Tuesday, 2-11-2025: My dear friend treated me here in celebration of my retirement. My daughter joined us later. We enjoyed the warm hospitality and the delicious food here. Lucy came over to check on us several times. She is so sweet & friendly. My friend has frequented this eatery for a while but it was a first time for me and my daughter. I love the decor and murals. It's so colorful, cozy, and very clean. We all enjoyed the meals and my friend was not exaggerating! I ordered the Chile Relleno and it was amazing! We love to support small businesses and cannot wait to return here with the entire family!

I went to lunch today with my uncle and I told him that I want some good Mexican food. He said "Say no more" and brought me to Casa de Lucy. Right as we walked through the door, I knew that it would be some good food. We sat down and they were attentive right away. In California, it's hard to find a good salsa and they have one here. I'm used to a red salsa like Arizona and most places in California have pico style. My uncle has only eaten one thing at this restaurant and it's the Green Chili Plate. The portions here are large and the plates are hot. He says this is the best Green Chili in San Diego and he ate the whole thing. I decided to order the Chicharonnes Plate because it's a delicacy and something you can't find anywhere. The Chicharonnes were smothered in a spicy red sauce. I mixed it together with the beans, rice, salsa and slapped it into a flour tortilla. Near one of the best I've ever had. The service and staff here is very attentive, the food is amazing, and it has that little Mexican food charm. It's the type of atmosphere that you know the food will be good right as you walk on in. If you haven't been here, you need to visit. My rating is a 9.5/10.

Amazing food, warm staff with excellent service. You won't find better food for the price anywhere in the region. The portions were huge and everything was made with love using fresh ingredients. I was shocked at how fast everything was ready given how good the food was. I felt like I was sitting in my Tia's kitchen, eating lunch with family. I will definitely be back.

Great food and great service. Nice little Mexican Food place in Temecula. The asada tacos was really full of tender asada that was flavorful and not chewy or fatty. Hubby enjoyed the ground beef tacos very much. The rice and beans tasted fresh and we're even better with salsa added on top, yum! The free chips and salsa that were served while waiting for our meal were also good, especially the salsa. Not too hot, but very tasty.

This place is impeccably clean. It's a hole in the wall in the sense that it's in a strip mall, but the restaurant is well done on the inside. The decor is very cute and so clean. Lucy was working when we got there! The food was delicious! It's hard to come by well cooked Mexican food in Temecula and this is now our go to spot. The service was quick and friendly. We got the albondigas, a wet burrito, and a combination plate. The rice and beans here are the bees knees. Also, perfect joint for a michelada when you're hungover

    Beautiful and comfortable interior.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in a nondescript strip mall. Beautiful, yet cozy and homey interior. Nice quiet music was playing. Custom framed art lined the walls that is for sale. Vickie, our server was friendly and made sure our glasses were never empty. The chips were warm and perfectly salted. The salsa that accompanied the chips was some of best fire roasted salsa I've had. Growing up in So Cal, we have a lot of good Mexican food. Casa de Lucy is a notch above most. We had Chile Verde con Carnitas, Chicken Tacos and Carne Asada Sopes. The sides of rice, beans and guacamole were also tasty. Everything we ate was some of the best home made Mexican cooking, just like my mom used to make. No can openers or microwaves here! The real treat was the Flan. It was denser and creamier than any Flan I've ever had. It was decadent!

We brought family here who hadn't tried this place. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The only complaint was that the lengua still had the skin on it, but they ate around it and was tasty. Authentic Mexican food. Easy parking, no wait. Thumbs up!

Food is too greasy and lacks authentic flavor. Anything smothered in melty cheese & sour cream is a sign of bad Mexican food.

I got the tamale plate which comes with generous sides of rice and beans...I would have preferred more tamale for my tamale plate. The rice was dry and gritty but paired decent with the very mushy beans. The tamale was a bit bland as well. I did enjoy the chips and freshly made salsa though that comes free with the entree. There are no single menu items like you can't order just one taco or one tamale by itself without getting a whole platter of other things. The server was friendly and didn't rush us even past 10pm.

With that being said, parking can be difficult because Old Town tends to get very busy on a Saturday. We walked in and it was not busy. The host/server told us to pick any table we would like. We chose outside, but they had just cleaned up the area, so our chairs were stacked. The host/server quickly helped us get the chairs down and place them at our table. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

I really enjoyed the festive, patriotic decor and all the lights, albeit the mannequins were a little creepy. We got in early and beat the crowd, luckily for us as it seemed there was only one server covering all the tables in the dining room. The bus boy had a really bad attitude, not friendly or welcoming at all which was a turn off. Kind of just slamming stuff around and wouldn't even respond when we told him thank you each time he stopped by to pick something up off our table. The margarita flight was just ok, we only really enjoyed 2 out of 4, the carnitas was very dry, as was the carne asada. My husband's burrito was 75% refried beans, the rice tasted funky, my albondigas was 90% celery but still had a good flavor. The highlight of the meal was actually the homemade corn tortillas, sadly. Not a great first experience even though we were in before it got busy. Our service was decent, he only became really friendly after I left a big tip which I found a little insulting. All in all, a very average and underwhelming experience, probably wouldn't be back, nothing made it stand out or special for us and it was our 20 year anniversary.
