Just not the same as it use be. I've been a Wahoo fan since they opened In Costa Mesa and this store was one of my favorite. Today the Bonsai burrito was soggy from excessive bean juice and the fish was not the same. Maybe over cooked or different type. As a former restaurant owner I know they have bad days so I'll try one more time. Just wondering if the company is still under the control of the founders. Lots of restaurants get big and hire a CEO who cuts corners and make changes to what made the restaurant so great in the first place. read more

I went here to pick up lunch for myself and 2 co -workers. My order was fairly simple; chicken quesadillas, burrito, and loaded nachos. I didn't realize until I got back to work that I received, and was charged for 2 orders of nachos. It wasn't a big deal, but all the same, I didn't want them and certainly didn't want to pay for them. I called the restaurant and the guy on the phone acted as if it were my fault and, after being on the phone for entirely too long for such a minor issue, told me I could drive all the way back over there for a $5 gift card that wouldn't even cover the cost of the nachos. I came here a few minutes before closing (I called ahead of time to make sure they would be open) and the girl behind the counter was very nice by allowing me to go in and eat inside even after closing time. It took a while (I am guessing they had already cleaned up) to get the food out, but I was expecting a wait. One thing that I thought was weird was that they didn't have salsa (hmmm???) but only pico de galo, which I am not a big fan of. The taco itself was pretty good, but a bit flavorless. A lot of the fish was burnt, but that's what you get when you get grilled fish tacos! I prefer Rubio's, but I will come back to try something else! read more

If you're in Temecula and looking for a place to eat that is vegan friendly and also has meat for your carnivore friends this is a good option. They can replace the meat with some yummy teriyaki flavored tofu or you can choose from their vegetable based dishes. The fries are pretty good too. I eat mine with a side of guacamole. Both of their bean selections are vegan as well as their rice. My vegetarian husband likes the tofu tacos with cajun beans and white rice with a side of their green sauce. The tofu tacos can be made vegan, just ask for no cheese. read more

I love this place. The menu can be a little confusing but the food is great and it is a waaay healthier choice. The kids love the stickers all over the place, makes it seem "HIP". One day my 4 year old came out of the bathroom and said, "Mom there's even a sticker in the toilet!" LOL If you're looking for someplace quiet and fancy, this is probably not the right spot for you. But if you don't mind "Beach Bum" atmosphere, this is the place for you. It's clean and not too pricey. read more

Another amazing "fast food" Mexican restaurant, and one that does great fish tacos to boot. The basically offer everything on their menu in a spicy version which was great. I got the taco and enchilada combo for only $6.50. But to be honest with you, they give you so much food that really only 1 item is plenty. I tried the fish bowl and everything was great. Good seasoning in everything. What most impressed me though was the service. The server explained everything to us and made great suggestions. The person who brought the food out was very friendly and helpful also. Let's face it, you don't go to these type places for gourmet food. Went to Wahoos and can actually say one of the worst places I have tried in my life!!! My husband and I went there for the first time and since we have never eaten there tried a few different things... he had a fish taco and a carnitas taco and I had a blackened chicken burrito covered in the green sauce. First of all the lettuce tasted like dirt (no joke) and the green sauce covering my burrito was horrid!!! I sent it back requesting a carnitas burrito but they wouldnt change my burrito only remake me a chicken burrito with no sauce. The fish was awful and the carnitas had no flavor (but I have to say was the best thing that we ate) and about the rice no flavor what so ever just plain white rice (and thats there best side) so overall worst place to eat unless of course you like the taste of dirt.. read more

The sign on the door said wait time 5 minutes, and it was just that! I went here with my wife for the first time and we were blown away by how good the food tasted! My wife ordered the enchiladas and the green sauce on them was AWESOME! I had the shredded meat with white rice and cajun beans....five star! This place is the one, much better than any other fish taco place. I used to like Rubios and the others but they have lost it IMO, this place hasn't, it's great I love the Cajun beans, the fish tacos, the wahoo bowls everything (except the black ice tea, see previous posters comments). I've going to this chain for about 25 years, and always used to get fish tacos with rice and beans, which is really good, fresh taste. The last two times here in Temecula I've gottebn their fish sandwich (Torta) and it is spectacular. They know what they're doing. Great job guys. read more

Wahoo's Temecula is without a doubt one of my favorite places for cost effective healthy grinds. However, since I'm busy and utilize take out most of the time, I find one thing that seems to have disrupted the process on the drive home. The take out container Wahoo's uses is a three slot format, with the largest slot for the entree and the 2 smaller slots used for the rice and beans. My problem stems from the last couple of times I got the take out and was driving home. Ironically on two separate occasions I had a vehicle cut me off and suddenly had to brake, which inturn forced the container forward and off the seat. When I arrived home and opened the container the rice and beans were strewn about. Don't get me wrong, the food was still excellent but it would of been more satisfying if the beans / rice were intact and not all over the container. On some of the passed occasions I was pleasantly surprised to see that the items in question were in containers with lids, which I hope now can be the norm for every one of my orders going forward, because I hate to be the bearer of food spattered about due to the negligence of drivers who are in rush to get somewhere and it sure starts my meal in a negative manner when I arrive home. The solution (containers with lids for the rice/ beans) doesn't seem like too much to ask, does it? read more

If you are looking for a variation to Mexican food, look no further. Then menu has a great variety-great flavor too. My favorite is the Kale salad-with Wahoo. The portion size was decent for the price and service was pretty fast. This is my first time eating here and I was not impressed to say the least. I've eaten at many other fish taco shops and this one just didn't compare. I got the grilled fish taco burrito meal; which included beans and rice. They must have forgotten to put the flavor in mine because there was none. The fish in the burrito was bland, and the beans and rice were also. I don't know if you have to add salsa or sauce for the flavor but I wasn't offered any. read more

Great food! I've had the fish tacos with citrus slaw, the kale kai salad, and the chicken tortilla soup. All were delicious!
