I recently stopped here to eat while shopping at the Prudential Center. I could tell it was busy but I was seated very quickly. All the servers were very nice and attentive. I enjoyed the duck gyoza and steak bulgogi. I'm sure all the menu options are great. Also had a nice sake cocktail. Highly recommended. read more

This place is so lovely. I got a beautifully decorated bowl of ramen, and bang bang cauliflower. Denisse, our server was super great, very welcoming. All of the staff are wonderful. I'd definitely stop by when you have the chance! read more

I eat at or order delivery from here at least eight times per day, partially because it's convenient, partially because I'm allergic to gluten, partially because it's a quick and easy option in my 'hood, and partially because I've yet to join a 12-step program for my addiction to Chicken Itame served over rice noodles. (For others who are allergic to gluten: Every time I have tried items here involving deep-fried tofu, I have reacted to them. The non-deep-fried tofu has gone fine though, so the miso soup with its little cubes of tofu is a-ok. I've asked about it, and the managers' answers tend to be somewhat vague regarding the order in which entrees are cooked and what oil things are cooked in, but my experiences with the fried tofu tell me that it's often done up in glutenated oil. The gluten-free versions of the Chicken Itame, Chicken Chili Men, Edamame, and Miso Soup have never given me issues here, however, so those are some of the foods I can confidently recommend to those of you who are gluten-free.) read more

Let me start by saying you shouldn't come here expecting high quality Asian food- it's a wagamamas, you're not going to get authenticity. Ultimately, the food is pretty mediocre, at least for someone who enjoys a lot of Asian cuisine such as myself. But the atmosphere is nice and there are lots of vegan options which is cool. read more

Overpriced and mostly unmemorable food served in an upscale cafeteria-type atmosphere accompanied by slow, laid-back service. I appreciate that the food seems to be relatively non-greasy for fast Asian food, but wish the flavors were stronger and more authentic. On my most recent visit, my shrimp were overcooked--a pity in a town that can do great seafood. For a ramen soup with shrimp and an iced tea, I ended up paying $17. If I had paid a total of $10, I'd be giving Wagamama 3 stars right now, but this food was absolutely not the quality or quantity to justify its price. Whether you're dining in or taking out, and whether Wagamama is crowded or not, expect to wait for your food. read more

Funny how every location of Wagamama on Yelp has the average three star rating. I was really excited to finally try this place since they used to plaster all of the ad spaces on the T with pictures of their big ramen and noodle bowls. But after trying it, I wasn't really sure what the hype was all about. I mean it is fine and they make everything fresh when you order it (minus once sauce which we asked about not having something in it, but I guess that was the one sauce that isn't made fresh ha), but it isn't anything spectacular, just another average noodle place. I got the chicken chili ramen which was listed as a spicy soup but I, per usual in Boston, had to add more hot oil and chilis to my ramen to make it actually spicy. The bowl was pretty big and more than left me full after--ramen noodles with grilled chicken, fresh chilies, red onion, bean sprouts, cilantro, sliced scallion and a wedge of lime. But I've had better ramen before, but it did all taste really fresh at least. Laura and Negin were pretty happy with their dishes and they were really accommodating to Laura when she asked for less salt in her sauce before they made it which is always nice. The service also was pretty spot on. They are very attentive here, even for this location basically being in a mall with a view of high end stores as your ambiance if you sit at the "outdoor" tables like we did. They write what you order on your paper placements which is clever, but they could save resources if they just use a whiteboard or something and not have to thrown away paper all the time. But just a thought! read more

I didn't expect great ramen or authentic Japanese food as this is a restaurant in the mall, and surely enough, it was okay. We got the karaage (chicken), spicy beef miso ramen and chicken curry katsu. The karaage for some reason was not deep fried...it tasted like it was baked. It was not what we expected and not bad, but not particularly good either. The beef in the ramen was plain and kind of overcooked. Not good! The broth was flavorful, but it was so spicy...the spiciness was too overpowering that we couldn't really enjoy the broth as much. There was a lot of toppings, but the lack of soft boiled egg was a bummer. The curry katsu was a big portion, and I really liked the salad/dressing. The curry was a bit plain but decent. Can't say I'll be back... it's mediocre at best. read more

I got a complimentary meal here for the grand opening of the Prudential Center location-- and if last night was any indication-- they are doing things right. I tried the fried shrimp as an appetizer and they were rather delicious. For my main meal I went with the chili beef ramen. It was spicy enough to clear out my sinuses, and the beef was cooked juuuuuust right. Our server was capable and attentive. The manager even came to our table to thank us for coming! Gotta love being treated like royalty. The atmosphere is great here with plasma tvs, open-air cooking area, and glass windows which provide a greater sense of space. Definitely check this place out if you're shopping around the Pru and need some noodles in yo belly. read more

I got ginger chicken udon and it was fantastic. The chicken was really fresh, and not dry at all like breasts usually are. The seasoning was just enough to not be unhealthy but strong enough to really get my taste buds going. I absolutely hate vegetables but I scarfed down a lot more than I usually because the flavor was so addicting. The five star rating is particularly because of the attention they give to customers with peanut allergy. My friend who was allergic to peanuts was asked numerous times for confirmation as well as having her selection checked by the manager. All in all, the food and customer service was great. Wish they refilled the tea and not just water though! read more

If your looking for the best ginger ales in all the world then wagamama is your place. So good they must use fresh ginger! I've been to wagamama three times and have probably consumed over 10 glasses of ginger ale... marvelous! Chicken teriyaki was good but nothing special... start with the dumplings and udon noodles. Boom... your welcome read more

I found the service to be better than what most describe. Yes that I can give you the feel of a noodle house. I thought the food was very tasty and flavorful with a reasonable price. This would be good for health-conscious individuals. Also a decent selection of Japanese beers, sake, and other assorted beverages, and the green tea is on the house :-) read more

Wonderful place for a big group of friends to come to on a Friday night. We were able to make reservations easily for 12 people and were seated all together on one loooong table. The atmosphere was loud and lively, perfect for a bunch of 20-somethings. The food wasn't unforgettable, but if you run on Asian time like some of my friends, you'll be eating dinner 1 hour later than your arrival time. My friend ordered the vegetarian curry and I had a bite of his piping hot panko crusted sweet potato. HOLY COW it was delicious. It made my ramen pale in comparison. I reminded myself that ramen probably has less calories than fried vegetables. Who knows. Our entrees came almost all at once, so no weird awkward waiting with stomach growling to fill in the silence. My seafood ramen was just OK. The broth wasn't anything fancy but portion size was fine. Noodles were chewy. The seafood was actually very flavorful, especially the grilled squid, but the swordfish was tough and dry. Most people seemed to like their dishes, but nobody was wowed. In the end, they split the bill into 3, so 4 people had a separate tab. It made paying much easier (and they automatically add 18% gratuity to your check if you have a party over 8 people). I liked that the waiter didn't give us attitude or hurry us to leave when we finished paying and were wrapping up our conversations. read more

I've been here a number of times over the past few years. I've always found the food to be fine but I'm never the one recommending to stop in. I've had their pad Thai and noodle dishes, as well as their spicy chicken ramen dish. Overall, I think the food is pretty consistent and fine for a meal. The chicken I had was pretty high quality and the broth was good. That said, it's missing that something extra that would keep me from suggesting to come here for a meal. If you're at the Pru and looking for a place to eat, I do think that it is a fine option. The service is relatively fast and there is a lot of seating so you can be sure to get a seat or not wait very long. read more

Decided to go on a Friday night after work with a friend. The place was dead. I'm a fan of the decor, and the way they write on the placemats reminded me of a Dim Sum restaurant. I thought it was hilarious that on the website they boast "outdoor" seating, when it reality it's sitting in the hallway of a mall. Our initial waitress was very upbeat and answered our questions without a problem. The second waiter that helped us was a bit slower and over-eager, and not as helpful. It took him 3 minutes to figure out how to say "no onion" on his little computer. We ordered the Ginger Peach Iced Tea which was unsweetened and very refreshing. I noticed they had a good selection of beers and sake, something for next time perhaps. The Tori Kara Age (deep-fried chicken pieces prepared with soy sauce, mirin, dried oregano, thyme and a fresh ginger marinade, served with a chili, garlic and soy sauce) was delicious and came quickly after we ordered, but we hardly had time to enjoy it because our main courses came too soon after the appetizer. For an entree I got the Ginger Chicken Udon and my friend got the Miso Beef Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly, tasted very good and the rest of the ingredients were fresh and blended nicely together. My friend was sweating from her dish being so spicy, but ate it all anyway. We were both so full from the noodles that we opted out of dessert. Generally a good experience, though I did feel rushed. I'd like to try the one in Fanueil Hall next time so we can actually eat outside. read more

Who knew that the first time visiting, would be my last. I think the dish was alright, spicy stir fry udon noodles. After dinner, during a performance/show, my stomach was hurting, like a painful burning sensation. I never visited a wagamama ever again. read more

Bottom line: Uninspired, utterly forgettable Asian fusion. I'm yet another person who heard good things about the Wagamama locations in London. I didn't get to eat at one while I was last over there, so I was pretty excited to find out there were a couple of Wagamama locations in the Boston area. My husband and I got different variations of the ramen and they were just lacking in flavor. A big disappointment, as I'm usually a fan of any kind of soup noodles- ramen, pho, khao soi, you name it, I'll slurp it. Polite staff and trendy presentation, but that doesn't make up for dull food! Asian fusion doesn't have to suck..if you're in this area and are jonesin' for that kind of food, take a walk over to Mass Ave and eat at Pho Basil (Thai, Vietnamese, and a heck of a lot better than Wagamama). read more

This place has pretty decent ramen - they give you a giant bowl and the spice is there. I got the crispy duck ramen - the duck was great but the broth lacked a bit of the flavor I wanted, but was still good. The noodles were cooked well and I could not finish my portion. Service was good, and its a nice place if you are really hungry. read more

Great service! Quick and friendly! MANY ODD AND GREAT CHOICES I ordered seaweed salad for 3.45$ ! and it was great. Chicken terriyaki ! which came with a salad. They order your food very strange, first they write it on your paper, and through a little device, at the end of the meal, their system crashed so they gave us the appetizers free, and only charged for the entres ! _ it was an okay would'nt go back as often. read more

I saw all these average reviews on yelp, but wanted to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt and make my own judgments. Turns out I thought it was pretty average too. Most dishes were a bit pricey and it's almost not worth it when you think about how you can get a better dish for either cheaper or the same price. I got the miso beef ramen for $12.95 and my friend got the Yasai Cha Han for $8.25 which is actually the cheapest dish on the menu. My friend said her dish was almost flavorless that she had to pour a lot of soy sauce on it to make it taste better. My ramen was more flavorful but was only able to satisfy my hunger temporarily. I wasn't too fond of the beef as it had this almost soapy taste reminiscent of bad lemongrass flavor. It didn't seem to fit in the ramen dish well. On the plus side, there was free Japanese green tea which was good. read more

Seriously, this is American food. This is American food. This is American food. Even if the waiter/waitress told you that all food from menu are Asian food, they are BS. There's not a single Asian chef in the kitchen, not to mention Japanese. I was born in Shanghai and lived there for over twenty years. I've lived with authentic Japanese food for over ten years. The noodle they called ramen, is 100% South China noodle. The chefs here are so negligent that they take undercooked as it should be. The noodle soup, I have no idea how they "invented" this. So terrible, and waste of time. If you wish to have some real Japanese cuisine, NEVER go there. If you're born in this country and just wanna try some exotic things, you are welcomed. read more

Tons of empty tables, if you don't come within the same minute they text you they give your table away. Got on the waitlist, texted I was on my way in the same minute I got the text my table way ready, got there a minute later and they said they gave our table away because we didn't come on time. Coincidentally a party of the same size that was standing right in front of us not on the waitlist was able to argue their way to get a table (most likely the table reserved for my party). Terrible customer service. I recommend going to the variety of ramen places near by. read more

Meh perfectly describes my experience at wagamama. I came here alone as I was traveling in Boston for work. They seated me by the "bar" where they make all of their fresh juices. Props for the fresh juices, but the smell was horrible. It really affected my meal here and was super overpowering. Pro tip - don't sit on that side of the restaurant! To start I ordered the pork belly and panko apple hirata steamed bun. It was okay, I've had better steamed buns in Madison. It only had a tiny slice of apple, I think if the apple and pork belly would have been more balanced I would have enjoyed it more. For my entree I had the kare lomen with chicken. It was also just meh. Kind of flavorless to be honest. Didn't hate it but definitely didn't love it either. My dessert was the star of the meal. The banana katsu was really delicious. Perfectly crispy bananas that paired really well with the salted caramel ice cream. If I return I will definitely order this again! (and maybe nothing else) read more

I actually came on the Friday and Sunday I was in Boston, once while shopping and then with my son who needed to carbo-load for the marathon. That's a pretty good sign. We enjoyed the yakisoba, ramen, edamame, gyoza, and juices. The food was fast, and the service was inattentive but kind when I called them over. The man who brought juice samples both days I came was the bright spot of employees, and he remembered me! read more

I stopped by mostly knowing from other reviews that only the juice would be worth it. Melon juice, it was pretty refreshing and satisfying. I even had two. The ramen... not so good. I had the chicken ramen, and it was very salty. The chicken reminded me of that lemon-pepper spice. It came with chicken gyoza, which were ok. They had a very smooth texture, but the taste I can't remember. I had a children sized scoop of ice cream with mango that was ok although a bit too generic... Really, don't waste your money... just get the juice to go... that's what I'll be doing next time. read more

wagamama - Prudential - 20. Chicken Ramen - Asian Fusion Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

This is a different take on a Japanese restaurant. First of all, this is a branch of a large chain based in England. There was not a single Asian staff member on duty. The food is decent enough, but it appears to be a case of being geared to American tastes rather than trying to be authentic. The various offerings are ones that can be thrown together on an assembly line basis by non-Asian chefs. As is usual with Japanese restaurants, it is on the expensive side. The pork ramen, a raw (side) salad, and 20oz. beer ran me $31 with tip. Such a meal is not that filling either. read more

If you are dining in, I would highly suggest the duck donburi. The duck was cooked nicely and seasoned well. Also, my egg was cooked to perfection. All the veggies tasted very fresh, to boot. I've ordered this as takeout, and its not quite as good. The veggies lose their crunch a bit, and the egg gets less runny (due to the residual steam inside the container). One dish I cannot recommend is the shirodashi pork ramen, which was quite poor. The broth was overpowered by a funky mushroom taste. Now mushrooms are probably my favorite vegetable, and I love a little funk (e.g. kimchi), but this was an odd and unappealing flavor. Stay away. read more

Wow. I went to Wagamama today for lunch with 8 coworkers for our weekly lunch outing. About half the group had been before, and the rest of us had heard of it but never went. And now, we won't be back. We went in at noon and bypassed a small line thanks to the one in our group who had made reservations. We sat down and were given menus... and then were ignored for 15 minutes. We finally placed our orders, and another 20 minutes later, the food started arriving. However, it continued to arrive randomly for another 15 minutes. Everything came out separately, and all of the food was run by other servers. Our server was around dealing with other tables, but didn't come by our table at all to check on us. I had ordered teriyaki steak without the onions or mushrooms and a side of broccoli. I assumed there would be some kind of noodle or rice included, but no dice on that. Since that was a wrong assumption on my part, I can't blame the server, but I was surprised that he didn't go for an upsell on that. The steak was also inexplicably spicy, which annoyed me since I hate spicy food and who would've imagined teriyaki steak would be spicy? Unfortunately, I'd drank my entire soda with my duck dumpling appetizer, and the absentee waiter was impossible to get a hold of to get a refill. Eventually I was able to wave him over from across the restaurant and get a refill. Later, when we were (again, finally) able to get his attention to get the bill, it took him another 10 minutes to do that. He had taken the liberty of splitting our check into three separate checks, though he auto-gratted each of them 18%. Interestingly, the bill still also listed suggested tips of 15%, 18%, and 20%... We ended up not leaving the entire auto-gratted amount because frankly, he hadn't earned it. I won't be back there. read more

Wagamama is very upfront about what they are, a noodle place where you sit at communal benches with super fresh food that can have you in and out in next to no time. Perfect for a quick lunch with some of you co-workers if you work in the tower, especially if you are sick of the other options available inside the prudential center. I like the fresh juice, the crispy stir fry and the excellent broth in their soups. There are a few problems with the place though, but the upfront nature with which they address them makes it seem quaint and quirky. 1. You are going to be sitting next to strangers, and they can be very close. But they tell you this up front and the whole place is bench seating, so it can be charming in a you just put your elbow in my soup kind of way. 2. The food doesn't all come out on some sort of schedule. It is possible to get both your appetizer and your entree at the same time, because that is when they happened to be finished. You might get your entree before the people you went with because you ordered meat and they ordered tofu, who knows. They tell you this up front, so it kind of makes up for it. 3. It is impossible to flag down a waitress. They are running around that place like crazy trying to serve everyone, and as the place just opened I am sure they are trying to get the system down. 4. In the same vein as flagging down a waitress, it take a waitress 5 minutes to find you a fork. All of the place settings have chopsticks, which I like to use, but sometimes the people you go with need forks, it took our waitress 5 minutes to find a fork. (maybe she didn't know where they were kept, or she got sidetracked or whatever but still a problem) All in all I think this place is a step below P.F. Chang and a big step above the food court. read more

wagamama - Prudential - Asian Fusion Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

My boy friend, a friend and myself went there to try it out since we had heard some good things about it and we were at the Pru for a convention at the Hynes. I love Japanese style curry and was elated to find out that they offered that same goes for my boyfriend and the Yaki-Soba, that was the height of the meal unfortunately. The presentation was nice enough and kind of amusing, football shaped rice scoop, but chicken was overcooked and bland, also it had been fried in bad oil too boot, you could taste it. The curry tasted and smelled and looked like chicken gravy, not a hint of spice to be found. I was really disappointed, so much so that I couldn't even finish my meal which is a non-occurrence with all other local Japanese restaurants. My boyfriend got the Yaki-Soba. They're Yaki-Soba used Lo-mein noodles not soba noodles, and yes, there is a huge difference. They also added onions (and from the looks of it tried to pick them back out but missed a bunch) and shrimp despite our specific request of no onions or shrimp, there was only one pathetic sliver of chicken, all in all no good, especially if one is a picky-eater or even worse allergic. At best it is a step above food-court Japanese but not by much it is very much westernized in style and flavor and leaves a lot to be desired. Save your money and hunt down a real Japaneses restaurant, it will not only be less-expensive but will taste better too. read more

I got the yasai curry, it was the best curry i have eaten in my life, and i have had some curry in my time, let me tell you. so lily.. what exactly made this curry the best? i am telling you now. there was fried squash and eggplant in here. the butternut squash was sweet and an amazing compliment to the curry. eggplant rocked too. batter was exc. i ate the entire thing without stopping or speaking. the curry was light and delicious, not really heavy like it usually is, (you know, great going down, but then gives you a food pregnancy.) there is seating along the window that overlooks the street, it was really cute and would could have been romantic if i was with a dude and not my best friend. seems great for groups! nice ambiance! i would go back here and eat the same thing over and over again until i die. ..the waiter was kind of weird, but i didn't care. you can be anything if you are serving me delicious things. end! read more

When Moses came down the mountain, he actually had an 11th commandment: Thou shallt honor thy Wagamama. It's a shame that this place isn't more popular. It's fun, incredibly tasty, moderately healthy, fairly unique, inexpensive, and filling. Wagamama is a noodle bar, but it is so much more. Favorites of mine include the Yaki Soba and the Kare Lomen. The raw salad is also really darn good. The flavors are fresh and unlike anything I've tasted in similarly priced restaurants. If you're looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite while in the Pru, skip the food court and go here. My only minor complaints are that I really don't like the whole "let's write on the placemats" thing the waitstaff does (it's bizarre and serves no function I'm aware of), and i don't really love that they bring things out as they're finished (there have been times where my food is 10 minutes earlier than someone else's). These are incredibly minor quibbles though. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday at 1pm and most tables were empty. The hostess was really friendly and I was seated right away. Wagamama is a very spacious, clean, and modern restaurant in the Prudential Center. They specialize in Japanese fusion so don't go in expecting it to be authentic. Their menu had a good selection including ramen, donburi, and teppanyaki. I ordered the Pork Ramen and unsweetened iced green tea. The portions and prices were reasonable and the food arrived in ~10 minutes. The ramen was flavorful and the pork was well cooked. It was definitely "Americanized" and saltier than I'd like but still tasted good. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were pleasant and I'd visit again. read more

Meh. Nothing special. We got the Tori Kara Age (top of the picture) for our starter/side. A few pieces were cold and the others were hot. Wish it was consistent since it was actually pretty good. For entrees, we got the chili chicken ramen and the grilled duck ramen. Not memorable. Ramen noodle itself could've been cooked more. Broth was okay, maybe a little better than okay. This location didn't have great service either. The waitresses, with the exception of one, were taking their time when the restaurant was very clearly busy.
