These pharmacy people work their butts off! So busy back there and I always appreciate when they take extra care of me. Once my daughter didn't have enough $ and someone in the back leant her some (I paid them back+, of course). Another time Alisha (Alicia?), spent a bunch of time on the phone with me to find a way to keep my prescription cost down when she didn't have to. I had been awaiting my medication transfer since Friday. I was told that it would be there Monday. I called Monday and the pharmacist told me it was on it's way. I called again to check the status and the pharmacist was dismissive and said it was still not there. I called again Tuesday morning talked to Ryan and he was able to figure it out for me and got my meds filled. I called him throughout the day and he was very generous and helpful. When I went to pick them up another pharmacist that was about to take her break told him that they can't take two credit cards. I have been to Walgreens and they have always been wonderful. The pharmacist that instructed Ryan that they can't take two forms of payment left for her break and was extremely dismissive. I left without meds that can cause extreme withdrawals. Overall, terrible customer service. Except for Ryan he was wonderful. Choose you're Walgreens wisely. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've been too. Always a long line, both in store and rice thru, and it moves so slowly. Also takes way longer to fill a prescription compared to other pharmacies. If your insurance covers anywhere else, I'd go anywhere else. read more

I have been going here to the pharmacy for years. It has always had amazing pharmacy techs who are friendly. Recently the customer service is slipping badly. The last 4-5 times I went, I have waited 15-20 mins to get helped inside or in the drive thru. There is a man there that has been blatantly rude to me several times. One was on my way home from the hospital. He was giving my husband major attitude and didn't seem like he wanted us there. Sipping his coffee and not really caring whether I could stand any longer, my husband sat me down and asked again for help. He had a major attitude and was giving us grief for filling right there and then. I had just left the hospital from a cervical spinal fusion and he is upset we want to wait for the rx to be filled. My husband did not feel comfortable taking me home and coming back because the surgeon wanted someone with me at all times. If I wasn't in so much pain, I would have told him how I felt. I'm disappointed to say the least. Wait times are always high but the customer service was great until a few months ago. I'm not sure if they let some people go and are stressed but they need to remember we need their help. Otherwise we wouldn't be there. read more

What a complete waste of time!!!! I waited an hour to pick up a prescription. There were 11 people waiting in line. No one was being helped. They told me it would be 15 minutes and I waited well over an hour. Last week it was the same. The floor in filthy. Done with Walgreens. Ridiculous amount of time wasted. It's dirty and disgusting. Don't use their drive though. Waited in line for about 15 minutes. They were waiting for a prescription to be filled and we just sat there unable to get out since there was a car behind. Walgreens sucks. Walgreens in Encinitas REALLY SUCKS. The pharmacy is ridiculously slow, understaffed (?!), incompetent, and then chirpy sweet after you've waited an hour for a routine medicine pick-up. And unbelievably, the drive-through is just as bad, if not WORSE. I will never go there again, although it is a convenient stop between work and home. read more

The store's staff, all fantastic. Pharmacy's staff, mediocre at best. Most of the pharmacists are friendly, mature, helpful. The others haven't quite grown out of a high school mentality. One young lady in particular gives off the "I hate my job" vibe 100% of the time. Oh, and forgetting to fill 2/3's of a prescription doesn't exactly come across as a mistake, especially the second time it happens. I've given them the benefit of the doubt numerous times, but now I'd rather take reliability over convenience and am moving on. read more

They have been my pharmacy for over a year. Not too big...good size, but they don't carry naloxone like bigger CVS. Only Downside is that they are not open 24 hours a day, and their automated refill phone line can be quirky for topical medications. read more

I've been receiving prescriptions here for several years. Carol and all the staff has helped me navigate the various options with generic v. name brands, and the many options available for a given medication. I appreciate the assistance of the drug dispensers and their willingness to impart their knowledge in helping me decide which pharmaceutical maker offers the safest and most efficacious medication. I couldn't make a good decision without the Walgreens staff's input. They are professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. And, they are also busy. I reinforce the wonderful service by double checking the prescription with the contents; it is only prudent, not because anyone cannot make a mistake, but that this mistake can be more costly than most. I am grateful for Carol and the staff at Walgreens pharmacy. read more

I waited at the front counter with no one there to check anyone out. No one was on the the floor to check people out. A woman at the photo shop was busy taking pictures of someone and did manage to page someone to check me out, no one came. I walked to the back and waited to be checked out by the pharmacy tech instead. On my way out the door, someone finally came to the from to check people out. I've never been in a Walgreens where it was so difficult to find someone to pay. read more

I was previously a CVS customer when they stopped being able to carry the majority of my prescriptions so I switched to Walgreens and now my life is so much easier. The pharmacists at this particular Walgreens are so knowledgeable and so helpful that I never leave without feeling like I have been truly taken care of. Best thing: I can come in for one prescription, and if another is close to needing a refill but not quite there yet, the pharmacist knows and offers to fill it right then so I don't have to do a double trip. Do not go to this pharmacy. The pharmacy manager, Carol, is rude and insulted me. She was unclear in her question to me, and then basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about concerning my insurance benefits, which I was quite knowledgable about, and have been using for years. She was haughty and told me "You'll be sorry at the end of the year when your insurance doesn't pay and you get a bill for this." Of course, my insurance paid. I asked for an apology from her, twice, and she told me she was sorry we had a difference of opinion. When i told her that was not an apology for the way she treated me and the distress she caused me (my husband was dying at the time), she said she had to go as she had other customers waiting. In addition, one of their techs also insulted me, saying she couldn't find me on my insuranceI website, told me I didn't have insurance, but she had spelled my name wrong. and there was no apology from her, either, just more rudeness and poor customer treatment. I am transferring my prescriptions and will not go into that Walgreens again for anything. There are a lot of good pharmacies in Encinitas. There's no reason to go to one where the manager is rude and ignorant. read more

Best pharmacy ever. Rarely a line or long wait, helpful, nice people...but most importantly for a mom with a car full of kids...a DRIVE THRU! So awesome. I used to go to CVS in Trader Joes lot and it sucked. Always a long wait...irritated people behind the counter, and always constant confusion about my prescriptions, insurance, etc. None of that with Walgreen pharmacy. They make my life easier. This is a crowded drug store packed to the gills with cheap products. I feel slightly claustrophobic in this store because the aisle are stacked so high that you feel so small. Also, if hate to be in this store during an earthquake. The only things I like about this store: clean and newer than other drug stores, and the customer service is great. read more

The photo lab at this place is incredible! The quality is better than most I've seen, which is enough for me, but the care they put into what they're doing will keep me from trying anyone else. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered photos from them and the staff was professional and efficient. I appreciated that they went above and beyond to help me with a special request. I was the second person in line ready to checkout and another cashier said she could help me. Thought that was pretty cool becuase I ddint' have long to wait in the first line. Related to pharmacy only, not the store. Walgreens pharmacy phoned around noon today stating there was confusion re a prescription my Dr phoned in. Wanted to know if my preference for the prescription was Walgreens or, Optum RX (mail in). I told her, Mary I believe, that I would simply pick up the prescription later in the day. She stated it would be ready! Drive-up window to pick up the prescription customer service fellow said there was a problem in the computer with the prescription, I told him Mary phoned to explain the problem and said she would call me back. Five minutes later she called and said the confusion with Optum was resolved. He spoke to the pharmacist who will fill the prescription while I wait 15 minutes. Told him I wasn't sitting in the driveway 15 minutes and left. I called the Walgreens number in Encinitas but there wasn't a way to reach the manager to complain about their failed system. So, here I am venting. Oh, I also plane to change all of my prescription to Optum. Reading the Yelp reviews it appears there is no one in the pharmacy accountable for the poor service. Walgreens, you need to shape up your pharmacy. It is so backwards. read more

This is the absolute worst pharmacy that I have ever had to deal with! If I could give them a zero I would. Like other reviewers have commented the service is awful and they have on multiple occasions messed up the order. I've placed my prescription refills through their automated phone system and they confirm the time and date the order will be ready. I go in to pick up the order only to find that it is not ready or they have run out of the medication and only partially refill it; they tell me I have to come back the following week to pick up the remaining order, but they insist on charging me more than the value of what they have refilled. I had one prescription of 3 boxes of patches that was supposed to cost me $10. Because of their incompetence, they only had one box (even though the automated system indicated that the full order was ready) and made me pay $5 for one box instead of $3.33, and told me to come back the next week to pick up the other two boxes and they would only charge me an additional $5 for the other two boxes. Never mind the complete inconvenience of me having to run back and forth to this pharmacy which is 8 miles away, when I went to pick up the additional boxes they wanted to charge me $10 instead of $5 and said they would give me a $5 gift certificate to use in their store to make up the difference! Are you kidding me??!! How unprofessional is that! When I complained and wouldn't leave the window until they corrected it and charged me $5 instead, they finally angrily relinquished....they are rude, incompetent, and unprofessional. Every time I have gone there they have signs up that they are hiring in the pharmacy....that indicates to me a constant turnover of people who don't know what they are doing. And the drive-up window is a nightmare. Today I was third in line to the drive-up window. After 15 minutes the line did not move and just as I was about to try and back up another car pulled in behind me. I finally got to the window 20 minutes after I pulled in, and it took them another 20 to 25 minutes at the window for them to call several managers over to try and find my order and then try to straighten it out. I had placed 3 prescriptions that they had said would be ready. Two of the prescriptions weren't filled at all and I was told I'd have to come back next week, and one prescription was only partially filled and I was told I would have to come back next week to pick up the remainder of that prescription. On top of it all they had the nerve to ask me if I would pull out and come into the store so they could help the people behind me in the drive-up window! I told them "no" and I didn't budge. By this time the drive-up line was backed up into the parking area. These people at the drive-up have no idea what they are doing. I wouldn't hire them to work the drive-up window at a Taco Bell filling burrito orders, much less a pharmacy filling prescriptions. This is not an isolated occurrence. I will be changing to another pharmacy. read more

WOW...woke up with a cold and was rushing to get to work and stopped at Walgreens. Walked up to the front door and realized they didn't open until 8 am. It was 7:45 am and I was cursing myself for not stopping at the 24 hr CVS, when the nicest man walked up and said, "do you need to get into the store? I can help you." He opened the store, helped me find my cold medicine, rang up my purchase. Then as I was leaving he kindly said, "I hope this helps." TOTALLY changed my day. This is what customer service is. Walked to the pick up area and a pharmacist named Carol immediately started attacking me and being rude to my grandmother about prescriptions not going through insurance. We offered the insurance card and she just rolled her eyes and walked away, seriously, she needs to be fired for being so unprofessional and not being able to control her emotions, I'm going to tell all my neighbors not to transfer their meds there, she is so blatantly out of control, as a health care provider seriously keep your anger at bay read more

I like it. At first I didn't want it but it's OK now. I'm a Bank of America customer (right next door) so it makes things easier. It's small and tight but seems to offer everything I need. I've had photos printed here and they are pretty good quality. Come to think of it, new store probably equals new printer. So come here to print your photos.
