While I can appreciate them being open on a holiday, I found the whole experience to be disappointing, especially with all the hype surrounding this spot. The burritos themselves are oddly small (especially considering the price) and just kinda there. I ordered extra hot sauces (which was a weird hassle to get correct when ordering) and they forgot them anyway. I also ordered a bagel but there is an extremely lame two bagel minimum and of course a two cream cheese minimum as well. Two small burritos and two bagels should not cost over $60 on this planet. I wish Yelp allowed for half stars because I would give Wake and Late 4.5/5 if possible. I have been to this spot twice since the recent opening and I must say the food is absolutely delicious. Breakfast burritos are in my top ten favorite foods of all time, and the burritos here based on flavor/ taste alone are 1000/10. So far I have tried the Steak, Bacon, and Vegetarian with tofu scramble added, and none of them have disappointed. I also was absolutely stoked to find out that they have a gluten-free tortilla option. It is very uncommon in my experience to find any burritos that are GF let alone a breakfast burrito. The sauces are also unreal. The chipotle aioli is my all-time favorite. I have yet to try their coffee or recently added bagels, but I look forward to trying them both soon. The service has been pleasant and kind each time as well. We did have a minor order mistake the first time, and the staff went above and beyond to rectify it, which was greatly appreciated. The reason I didn't give this spot a perfect score has nothing to do with taste or service. My one complaint is that like others have mentioned this spot is a bit expensive for a breakfast burrito. The burritos on the menu range from $13-17.5. Ex) A bacon burrito is $16.5, which is just really steep. If you are gluten-free expect to pay an additional $2.75 for the substitution as well. Paying essentially $20 for a single burrito is really a lot, and like others have also said it is on the smaller side compared to other breakfast burritos. However, I am still PLENTY full after eating it, and I will say the quality of the ingredients used are incredibly good. In that sense, I understand why it is more expensive, but it is almost triple the cost compared to other local spots that serve up equally delicious burritos. Just the best breakfast burrito I've had anywhere! So flavorful! The eggs are perfectly cooked, the bacon is crisp, as are the tots, which are a nice texture contrast to the egg and avocado. And nothing is under seasoned. My main complaint is that the staff could definitely be friendlier. Feels like one of those situations where they are so busy and successful that they don't emphasize great customer service but they really should. You don't feel welcome at all but you almost forget about it when you hire the burrito. The spicy aioli it comes with was too heavy for me. Their other salsa is better but ultimately unimpressive compared to other places. Coffee was fine but not great. Service was good and friendly, but it really doesn't matter does it? Don't waste your money here, go to Lucky Boy or a real Mexican restaurant or something.
