift ready for her friend, who was super excited to receive her retirement gift. Recommend that you use another place for photo inquiries or at least another location!! read more

I gotta say this Walgreens is pretty convenient when you need to grab and dash. Parking is plentiful so you can be in and out there and everything is easy to find. I appreciate that the aisles are more spacious than the one on Keeaumoku. I appreciate The Red Box in this location as well. (SOOO easy to rent from here!) Prices are market rate to what's out there, however I noticed the items I usually buy are a tad more expensive at Walgreens. BUT, I'm not gonna drag myself into a busy and hard to park WalMart for 5-10 cent price variable on one item. Convenience has a price and I gladly pay for it here. Cheers Walgreens! read more

Seem like this store is the nicest Walgreen store. Im not talking about the size but the way they arrange product and shelves look really nice, clean and brighten up the whole store. This Walgreen store reminded me of Walgreen stores in mainland. Just one sad thing, the store seem pretty empty most the time whenever I was there. read more

This store takes great pride in presentation. The items on the shelves are neatly stacked. And they are quite organized. Their shelves are pretty tall so they carry a lot of things in a not so quite huge store. I came here to return an item that did not work and they did not give me a hard time about. They gave me a refund without a fuss. What you'll notice when you walk in is that the cash registers are all connected via a long counter much like at Best Buy. It does make for a better line and looks less chaotic but some people might prefer the old grocery style checkout line. For one thing this type of formation does not lend itself well to carts. Baskets are okay though but I prefer carts over baskets and so this type of set up does not work well for me. The prices here are comparable to Long's but I prefer Long's inventory and sale. I like the Long's weekly ads and booklets. Most of all, I think Long's has better prices overall. read more

new Walgreens in Honolulu! open 24 hours with lots of parking and it's next to PetCo. i picked up my prescription (that i ordered online) and got a flu shot. they're still figuring out everything here, so it takes a little while, but the pharmacists were very friendly and nice and helpful. the flu shot was administered in a little glass doored room (for privacy). there's a few seats for your companions to wait for you, too. not very crowded here yet, so it's convenient and the shelves are stocked (unlike a few Longs i've been too that have lots of empty space on their shelves). oh and they have some sushi too. my mom liked it. they have a drive thru pharmacy but i haven't tried that yet. maybe next time. read more

I went in and asked for an item at 5:15pm... On a Sunday... The girl in the beauty isle was doing a "floor set" so none of the items would be available in that area she was working on until tomm. Now coming from customer service I would have thought she would have asked what item I was looking for... Nope! I had to ask her for the item. She looked down and inside a box and she says, "it's somewhere in the box so it will be out by tomorrow" WTF?! When doing a floor set you will still willingly help a customer. You will continue to lose customers if you can't even give customer service much less try. Whoever the manager of this location needs to really work with their employees... Floor sets don't make you money. Customer service always will. Word to the wise, DONT GO TO THIS WALGREENS. read more

Do not place order things online for store pick-up. I placed order online and it said in 30mins the most I should be able to pick-up curbside. But almost 2 hours later, they texted me that the things I ordered on-line, are not available. And they canceled my order and said the whole amount they charged my credit card will stay in pending on my credit card account for 7 days. This is technically illegal. Having moved here from the mainland, I was happy when Walgreens opened up here, as that is where I went as a kid growing up. I primarily like the Walgreens pharmacy. They make it easy with things like their mobile application and their drive up pharmacy window (at the Beretania location). The mobile app is awesome because you can refill your script simply by scanning the bar code on the bottle. Also, you can set up text / email alerts to let you know that your prescription is ready. You can even set your account so that you are alerted when your prescription is ready for a refill. Makes my life easier, so I like that! Also, besides the pharmacy, the member rewards card is free and really worth the minor effort of scanning it / inputting your phone number when you check out-- the points add up to actually dollar awards that can be applied at check out. The last time I went shopping there, I got $5 off for being a loyal patron. I'll take it! read more

This was the old Safeway but cut in half (other half is Petco). Good stuff, well stocked, and lots of space. Prices are not par with Walmart (cheaper) but you can find good deals. I would say similar prices to Longs and Times Market. Clean and well organized (not like the old Dillingham kmart). I would like to thank Grace for setting me up with a Walgreens card. As I was shopping, I noticed a lot of the good deals and prices were for Walgreens card holders. Grace even let me use my new card to get points with my purchase. Good Customer Service ! read more

The prescriptions take 2 hours minimum and most times not all the pills are ready and we have to come back days later, just now they said 10 minutes, I come back and they say "10 more minutes" I've been here for 40 minutes already for one bottle of pills. Took over a day and a half to fill a real common prescription. Given the nature of the prescription and the associated diagnosis I hoped for a sense of urgency. If you are going to take more than a day to fill, perhaps let the customer know in advance so they can make other arrangements if they desire. Plenty of pharmacies otherwise. read more

This is an update to the previous experience I've had, Lyn the pharmacy tech is amazing and always willing to help and kind. I really appreciate that. To the store manager Dan, you really have no customer service ability, it's is beyond me how you even got the job in the first place. First of all, I understand your store may be short-staffed, but when I come in with a paper prescription needing it to be filled please do not tell me you don't know if you have it without even checking, secondly don't try to get me to go away and come back by saying "it will be at least 45min to an hour" your dismissive attitude is atrocious and I'm in awe as to how you got the "store manager" title. Third, please have an ounce of compassion; when people come in to get medicine it is not to make your life harder. It is because they need it for health reasons and sometimes it may even be a dire situation. I will be submitting a letter of grievance the headquarters division about my experiences (now the second time ) having to subject to your incompetence. read more

Usually I go to Walgreens on North School street but I needed pictures printed by that night and unfortunately that Walgreens didn't have that pick-up option for me. Walgreens.com has this convenient feature where they text you AND email you when your pictures are ready. When you're done uploading pics on the website and complete your order, they give you that option and I always choose it. They list times that are available for you to pick up your order by and this time it was either 8:45pm or after 12am. Of course I chose 8:45pm. It turned 8:45pm. No text. No e-mail. Nothing. So I called them to see if it was available. Explained my situation to the girl who answered, gave her my name, how much pictures I ordered, my confirmation number and then she said "let me check" - put me on hold for about 5 minutes just to redirect me to some guy who hung up on me. Called back, same girl answered the phone, told her that someone hung up on me - then she redirected my call again without even letting me know that she was gonna do that *eyeroll ~ I am already annoyed and it's already 9:30pm. Another guy (not the same one from earlier) answers the phone with no idea about what I'm calling about! Explained to him again, spelt my last name about 4 different times (its not that hard, really...) just for him to get my first name wrong and to tell me that they're ALMOST done with my order. Maybe I'm being hard on them? Maybe I'm not? But who, on a wednesday night, besides me, prints pictures? Oh & what makes it even more annoying, I placed my order at 5:30pm. MORE than enough time to get it done. I'm sure it's not that hard. You need to be a member to get the sales price - Here it just takes a minute - I'm not interested I said - He says "It's just like Safeway" I understand that I say but I don't want to sign up for another card - don't you just have a generic one to swipe for me? Drove here one night recently to pick up some things and two drunk vagrants on bicycles started screaming at me from the front of my car, "daring" me to "get out" followed by a familiar epithet for, um, my "kind". Employees could see us just sitting in the car but wouldn't call the authorities, come out to help us get into the store to actually shop, or even make eye contact with us (even though all of the customers inside did). Right next door to Petco. Not a very convenient place to be located at especially If you go Petco and bring your dogs, since dogs aren't even allowed to enter the store. You would have to leave your dogs in the car while you rush in the store so your dogs don't overheat in the car. The store is clean and spacious. Pharmacist is very helpful and nice. read more

So Im in a rush to get dog food and Petco next door doesnt have the brand I want. I walk into Walgreen and they have it but its way more expensive than what I normally pay. Walgreens is ok as a store but I never shop here. Why do I gotta join a club to get a discount card. Just give me good prices from the jump! I bought it and paid but remembered why I hardly come. Selection is small. Layout is somewhat claustraphobic and disorganized. The staff was somewhat slow with transactions. I probably wont be back but thats just personal preference. Kirby, the pharmacy manager was very professional, knowledgeable and personable. My husband and I went in for our Hep A shots and he was more than willing to explain the process, side effects etc. without making us feel like we were wasting his time. Since everyone is in a mad rush to get vaccinated I expected him to be more robotic and irritated about the public rush but he wasn't. He made us feel comfortable and at ease. We actually brought in a fax of our prescription from our Doctor which he says he couldn't use (they need original) so he went above and beyond to call our Doctor and obtain a verbal confirmation. I liked the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and am seriously thinking of switching from my usual Longs to Walgreens. read more
