I had been to 3 different Walgreens trying to get my passport photo taken. The first place I went to said their camera was broken. The second place said the person who works the camera was on lunch. The third place was very confussing, I asked a lady and she said she didn't know and walked away. Someone else said that they don't know where the person who works in the photo department is. So I called this place before I wasted my time. The lady who answered the phone was just very rude. I asked if their camera was working and if I was able to take my passport photo. The lasy said, "yea" but I was not sure if she said yeah or nah. So I asked, "Was that a yes or a no?" Her responce with attitude still was, "YES it is working" That's why I knocked down one star. The guy who took my picture was really nice and within minutes it was all done. No more then 5 minutes it was all over. 4 stars to the guy, sorry I didn't get your name who took my passport photo. read more

Very disappointing experience with the woman pharmacist with short hair on July 27. My dog had suddenly started having seizures, and my veterinarian gave me a hard-copy prescription for a controlled medication because they couldn't dispense it or call it in. As soon as I handed it to the pharmacist, her first response was, "It's Monday. I'm very busy." She seemed visibly annoyed that I had brought in a paper prescription. She then said, "I have prescriptions to fill and I'm giving vaccines, so it's going to be at least 24 hours." When I asked if there was any chance it could be filled sooner because it was an emergency, she showed absolutely no empathy. She also said, "I have to call your veterinarian because the name on the prescription doesn't match the doctor who signed it." I transferred the prescription to the CVS inside Target on Hesperian Boulevard. They simply said, "No problem," accepted the same veterinary prescription without questioning it, and had it filled in about 30 minutes. The delay wasn't the problem. It was the lack of compassion, the rude attitude, and the completely different experience I had at another pharmacy with the exact same prescription. read more

I would rank my experience as very very exceptional. Our cashier, Ahmena, was very happy to scan our items. There were only 2 employees working the store when I visited. I needed a passport photo & the senior Indian employee told me that it would take 30 mins. She & the new employee rang up the few customers, that were in the store. The senior lady then proceeded to just do minor tasks & other stuff rather then take the picture & let the machine process it while doing her tasks. This employee seems to be the new low standard of having a job they don't care about, letting customers sit around and not help customers that know what they need and have a simple request. It's a good thing Walgreens is shutting down so many of their stores. With any luck this one will be next on their list & let paying customers use Amazon instead. read more

Come to this location if you are in desperate need of something in the store. The staff was kind and helpful; they get 5 stars the environment and selection of products is why I give 2 stars. Just going to and from your car to get into the store you will be harassed about 5 times for money, and I'm not exaggerating. I can understand everything being locked and having to ask for assistance to get specific items, but the store needs to be staffed in a way to provide that assistance. I need to get just a few things that happened to be locked up. I pressed the button for assistance. It made a store announcement to foe the request. Waited several minutes and noone showed up. Tried again and no luck. I asked a cashier and she paged someone to go to the aisle with a key. But again noone ever came. I had to leave and go to a competitor for the items I needed. I put this squarely on the management of the store and Walgreens corporation for not running their business in a way that meets the needs if its customers. You need to hire people who know the store and its products and locations and can quickly assist especially when items have to be secured from potential shop lifters. As I have heard Walgreens, once a powerhouse in the pharmacy space, has significantly declined recently and maybe this lack of service is a leading indicator of that decline. To save itself from a downward spiral it will have to do more in terms of customer service beyond just having someone at a cash register waiting to take your money. I had the BEST experience at this walgreens!! A worker named Chisomaga helped me out today and I was looking for Squishmallows since I collect these plushies. He went ABOVE and BEYOND and went into the back to pull out the new Halloween squishmallows from the back. I was so excited and it was really cool to see a good chunk of the Halloween line before it hit the shelves! The FedEx department here sucks! The manager has been here for more than a decade and does shady business. She and her colleague could not get their device to work, so they tried to say I was scheduling a FedEx pickup. They took my signature and then looked like idiots when it did not go through because they had already scanned the return label. Then they tried to send me to Office Depot to see if was open. Ever heard of the internet? I had to return my packages via a drop box. The Indian cashier at Walgreens was pushy. She didn't even ask if I had an account with them or wanted one. This is the worst Walgreen's I've ever been to. Notably the pharmacy. Even if there's only 1-2 cars, drive-thru pharmacy can take 30-90 minutes. YES THAT LONG. Even showing up in person is a lengthy wait. And this the wait if this Walgreens already has the medication ready for you. Another situation had the Walgreen drive-thru person (rude RUDE asian lady with glasses) making me wait 45 minutes with both of my toddlers crying in the back for drive-thru. Instead I went inside, waited another THIRTY MINUTES (75 total min already) and the lady had the nerve to tell me that I needed to be patient. Really? 75 minutes wait with 2 crying kids and you don't even have the decency to apologize? This SAME LADY smashed my driver side door before when I picked up prescription from the drive-thru. She shouldn't be working there if she's treating customers like this. Avoid the asian lady in glasses in the pharmacy at all costs. I was in the area and had to get a few items at Walgreens. So as soon as I found this location, I immediately parked my car and walked in. I proceeded to the shampoo area and greeted one of the employees when I saw her. She was smiling and so friendly. A few minutes later, I went to ask her where I can find a certain make up brand and she gave me a look and just said, "around the corner". So I walked around and was looking at every corner of the beauty section and didn't find what I wanted. She then walks toward me and points to the product. If she told me where it was exactly, I wouldn't have to roam around like a crazy maniac. This employee makes me think of a phrase, "Don't judge a book from it's cover." *** 5 STARS for Lorena who works in the Pharmacy *** ....i needed meds for my pet so my vet called in the prescription about 5pm...i figured give them 2 hours to fill it and I'll call before coming in. I've had this issue happen before where i walk in after 2.5 hours, and its not filled so you learn! When calling the Pharmacy you are prompted to enter your phone number to check on the prescription status....as of 7:00 pm...the automated system said they couldn't locate and to call back as its probably not ready....call again at 7:30 (yes i was getting anxious as this pharmacy closes at 9pm)...still, nothing so i figure i better talk to someone.... 7:30 - the pharmacy tech answers the phone and asks for my last name...i tell them and they said they had no record. I said 'are you sure, my vet called it in around 5pm'....got a 'nope don't see it in the system...' - FAIL! 7:35 - i call my vet to make sure they called in the prescription which they gave me the Walgreen's location, phone number and person they spoke to....Vet talked to Hannah.....grrrr...then where's my prescription?!!! FAIL! 7:50 - i call again and this time, got Lorena and glad she's a person who takes initiative! She just didn't say they didn't have it in the system but put me on hold to find out what happened...(i guess Hannah went home) and they didn't fill it as they needed additional info from the vet....SIGH so if i didn't follow up it wouldn't have gotten filled? Lorena calls my vet and gets the necessary info to fill it... THUMBS UP! 8:00 pm - vet calls to tell me they gave the necessary info to the pharmacy and it was ready....WHEW! I don't know, there seems to be some disconnect somewhere and i'm not sure where? It makes me wonder if they had a call in or dropped the ball.....so you gotta be pro-active in following up yourself! Walk-in to pharmacy is not recommended. I had left hospital from surgery to pick up pain medication and they said didn't know how long it would be and did not offer me to wait. My medication was not ready until next day. On another occasion from urgent care was told would be ready in 45 minutes. After 3 hours I called in for status and was told it would be another hour. Giving a star for the the cashier Vanessa who helped me today, negative 5 stars for the 3 Filipino women ( yes, they were talking in Tagalog about their personal life and gossiping) who were at the beauty section laughing and yapping and was not helpful and rude! I am buying puppy pads and I noticed that the biggest bag that is on sale for $14.99 is empty so I took the $9 one with 50 pads. I was looking for help and since I was uncomfortable to interrupt their gossiping, I waited until someone finally looked at me after I said excuse me multiple times. I have been going to this Walgreens for years and years but lately I have feared for my safety. Yesterday this came to a head when I pulled up to grab my prescription and a few things and there were a couple of transients really staring at me. They walked by the cars on the handicapped spots and were leaning on them staring into the cars. When I came out one had pulled his hoodie down over his face and he was at the driver side of an empty car and when he saw me he grinned and went back over where his friends were and sat back down. The parking lot hasn't felt safe at night for a while but now it doesn't feel safe during the day. Walgreens doesn't seem to care, so I am going to find someplace new for my meds. When I made it further out of town towards Walgreens I thought I'll make this one more stop. Thank goodness I did. I got some Kleenex, Toilet Paper, and many other necessities and when I got to the checkout, I had to inquire "Do you have any rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer?" She, the checkout clerk very kindly said "Yes, but I can only let you have one each." She handed them to me and I was so happy to see Walgreens not letting everybody horde these items. Oh good grief this store is a disaster. I went at 8 pm on a Friday night and the line was literally ten people deep. The cashier moved at a glacial pace - stopping to engage every single person in conversation, forgetting where he was in the transaction, unable to count change, forgetting to push certain buttons, etc. Some people in line just walked out. Others started getting frustrated and cursing. The clientele here is pretty short tempered so be aware. The cashier kept trying to call for backup but the intercom wasn't working, so instead of just yelling or something, he just kept moving slowly. Stay away if you have anything less than 15 minutes to devote to checking out. Side note - the parking lot does not feel safe at night. read more

This Walgreens gets 5 stars from me for one specific reason: their cosmetics aisles are always clean and WELL-STOCKED! I've managed to find my favorite makeup products that are almost always sold out (or probably stolen) at Target, Ulta or Walmart - in abundance at this location. Rimmel's Epic and Tiramisu lip liners are staples in my makeup bag yet impossible to find in Union City or Fremont. They also carry Neutrogena Triple Moisture hair products, which are my go-to and impossible to find in stores closer to me. Sure, I can order shit online but that will never be as fun as going to a drugstore on a bad day and feeling like a million bucks after spending about $25. Y'all need to quit hating on the old Filipino women who work there (no, I'm not related to any of them so don't ask, racist). As if anyone working in a drugstore - especially if they're older - is really going to give a shit about customer service (and aside from the pharmacy, if you consider customer service a legitimate concern at a place like Walgreens or the dollar store, you have issues). I went here with my family last Thursday night (I was tired because of how late it was- we arrived at about 11:15). The Christmas cards that my wife ordered were ready in less than an hour. Good Deal: With tax, my wife was charged $30.23 for 40 glossy 5X7 photo cards. She saved $11.99 because of a promo code. She was a little dense, but the woman at the photo section tried her best to be helpful (what also stood out to me is that she looked like a goth princess). (I took a date here in the past. I was so bad on dates that even Hello Kitty said goodbye.) I rarely go to Walgreens, but I like the old-school charm that the locations possess. The prices here could be better overall, but there are always a number of items on sale. There's a large selection of candy here. My Necco Wafers were $1.29 (I was tempted to take advantage of it, but I passed on the 2 for $2 deal). My wife bought some pens for work (the section is small, but solid). They're cheap (10 for $2.99), but they work fine. (A weird woman was looking at the pens too. I was annoyed that she was in my wife's way because I knew for sure that she wasn't going to buy any.) There's a great selection of greeting cards. There's a decent selection of soft drinks and liquor. The book and magazine section is impressive despite being small (what there is to buy is good). Like at other locations, there's always a nice selection of seasonal items. A fair number of gift cards are sold here. The store is kept pretty clean. The shopping carts are small. You can barely fit a midget inside. The aisles could be a little wider. It can be easy for other shoppers to get in the way. Our cashier was friendly and fairly quick. The parking lot could be bigger. It was easy for us to find a spot because it was so late.
