Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try. read more

Even though we had breakfast earlier, we could not pass up the opportunity to stop at a Waffle House! Although I ordered a regular waffle, I saw a waitress bring out a blueberry for someone else and commented to my husband how I should have ordered differently. Our waitress heard me and insisted on making me a blueberry waffle instead, assuring me the other would not go to waste. All the ladies working behind the counter were very friendly, engaging, and fun. It was clear they all loved working together, and it was nice to see them helping each other out with their customers. Sitting at the counter was a great way to watch them interact, and we appreciated how they all wished us safe travels back home. If I lived in the area, I'd be in here all the time. WoW so disappointing me and the wife stopped in tonight for a quick bite. MISTAKE.... they were not that busy when we arrived said to take a seat but the table was dirty, the floor had a spill on it... Waited for that to be done the seat was dirty they didn't bother cleaning it either... Wife had all star and asked to please wait for the Waffle till we asked for it we like it hot are sometimes to go... Well the place picked up as we were their, people were standing and waiting to eat. So we asked our waitress for it to go, so we could clear a table for her. We paid our bill left a $5.35 tip on a $21.09 ticket. Then she said we wanted a peanut butter waffle we asked for a pecan waffle.. Well 15 minutes later we still waiting! So we got up to leave no one said a word not a apology are have a good night... Well it will be awhile before I eat their again... Another matter not one worker had a mask on.... I have been going to Waffle House since I was a child. I believe this one lives up to the good standards that Waffle House has had for as long as I remember. The service was pleasant, the food arrived quickly, hot, and tasted good. The place has a neat appearance and is kept clean. We were traveling from MS to TX, very tired, there'd been a huge 18wheeler Fire on the hwy, and I'd turned my caution lights..Well I could not get them off to save my life, nor could my family. So we stop at Waffle House 2056 and Mr Jonathan saved the day err night as it was 3/4 am. Mz Jessica was super patient, with all 4 of us, answering questions about the menu. They have my eternal gratitude. It had been a rough day and they made us feel welcomed and rested.
