Super cute shop, came in looking for an area rug for the new house. One of the owners was beyond helpful & fun to talk to, pulled up the rug manufacturer's website to give all the options & pricing. Cute shop, with lots of Knick knacks for gifts.

What a fun store! Lots of beautifully curated arts, jewelry, gifts and home goods. I love how anything I picked up or inquired about, the owner (?) knew the name, where the artist was from and some sort of little anecdote. If I were pulling together a gift basket, this place would definitely be my 1st stop! Nice that they offered a day of shopping by appointment and that we were able to snag a spot. I'll be back next time I'm in KC.

Want to feel like you've walked into the friendliest and most colorful art gallery, where all your friends hangout and you get a "kiss" (Hershey's), at the end if every purchase? Well, then "a store named STUFF" is the right place for you! The sisters that own the place are fabulous and support so many local artists, by showcasing and selling their items, at their store. Needless to say, you are truly supporting locally, when you shop here. So great and so fun, you'll be able to find something for everyone here! xx

What stuff do you want? What stuff can you dream up? What constitutes stuff? I'm thinking a turtle made from a WWII helmet? Hmmm. . . where could I get that? Whatever stuff you're thinking, you'll probably find something of complete insane ingenuity at Stuff over in Brookside. To speak plainly, your soul will dance. Then do a back-bend. Then ask, "How'd they do that?" The artistry and metalwork you'll find in the eclectic items at Stuff will truly inspire you're need to be crafty or to pull out the greenbacks. Stuff also offers up Art Adventures-art classes (with a registration fee) that will have your inner Martha Stewart beating in no time. Perhaps you want to create a suitcase out of recycled traffic signs. Something heavy, unique, an eye-catcher so to speak. Wait, they already sell those. C'mon, you gotta do better that. The prices reflect unique, hand performed work so expect to drop a hundred, even on one item. Regardless, you'll see why and find reason to fall in love with the place.

Amy R. hit the nail on the head with her review - it's like arts and crafts on crack - every place there is something to look at, every corner has colors and patterns and quirk. You could spend hours in a section of it and get dizzy with all there is to see and buy - it's stimulating. I gave Stuff a bad rap - you see, it never used to be this good. I went in a few years ago when it first opened and I swear it had to of been run by some stuffed shirt from Johnson County - the whole scene was backwards. I accidentally dropped two or three postcards I was looking at on the checkout counter and the woman actually reprimanded me! Well, I believe she's long gone because the store on a beautiful Saturday afternoon was just as full of employees as it was customers, and they were all young and hip and wearing cool square glasses. They were smiling and laughing about this new shipment of jewelry they had gotten in - (I snuck a peak at it, the new jewelry was beautiful). I have a little cold, and I asked them for some Kleenex, and this Anthropologie-dressed woman told me kindly that all they had back there was balled up toilet paper - which I laughed at and told her fine with me! They were really into the place, you know - very refreshing, very Brookside. They were proud of STUFF, the walls were lined with the awards they've received over the last few years - and I can understand why. I was just in there yesterday, but I can't seem to pin down one definitive item to write about... I think there were cool, artsy light switch fixtures with pop icons like Marilyn Monroe and Buddy Holly on them, journals with clever phrases on the cover, aprons and cake-stands, crafty chairs with buttons on them and plush quilts on the cushions. There was a local artists paintings on the west wall, perfect for my kitchen, of cats and cutesy colorful images with the doodled painted "Good Morning" over the top - put me in a good mood to keep shopping the rest of the day. I can't believe I avoided going in there simply because of the coolness of this one woman years ago - it just goes to show how establishments can change even when the name stays the same. I also don't remember it being this cool, having this much STUFF in it - I found this amazing pendant I would die to have, things like that. Maybe it's me that's changed...hm...anyways, enough of that - bottom line: I like stuff.

Stuff is my FAVORITE place to be. We went backwards to Kansas City from a St. Louis wedding so I could go...and I went two days in a row. This place is loaded with the most artsy creative stuff I have ever seen. There is everything from home decor to jewelry to oddities you've just got to have. You need to go more than once because you are sure to miss something. I first went here three years ago. Husband was here for work and I went there every day after I dropped him off. Not only is the art beautiful and ecclectic to meet every whim but they will work with the artisit if you have something personal you want done-like the doggie things I want to get soon. Katy and Joann(sp) were great fun as always. I look forward to when I can come back again!

This is my favorite store in Brookside, if for just browsing and looking through everything. I'm not an 'artist', when you come into Stuff, I think it makes everyone an artist because there is just so many different things and opportunities for you to create, and your imagination just seems to be seeping out of you. I also get so many great ideas just by stepping into this store- and I always leave feeling inspired and good about life, no matter what kind of day I was having beforehand. Besides all the sweet crafty and random STUFF, this store also holds classes to teach you how to make jewelry, scarfs, collages, mom/daughter items, so many more. They provide all the materials and even give you a snack while you are working. They also are part of several events, including 'Diva Day', and AIDS walk, and an event about raising breast cancer awareness, which means a lot to me because that runs in my family. Yes, this is a classic Brookside store. But what makes it stand out is its ability to inspire creativity and imagination in everyone who walks into it. ;)

This fantastic boutique doesn't have a ton of merchandise, but I want all of it. Well, not the ladies clothes, as I'm not a crossdresser. But if I were, I'd be a classy one and probably buy my clothes at George, too. Seriously, this store is nice! I'm impressed in particular by three areas: the pet stuff, their books and their dishes. Their little pet corner is small, but adorable. They had really great chew-toys, leashes, collars and dog bowls. The dog bowls would look fantastic in a modern home, and we plan on getting one of the collars for our pooch once her current one starts looking natty. Their collection of books is incredibly well curated. Lots of great cookbooks, cocktail guides and coffee table books. Also, they have a couple of kids books that certain parents would be way into, if you want your kids learning about CoCo Chanel and the like. Their dishes are all VERY nice (and quite expensive) and if I hung out with a higher tax bracket, I'd be hoping for wedding gifts from here. The store is just really pretty, as well. I was equally impressed with their fixtures and general ambiance as I was their merchandise. I'll be back for sure, as soon as I have some extra funds to spend on making my house look extra fancy.

George is on the same level as Manifesto is to drinking and bluestem is to eating.....locally owned with great attention to detail. George is a beautiful, open and fresh boutique and design store.
