My fiancé and I came here a couple weeks ago while we were on our way to Temecula for the day. We saw Lola's Birria off of Yelp and decided to try it. We ordered the birria tacos, potato taquitos and a crispy fish taco. Everything was really good! The potato taquitos come with guacamole and when eaten together it blends together nicely. The birria tacos are really flavorful. Make sure to add the onions and cilantro to the inside of the taco before dipping into the sauce and taking your first bite! Lola's gives complimentary chips and salsa when you dine in. I ate pretty much all of it by myself and wish I got more, but I needed to save space for my food. My first and only visit to Lola's Birria was 6 months ago. I am just now writing this review after texting a Yelp friend about birria joints in the area...and am reminded of the reasons WHY I never got to writing one til now. I don't like giving low ratings, but I'm always 100% honest with my reviews, so here it goes, as gracefully tactful as I can be... It was a new place I'd seen on the good ole Gram, and me being me, I went with a friend to sample it to try and support this new local small business. At the time of our visit, I clearly remember the ratings were lower than what they are now, most being 2 or 3 stars. One that sticks out in my mind was the one talking about the 2 quesabirria tacos that came with birria ramen. The guy who wrote it said the ramen was a joke and that it barely had 3 bites of noods in it. Homie was correct. My friend ordered it and he's a tall guy with an appetite to match. After he scarfed it down, he was left still hangered. =/ He said it just tasted ok. I ordered the 2 quesabirria that came with rice, beans and the consome (I spell it whichever way it's spelled in their menu, lol). My honest opinion: it was aight. Not even aiiiiiiight, just aight. The tacos were lacking in presentation and flavor for me. At first glance, it looks like only meat is inside. Open it up or bite into it and you'll see the cheese. The "other stuff" that any birria lover appreciates is not already tucked into each taco. The cilantro, onions, radish and lime come "on the side," which baffles me. Not sure about you, but when I want quesabirria, I WANT it and I want to just pick them up and munch away. I do NOT want to have to open them up and put them together. I didn't eat the rice or beans but they do give a decent amount. The flavor factor was not there. The meat just tasted like barely seasoned meat. Even after dipping into the consome...which btw looked and tasted more like a broth to me. The color was not as dark as I've had it at every other birria place I've been to, and it totally missed the mark! I did get a tidbit of the ramen and it was basically ramen in the broth-like consome, with a lump of meat in it. Had to fluff up the lump of meat with a fork to evenly distribute it with the small amount of noods. I do think the prices here are high for what you get. 2 quesabirria tacos with the tiny serving of ramen for $15.95 (I think it was a "lunch special" at the time)...and the 2 quesabirria with rice and beans for $11.95...I double dog dare you to try Rodimiro's, SoCal Tacos & Beer (both also in Murrieta) or Michi Tacos, currently in Lake Elsinore or their upcoming location in Menifee. Also see my review for Mr. Birria in Santee (my first birria experience). Pretty sure those places give you 3 for the same price, maybe a buck or two more, but completely worth it! You won't have to put them together, just dig right in!! Service was slow, even with the restaurant having only one or two other parties while we dined. The lady was nice, but we didn't get our waters refilled and had to flag her down at least 2 times. Parking is not a problem, and you'll find it across the newly opened Amazon Fresh. Two stars for the effort, complimentary salsa and chips on arrival and a clean dining space. Will I come again? Mayyyyyybe...if and when I do, I hope my experience is better because it seems like things have changed since December 2021. Either that or maybe the 4 and 5 star raters haven't tried those other 3 places I mentioned. We shall see... Oh and after eating here, my friend and I crossed over the freeway and went to Rodimiro's to share an order of their quesabirria...(insert monkey emoji covering eyes here) lol! read more

A co-worker of mine kept trying this place so I wanted to see if it was worth the hype since there's not too many birria places in this area First off, I love their chips and salsa... beware that the salsa is spicy, but man it had great flavor. I ordered the lunch special flautas with goat for $4 more and she got the quesabirria tacos and we shared them... personally I like my flautas a little more golden crispy and flakey... but these weren't terrible. Bowl of Birria was bland and had no seasonings. The beef birria tasted bland and had the texture and similar taste of unseasoned ropa vieja. The meat you could tell was reheated multiple times and possibly watered down. Take that as an example as someone who comes from Sinaloa Mexico who has tried some bomb Birria. It's really sad that the restaurant is named Lola's Birria and no attention is made to make it tasty. Also a little hint of cilantro and lime are provided. A true birria place will offer chopped cabbage, onion as well cilantro, lime and oregano for taste. The review would've been 3 stars but I rated it 1 star because I didn't tip because of the poor service. The woman had absolutely no energy to attend us and was hiding in the back the whole time. BUT what truly infuriated me was that she had changed the tip on her screen after I selected and signed. The same woman rapidly turned the screen to her and tapped repeatedly and then I noticed an improper charge than what she had told me was made to my card. Thankfully a quick text to Apple and they're already disputing the charge. I wouldn't have minded leaving a tip if the service was at the very least good. My mom and I have been waiting to check this place out due to so many positive reviews. We ended up coming in a little late after shopping one day. We were greeted by Josh in the front, super nice employee. We were seated right away and brought over some chips and salsa. It was slightly cold inside due to the front door being wide open. We looked over the menu and waited for the sever to come take our order. She passed us over multiple times without acknowledging us. We proceeded to wait a little longer but she never came to take our order. I informed Josh in the front that we could place a to go order instead because it was 830pm and I guess the restaurant closes at 9pm. Josh quickly took our order and ended up getting our food for us. Thank you!!! The food was really delicious! It instantly changed our mood. Josh ensured us that we could enjoy our food without worrying. Very much appreciated. Visited this place on a trip to So.Cal & it was soooo good. I went in with a huge party (of about 10) people & the service was great! The workers were super nice & attentive. The food was awesome too, they had a pretty big variety of birria plates, I couldn't decide what I wanted! I ended up getting an horchata & a torta birria & they were both soo good. Ordered the potato taquitos as a starter. Crispy and flavorful. Definitely recommend giving them a try. Ordered the birria ramen and tacos combo. The ramen is a small order. Good amount of meat. Food was great I ordered a quesa birria taco, fish taco, and shrimp taco. Only suggestion for my shrimp and fish taco wish it would have come with a bit more of the creamy sauce. I felt it was a little dry. My husband had Machaca birria and queso fundido. He enjoyed both. My girls shared a quesadilla it was pretty large and it came with fresh rice and beans. They too enjoyed eating here. They kept complimenting the restaurant decor. Service was excellent! My friend and I had lunch in Lola's Birria today. It was a very nice experience. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated, The dining room is spacious and comfortable. Lola helped us with the menu and chips/salsa. She's an extremely hard working entrepreneur. The menu is complete, featuring Birria prepared meats. I noticed she offers goat in several preparations. We enjoyed our lunch and the prices are very reasonable. Lola's is easy to locate, across the parking lot from Amazon Fresh in Murrieta. We recommend Lola's and we will visit again. So I discovered this restaurant because I was trying to find a vegetarian friendly Mexican restaurant. I called around to the regular spots but had no luck. I'm so thankful to have found this restaurant! The gal that answered the phone that day explained they do not use lard in their beans or animal stock in their rice and she said they have dishes for vegetarians. As soon as we arrived and said we had a vegetarian in our party, our server recommended the potato taquitos. My daughter absolutely loved the taquitos. We all loved our dishes.
