First, the location is great, plenty of parking. It's the perfect size, cozy yet spacious. There was a nice crowd of people when I arrived, but I wasn't in line too long. I asked a couple of questions about the pastries and then decided to order their seasonal Autumn Moon Latte w/ Oat Milk and a Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffin!!! While I waited, I sat in one of the very comfy big leather chairs near the front at the fireplace. There are several tables throughout as well. It was love at first sip!!! It literally tasted like a beautiful fall day. The muffin was so fresh and delicious. The service was great might I add. I'll definitely be back soon. read more

I had a craving for a matcha latte and so I picked the nearest place in the area and this place didn't disappoint! I was a bit thrown off by the overhead sign that read "Oak Roasted Coffee", but looking below on the door I saw Summer Moon Coffee. I walked in and I wouldn't have pictured this place the way it was set up in my mind, it wasn't your average coffee shop. It was chic, stylish, and modern and gave home decor, which I loved. The guy that helped me with my order was very patient and pleasant as I asked him for his recommendation on how to order a semi sweet matcha latte. I really enjoyed my visit to summer moon coffee. The ambiance is very much cozy coffee shop but also bright and inviting. You can sit by the fireplace and read, listen to music or catch up with a friend or you can sit by the windows and be a bit more lively. I was a tad bit confused about ordering and what the moon lattes were but the barista really helped to explain things to me, as a first time visitor it would have been great to have something that really broke that down a bit more so I could order the best drink for me, but I "researched" on tik tok and left with a delicious coffee! read more

This coffee spot is a cute shop! I really love the atmosphere here. Summer Moon Coffee is welcoming and provides great service. I got their iced Summer Moon latte. I wanted to love you so bad!!! The name alone is nostalgic. Not a good first experience. Let me give you the good news first. Plenty of parking. Nice ambiance and new store smell. Clean and plenty of great seating. Nice decor and friendly staff who were willing to explain all the "moon" language to me. There you have it. Notice I didn't mention coffee. The bad news. If you're a newbie, the menu is very confusing and you have to ask a lot of questions about the names of the drinks. " half moon, quarter moon" etc. I spent 7 minutes asking questions and letting everyone go ahead of me because I didn't understand the drinks. The server was very patient and tried to explain it all to me. The moon is a play on milk, but it is confusing as to what you are getting. Maybe a description under the name would help. Next they had the highest calorie drinks I've ever seen in a coffee shop. I mean everything was about 500+ calories. Of course you can adjust. For taste but calorie counts were super high imo. Next the coffee was just not good. I ordered a toasted s'mores latte. (Sounds delicious right? Well it tasted like chocolate milk. That's it. No notes of coffee or marshmallow. And the ice melted before I got home (25 minutes). My niece enjoyed her drink (strawberry latte, I believe) but she said she didn't taste much strawberry and again the coffee was weak. For $7 and $8 coffee houses have to do better. I expect to taste coffee in a coffee drink. I'll give it one more try if I'm in the area because baristas matter. But if a second time is a no go, then I won't return. read more

I'm a regular at this coffee shop so it's clearly one of my favorites. Every time you walk in they make a point to say hello before you even get to the register. The workers also make a point to remember my name and my order. I bring my laptop and work at the tables. It's such a warm and inviting coffee shop. There's even a fireplace. My go-to order is a chai tea latte and it's my favorite. I don't live super close but I make the trip for it. This place is my second office. I love it. As a Seattle-ite, We love a good strong cup of coffee, and have been enjoying finding the local companies and cafes around to break free from "- buks" We informed the young lady we have never been here before and were unaware of how the ordering goes. She did not help up figure out the menu at all. Just stared us down waiting for us to order. We finally order and the coffees were a bit too sweet and too strong. Tasting almost burnt. After getting our coffee we thought it was a nice place to sit for a bit but found the staff and patrons to be a bit awkward and a tad uncomfortable with our presence . Really got the air that they didn't want "US" in there. (And if I'm honest as I frequent the area for Italian ice next door. I never see "US" in there). So we took our coffee and pastries and left. Stopped here on our way home after watching our granddaughter play three soccer games in Wake Forest. I have to honestly say that Summer Moon Coffee is the best coffee I have ever had! This was my first visit and it definitely won't be the last. The cafe is cute and welcoming, decorated with the warmth of rustic and mixed with a little bit of "grandma's southern kitchen" charm. The deep-blue walls, leather chairs, glowing fireplace, and bright tiled walls give a sense of comfort and happiness. The staff were all friendly and very quick making the coffee. I ordered the S'more's Latte (iced) and it was the smoothest and most decadent coffee I've ever had without being too sweet. It was perfectly made and I savored every sip. I would absolutely buy their ground coffee to be able to enjoy the wood-fired flavor every morning and I will be back in the cafe for more. I'm not a coffee guy but my wife is a big fan. Tried out this new-ish spot in a bustling strip mall in WF. The vibe is Starbucks-esque as are the prices. My strawberry refresher was just that... Strawberry syrup and lemonade. It's sweet! Iced Chai with a shot of espresso is an eye-opener. I'm told it was delicious. Not my cup of tea. (Haha - see what I did there?) Cool place... Convenient. Although the place was busy, the line moved faster than anticipated. I ordered an iced matcha latte made with oat milk and a chocolate croissant. The employees were all friendly and they fulfilled orders quickly. My order was ready soon after placing it. The matcha latte was room temp, but delicious. It had a medium strength matcha flavor. The chocolate croissant was good, but definitely needed to be warmed up. The chocolate inside had hardened. I took my order to-go, however, they have indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu is a little pricy. The interior is nice, modern, and bright. Overall, I had a good experience here and recommend it to others! read more

I was surprised how few things were open in this part of the shopping center and was a bit thrown off the signage was Oak Roasters and not Summer Moon. Lovely place and it was bustling on a Saturday morning. I ordered a basic latte and was a bit surprised at how expensive it was even compared to other locally owned shops. It was a great latte, but not sure it was worth the extra especially since I wasn't staying to enjoy the cozy environment. I absolutely love coming to Summer Moon! You get a premium drink with first class service all the way! The staff and owners are very welcoming and kind, it makes you feel right at home! My favorite drink is the Espresso Milkshake, you can't go wrong with that! The atmosphere is great, I'm a fan of the art deco design and the internet is pretty fast too which makes it great for me to work on Lightroom photo edits while enjoying a drink. The price is on point as well for the quality of what you get, it's going to taste better than something like a Starbucks which is always burnt and never tastes quite right to me. My usual to go place is Jubala but because it's a drive from Wake Forest I decided to give this new coffee house a try. It was so beautifully done and decorated to perfection and their own sweet cream is a great way to stand out from other coffee spots in town. I ordered the Iced Blue Moon Latte which was nicely done and refreshing. The employee taking the order was really pleasant and since it was my first time in she really did a nice job explaining the menu. The only thing I would say is that there is not much seating. It might be better to have smaller tables to allow more people to sit as some people stay longer. Other than that, this is going to be one of my go tos from now on. Tried this coffee shop today of all days, during the big thunderstorm. It didn't have enough sitting area, so we had to run back to our car during the storm. Perhaps if people didn't take up a 6-person table for their party of 2...we ordered a cold brew and a hot mocha moon latte with the pecan croissant and cinnamon pull. Love this much needed new coffee shop in Wake Forest. The interior is very cozy when you walk-in. Love how they Oak Roast their coffee and adds their "Moon Milk" sweet cream. We loved their Half Moon Lattes and their pastries. I got the Winter Moon Latte and my friend got the Summer Moon Latte and both were great. Def a must try for coffee if you're in WF. Following the initial review, I did have the opportunity to speak with the owner regarding the concerns from our first visit. The owner was kind, understanding and seems genuinely concerned with wanting to provide a great quality of service at this shop. It does sound as if they are truly working hard to address concerns and to correct them. I feel this goes a long way. I give the place 5 stars for a gracious staff and clean well lighted place. Great for work with WiFi and outlets at each table. But - I am done with places that charge $1 for substituting oat milk for regular milk. No, no, no, the oat milk is not that much more expensive. I've priced high quality barista endorsed oat milk bought in bulk. It works out to costing at most (did I mention AT MOST) $2.00 per half gallon more than milk. So 2 cappuccinos to cover the full cost of a half gallon price difference? As a coffee snob, and I admit to being snobbier than most - I didn't love the coffee here, and I miss real cups. read more

The interior is very cute and modern and as much as I wanted to love this shop, I think I'm too much of a coffee snob I tried the smallest amount they offered of their creamer in my coffee and it was sickly sweet to the point that I couldn't drink it. Great if you like syrupy Starbucks type coffee, but not for my taste. Everyone has been friendly and wonderful so I do give 3 stars for that but as far as the coffee goes, I'm not a fan. Best coffee in the Raleigh area. We've tried dozens of places, and this is our go to. We moved from Phoenix and it's been hard to find what we like. If you're into solid, regular espresso this should fit the bill. We don't enjoy citrusy espresso, so this has been a welcome coffee shop. Definitely recommend. read more
