I really enjoy shopping here for the selection of goodies they have ( am a huge chocoholic and I usually come here for my fix ) but I can't really say I care too much for the employees here. There is a guy here named Manuel who always gives me the 3rd degree for coming in every week to buy chocolate and I really don't know what his deal is. He hasn't actually said anything to me, it's just the way he deals with me and his mannerisms when he has to attend me. VERY annoying but besides that the deals here are great and I always buy much more than I need. I REALLY have to stop doing that. :) read more

I had a lower molar extracted on Wednesday, 7/7. Had an emergency dental appointment just now due to pain and was given a prescription. I walk in and stand in line apparently staff was at lunch. When I get to the front of the line, the young girl shows the pharmacist my rx. He said, tell her it'll be 30 minutes, if you want me to look at it, we have to help everybody else. She told me to sit down and wait. I said why, I waited in line like everybody else? Why do I have to wait? She rolls her eyes, walks away and ignored me. I stood and waited. She told me to sit down again. "We have to help everyone else first?!" If I ever said something like that to a patient, I would be fired. I won't be returning to Walgreens under any circumstances from this point on. Customer service is important to me and should be to Walgreens as well. I have been sitting here waiting, listening to these people interact with the customers. I am almost embarrassed for them. I also heard the pharmacist check on my prescription as if it was not authentic or I am trying to get away with something. I promise you, an emergency dental appointment on a Sunday afternoon would NEVER happen, unless absolutely necessary! read more

For the 2nd time we have tried to get things printed in this store-1st time no one let me know that their printer is broken-I had to go into the store the next day & ask where my pictures were. This time we tried to print out papers needed for a school assignment. Ordered yesterday afternoon, last night my husband went to the store & they said they weren't ready that we would receive an email when the order is ready. Here we are 20 hours later, I call, sit on hold....finally told that their printer isn't working right now!!! Why would they not tell my husband this last night?! Now we are scrambling to find somewhere else to get them printed fast. I am so angry right now. Is it that hard to send an email letting people know they aren't going to receive their order?! I yelled at the poor lady & it wasn't her fault & I am sure it is not the first time someone has been as upset as me over this. This is very unprofessional. read more

This review is for the PHOTO department. ***WARNING!!!*** Do not print photo books here!!! I ordered for a photo book online for the next day pick up. It took the guy 25 min to find the book. I'm not sure why they are so unorganized. The quality is terrible!!! The cover is uneven. The cut-out square is not aligned with the picture on the first page. All pictures were tinted pink. it didn't look pink on my screen and when I printed the same pictures at Costco, they didn't look pink either. I was disappointing with their quality. Take your pictures somewhere else to be printed. read more

Yesterday my husband ran out of his Davidoff Cool Water perfume so we went here to get it. It's locked behind the cosmetics counter. Right now the large 4.20 oz. bottle is on sale for only $37.99. It's even less than the medium bottle, lol! I love that perfume on him, it smells really great. We always go here to get it since it's much less expensive than the perfume at the mall. Target sells it to, but it's a pain to buy it since you have to ask for a sales clerk to unlock the the case and it takes forever for someone to get to you. Plus, it's usually out most of the time in the original men's fragrance. Another great thing about this location is that they have a drive-thru pharmacy. Another location nearby on Winchester Blvd. also has a drive-thru pharmacy. So if you have rowdy kids or you're just picking up whatever medicine you or someone else needs, this is great. read more

This Walgreens has always gotten me out of many a tough spot. I needed safety pins for a baby shower like right that second, and boom! This Walgreens had it. I needed poster paper in a large roll for an activity THAT day? Yay, they had it! There are lots of things jam packed into the store, you can find everything from children's books to your favorite Revlon lipstick. Especially stuff that is totally useless that you don't need! Who needs a spongey gooey spikey ball that glows like a strobe? Oooh, I do, I do! What about anti-microbial hand spray? Oooh yes please! Me! Me! And for the record, I've never used this Walgreens for my pharmacy needs, nor have I encountered the awful staff, so I can't speak to that. But gobs of stuff? I can speak to that! read more

OMG! There is always someone asking for money around this store. Whether it is the random person outside or an organized charity. Look I am a super giving person. I have charities I donate to, I volunteer, so just because I run in to get some tampons don't try and guilt me or make me feel like crap just because I didn't give to YOUR cause! Can I please just get what I need and get out? No apparently not. I have to wait FOREVER in line for some schmoe to figure out that it might take 2 hands to open the bag to put my crap in. If it wasn't so close I'd never go. Now I limit it to the emergency pick-up of a product. I give it 1 star for having what I need 80% of the time, but that is as far as I can go with it. read more

Specifically reviewing the Pharmacy. Very poor service. They operate by their own rules and appear to make up explanations and "rules" on the fly. Prices for the same drugs change wildly over time and they change what is delivered for a given Rx without notifying the prescribing doctor or the customer. can you give a half star review? I have only been to the pharmacy here and have since never been back. I went to pick up a prescription for my 3 yr old son and thats were things went horribly wrong. The pharmacists first problem was that there was a HUGE HUGE HUGE language obstacle. The doctor had to repeat the himself in slow motion about 12 times. I show up at the arranged time and he tells me 30 more minutes 3 times. I then finally get the prescription and after giving my son the first dose I called my doctor to make sure it was filled correctly. It turns out the pharmacist was having me give him THREE(3) times the dosage the doctor had prescribed. On top of this when I called the district manager he made it clear to me that the English language was not an important aspect of a pharmacists job but just the ability to count to 10. very reassuring read more

We live really close to this Walgreens location, so by default, if we ever need anything from a drugstore, we normally come here. The store itself is decently clean and organized. The staff is very friendly and customer service is great. The older lady at the front counter is extremely nice and helpful- she will point out coupons if you happen to be buying something that they have on sale and you didn't have the coupon with you. This place deserves 5 stars for overall cleanliness, selection of items, and customer service, however on one recent visit, a staff member left us with sour feeling so minus one star (unfortunately one experience at a place can lower the rating in my opinion). We were in the photo section looking at the self-print kiosk when the photo clerk came over and made a rude comment that they would be closing in an hour and that their machines were not working properly so...we would have to come back. He didn't even first ask if we were even printing photos or what our purpose was for being in the photo section. He assumed we would have needed his assistance in some way, and obviously did not want to help, and basically told us to come back another day. I understand it was an hour from closing, but his tone and demeanor could have been different. Will continue to come here but will not deal with that particular staff member. read more

Would like to give a negative star if Yelp had something lower than 1 star. The cashier Matty or Matthew not sure exactly but he is the unkept one with glasses and shoulder length hair, he has absolutely no customer service. I'm baffled as to why he is always in the front of the store. He should not be representing Walgreens. His unwelcome sometimes flat greetings sets the tone for the rest of your walgreens shopping experience. Last week I put my items to purchase on his counter that he had just wiped down, not aware that he was closed because there was no sign saying closed. He immediately turned around with fire in his eyes threw up his hands in the air and grumbled something that didn't sound like words then rolled his eyes like a grade school girl. So ,I apologized and picked up my stuff and went over to the next register. I'm kicking myself for apologizing for his rude customer service. This pharmacy is hot and cold. Sometimes easy but lately impossible. For two days I have tried to contact the pharmacy to speak with a pharmacist. Both times on hold for over 15 minutes and guess what? My excitement level went way up as I heard the phone picked up, then I was crushed as I heard the phone crash. After 2 attempts! Bothe time after such a long wait, they hung up on me! So outrageous! I hate them! read more

Walgreens has FARR sale going on this week. I am kinda getting sick of this as it takes time and most of the stuff they give I already have plenty of. I dropped by this branch and was greeted by this really nice courteous cashier who worked at the cosmetics counter. She asked if I needed help and obviously I declined as I figured I knew where they put the goodies. When I couldn't find them, I went back to the nice lady for help and she helped me find them! RR are Coupons that act as cash and can be rolled over on different transactions. They had pain killers, body wash and mouthwash for free after RRs...... Most cashiers don't like ppl using these RR and also find it to be a PITA...see my story on certain cashiers at the Wag on Hamilton. This cashier must have rung me up half a dozen times w/o one complaint and always a happy smile I'm giving this store 5 stars for the super kind service that I received.... read more

Love this Walgreens. Have used others but this one is hands down the best in service esp in pharmacy. Fast but accurate, attentive to details, willing to tussle with insurance companies and doctors, promptly notify you of prescriptions being ready, available monthly autuomatic refill service that's handy. Just a friendly, well run group. The employees here are far more helpful than at the other stores. No matter which department, they're always pleasant and without being pushy seem to really care that you find what you are looking for. The stock is good and it's easy to run in and find what you need whether it's makeup, cold medicine, office supplies or chips. Easy parking too. The mini mall it's in has a Nob Hill as well as UPS, hair, nail salons, Hawg's restaurant, Starbucks and sports store - you can get a lot done with only one stop. Nice! read more

I stopped by the store because the San Jose Mercury News published a little blurb saying that you could get the historic "Obama Wins" newspaper at all Santa Clara Walgreens. Hey, wanting to have a little bit of history in my home, I headed over to this Walgreens, only to find that the SJ MercNew didn't know diddly. Good news (ha! a pun...) is that Irma looked through every single newspaper in the "old, to be discarded" stack of newspapers, trying to find the historic paper. While she didn't have any luck, she did look through about 20 papers, which I thought was darned helpful. read more

Upon getting my purchases rung up this morning, there was a rather unkempt woman standing near the card machine. She was waiting for the cashier to authorize a card for her. The cashier kept trying to motion me to move forward, but the woman had no mask on, and she was leaning on the machine I needed to use my debit card. I didn't want to hurt the woman's feelings, but the cashier didn't get what I was saying, so I finally had to say, rather loudly, "no social distancing and no mask!" the woman finally moved over. My concern why does Walgreens allow ANYONE into the store and let them wait around when they don't have a mask? Masks are mandatory for all stores. read more

Called in and ask specifically if they had my medication and brand. The guy working on Friday 3/3/2017 at 5PM said yes. I asked again if he was sure it was brand, and he said yes we have the "control" medication on hand. I asked to be sure if "control" means that particular brand I wanted. He said yes. I even asked, in scenario, if I dropped off the prescription right now, can he fill it. He said, yes. So I had my doctor send the script over on Monday. They called me back same day to say they have to order it. They don't carry it. They don't have it in stock. And they are not sure until after they order it to know if the supplier can even fill it. Can't really speak on any other experience with this pharmacy. The guy sounded rushed and his tone lean towards getting me off he phone. I'll change my review if my experience changes. In regards to pharmacy: Here is why it's so "Slow" 1. Written prescriptions often have sloppy Doctor's handwriting so it is necessary to contact the doctor for clarification. Even an experienced pharmacist cannot guess or ASSUME, and No they CANNOT take your word for it when you tell them what drug it is. (Most of the time patients do not know what drugs they are taking anyway). 2. Walgreens is RETAIL so they are always understaffed and worried about their budget. Even when there is a high volume of customers. Walgreens is cheap. 3. The internet system is not reliable, it is shuts down and freezes often. 4. This pharmacy has a newer and safer filling machine. This machine requires thorough and detailed documentation of the drug being prescribed, the manufacturer, expiration dates, verification on the appearance of the tablets being administered. The machine requires the technician to take pictures of EACH med, vial, label, leaflet and adjust the lighting and focus the image. (THIS TAKES TIME!!! Pharmacy staff are not Genie's, your meds do not miraculously appear! It requires time and careful attention to what they are doing! If you rush them you are just going to make them F*** it up! YOU are the one that could die if ) THEN the pharmacist receives the image on their end and must verify everything is correct. 5. THEN the technician must deal with each RX's insurance rejections, prior authorizations, drugs not being covered, patients' deductibles, medicare technicalities, it gets complicated and time consuming even for the most seasoned techs. *****Please do not expect your prescription to be filled in 15 minutes. It is not mcdonalds, these are medications, the staff can make serious mistakes if you hassle them and raise a big stink about how YOU need YOUR meds RIGHT AWAY. The techs are people. Do not think it is okay to abuse, degrade, yell at them. They all are working hard to help you. read more

She had some really disrespectful things to say about the customers and us. My husband had coupons and she yanked them from him and was really rude about it. We love the store, it's close and clean. Pharmacy review- I had never used this particular Walgreen's pharmacy before until now. To summarize- slow, rude, inefficient. I get that there are "systems" in place to fill prescriptions, but medication has never take this long anywhere before. Especially with no one entering the pharmacy area to pick up or drop off. There was just no real effort to get things moving. I felt mistreated & over-charged. read more

Not impressed with this Walgreens. Selection of just about anything pales in comparison to Longs. To make matters worse I went and bought an over the counter medication assuming it would be NOT EXPIRED. Get home ready to take it and it had expired 4 months ago!!! I had to go back return it, and then go to Longs and buy it again. Waste of time. When I told the Pharmacy, they apologized but didn't give me the impression that anything would be done to prevent this from happening again. read more

Went to drive thru and dropped off my perscription. I told lady I'd be back in 1/2 hour and she said that was perfect. Came back 1/2 later and it wasn't ready. She said to come back in 15 minutes. I came back 2 hours later and line at drive thru was backed up so I parked and went inside. Line was 4 people deep. Finally got to front and was told there was a problem with the prescription (Insurance would only pay for a months dose), an easy fix on their computer but noone seemed to make a couple key strokes. Waited for Pharmasist to do that. He did so only to find out that they were out of one of the med's I needed. 1/2 wait later, I finally got 1 medication but I still need to go back for the ramining one. Frustration!! I'll try another Walgreens next time or another pharmacy all together. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY FOR FLU SHOTS OR THE CLINIC. They are extremely disorganized and come very close to making dangerous mistakes. I made an appointment for a flu shot, but still had to wait 45+ minutes to receive the injection. Then, when I finally saw the pharmacist, SHE ALMOST GAVE ME THE WRONG SHOT! She only noticed at the last minute as she was about to give me the injection, that I had checked the box for pregnancy and so required a different formula. read more

I have had it with this stupid store! I take several prescriptions each month, and every month it becomes a bigger nightmare. I have "stopped" auto refills at least 4 times & yet they keep filling prescriptions in some cases, that I don't even take anymore. This becomes a real problem when I ask my husband to swing by & pick them up. I have ended up with countless meds that I don't need or want. I am sick & tired of the rude service, the long lines, & the prescription screw ups! read more

The last few times that I have come to this Walgreens, I have encountered two different people working there, who were not helpful at all. Honestly, this store has often had at least one unpleasant person working there. So, I would rather drive to other locations, than wonder if I will be treated right there. read more

If you need photos fast- this is the Walgreen's for you! Being an last minute kind of person, I waited until yesterday to do a family photo for my Xmas cards. The hardest part of the ordeal was getting the kids to sit still here at home. I uploaded the photos, edited & cropped them, then selected the amount & hit order. The best part is you'll get an email when they are don't & it's usually way before the promised time. Yes, some of the employees there don't know what customer service is, but at least the photo machine doesn't always break down like at target! I love it! The pharmacy is definitely lacking- but the photo service is awesome! read more
