A perfect Waffle House experience! We arrived in Columbus at midnight after a long day of travel with delays and no time to eat during our travel so we were starving. The only thing open was Waffle House or McDonald's so Waffle House it was! Being from the west coast we wanted to try the famous/infamous Waffle House. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the two young ladies who were servers. They were so sweet and great servers! We ordered the American breakfast special and our night cook got to it. He looked like how you'd picture a night cook, that's all I'm gonna say. And we got our food in about 10 mins. Food was bomb, honestly probably because we were so so hungry lol. I loved the cheesy eggs and the crazy crispy bacon and the waffle. The toast with melted butter, hash browns. Delicious. Ate it all up. Then on the way out we started talking to the only other customer in there (middle aged dude at the bar seating reading a book at 1am at a Waffle House) and a guy in my group is from England so the bar guy was asking where in England our guy was from because he had family there. My friend asks him if he ever goes back to visit and bar guy says "no because my sisters a lying b*tch" and begins to rant about his whole family drama for 5 mins. Let me start with the food was Wonderful. They had 7 staff members there and wow could they talk. They hollered orders out and then hollered again to repeat the orders. Then they decided to play the jukebox . Mind you it's 4th of July. So we play Let freedom reign. The whole staff decide to sing it! Did I say yet they turned it up loud. Now we have a bar atmosphere. Decided I would stop in for breakfast this morning at Waffle House. Kind of surprised that there was an employee asleep in a silver vehicle right outside the front door. Well went in and ordered the All Star Special. The girl that waited on me was the only person working and decided she had to be the cook also. You could tell she wasn't the cook as she couldn't flip the eggs in the pan as is the standard. Instead she ended up putting it on the grill to finish it. Hash browns were overcooked. Came in here while we waiting for iron pony to open. Wasn't too busy but we waited 20 minutes for three open tables to be cleaned. Got acknowledged once. No social distancing at the bar and we got to hear the staff argue loudly with one another while we waited for those tables to be cleaned. Terrible customer service and the manager did not have that location under control. We ended up leaving and going to Delaney's down the road about a mile. Pro tip: go to Delaney's. read more

My favorite Waffle House in the area. Food tastes like every other Waffle House on planet earth. They are nothing if not consistent. The cleanliness is average as well. The part that sets this Waffle House apart from the crowd is their staff. Every time I have been in here I have had the best service. My favorite part? I've watched staff interact with elderly regulars a few times and they are so kind to them. It makes my heart happy. I've had several great female servers who's names slip my mind (sorry ladies!) but I can remember a nice host named Joe who was particularly great. Haven't been to a Waffle House in years. Dropped our beast off at Petco at 10am on Sunday for groom and decided why not hit Waffle House for breakfast. Truth be told I only remember going to there one other time sober. Another story for another time lol. Anyway, food was Delicious (2 eggs over easy, hash browns with onions, sausage patties). If ducks ran this place, it would be called the Waddle House. I love Waffle House and this one has lots of special memories to me, but the last few times I went there, the hash browns were incredibly dry and the chili made me feel sick. Even the Texas Cheesesteak sandwich just didn't taste right. So what can I say other than... there are lots of WHs in Columbus, I recommend trying a different one... especially if you find the food here not to be to your taste or up to usual WH standards. read more

Great place for late night eats or a quick breakfast. It's always an interesting experience, sometimes fast, sometimes slower than molasses in January. Can't guarantee there's no trans fat, but at 2-3am? Sometimes a waffle just hits the spot. Add pecans. Most everything is under $8. My fave is the cheesy eggs, 1 waffle, and raisin toast. A fab order of grits rounds it all out. Add salt, pepper, butter. Feeling wild? Add syrup. Get your hash browns, scattered, smothered, covered and capped for a delish potatoey crunch with cheese, onions and mushrooms. There's plenty of coffee. What bugs me is that there are no commercial dishwashers. Everything is done by hand right in front of you. Kind of an eew factor. The 6.00 dollars meals are a great value you get a drink and hashbrowns which is included you get to select from lots of options. I had the two classic burgers, hashbrowns, drink all for 6.00 now thats a deal. The server even ask us would we like a soda and coffee to go without us even asking now thats good service. Came here after going to Crazee Mule tonight. I love Waffle House the food is always delicious. When we got in there we were the only customers there. I ordered the Texas bacon egg and cheese melt with covered (cheese) and peppered (jalapeños) hash browns. I also ordered a side of cheese grits. The sandwich was great and the bacon on it was crispy and fantastic. The hash browns were okay, but for some reason they added a lot of onions to mine is well. I like onions but it's not what I ordered. The cheese grits are my favorite thing to order and they were yummy as usual. My fiancé ordered steak, eggs and hash browns. The steak was cooked medium, and was very tender and perfectly cooked- I was pleasantly surprised. The eggs were generic scrambled eggs. He upgraded his hash browns to a triple and got them "all the way", which resulted in A LOT of hash browns and add-ins. He loved the hash browns and he has enough left over for lunch tomorrow. The service was disappointing. Our drinks were never refilled and the waitress never came to check on us. It also took around 10 minutes of standing at the register to check out. You get pressed to order, eat, pay, leave. -The menu is corporate pushed items. =There are 3 menus. The abbreviated menu that you are greeted with at your seating. The post card size value menu that is tucked in beside the napkin dispenser. The hidden below the counter menu that shows every item offered. -Syrup in a place called Waffle House. =The dispensers have always been sticky. You have to request your syrup to be warm(comes in a Styrofoam cup). There is no syrup variety. Sugar-Free option becomes a scavenger hunt behind the counter. -Cleanliness is optional. =They will to a courtesy wipe of the counter you sit at. Nevermind the sticky syrup area. You probably want to ignore what's on the floor. Check your silverware before your meal arrives. -Structure. =This building is smaller than most locations. There is a small private parking lot that will hold employees, and a small amount of patrons vehicles. The staff is the greatest influence on your dining experience. The friendliness of your server. Let's not confuse my 4 star rating with this being a 4 star restaurant, we all know its far from that.....but seriously there are not better waffles to be had than there are here and of course the late night hashbrowns are the best, speaking of the hashbrowns let me tell you now that there is the option of sausage gravy as a topping! You can catch this America at around good old 8 in the morning, when the wholesome families are coming for the wholesome breakfast. And you can hear the big motorcycle bang coming off the main drag, yeah. "I'll meet you at the Waffle House. The one off of 161.. Dublin Granville." For sure. The manager is in his best suit - it might have fit him better before the comb-over days. He shows everyone to their table with huge menus and an attentive smile. It might be the waitress's 7th straight day of this place, but she still greets the table with eagerness to fill every cup with the Classic Blend. "Order whatever you see on that menu that tickles your fancy." She calls you 'hun' or 'sweetie' and says 'sure thing' when you ask for more butter. The chef, his huge frame turned away from all the guests, tends to the large metal surfaces where eggs are made 10 million different ways. He's devoted and diligent, flipping flapjacks, manning the waffles, approving of all the orders with a strong-as-oak nod... doing up the hashbrowns: scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, topped, diced, peppered, or even capped. The bacon's choice, man. Give me some. (It says here they've got 70,778,880 different ways to prepare their hamburgers.) You can overhear a passer-through on his fifth cup of coffee, washing down the maple syrup and butter, talking at his sweetheart... "Why do sharks attack, baby? Why does the lion look so fierce when he's hungry? Because you look so good. The married men in here are convulsing.. they've gone rabid. Look what you've done, girl! Ha!" The Waffle House attracts the out-of-towners and many interstaters. They've been driving many miles. They need to be stationary for awhile and get a bite to eat. No one minds anything so long it doesn't interfere with their business. "Yeah, I know what was going on back at your mom's house. Girl, she had plans that did not include me. They included you and not me and not me and you." The Waffle House is a welcome place for anyone not welcome somewhere else. I take another refill of black coffee - The Classic Blend that keeps the interstates moving along and the Wal-Mart buzzing till noon. I decide on a slice... Lemon Creme, Triple Chocolate, Pecan, All American Apple. Well, shit. I decide on a slice of Apple. I read the Dispatch and see what's cooking for later. if i could give it a zero star i would. i got home late from traveling last night and was super hungry. also my power has been out at my apartment for days so i had no food to come home too. My boyfriend and i walked in and we both were greeted with nasty looks by the old hag and nasty ponytail guy. when we walked up to the counter they said it's carry out only which is fine, but when we went to order they cut my boyfriend off and YELLED "NO NO NO WE DONT HAVE THAT". completely unnecessary to yell. i've never had any worker yell at me that loud. As he continues to order, the old lady with the short white hair cuts him off again and yells "i can't hear you you're looking at him but talking to me, i can't hear you". ??? just confusing how someone can be so nasty and rude. you should have just been there to hear how she sounded. i get if you're having a bad day, it's hard to be super happy and nice all the time. however this whole experience was unacceptable. after she takes our order, she hands it over to joe exotic who then starts an argument with her. as he is making our food, about less than 6 feet in front of us, he starts complaining how people shouldn't go to restaurants to eat. he whiningly said "that's what stores are for, eat at home" why would you apply to work at a waffle house if you don't like making food for people. i am so confused. the passive aggression is so unprofessional and anyone should be fired on the spot for that. then a group of girls walk in and he starts flirting with them and creeping them out. i heard them talk about him when he walked away, as they should. they never call us over to cash out so we just walk over. We got three waffles by the way. $4 each. it says it on the menu, you would also think every employee should know how much a waffle is at: Waffle House. the old fart starts rummaging around looking for our ticket she wrote earlier. She takes forever to ask the line cook, who is now sitting in a booth, where our ticket is. he said "i don't know" with an attitude. she then scoffs and turns around to find it immediately. this took about 10 minutes of us just standing at the register watch her go -100 miles an hour. she knew we got three waffles, it's in the bag and she took our order. 4+4+4. why do you need to find the ticket, it's f**king $12. we still tipped because they were pitiful. not to mention the cleanliness of the store. i was disgusted at the trash everywhere and dishes not cleaned up while dude was just chillin on his phone. How can I give a Waffle House five stars I asked myself as I sat down to write this? Because they give excellent service, good food, and at this particular Waffle House, when we walked in everyone behind the counter yelled "Hello" and "Sit where ever you want" as a greeting. What a welcome! I love Waffle House and it's a shame that in a big city like Pittsburgh you need to travel to the Meadowlands exit to get to one. Our cheery waitress came over with silverware, coffee cups, and menus. "How 'bout some Coffee for y'all this morning?" she asked, I guess I hid my hangover quite well or she wouldn't have asked. The five Martinis from the night before were raging war with my head and stomach. "Please" I replied, looking over the menu I knew I wanted cinnamon apple waffles (God help me I almost wrote "NOM" here but stopped myself) and something to settle my stomach. Ahhhhh, grits! I love grits, and Waffle House has delicious Grits! Waffle House coffee has healing powers beyond belief. After my first cup I had almost no sign of my hangover or headache. The waffle was delicious and the cinnamon apple flavor with the maple syrup was a delicious morning treat. The grits were creamy and perfectly cooked. She the proceeded to tell me that they thought I was the other customer. I'm sorry the guy who got up out weighed me by roughly 300lbs. Plus the server seemed to know him, so I call "BS". The food served up here is consistent with every other Waffle House in this fair land of ours. Some days the [insert food item here: waffle, bacon, hash browns] is served a bit more "well done" than others, but overall it's the same meal every time. So, why four stars for a run-of-the-mill WH franchise? The floor show, damn it. The wife and I used to frequent this location on Sunday mornings. In the last 8 years, it's been nearly the exact same crew working Sunday mornings (Lily, Pam, et. al). Sitting at the counter you have a front-row seat to some great banter among the crew. They're always upbeat and often a little sarcastic (towards each other, not the customers). Lily, who looks every bit the sweet grandmotherly type, will often break into song (not loudly, just in a normal speaking tone - very dead pan). Sometimes she uses the jukebox as accompaniment, other times not, My first memories of Lily were of her walking past my table singing some Smashing Pumpkins "despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage." More recently, she was washing dishes and tossing out some Bonnie Tyler, "once upon a time I was falling in love, now I'm only falling apart." The food at this WH is consistent. I received just plain hash browns (so I overpaid), white toast and no apple butters. I checked my bag for utensils before I left, and found that they were missing also. As I was staying in a hotel, the missing utensils would've been a disaster. "Good food, fast", is not good, if it's not what you ordered and/or if you didn't receive what you paid for. This is the norm for take-outs at WH. In fact, I'm shocked on those rare occasions when I do get what I ordered. read more

This is my regular location to visit but regardless you'll get the same quality food at every Waffle House. They are machines, cranking out delicious omelettes and hash browns with any toppings you like. Myself, I always go all the way except for jalapeños (yes that includes chili, you'd never believe how good it is on hash browns). The food is always fresh and made to order. The star deduction comes from how rude some of the staff can be if you call. I understand busy times and not having the ability to take a carry out order at that moment. That doesn't require saying "we can't take carry outs right now" and hanging up on me. That's happened several times. And from what I've been told it's company policy to take all phone orders. Ironically the staff are always polite in person. They make you smile. I will continue going to this location but I'm on the fence about doing a carry out since you never know what kind of attitude you'll get. read more

My wife and a couple friends of ours were on a roadtrip to Washington DC and stopped at Waffle House because we had heard it was really good. The staff was absolutely fantastic and the customers were so lovely. We tried the peanut butter waffles and oh my gosh. So good. First, be aware the photos currently showing are not of the Westerville Waffle House (3385 E Dublin Granville) but instead are of the I-71 & 161 (1050 E Dublin Granville) restaurant. And be aware, I like the Westerville restaurant better than the 71 store...3385 is cleaner and friendlier. That said, the first thing you will notice is how clean and bright this Waffle House is kept. That in itself earns a bonus star. We went for breakfast on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. Good thing...this is one of the small ones with only six booths. Seat yourself and the friendly waitress will come right to you. We thought the menu was a little confusing so be sure to look at both sides. Also look at anything stuck in the condiment basket...turned out to be another breakfast menu in there. But our super-helpful waitress pointed out ways to save which was appreciated. Yes! I did have a waffle. And it was good but not quite as crispy as I think a waffle should be and can be. Scrambled eggs were good. Hash browns were good and I ordered them covered in optional sausage gravy. If there was any actual sausage in my serving, it was very small. But it did taste good. My city ham was delicious. Country ham is also available if you like a stronger ham flavor. My friend had an eggs/hash browns/toast combo and coffee. Oh, and I ordered apple juice...it came out in juice boxes with the flexy straw. I will say nothing was really piping hot...everything was just warm enough, including the coffee. Stopped by with family to have a meal. Upon sitting down at the counter we noticed a large pool of wet food lying on the floor behind the counter. When they waitress asked what was wrong I told her it was difficult to look at the soupy mess lying on the floor behind the counter. She said, "Yes, that is awful to look at isn't it?"
