People sitting by the door should get 10% off on the weekends though cause that place is poppin and that door stays open. Vibe is a mix between 80s-90s diner and uptown parlor. I would love to try the chicken waffle fries the next time I come in. Anyways, I had ordered the bacon overboard waffle with eggs and my friend got the mess haul. The bacon overboard waffle just consist of pieces of bacon on top of the waffle and some mixed inside the waffle. The mess haul had pretty much the same thing but with a piece of chicken. Honestly I thought the waffle was going to be bigger portioned and the bacon , I could of used more inside the waffle, but everything was good overall. The coffee was great, that's rare to find at some places these days, it was fresh. The seating and atmosphere was pretty chill. I can tell alot of regulars come in. Arrived about 9:30 on a Saturday and found that there was a wait. Put me on a text message alert list to be in within an hour. We got a message within a half an hour. Servers were great, wait times were perfectly normal between ordering and getting the food. Atmosphere is loud and we loved it! The staff really hustled, and even through the rush they were overly friendly and attentive to every guest. The decor was well done and I love their branding. If you are around this fall (2021) PLEASE go get the pumpkin cheesecake waffle. I can't begin to say enough good things about it. I'm not a huge sweet person, so was a bit much for me but the rest of the table loved. The country waffles with honey butter or maple- all great- my personal preference was the maple syrup. One of my favorite brunch spots in the Tacoma area! Wait times can get long on the weekends but they have a great online ordering system. There isn't really a lobby/waiting area inside the restaurant but luckily it's in the Proctor area so you can walk around while you wait. I come here for the sugar waffles alone- so crunchy and they have a caramelized sugar texture on top! My favorite flavor is the bacon and cookie butter- sweet from the cookie butter, nice and smokey from the bacon crumbles on top. My wife and I ate here for the first time yesterday morning. This restaurant is clean and bright with a very upscale feel; we were greeted by friendly staff and seated. Mary started with a Brown Sugar Cardamom Latte which was delicious; she had the buttermilk waffle with pecans, light and fluffy, the maple syrup was in a tall bottle that came out of a warmer, this was delicious waffle. There was a 90 minute wait when we arrived, so we were glad that there was a farmer's market on the corner and some cute shops to explore. The breakfast was standard and the sausage a bit misshapen. I chose a pearl sugar waffle which I took home and ate as leftovers. My friend and I split the bacon cookie butter waffle. The menu is very accessible and has lots of reimagined diner classics to choose from - eggs, hash browns, breakfast meats, and all kinds of waffles (of course). The food is actually quite bland. Especially the "regular" waffle. The taste comes from the butter and syrup. Waffles are chewy so, okay if you like that though if you like them more crisp, go elsewhere. Don't forget that, either chewy or crispy, they have little to no taste. Hash browns are consistently burned. Ask for them lightly cooked if you'd like to eat them. Portions are also very small. The male waiter who helped me was polite and appropriately dressed though pre-bussing is something they don't do here. In other words, if you order a nine-course breakfast, all of those dishes will stack up in front of you. No one will remove them until after you've left. An ill-dressed hostess paraded around the restaurant doing nothing. She could have been picking up plates and refilling coffee. The restaurant is small though the ambiance would be inviting if it wasn't so incredibly loud that a conversation with friends must be elevated which, just adds to the cacophony. My husband and I were looking so forward to eat at the waffle stop the morning of the June 19th. We live in the east end of Tacoma so it takes us 30mins to get there. I did call ahead of time to see if they had a waitlist and the voicemail directed me to just go on their website for more info about wait times. NO WAIT TIMES! As soon as we got there we saw a little sign that reads they were closed due to technical issues... closed the 19th and 20th. All I'm saying is they should've updated that online and on their voicemail. Not to mention, we had a hungry toddler with us so we weren't too thrilled with the trouble we had to go through to find somewhere else to eat and wait. Weekends are pretty hard to get into a brunch place around the north end of Tacoma. We ended up going to a chain restaurant cause the places we were trying to eat for backup were so busy. We all ordered different types of waffles (3 choices) and swapped so we could taste them all. I got one that had sugar in the waffle itself and it was fantastic and SUPER sweet. I also had eggs which was great. Despite how busy it was, the coffee was always topped off and the service was great. My only complaint was how packed it was. It was busy and loud and high traffic.
