He showed me several displays of hardware around the store that might serve my needs. After looking in three different areas, we found exactly the right item! And then I needed an enzymatic drain cleaner, and he walked me through the specifics of the various brands for sale, going through the details until we found just the right one for my needs. Updating my review as this has lowkey become a great, go-to hardware store. Despite living a handful of miles north, we discovered it when looking to get somewhere via ebike and the Trolley Trail, and it's been kind of great ever since. I've brought my pup in here as she continues to need some socialization and it always goes well. One time the clerks had their dog too and they became fast friends. This store really packs quite a bit into it. Of course it won't be as sizable as a Home Depot, but man oh man is the experience world's better. I found every single thing on my list which was great. It's closest size comparison to me would be the Ace in Westport, but hey guess what, you don't have to fear for your life in KC's worst intersection if you come here! It's easy to park in the lot out front, off of the always-busy 75th Street. My kids love it because they have a gumball machine, whoopie cushions, and other classics from back in the day when the world was making real attempts to be fun. I think I might even go out of my way again to come back to this spot more regularly.. nice place. read more

I think this hardware store holds up to being my favorite hardware store and Kansas City. Whenever there is something I need and it's a specialty, their customer service is usually fairly thorough and able to locate items that are hard to find. Ill give you an example, there was a bolt to the top of my lawn mower that apparently had come off while I was using it, and I brought my lawn more to them and they were able to locate a bolt that would fit the space but I bet you get up with one of the other bolts that I did have. Granted it took them some time to find, but they were able to match it up and i was pretty happy that I could find that service here in Kansas City. You will not find that kind of help at a Lowe's or a Home Depot by any means. read more

Love this old-school hardware store. 'Old-school' as in it reminds me of the cool hardware stores I'd go to with my dad when I was a kid- filled to the rafters with all sorts of fun stuff, all those things you can't believe you've ever lived without. There's creaky floors and it could use a good sweeping, but you don't go to a hardware store for its looks, anyway! All the staff members here are super nice and helpful. One little drawback is the small parking lot that sometimes gets full, especially around school drop off & pick up because there are several schools close by. read more

I bought hand clippers that were 16$. The plastic handles warped after using them for 1 day. The china plastic landscaping tools they sell are cheaply made. Satisfaction guaranteed- i was not satisfied and tried to return them within 3 days of purchasing. They would not take the item and were rude to me and showed no care that I was not satisfied with the item they sold me. I will not be supporting this business anymore as they do not offer returns of products used that are warped from poor manufacturing. "Life time warranty" is a lie. Sad to say this is why big businesses like homedepot last because they take returns no matter what. - had they taken care of me I'd be glad to continue spending money with them. But with the shit attitude i received and lack of customer care i will buy my products elsewhere for my successful landscaping business. read more

I left my phone on a counter when I showed the store person a picture of a hitch pin I was needing. after leaving I realized I didnt have my phone and went back in and it was gone. I asked the girl at the check out to call my phone 3 different times. after confronting 2 individuals one the store person who assisted me who said he didn't know about me phone and then calling my phone myself from their phone which went right to voice mail, they suddenly found my phone. My phone had not been turned off when I was there. so someone turned it off. sadly there was no missed calls from waldo hardware either. read more

I love this place. The people that work here greet you at the door and ask you what you're working on. They don't ask if you need help. I like this. I enjoy doing stuff around my house, but I don't think the rejects at Home Depot are the most reliable source for advice. I do however trust these people. I've been here often enough to not need help finding stuff, but they are super helpful and knowledgeable. This is a neighborhood store. They remember you, and let you know how much they appreciate your business by giving you great service. They allow pets, dogs, birds, whatever. Did I mention that they are super helpful, but don't hover? It's a small, small hardware store, but other than lumber, they have whatever a normal person needs to accomplish a weekend project. Also, they sell Marshalltown tools, which are pretty nice, if you're going to do any grouting of tile in your home, buy a Marshalltown grout float. I do that stuff for a living... This place reminds me of the hardware store in the neighborhood I lived in in Brooklyn for a short time, they have everything you need, they just don't have a wide variety of brands for everything you need. Go here if you need any kind of rope, seeds, wire, tools, paint, a key, some pipe fittings, whatever, they are local and they are a great piece of a great neighborhood. read more

Whenever possible I try to support Euston's. Their staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Amazon may be cheaper, but it won't tell you what you'll need. They have helped me solve DIY issues so many times. I'm happy to spend a bit more to support my neighbors! read more

The service was very friendly and I was a little surprised they had what I needed after just coming from a larger hardware store that did not have what I needed. Stopped in there to find some screws I had lost with a kit. Of course I had no idea what I needed and only 10 screws were needed. They took me to the aisle, spent time fitting screws into my metal pieces I had brought as example. I walked spending only a couple bucks but a satisfied customer with exactly what I needed. I LOVE this place. Everyone is always so helpful. I've never had a bad experience here. Sure, the big-box stores might be cheaper, but you will not get the same service as you do here. Parking lot is pretty tight and a little hard to get in and out of, but overall, it's the best around! The store mainly just had small needs. I don't think they have a large supply of building materials, power tools, or anything like that, but their selection of small needs (e.g., nails, screws, gardening tools, etc.) is adequate. read more

Each and every time I've visited I've gotten excellent help and really wonderful customer service. The last time I went it was to find screws to attach my license plate to my car. Not only did the man helping me know almost immediately which size screws would fit, but he went outside and attached my plates to my car for me. Spending money here is worth every penny because of the time and attention spent on each customer. read more

I've lived in Waldo 25 years and have been going here just as long. In the past I would have given them an excellent rating, but not now. It's very disappointing. I don't get the help I used to get and the staff seems very disinterested and aren't knowledgeable about things I need help with. The staff is mostly younger guys and they seem more interested in hanging out by the check out counter then helping customers. On a recent Saturday I left in disgust and went to the Ace at 103rd. They were great and were very helpful. Waldo True Value isn't what it used to be, that's for sure. read more
