Came here for lunch. They have a very extensive menu And all items sound really delicious. I ordered the spicy waffle chicken sandwich got the regular one (wrong one). I flagged down the waiter and he brought out the spicy one that I ordered pretty quick. It was good. My uncle had their soup of the day, beef/barley soup and grilled cheese sandwich he said they were both good. read more

Outstanding! Best waffles I have ever had, each dish was so creative and well made. We came on a weekend for brunch and the place was packed-always a good sign in my opinion. The staff really hustled, and even through the rush they were overly friendly and attentive to every guest. The decor was well done and I love their branding. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the area. **also, our server, James, was phenomenal!! We had him our first time when we were visiting the area from out of state. We came back several months later and he not only remembered our faces and where we were from, but even what I ordered. He gets 5 stars. 10/10. Best customer service I have experienced. read more

What a great find! The service is always so good here. They are friendly and they are on it! This is a great breakfast. It's bustling and good vibes for the weekend. The Pearl waffle is delicious....however you have it, it is the way to go. The waffles are why you go but the egg dishes are amazing. Highly recommend the Bacon Avo scramble if you aren't doing waffles. This place gets quite a line going so recommend getting there early. Waffle on! read more

Greeted upon entry. Convenient phone text when spot in line for a table is up so you can peruse the local business' while you wait. Lovely local merch Pacific Northwest Shop right next door. The Waffle Stop logo and decor is simple but very cute and welcoming. Service was great, food as well. My only hesitation to go here again is the noise level. Like most restaurants now with the clean, streamlined no clutter ascetics, there is nothing to absorb all the conversations and dish clatter. read more

A coworker suggested eating here so I swung by with my mom. The staff was very friendly and professional. Once we were seated we ordered our drinks and were given a chance to look over the menu. There were so many good items and the food was delicious. I'd highly recommend the Mexican mocha! I look forward to eating there again. read more

I just LOVE this concept restaurant. They have three different waffle bases to choose from and the toppings are well balanced and thoughtfully paired. If you are around this fall (2021) PLEASE go get the pumpkin cheesecake waffle. I can't begin to say enough good things about it. We also had the luscious lemon blueberry pancake which is a combination of lemon curd, blueberry compote and whipped cream. We got the blueberry on the side and the lemon and whipped cream together tastes like lemon meringue pie; one of my favorite things. (cue the sound of music) The staff are friendly, helpful, expedient, and generous. I can't wait to go back! read more

Delicious - lots of delicious food. We started with the chicken waffle fries - their house made dip is like ranch with a dill kicker. Piled high with cheese and bacon and fried chicken. Monte cristo was crisp and piled high, the raspberry jam was a nice added touch - savory and sweet. The blueberry lemon - very sweet, but tasty. I'm not a huge sweet person, so was a bit much for me but the rest of the table loved. The country waffles with honey butter or maple- all great- my personal preference was the maple syrup. It was steady, but we didn't wait to sit. Really cute set up in a good location in Proctor. Will definitely return! read more

We went to breakfast this morning at the Waffle Shop which used to be one of our favorite places, I have not had food this bad since Boot Camp many years ago. to start with my wife ordered scramble eggs well done what was brought to the table was a fried egg cut into pieces and not well done. I order eggs over medium, bacon well done, hash browns, and a waffle. What I got was two eggs barley cooked at all, bacon that was burnt, hash browns cooked on one side and soaked in oil. the waffle was done in the center. I sent it back and told them to at least cook the eggs. The server returned and asked me how I wanted the eggs cooked at which point I told him to just do a well-done scramble, what I got back was the same eggs dumped on the grill stirred maybe twice and still moving. I just returned the plate and told them np thank-you. On the way out I walked by the kitchen I will be calling the health department Tuesday morning. read more

One of my favorite brunch spots in the Tacoma area! Wait times can get long on the weekends but they have a great online ordering system. There isn't really a lobby/waiting area inside the restaurant but luckily it's in the Proctor area so you can walk around while you wait. I come here for the sugar waffles alone- so crunchy and they have a caramelized sugar texture on top! My favorite flavor is the bacon and cookie butter- sweet from the cookie butter, nice and smokey from the bacon crumbles on top. The rest of their breakfast items are just okay, I haven't tried their lunch items yet. read more

So delicious! We started off with the Brown Sugar Cardamom Latte. I LOVE the fact that they do coffee art. It's just a little extra treat. We then shared the Bacon Avo Scramble and the Fried Chicken & Egg Bowl. The Bacon Avo Scramble was my favorite! It was very good. The hashbrowns could've been crispier, but it was still good. We got a waffle instead of toast with it. The waffle had a cinnamon sugar type of butter with it. Amazing. My friend enjoyed the Fried Chicken & Egg Bowl the most. The gravy was really, really good. Went to the Waffle Stop for my bday. The vibe was right, the service was nice, and my food was great!!! I wouldn't recommend the Elderflower Mimosa. It sounds refreshing and spa like, but it was WAAAY to tart. I would recommend the Luscious Lemon Blueberry waffle. The Fries were good, they were better when we poured the aioli on top. My wife and I ate here for the first time yesterday morning. This restaurant is clean and bright with a very upscale feel; we were greeted by friendly staff and seated. Mary started with a Brown Sugar Cardamom Latte which was delicious; she had the buttermilk waffle with pecans, light and fluffy, the maple syrup was in a tall bottle that came out of a warmer, this was delicious waffle. I had the Luscious Lemon Blueberry waffle - Pearl Sugar Waffle, glazed wild blueberries, whipped cream and tart lemon curd drizzle, so good. We shared a side of bacon, which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We look forward to trying other items on the menu. read more

What a wonderful breakfast spot! A little pricey for me sometimes but I enjoy taking my kids here when they wake up too early. I love the south of the border inspired breakfast's. Overall, going to give this place all 5. Dishes are presented well. Some of them aren't quite what dreams are made of (over-pesto-ing the steak n eggs), but overall, very tasty. The California is my favorite bite. Service is always spot on, never really had any issues there. People sitting by the door should get 10% off on the weekends though cause that place is poppin and that door stays open. Vibe is a mix between 80s-90s diner and uptown parlor. Inviting for the spot it's in, but could use some more warmth. 10/10 would stop for waffles. read more

My friend and I met for brunch a few weeks ago and opted to try Waffle Stop. There was a 90 minute wait when we arrived, so we were glad that there was a farmer's market on the corner and some cute shops to explore. I needed something savory to go with the sweet, so I opted for the "Wake 'n' Waffle" breakfast. This includes a waffle, two eggs, hash browns, and I opted for sausage. The breakfast was standard and the sausage a bit misshapen. I chose a pearl sugar waffle which I took home and ate as leftovers. My friend and I split the bacon cookie butter waffle. The cookie butter mixed with the waffle and whipped cream was delicious. The bacon only added to it. As I'm thinking about it, I want another one. I would definitely recommend it! read more

Dropped by with a large group on a weekday morning for breakfast. The place was packed! But we were able to get the last table right away. The menu is very accessible and has lots of reimagined diner classics to choose from - eggs, hash browns, breakfast meats, and all kinds of waffles (of course). We started with coffee (which was pretty good) and got a smattering of the different offerings. Everyone seemed very happy with their selections - particularly anyone who sprung for one of their more elaborate waffle selections. This spot would be great for a group, especially families or kids. Found this little cute place along the busy street of 6th ave. The place is real neat and I love the home decor inside. Our first time here.. I got the mini mess haul. It was pretty okay. I wish it had more taste to it. But if did get me pretty stuffed. The Nutella strawberry banana waffle was so good! It hit the sweet tooth spot. Must check out! Parking can be tricky. My husband and I were looking so forward to eat at the waffle stop the morning of the June 19th. We live in the east end of Tacoma so it takes us 30mins to get there. I did call ahead of time to see if they had a waitlist and the voicemail directed me to just go on their website for more info about wait times. NO WAIT TIMES! As soon as we got there we saw a little sign that reads they were closed due to technical issues... closed the 19th and 20th. All I'm saying is they should've updated that online and on their voicemail. Not to mention, we had a hungry toddler with us so we weren't too thrilled with the trouble we had to go through to find somewhere else to eat and wait. Weekends are pretty hard to get into a brunch place around the north end of Tacoma. We ended up going to a chain restaurant cause the places we were trying to eat for backup were so busy. There's a couple of chain restaurants 5-10mins from where we live so this was a very annoying experience read more

Love this place! It's better to dine in but it's also amazing to order on DoorDash for those Saturday mornings you don't want to cook. I'm obsessed with their luscious lemon blueberry waffles!! I was a single diner. I usually double tip when I'm alone. Every single other table got waited on much more frequently than me. I and the other solitary diner that came in after me were the only tables without water. The server didn't offer to refill my coffee. Taste: Pizza: There's a funny little story: supposedly, Marco Polo went to China and saw pies, but didn't know how to wrap the filling inside, so he just put it on top--and thus the pizza was born. Personally, I think this is a myth, or many people have started fantasizing about Marco Polo because they think he was too great. But according to various unearthed historical records in China, Marco Polo never actually went to China. In fact, around 2010, more than 20 scholars organized an event called "Retracing Marco Polo's Route." After completing the journey and comparing it to what Marco Polo himself recorded, most of them concluded that he probably never made it to China. Disappointed by the excessive upcharges I visited again this weekend and ordered one of the combos. While the food quality remains good, I was shocked to see that the eggs served were just a fraction of a scramble--and yet, they still charge a $4 upcharge for egg whites. This feels unreasonable, especially since most other restaurants don't impose an extra fee for egg whites, and they're actually cheaper these days. It's disappointing to see what seems like a focus on profits over customer satisfaction or fairness. Before long, it feels like they might start charging for water, napkins, or utensils--where does it stop? Unfortunately, this experience has left me appalled enough to reconsider returning in the future. What could have been a go-to spot is now overshadowed by these policies. read more

Ordered our food and when it came to the table I was disappointed with the portions for what we paid. The home fries my wife got had no crunch to them, the eggs were a bit too soft scrambled, the biscuit that came with my meal was so small and overall, $60 for two people (2 meals and 2 orange juices) was overpriced as heck. I've worked in restaurants and I can throw together the cost of each of our plates and even clearing a small profit off of them, those prices should have been at MOST $45 for two people after tax. I can't say I'd go back, but I wish them luck.

Nothing was fresh even the condiments on the table were only a third full, when the waitress came by to ask if we wanted boxes and I said only one she looked down at my full plate of food I didn't eat and didn't say a word. Would never return but hope to find much better eats next time I'm in Tacoma.

Fun to have the option of ordering from the soda fountain (after 11 am only). You can sit at the bar or at tables inside or outside. There is free two hour parking up and down the road. Staff was incredible. So friendly and amenable to every circumstance. Would go back just for the staff.
