Let me start out by saying that the main reason for my not so perfect review has nothing to do with the employees of this shop. In fact, I'd like to say that the few young baristas I've had the chance to meet have been nothing but kind, informative and just generally pleasant to deal with. I love coffee! I am very interested in the beans themselves, but not so familiar with the espresso drinks...In fact during my last visit, a young gentlemen helped me pick out a drink that I had never tried, I believe it was a cold "white trash chai " which was very good on a hot day! My main concern is with how the place seems to be managed. I'm not very familiar with the goings on in historic wake forest, but I've been to this shop at least a dozen times in the past year or so (usually to visit my brother at SEBTS). I always enjoy my drinks and service but I've never been impressed by the lack of quality when it comes to how many items they usually have out of stock, basic things like mocha and chai (even once I was told they were out of beans!!!! A COFFEE SHOP WITHOUT BEANS!!??) I really hope there is a reasonable explanation for that kind of slip-up. If it is a regular thing, I am more than just a little worried about how long they will stay in business. I hope these problems are fixed because it would be a shame to see such a neat little place close down because of something so simple as ordering and stocking correctly. On another down side, the internet connection is totally unreliable, while I was there e-mailing family in SC, I had to ask the young man at the counter to reset the system at least twice. I just see these things as simple fixes! If you advertise free WiFi, I almost consider it false advertisement if it only works 1/2 the time. I also was not impressed by the attitude I received from, who I can only assume was the owner of the shop, (seeing as there was a large painting of him on the wall and he didn't seem like an employee) when I asked him where they got their beans and more information on their growing origins. (I'm a southern boy who loves his coffee!!) He shrugged me off as if I wouldn't understand the answer the the question I was asking, or as if he wanted me to think they were better quality than they actually were. To be quite honest, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, their drip coffee is always weak, though their baristas have poured me more than a few decent shots of espresso that made up for the lack of the coffee. Like I said, I'm not exactly what they might call a "regular" customer, and perhaps I've hit a streak of bad luck, that the times I've been in they have disappointed me with how the store was managed. I'd say the BEST thing about this place is the staff! They are always smiling and happy to please the customers. I really hope this place stays open for their sake. I appreciate what I've been told the shop does for the community, and I pray they fix these simple problems as soon as possible so they can keep on keepin' on! -Andy read more

Wake Forest Coffee Company is outstanding. The drink: * The coffee is good. * I have only sampled some of the espresso drinks (I'm a coffee drinker), but they have always been well made. Everything is reasonably priced. The food: * Pastries only. Good pastries. I debated on the 5-star / 4-star rating since they are pastries only, but for some of these cafes, other food is a real stretch. They deserve 5-stars. * Nearby places are within walking distance. * Bonus: Brewery is a couple doors down: White Street Brewing. The staff: The customer service is top-notch. The owner is often there and very friendly. The baristas are a super-friendly bunch. The space: * Very college-ish. The cafe is right next to a seminary, so lots of students from there come in. So, not truly "college" or "students" per ce, but it has a similar vibe... with a quirky twist (note, plenty of non-seminary people there so don't be afraid! You will not be evangelized.) * The music is always excellent. * Two floors. The top is a meeting location (clubs meet, local business groups, etc) and artist loft (called the Artist Loft) and gallery. Really nice vibe. So... TONs of room. So, if you want to chill for a couple hours -- no big deal. The WiFi: * Blazing fast. * Google Project Fi's wifi assistant compatible. Parking: * Public lot right next door and street parking. This is one of my favorite Coffee shops. It's got bunches of charm and small town feel and is one of my favorite places to go for a good coffee and to get some work done. I just wish there was more of it.. larger, more seating, more power outlets, etc. But the ownership does an amazing job with what the have. the sidewalk expansion helped alot too! Great coffee that is reasonably priced and a small, but nice selection of pastries. The atmosphere is very nice with soft music and the staff were quite friendly. Seems to be a popular place for students to hang out. All in all it's a very nice place to sit and enjoy a book and a cup of coffee. read more

Filled to the brim with hipsters. And mo-ped driving men hitting on younger girls. Coffee is okay, staff is nice enough. But this coffee shop was better when it first opened. They might as well be selling pabst blue ribbon and tickets to the next twilight movie. read more

Very convenient place for meetings. Free Wi-Fi and great coffee. Can be a bit noisy. They have an upstairs, when not being used for groups, for more of a quiet settings. Lots of wonderful local artwork and crafts also. read more

Good place to do work! Always full of 20-somethings but its quiet enough to get some work or reading done.
