Ate lunch at Lola's Birria and grabbed their lunch special, birria ramen + birria taco, and let me just say... my lunch was having a whole identity crisis because it couldn't decide whether it wanted to be taco or ramen... let's have both!! They start you off with chips and both red & green salsa, and thankfully, BOTH were delightful. No sad, watery salsa situation happening here! The birria ramen came in a small soup bowl, but don't let the size fool you. That broth was packed with that rich, savory birria goodness. The birria taco was generously stuffed with meat and came with its own little container of consomé for dipping. Because apparently one can never have too much birria juice. The lunch special also comes with rice, beans, cilantro and onion, making this a pretty satisfying meal for less than $15. That's a lunch deal I can get behind! And the birria itself had what I look for: tender, juicy, slow-cooked beef with a deep, savory, slightly spicy and mildly smoky chile flavor. It should taste rich and beefy, with the spices complementing the meat rather than overpowering it, and the consomé should be flavorful enough that you'll want to drink it straight from the cup. BONUS POINTS: They don't use lard in the beans! As someone who appreciates knowing what's lurking in my side dishes, I definitely appreciate this. Overall, I liked it! I really dislike posting negative reviews, especially for small businesses. I however feel obligated to inform people of the experience to save their precious time and money. Today my family and I wanted birria for lunch and so we ordered Lola's birria to-go. We ordered Lola's fries with birria on top and the combo ramen with 2 queso birria tacos. The fries alone were $18.85 with taxes it rounds up to almost $20 and they were incredibly disappointing. The fries were cold and tasted like they came out of a freezer bag, and the portion was upsetting to say the least. It's expensive to eat out as is but when the food is awful and expensive it really is frustrating. My ramen noodles seemed like it was just cheap spaghetti noodles used . The food quality is very cheap, the portion is small and the bill is very high. I will add the birria itself was okay but nothing out of the ordinary. I hope this helps someone. read more

So there I was, leaving Amazon Fresh when my attention was drawn directly across the parking lot to a woman raising a tall promotional banner stating "TAMALES", in front of Lola's Birria. I was hungry and instantly remembered it was tamale season, so I stowed my groceries in my truck (an XLT by the way) and walked over. The woman who tended to me was very nice and professional, and turned out to be the owner. I ordered two Birria tamales, with a side of rice and beans, and what she served me was simply glorious! The tamales were already unwrapped and had been given a nice cheese sear. Like a queso-Birria taco, if you know what that is. It was a delicious and filling dining experience, which moved me to prepare this review. Food, service, and ambiance were all on point. I look forward to going back to explore other tamale varieties. I love Mexican food but am still learning about the traditional dishes. Today, I asked our waitress if their menudo had regular beef meat inside alongside the tripe. Our waitress was wonderful and kindly offered to add carne asada on the side.Unfortunately, another woman (who appeared to be the manager or owner) interrupted us and condescendingly asked, "Have you ever had menudo before? Have you ever seen it with beef inside? I guess not."It was a very rude and unnecessary interaction. I appreciated the waitress trying to help me, but the manager's attitude ruined our lunch experience. They need to learn how to explain their menu to customers without being disrespectful. Started with chips and salsa , they offer happy hour $5 margs why not and even $5 micheladas what a steal! After a spa day in Murrieta, this was the best choice I made to ordered some birria sliders. What can I say? It was super delicious! The meat was so tenderized melting in your mouth. Its been cold and rainy. I wanted pazole Verde and you know what, this place makes some bomb soup. We've never had/been here and I noticed it by accident while across the street. The dining area was very clean and the music was a nice beat to sit to. Service was great! No complaints at all. Horchata came with some garnish and it pleasantly made it that much more enjoyable. I have had my eye on this place for a while. My husband and I finally stopped in today to pick up lunch. The restaurant is small but cozy and well lit. We were greeted and ordered our food. We ordered the sliders (new menu item), shrimp tacos, Baria Goat Bowl and a Churro Sundae. While we waited, we were served a lime and cucumber water which was delicious!! Everything we ordered was delicious. The sliders were filled with flavor, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The shrimp tacos were tasty and well made. I was only able to eat one and saved the second for another meal. Had my eye on this place for several months and finally took the plunge! Ordered the 3 Queso Birria Taco Plate with Rice and Beans, and a Tostada with Chicken for take out (smile)! Upon arriving home, I noticed that the meal was well packaged and the food was quite visually appealing, with the acception of the amount of cilantro, chopped onion, and radish, lime wedges; which was not enough for one taco, and I purchased three. In to the airfryer went the tacos , to crisp them up, but not before inserting additional monterey jack cheese, and getting additional condiments from my pantry and fridge. The Tostada was of typical quality, and reasonable size. The Birria tacos were delicious and the accompanying consome was delicious too! Next time I should spending the additional $3 for extra cheese, but I am contemplating a dine-in experience to see if there is an improvement on presentation and portions. I will give the place another try because the Birria is one of the best I have tasted, and I want to sample additional items on the menu. read more
